Syncing games with manga!

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I recently started to read the Pokemon Adventures manga and watch the anime series from beginning while I play all the core series Pokemon games.

I will keep my game progress synced with the manga chapters and anime episodes as much as possible. But instead of starting with Pokemon Red/Blue, I started my journey on LeafGreen. I'm in the Red, Green & Blue chapter of the manga and watching Season 1 (Indigo League) episodes.

So I wanted to ask if the following games and will allow me to sync with the manga chapters:

LeafGreen game = Red, Green & Blue + Yellow + FireRed & LeafGreen chapters
HeartGold game = Gold, Silver & Crystal + HeartGold & SoulSilver chapters
Emerald game = Ruby & Sapphire + Emerald chapters
Platinum game = Diamond & Pearl + Platinum chapters

......you get the idea. Can I take this shortcut and still keep my game and manga storylines synced, or should I play ALL of them from beginning to end? Sorry for the long post. Any help would be appreciated!

I suppose it would depend from person-to-person? I'm not precisely sure.

If it were up to me, however, I'd play games and watch anime story- and timeline-wise. For example, I'd start off with first generation of games, and watch their original season of anime to complement. When up finished with those, I'd go onto second gen and follow it up with the anime. Next, it's Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, and to keep me in the mood of excitement and whatnot, I'd watch Advanced Generation series alongside.

I can't say if this answers your question, but I hope it does!

Sorry if I misunderstand, but are you asking this to avoid possible spoilers or...? I wouldn't even bother syncing them, honestly. They follow one another enough for you to kind of understand what is going on, but not enough to really give too many spoilers.

It's not to avoid spoilers. It's to avoid playing the same game twice. I want to play FireRed/LeafGreen only and not Red/Blue and Yellow.

I was planning to play LeafGreen as far as Pokemon Adventures manga goes with Yellow chapter and resume playing LeafGreen again when I reach FireRed and LeafGreen chapter in manga.

Same goes for other remakes/extensions (Emerald, HeartGold, Platinum)

Okay, for my thoughts on that, I would still play all of them. And I personally wouldn't follow the games based on the manga or vice versa, but if you prefer that then that is your choice. But then again, I had beaten most of the games long before I started on the manga.
