Introduction

Welcome to Team Broken Memories!

Hey, I'm Edens Elite, and I am something of a newb to this site, although I am very interested in ROM Hacking, It doesn't really come naturally as it does to some. Nevertheless I am gradually picking a few skills and implementing them into my first hack. But I actually really believe in my hack idea and storyline and think with a little help it could be made into something great.

I want to make this team into a beautiful orchestra of talent, to make my first hack, something truly memorable.

So you might be wondering, why should I join this team? Well there are a few advantages that I think a collaborative effort could present

• I'm not a slave master, You don't have to dedicate loads of time to the cause, I only ask that you reply to every PM/VM that another member of the group sends to you, presuming it is asking for, even if you can't answer it. And possibly a little PM to me, if your going away for a while. Not hard really :)

• Two minds are better than one, so image 10 or 20 minds all working together to make a awesome hack. Having the support of a team is awesome, especially if your new and don't know who to ask for help around the site.

• Help on your own project. Although I would hope most effort went towards the main project I would have no problems with posting sub-projects

• Access to my latest work, I'm not amazing, but I'm working on yellow revamp project and have nearly completed a patch to revamp every single yellow sprite and shiny, stuff like this is shared with my team :) (Not bribe :L)

No Loss, Only gain. There is not a lot of commitment required for this but there is the support of a whole team to gain.

How Can I Help? (Job Titles)

Graphics

Graphics, covers a pretty wide range, From Fakemon, Trainers, Backsprites, OWs and creating Tiles. You can apply, however, for specific things if, for example, you only wanted to design and create trainers. If you can't sprite, please don't apply for this job. It doesn't mean you still can't get advice from people in this area though.

Mapping

In the name really, involves mapping and inserting tiles, I would prefer non-experienced members to stay away from this section to be honest.

Scripting

Again, pretty simple, using XSE to generate and compile scripts into the game. All users are welcome, but your scripts won't be accepted until they work (obviously :))

CSS

I only really need one person for this, if you are a seasoned CSS users. Make this thread look pretty :3

Writer

I only need a couple of people for this as well. Just to bounce ideas of to generally improve the storyline of the game.

ASM Hacker

If you can do any ASM, we will gladly accept you. Accepting as many users as possible.

Music Hacker

Can you stand the horror that is Sappy? We would love to have you. You either can or can't music hack so if you have the know how please apply. It would be helpful if you knew how to loop tracks as well though.

Beta Testers

Basically, you will see the magic before the general public and try and sweep through everything to see any problems. You must literally explore every crack of beta to find bugs, so please don't take this lightly. Anyone welcome though.

Banner Creator

I need someone who's good with animation to make a cool team banner, again a sort of one person job.

Introduction

Ash Ketchum had just defeated Team Rocket. He beat the league and is now gallivanting around Johto. Good, because it turns out Team Rocket were not down, and they certainly were not out. As you wake up in a abandoned town. You must travel the land to discover who you are; but when you finally discover the truth, will you then enjoy the very thing you sought after so desperately, or it will crush and turn you speechless. Discover all in the unique hack. Pokemon Broken Memories.

Story


WARNING: Does actually contain real spoilers. As the game works on the idea of discovering things, this might ruin the fun. If you truly want to enjoy the game, just go look at the pretty pictures below :).

Turns out. Your a Rocket Admin. I Know right, Killer blow. Giovanni had received word of a Mew sighting and sent one of his top brass (you) to investigate. After taking over dear little Pallet Town, imprisoning the people and turning the place upside, you find...nothing. Everyone is clearing out, but as you go to leave the Ketchem residence. You loose your footing and fall down the stairs. Lol right; wrong. You wake up and everybody has left, except you don't know they were even there because you have completely lost your memory.

It's pretty freaky waking up in a ghost town with no recollection of anything. But you find a pokedex, pokemon and a town map and set on your adventure to discover the past.

Without giving to much away, various people know things about you, they challenge you to battles the prize; information. You gradually build up a picture of yourself and you are mortified to discover the person you once were. Instilled with new morals you set out to destroy the very thing you once were.

Travel through the revised Kanto region and run into a few familar faces, team up Dawn and Lucas, Challenge Jesse and James and so much more. The rest of it though you will have to piece together the memories.

Features (Some yet to be implemented, but I'm doing my best to get them in)

• Contains all Startes and Legandaries from all regions, plus the very best of Sinnoh and Unova.
• Discover loads of new custom pokemon such as Primal Dialga, Armoured Mewtwo, Surfboard Pikachu, Ukelele Pichu and so much more.
• The Sevii Islands have been completely revised into loads of different events in Seasons Island, Containing Christmas and Halloween related pokmon in fun events (And sneak peak at St.Nick :O)
• All the friendly faces have returned: Ash, The Hoenn lot, The Sinnoh Lot, Pokemon Ranger and Colleseum characters. Jesse and James and Gym Leaders from other regions as well.
• Custom Music; I plan to have some very special songs implemented. I want to have every major tune changed.
• Custom Tiles; A Overhaul of the Original Fire Reds Tilesets.
• Trade be-gone. All Evolutions are obtainable without trading
• Revamps; I'm changing all my favourite Kanto and Johto Pokemon to their revamped forms from Yellow and Crystal.
• DNS; Day, Night and Seasons in full effect.
• New Trainers
• No more boring Oak Script. Because the town is abandoned, this means you just pick up the pokeball, no fuss and leave without battling a rival or getting Oak's Parcel. Yay.
• New Starters. Pick from Snivvy, Piplup or Cundaquil. Don't worry though, all starters are found throughout the game.
• New exciting items
• Easter Eggs and Memes. And Plenty of 'em.

Pokemon Yellow Revamp Project

The title says it all really. I'm planning on creating a perfect yellow re-make, or rather the tools needed to do so.

With the progress of the 'Follow-Me' script over in R&D, I felt that a decent Yellow remake is in order. I think that a awesome feature would be to have original features but...revamped. This is going to be a sort of community project with several threads in the pixel project forum but this will be the index page of it all. Without further ado...

Pokemon Revamp

This one is pretty special to me as i've been working on it for quite a while. As you can see from the link below

I let my friend use these in a hack of this and to post them would be unfair as loads of people would be using them. I'll release the link soon though.


The Patch is Fire-Red BPRE, I'm planning to port the patch to R/S/E and Leaf Green when it is perfected.


Trainer Patch

I'm fairly sure that every trainer is listed Here.

A Pixel Project will be created in the relevant forum soon; for now post your revamp here.

First, I will collect all the trainers then put them the game and release the patch. So if you want this, work fast :).

Music Patch

After a bit of delving into the web, I think I found a few .mid files of the music, but I'm not sure if it's all there, let me know if I am missing any

Download them Here.

If a seasoned music hacker could just drop them into a Fire Red ROM and send me the Patch, we will have one of the main components of this project. (Please note I also will Need Emerald, possibly Ruby and Sapphire as well, but Prioritize FR!)

Script Patch

Apart from the Follow Me script (Which will be added when the code is released) This patch will aim to imitate Yellow (Script-wise) as much as possible. If the owner agrees, I may just post a link to a pre-exsisting Yellow remake.

Pokemon Icon/OW Patch

Not particularly hard to revamp, but I think it's pretty fun to add these for some real authenticity.
