Team Rocket: The Revival

"Okay then, you lot were the least pathetic of all the sign up's. You are now members of Team Rocket, congratulations Grunts. As you know Team Rocket exists to steal pokémon to make profit... unfortunately not everyone agrees with our methods. One such organisation is the police force. While we are far better organised and stronger than the police force, they are nevertheless a nuisance. This being said, your first mission is to send a message to Police Forces around Kanto. You have all been told which pokémon you will receive... so when you receive your starter pokémon, each of you will be sent to a city in Kanto. When you reach this City, your mission is to steal Officer Jenny's Growlithe. When stealing Growlithe, you will leave one of the notes that are on the desk to my left. This will show the police force that they should never mess with Team Rocket! There is an airlift waiting to take all of you to your destination. Oh, and if you fail to retrieve your Growlithe... don't bother coming back!"

Dusty bounced up and down in apporval while cheering at the announcement.
"Woohoo! Alright!", he shouted high in the air. He ran over to the desk, grabbed the Rattata assigned to him, grabbed a note, and headed for the door leading outside.
"My first Pokemon!", he said giddily, "I can't believe I have one, and it's a cute little Rattata!", he said with a tiny tear of joy. He headed over to the plane airlift that would bring him to Pewter City. He opened the pink sack on his belt loop, and ate a piece of candy. 'I've never stolen a Pokemon before. I hope it isn't TOO difficult', he thought to himself.

The airlift began it's takeoff, lifted the wheels, and shot towards the outskirts of Pewter City. Once it landed, Dusty hopped out of the lift, and onto the ground.
~~~~~~~~~
After about thirty minutes, he arrived at Pewter City.
"Hey they have a museum!", he said, running towards it's entrance. Suddenly, he stopped. "They'll call the cops for sure if they see me in uniform!" he said aloud. He shot towards a bush, hid, and changed his clothing. He walked back into the open, and started at the museum again. "Yay!", he yelled excitedly.
~~~~~~~~~
After buying a few gifts from the museum gift shop, Dusty headed around, exploring the town. After another hour, he saw the police station. "Hey there it is!", he, yet again, shouted aloud.
The officers whipped their heads around, almost glaring a Dusty. He thought quickly, "Oh! Sorry! I've just heard that Pewter City's police force is one of the best! I thought I would visit it as my last stop here on vacation.", he said innocently.
The officers smiled, and agreed to give him a tour of the station. During the tour, he learned something very important, shift change hours.
~~~~~~~~~
Dusty's new Rattata bit the red chord connecting the alarm for the station.
"Ok Rattata, we've only got an hour. That Growlithe is about a two minute distance from us. The officers are changing their shifts, which means they will be up front. We'll go through this back door, hang a left, go into the room where they hold their Pokemon, and steal the Growlithe, leaving behind that note. Then, we haul our tails out of here, and go back to the lift. Got all of that?", explained as they took the left turn as mentioned. Rattata nodded her head in agreement. They came to the room where the Growlithe was kept inside of it's Pokeball. Just then, an officer came up behind Dusty.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" she shouted at Dusty.
Dusty smiled, "Cheating.", he reached inside of his candy pouch and threw gumballs onto the floor as the officer took a step forward, making her fall. Dusty grabbed Growlite's Pokeball and his new Rattata, and headed back out of the door. The officer pulled the alram switch, but the alram had another fifty minutes before it would reboot.
She had no backup, and no way of catching Dusty, who, was already in the airlift, and back at the Rocket base.
The officer got to her feet, and walked over to the note left behind by Dusty. It read:
"HAHAHAHA! This is just a taste of what we as Rockets can do! Fear Team Rocket, or you'll be sorry!"
Max coughed as he turned around a corner where a man stood holding a box. He was an admin apparently. Max walked up and the man gave him a Pokeball. "Hehe. Good luck with that stupid Koffing." he said.
Max glared at the man. "What? Got a problem noobie?" he asked really loud. A few other admins around looked their way and kept looking.
