Probably the best way to tear apart teams is to have two Pokemon with identical counters that can wear down each other's counters to make sweeping a lot easier. One such good example of this is Babiri Tar and Agiligross, who just slowly rip through each other's counters.

I've tried to find one combo such as the one above that does a good job at wearing down each other's counters, and I found one that kind of worked when I went to the BL Tier: Lucario and Gallade. Together, these two Pokemon rip into each other's counters like a hot knife through butter.(yea, bad cliche saying is bad)

I built a team around this combination of Lucario and Gallade, and it worked well, nailing a 6-1-1 run on its debut in the PC Get-Together Shoddy Tourney. However, throughout the tourney there were quite a few problems that I found that needed to be addressed, such as Gengar, Scarf Flygon, and those annoying SubExplosion Heatran that just are out to ruin people's lives. (Also Sub T-Wave Jirachi is a pain, but it is with any team once it flinches you 30 times in a row rofl)

Im tired and need my sleep (lol) for double-days tomorrow, so no pics or fancy colors atm. Sorry, I'll post them later.

    Azelf @ Focus Sash
    Naive Nature- Levitate
    252 Spa/ 4 Atk/ 252 Spe

    Fire Blast
    Stealth Rock
    Taunt
    Explosion

Azelf is honestly one of the best leads in OU, mainly because it stops so much. Taunt beats out Ninjask, Smeargle, Bronzong, Swampert, Foretress, and a whole host of other leads, allowing Azelf to freely set up Stealth Rock the next turn and then either attack with Fire Blast or blow itself up with Explosion (unless ghosts come in and rofl at the BOOOM that courses through them with no effect). Really Azelf just hates Electrode, Aerodactyl, Infernape, and TrickScarf leads that just annoying everybody.

    Gyarados @ Leftovers
    Adamant Nature- Intimidate
    156 HP/ 72 Atk/ 96 Def/ 184 Spe (yea these are probly wrong, ill check em later0

    Dragon Dance
    Waterfall
    Stone Edge
    Bounce

Yes, this set is unorthodox. Still, it makes for a very effective Infernape/Heatran check, setting up on Scarftran and all Apes without Thunderpunch. Stone Edge OHKOes Zapdos, Togekiss, foe Gyara, etc. while Bounce works great on incoming grass-types (and is awesome when it paralyzes the following switch-in and cripples it). Waterfall is actually pretty powerful with the above stats, able to 2HKO Metagross and Jirachi on the switch.

    Shaymin @ Life Orb
    Timid Nature- Natural Cure
    252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP

    Seed Flare
    HP Fire
    Earth Power
    Rest/Psychic/Air Slash

Shaymin is one little powerful echidna/hedgehog. Seed Flare just rips into a lot of stuff, and the Sp. Def drop helps that even further. HP Fire makes for a great lure against Steel-types (especially Scizor and Forry, while Earth Power smacks Heatran and company on the switch. I use Rest because it is standard, but I find myself rarely having to use it, so I am considering a fourth attacking move there. Leech Seed may also be an option for team support, and is a great way to nab a chuck of Blissey's health.

    Jolteon @ Life Orb
    Timid Nature- Volt Absorb
    252 Spa/ 252 Spe/ 4 Def

    Thunderbolt
    Shadow Ball
    Hidden Power Grass
    Charge Beam

Jolteon is speedy and hits like a truck- my favorite kind of combination. If Jolteon comes in on a weakened foe and picks it off with Charge Beam, nearly the whole metagame that isn't Scarfed is at Jolteon's mercy. Thunderbolt will OHKO Dragonite with Stealth Rock up, Shadow Ball tears into Gengar and Rotom, and Hidden Power Grass can actually OHKO Swampert and Hippowdon, which makes it easier for Lucario and Gallade to set up and sweep. Jolteon is also my T-Wave absorber, which pretty much everything on my team hates.

    Lucario @ Life Orb
    Adamant Nature- Inner Focus
    252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP

    Swords Dance
    Close Combat
    Extremespeed
    Crunch

Lucario is the first of my two Fighting sweepers, and kills off most of the stuff Gallade can't touch- Zapdos, Infernape, Scizor, and Scarf Heracross- with Extremespeed or Close Combat. Crunch is mainly for the bulky Rotom formes, since Gallade can deal with Ghost types pretty well. Skarmory is also severely weakend by Lucario's Close Combat, as are most physical walls. Frail, fast sweepers easily die to Extremespeed as well, such as Jolteon and Weavile (rofl).

    Gallade @ Life Orb
    Jolly Nature- Steadfast
    252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP

    Swords Dance
    Close Combat
    Shadow Sneak
    Stone Edge

Jolly may seem a little odd on Gallade, but it still has enough power to OHKO Skarmory with a +2 LO CC with SR up, so I don't mind too much. Psycho Cut is a horribad STAB move in OU, so it doesn't even show up here. Stone Edge goes over it for general coverage, and can nail stuff like slower Zapdos, Dragonite, and Gyarados. Shadow Sneak works great in tandem with Lucario's Extremespeed, since they combined beat out all fast Pokemon that aren't Steel-Types (which usually die to Close Combat or Gyarados/Jolteon), as Gallade utilizes Shadow Sneak for Gengar and the Rotom formes. Gallade's Close Combat is just as powerful (if not a tad more) than Lucario's, and Gallade doesn't even have a boosting nature, making it extremely powerful.

Please give me some advice on this team, since there are quite a few annoying weaks I'd like to fix. However, Lucario and Gallade are non-negotioable, since they are what team is built around lol. Have fun with this team, and I hope you guys somewhat like it ^_^
