Hi, my second time in this area.
I just caught a Tangela and leveled it up a bit. The problem is I dont like the current attacks it has.
What would be the best move set for Tangela?
The one it currently has is:
    Vinewhip
    Absorb
    Poison Powder
    Growth
It has a very good defense but a lowsy SP attack and SP defense which is unfortunate because I was thinking of making it my grass lead. It's ability is Chlorophyll and it's nature is Lonely. It's at level 26 and currently has no item attached
What I thought would be good future attacks were Megadrain, Bulletseed tm and SwordsDance tm.
I'm just not sure. I keep training with Drowzees to make it have a stronger special defense but what if that doesn't do much?

    Tangela @ Leftovers
    Chlorophyll

HP Grass/Giga Drain (Giga Drain because you won't probably get the right HP)
    Sleep Powder
    Leech Seed
    Growth/Stun Spore/Toxic

I'd help you with the EV training, but I'm not that good at EVs.

    Umm...Giga Drain for an only damaging move is going to be a major pain ingame, ya' know. And since it's Lonely (+Attack, -Defense) you might as well make some use of the attack stat, a half-decent set could be something like;

    Trait: Clorophyll
    Item: Leftovers
    Moves:
    Sludge Bomb
    Solarbeam
    Sunny Day
    Swords Dance/Sleep Powder

Sunnybeamer Tangela with some Grass-type countering, with Sunny Day + Chlorophyll it should be able to outspeed a thing or two, and of course get a chargeless Solarbeam (Quite nice with STAB and a base Sp.Attack of 100) while Sludge Bomb lets you make use of the nature-boosted attack. It should work, just don't expect anything brilliant and don't send it in against fire types. For the last move, Swords Dance, if you can get it in along with Sunny Day, would add a significant amount of power to Sludge Bomb, whereas Sleep Powder lets you incapacitate opponents and so get more time to KO them. Some might call for Synthesis here, but that's really a waste with Tangela's weak Sp.Defense and HP. Also, training with Drowzees won't do you much good. Tangela's base Sp.Defense is a measly 40, so even if you get full EVs on it it won't be any good. You should focus on HP and Sp.Attack instead, maybe with a little spared for Defense and Attack. Also, as a rule of thumb: develop HP first and defenses later, no amount of defense will help you much if your HP is too low. I mean, just look at Shuckle.

    Oh, and for future reference, post your movesets in the following format;

    Pokémon name @ (Held Item)
    Nature:
    Trait:
    Moves:
    (Move 1)
    (Move 2)
    (Move 3)
    (Move 4)

It makes the whole thing a lot clearer and won't annoy moveset raters. ^^

You don't want a Lonely nature. You probably want a Bold or Relaxed nature because Tangela has great Defense and makes a great physical wall.

    Tangela@Leftovers
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 252 Def/252 Sp Atk/4 Spd
    -Sleep Powder
    -Solarbeam
    -Sunny Day
    -Hidden Power [Fire]

That's just what I think. Sunny Day will double the power of Hidden Power [Fire], double Speed, and be a Sunnybeamer with a good STAB. The Nature and EVs are probably messed up though.

Dont forget this is in-game. Perfect EVs and DVs are nearly impossible.

This is in-game? That makes everything different. Anything works in-game, considering its so easy.

Tangela isn't a great Physical Wall due to low HP. You're better off with Sleep Powder/Stun Spore/Sunny Day/Solar Beam. Sunnybeaming is almost pointless ingame unless you have Groudon support. If you do put a filler over Sunny Day ad have fun sweeping. Also, look for a Modest Nature.

Since this is in-game I really wouldn't worry that much about EVs. I do use nutrients to power up my Pokemon, though sometimes I have to cheat to do it.