"Yeah you jerk! Leave my Pokemon alone or else!" Max shouted.
"Just go off on your stupid mission, noob." Max gritted his teeth. He clipepd his Pokeball on his belt and clenched his fists. Apparently thsi stupid, what? 16 year old didn't know who he was messing with.
He leapt on to the teen, knocking him down and spilling the rest of the pokeballs out of the box. The teen squirmed and managed to roll Max on the ground. "Listen squirt! Either you obey me, your leader, or else you get the worst life ever!" the guy shouted.
"As if I would listen to a weakling like you!" Max kicked the guy's leg and rolled him on his back and then punched his nose. The guy yelped in pain and bent down holding his nose. Max saw a little blood leak through his fingers and smirked.
"Wah!" Max yelped as a man grabed the back of his shirt and held him in the air. He looked behind himself and found probably an 18 year old holding him in the air. He gulped. He didn't know if he had a chance against this guy.
"First day for Team Rocket, and you could have been just thrown out. Lucky for you I'm nicer then I look. Now get out of here and go to your mission. He threw Max towards the exit of the building and max fell to the ground. Max stood up and rubbed his cheek where he had hit himself on the ground.
"Why should I!?" Max grumbled.
"Because I'm older and higher ranking then you." the admin said tending to the other guy.
Max turned around and mumbled under his breath "Yeah...so was he." then he left for the helicopter outside. The helicopter was huge and black and had a big 'R' on the side of it. Max stepped inside and was roughly handed a parachuet bag. Max shrugged and kept it with him, figuring it was in case they would crash.
Everyone left before him and now he was standing and looking out an open door over Cinnabar. A man stood behind him and Max had put the parachute on before now. "Ready to go kid?" he asked.
"Yeah. When we gonna land?" Max asked turning around.
"Land? Ha! You don't land. You jump!" and then he pushed Max out of the helicopter. Max wailed as he fell towards the ground. His heart was rapidly beating...he was glad that the 18 and 16 year olds weren't here right now.
Max fumbled and grabbed the part of the parachute and then pulled. The huge parachute flew out of the bag and he slowed down. IT was huge and black and had a huge red 'R' on it. A few minutes later Max landed on the ground. He fell to his feet and ook the bag off quickly. He figured Team Rocket didn't need it, so he threw the parachute in to the ocean.
He turned around and saw that the first building near him was a police station! Max smirked and took out Koffing, who he had made an acquantence to in the helicopter. He had nicknamed her Toxic. He walked over and a young lady with blue hair in a uniform stood there talking to another kid.
"Uh...Hi! I heard this police station is awesome and was wondering if I could get a tour before I left at the end of my vacation?" Max asked her.
The lady looked at the man, who nodded and showed him the way. While they were going towards the enterance was a Pokeball with a sign that had a picture behind it. Max smirked evilly and decided to learn as much as he could about the police station.
Once it was ifnished Max thanked the man and walked towards the enterance. The man nodded and turned around to get a cup of coffee. Before he left, Max swiped the Pokeball and replaced it with the note then left.
Max sat on the ocean coastline. Growlithe's Pokeball in his hand and Toxic floating next to him.
Sorry this kind of sucks...posts from now on will be better:D
Name: Alexander "Alex" Gladius
Age: 16
Appearance: Alex is considered tall at five feet and eleven inches. He has a somewhat fit body, but not to many muscles and not obvious in his appearance. His hair is short, black, and matted down. He has blue eyes that slant a little to the sides and slender skinny framed glasses over them. His skin complexion generally tends to be rich in color because of his tan and he is rather smooth with few hair anywhere, but his hair and without any pimples. He perfers to present himself nicely and so tends not to were his Team Rocket uniform unless required. His tuxedo, collared short, and other fine garments cover up his uniform and are usually accessorized by ties or badges when appropriate. He will wear Slacks, Jeans, and Kahki pants, but will not settle for anything less such as Sweat Pants. He strangely does not care too much for shoes and will wear almost any shoe that is not worn out. For adventures and missions he will also bring a light knapsack along with him and carry it upon his back.
