Note: This is not a traditional novel-style fan fiction. Rather, it is a series of short stories placed in chronological order, though serveral of them do feature recurring characters. The goal of this fan fiction is to explain how the World of Pokemon came to be in the first place, and the events in the realm's early days that shaped it into what we know the place as today. This work is based loosely on the anime and video games, but most content stems from my imagination. Also, when the language sounds a little strange, I am intentionally trying to match the style of the Judeo-Christian Bible (Old Testament), when there are events that are paralell. My original name for this work was going to be "The Poke-Bible," but I decided to change it to avoid being flamed by people more religious than I am.

Due to violence and touching on religious ideals, I am giving this topic a PG rating.

Tale I: Arceus, the Original One

(This is a little short because there isn't much to work with yet, and I wanted the first tale to feature only Arceus. The stories do get progressively longer as more items come into exsistance.)

In the beginning, there was nothing, There was only black, or there would have been if the concept of "black" had existed at that time. Of course there was no concept of time yet either. There was also no space, as the physical realm had also yet to come into existance. There was no day or night, for the sun, moon, and stars had not been created to cause this phenomena. There was no life, nor were there the conditions for any form of life to survive. There was only nothingness, and at the center of the nothingness was an egg.

But it would be from this egg that the process of creating all we know began. For from this egg emerged a being- a creature depicted as a white beast with a yellow ring that skirted the center of his body. This being ruled over the void. He was the master of the nothingness, and he posessed the power to shape the nothing into something. And the first thing he created was a name for himself, a name by which he would be known for eternity as the creator of this realm, and the name that the creature chose was none other than Arceus. Arceus now had a name for himself, and he saw that this was good. This was the first creation.

However, there was still much work to be done. Only one being existed still, and that was Arceus; and he had only made one creation, and that was his name. Arceus had eyes, but he could see nothing in the void, as that was still all there was: nothing but nothningness. There was nothing as far as the eye could see, or rather not see. It was time for Arceus to make a second creation.

"Let there be light," Acreus cried out, his voice echoing through the void, causing it to be filled with brightness. Now there was light, but the light shone down on nothingness. Arcues' work was far from complete, but he saw that his two creations were good. With a name and light created, the great Arceus decided to take a brief respite before he continued his work. After all, even an omnipresent being can feel tired if it so desires, and Arceus felt that a short period of slumber was in order now. And being a god, no one was going to argue with him, had there been any other beings in existance.

Interesting, a story resembling Genesis. Would be nice if it were longer.

    Continue, nevertheless.