Personality: Alex tends to be uptight, but good natured. He must have everything in proper order and has severe OCD. He tries to look his best and is always prim and proper. He comes off as a spoil child because of how throws his wide vocabulary around cuasing occasional miscommunications. He also can very critical about peoples mistakes and points them out so that they can be fixed, however, he does all of that with good intentions. He feels that order is the only right there can be and is trying to help people become more perfect. He also has a strong sense of justice and so always needs to justify an evil deed such as stealing stealing is simply "borrowing". He really does hate doing bad things and tries to avoid them.
History: Alex was born into a prestigous wealthy family and his parents would always buy him anything a child could want. Both his parents owned a Game Corner in Celadon and were very corrupt to any form of money. Alex grew up watching this and learned to hate his parents which contributed to his sense of justice. When he was ten he first ran away, but he was hauled back by the police and his parents became very strict. He was forced to dress very finally and get the best education regardless of what he thought. Alex had not wanted to go to private school or dress finely because he wished to be a normal innocent kid and began to hate his parents more. He ran away two times afterwards and this his is third time running away. He ran away to team rocket because of the insidents in Celadon City and Goldenrod.
Why does your character want to join TR?: Five years ago Team Rocket invaded Celadon City and stole money from his parents Game Corner. It was a great fiasco and drove his parents into a bit of a depression as well as deprived the game corner from buisness. Alex who hated his parents saw this as an act of heroism and developed a desire to join among thier ranks. That was the second time he atempted to escape, but was unable to because of his parents presence. During the revival two years later his parents had invested in a Game Corner in Goldenrod. At the first sign of the Team Rocket invasions his parents sprang up and headed for Goldenrod, but the usual magnet train was out and they had to go by boat. They would be gone for so long that he had time to successfully run away and traveled to Saffron so he could head north into Cerulean City. There he wittnessed a Team Rocket grunt encounter an even more mysterious man and watched the battle between them. Thier battle had impressed him and after the grunt lost he followed him to a Team Rocket base. There he trained in their training camp for the time being.
"Your my pokemon now! You have to obey me now and if I say let me heal you then please let me! I can't stand to see you injured!" Marissa said while crying over the Starly.
The Starly recently caught finally submitted to the tears and with its wing wiped them away and sat in her lap.
"Thank you." she whispered to him and she began applying the oran berries to his wounds.
When the Starly was treated she got up still recovering from when she was crying and yelled "Okay, let's go!".
She let the Starly walk next to her and continued walking up the path. The Starly was suddenly trembling. A demonic looking Staravia stared menacingly at the Starly. The Staravia flew past the Starly almost scratching it with its talons that were surrounded by a dark shadowy aura.
"Is this the demon of Sandgem Town? Is this what defeat my poor Starly? Is the power of the Virus?" Marissa said with tears streaming down.
"Starly were going to win!" Marissa said with a burning passion.
"Starly, Quick Attack now!" Marissa said with hell in her voice.
The Starly rapidly gained speed and slamed into the Staravia. The Staravia just chuckled at the impact and countered it by ramming it with its body surrounded by a dark aura. Starly fell back and onto the ground.
"Starly get up!" Marissa shouted.
It was too late and Starly was hit again by the VRUS Charge. The Starly imediate flew away before the Staravia could attack once more, however, Starly was severely injured. The Staravia charged at Starly again.
"Starly circle it and Growl!" Marissa commanded her Starly.
The Starly dodged the charging by circling around the Staravia like Marissa had told had told him and he was also growling fiercely at the Staravia. The Staravia realized that there was no way for him to hit the Starly with the VRUS charge and so he began jabbing at Starly. It was like a game of Whack a Mole, Starly was the mole and Staravia was the Hammer. Starly kept traveling around the Staravia in a circle while growling and Staravia was trying to hit the Starly where ever it was. The Staravia then suddenly switched from hitting the Starly in its clockwise pattern and jabbed its beak in the opposite direction. The Starly and the Staravia's beak eventually collided and the Staravia began Jabbing the Starly frantically. It did not hurt Starly a bit.
"What... the Peck's not hurting Starly at all. There's not even a STAB bonus. Does this mean that the Virus has the ability to strip a pokemon of one of its types?" a shocked Marissa said.
"Hmm, okay Starly tackle it!" Marissa commanded after digesting the realization.
The Starly broke free from Staravia's grasp and slammed it into a tree.
"Follow it up with your Quick Attack." screamed Marissa.
The Starly then flew back forth ramming the Staravia with a high speed attack every time it passed by.
"Now tackle the tree and grab a nice heavy rock." Marissa said with a smirk because it was similar to how she defeated Starly.
The Starly smirked back and rammed the tree causing apples to fall down on the Staravia. As the apples fell Starly had lifted a huge stone and dropped it over the fallen Staravia. The stone caused the apples to be crushed into juice that stung the Staravia's eyes and crushed it.
"Good work starly." Marissa said with her back turned away from the Staravia.
Behind her back though the Staravia was angry and he had charged a very dark aura round himself. He was gaining speed and swooped from where they had left him and spun around Marissa and her Starly.
The Staravia's speed was so incredible that the wind picked up with him and a whirl was forming just because of it.
"Starly spin in the opposite direction!" Marissa shouted caught of guard.
The Starly flew in a circle opposite of Staravia's and the wind began to die down. The Starly's whirl was reverse that of Staravia's and the two cancelled each other out. The Staravia had become dizzy after spinning so long.
"Now Starly finish it, Tackle attack!" Marissa shouted with no mercy.
The Starly slammed the dizzy Staravia into the ground and begin continuously slamming into the ground until Starly was sure it was unconscience.
"Let's go Starly" Marissa said coolly after extracting a sample of the Staravia's blood with her Syringe.
Chapter One: Introduction to a Life as a Criminal
"Okay then, you lot were the least pathetic of all the sign up's. You are now members of Team Rocket, congratulations Grunts. As you know Team Rocket exists to steal pokémon to make profit... unfortunately not everyone agrees with our methods. One such organisation is the police force. While we are far better organised and stronger than the police force, they are nevertheless a nuisance. This being said, your first mission is to send a message to Police Forces around Kanto. You have all been told which pokémon you will receive... so when you receive your starter pokémon, each of you will be sent to a city in Kanto. When you reach this City, your mission is to steal Officer Jenny's Growlithe. When stealing Growlithe, you will leave one of the notes that are on the desk to my left. This will show the police force that they should never mess with Team Rocket! There is an airlift waiting to take all of you to your destination. Oh, and if you fail to retrieve your Growlithe... don't bother coming back!"
Yura listened in interest. So she was to steal the reputed Officer Jenny's faithful Growlithe? Interesting!
When the speech ended, all of the new grunts were scattered across the room. Admins came and gave each of them a Pokemon. Some received theirs enthusiastically, some solemnly and some shrugging, not thinking it was a very big deal. Many released their Pokemon on the spot. A few were disappointed, but most cried out in joy. Yura herself was content with her own partner: she had been told she would be given an Ekans.
A hand tapped her shoulder. "You Miss Snowsdale?" The speaker was a tall man, dressed completely in black and wearing a large red R on the front of his shirt. An admin.
Yura nodded. The admin handed her a small red and white ball. Yura took it without a word, and dipped her head in respect. The admin, looking quite pleased, took off, shouting, "Mister Gladius! Is there anyone called Alexander Gladius?"
Yura smiled. People were easy to manipulate after all. She had just appealed to the admin's good side; she felt his support might be useful in the future. Then, she glanced at the Pokeball clutched in her hand. That night, she had seen an Ekans. A powerful snake Pokemon that could breathe smoke and choke its prey.
"Come out," she said softly. She tossed the ball into the air. It snapped open with a faint clicking sound. Red light escaped from it, taking form in the air. The crimson glow faded to reveal a large, purple snake Pokemon. It had a ring of gold around its neck. Five golden rattles were attached to its long tail. Its underbelly glowed gold and its golden eyes were fixed on Yura. The slits it had for pupils stared at the girl in an unwavering gaze. There was no doubt about it. This was an Ekans.
"Aww..." Yura cooed.
In a flash, the Ekans took on its full height, parting its jaws to reveal usually hidden, long sharp fangs and a forked tongue. It hissed menacingly.
Yura smiled. She raised her hand to reach the snake's head and petted it softly. The Ekans, surprised, slowly lowered itself. Soon, it was rubbing itself against Yura, making a soft, content hissing noise.
"Now, I have to give a name to a special creature like you, don't I?" Yura thought out loud. "How about...Pharaoh?" The snake Pokemon hissed in contentment.
"All right then, Pharoah," Yura said. "We've better get going, we've got a mission." Pharaoh slithered up Yura's body and curled itself up around her. And so they left.
The aircraft was waiting for them, at the roof. Yura exchanged greetings with the pilot, then hastily sat down on one of the leather seats, carefully avoiding to tread on Pharaoh's dangling tail. The aircraft took off. Yura felt it rise into the air and fly swiftly in the sky. Judging by the movement, she wouldn't be surprised if they were arrested just for flying at this speed. Suddenly, the craft halted to an abrupt stop.
"We're here," grumbled the pilot. "Saffron City. We're right above the police station, so just take a parachute and jump." He indicated several white bags laying on the floor.
"No thanks," Yura said lightly. "I don't need those." The pilot raised his eyebrows, but said nothing.
Yura took off her bag. Reaching into it, she pulled out a large machine. It was shaped like wings, covered in white dove feathers, with a strap in the middle to attach it. At the end was something resembling a rocket launcher. Strapping it on, Yura waved at the pilot and jumped off.
And she fell. Pressing the button at the end, the rocket roared to life. Hot fire sprouted from the hole. Pharaoh cried out in disapproval at the sudden change of temperature. Yura laughed as she soared in the air, landing gracefully on the hard roof. Turning her mechanical wings off, she plucked one feather off. She would need it.
She crept silently down the stairs. The officer's room was just a level below her. She wondered what strategy to use: break in with brute force and snatch the Pokemon, or cause a distraction and use stealth instead? She decided on the latter. Also, her new Pokemon would be perfect for the job. Walking, she noticed the fire alarms overhead. She smiled. She had an idea.
She ordered Pharaoh to gather the most flammable stuff as possible, like paper or wood, without being seen. The Ekans returned ten minutes later, hoarding a pile of crumpled paper and wood. Yura rewarded him by petting him gently on the head. Then, she took out her lighter. She didn't smoke, but she always carried it around with her, just in case she needed a source of light or fire. Like right now. She opened the lighter and watched as a small, orange flame appeared. She set on the pile of trash. With a flash, the whole thing caught on fire. Pharaoh hissed happily, warming itself around the flames.
It didn't take long for the fire alarm to go off. Less than ten seconds later, the whole building was echoing with shrill ringing. Pharaoh sulked, bothered by the loud nosie. Yura took him on her shoulders and ran swiftly down the stairs. During this time, the officers should be evacuating, just like everyone else. Good. All was going according to plan.
She was downstairs in no time. Slipping into the hallway, she saw the sign on the second door to the left: OFFICER JENNY'S OFFICE. The door was half open; the person must have ran out in a rush. A big rush, Yura confirmed, as on top of the wooden desk in the middle of the room, lay a small, shiny Pokeball.
Triumphant, Yura went over to the desk and snatched the ball. She glanced at Pharoah. The snake Pokemon knew what to do. He opened its jaws widely and swallowed the Pokemon in a fast gulp. The lump stayed below its throat, so that it wouldn't be touched by the Ekan's acid digestive juices.
She plunged her hand in her bag and took out a small, folded note. She threw it on the desk, placing the dove feather she had plucked off earlier next to it. There. Mission complete.
And she slipped back out of the room, leaving the door half-open like it was at her arrival, flew up the stairs, and stepped back outside, on the building's roof. Her wings were still there, laying against the stone wall. Strapping it on, she jumped off and flew, returning to Team Rocket Headquarters.
Later, after the firefighters had arrived and put out the fire, which, by that time, had grown quite big, Officer Jenny returned to her office to find her prized Pokeball missing, and in its place, a wrinkled note and a feather. The note read:
Beware: we will be watching you, for Team Rocket has eyes everywhere, spying on you from the deepest part of the abyss.
PS: Team Rocket is eternal.
The Criminal Organization,
Team Rocket
@ Neiko Star: Congrats that was the best steal so far. I liked the note at the end. Congrats Yura successfully stole a Growlithe. MISSION COMPLETE.
Ekans was nicknamed 'Pharoah'
You spelt Pharoah wrong lol it's actually spelt 'Pharaoh'. If you want to change it do so in the OOC thread.
"Come on Roshi!" the woman shouted beckoning to him with a smile to pedal faster while she peddled harder.
Alex had no idea why Marissa was calling him that and peddled harder. "Okay, Marissa!" he responded back with a smile. It had happen so quickly that he stepped out of bed and attended that meeting.
"Roshi! Don't call me that, you know what I like to be called" she pouted back.
"Okay, Lucy!" he shouted back just has happy. After the man had told him where to go, Celadon City he had been worried about seeing his family, but Marissa made everything feel better just by the cheery pleasure of that bike ride from Fuchsia. That all would soon end as Marissa came to a stop.
"Okay, Alex do you remember the mission" she whispered to him from behind a bush.
"Lucy?" he questioned back. She slapped him across the face.
"You drop the disguise. You're going to steal one those Officer's pokemon and show them the power of the team, K" she replied back to him and sent him through the gates into Celadon.
He shuffled down a few streets and past the busy crowds. He took some time to look at the Gym and shuffled past the Game Corner where he stood in reminecence. He was remembering his childhood when a figure approach and place its wrinkly hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, I know you!" the figure shouted causing Alex to shiver and stiffen.
"Yes..." he replied in a muffled deep quiet voice.
"You're the guy sold me that phone!" she shrieked at him. This caused Alex to almost collapse as tension was imedietly released and he discovered how foolish he had been.
"Yes, my good woman" he replied politely.
"It doesn't work!" she growled and began pounding on his leg.
"Um, that wasn't me?" he replied back and ran away. He bumped into something along the way.
An intoxicated Police Officer had stumbled out of a near by cafe and wasn't pleased with the young rapscallion knocking into him. The Police Officer slugged him into an ally and proceeded to attack him in the ally. The Police officer approached him. Alex fidgetted with the items at his side.
"Drowzee come on out!" he finally managed to shout and release it from its ball. The Drowzee came out and stared the cop down waving its nose up and down. The cop began to follow it and became dizzy until he finally collapse from hypnosis. Alex switched close with him and entered the cafe.
"I'd like a dozen!" he shouted throughout the cafe. The guests shot a glaze at him and the waiters brought him a dozen items. Alex dumped them down his vestige and ran out the door in a terrible home-made fatsuit after leaving a sign that read: I owe you. Alex had of course not paid for those entrees.
Next stop was the station. He had already formulated a plan and set about preparing his Drowzee. The two walked in casually in thier disguises and asked to be taken to Officer Jenny. The attendants complied and he was escorted to a back room. In the middle was the woman and a pokeball was on a chair to her side. The perfect moment.
"Now could you please leave us two alone" he beckoned to the attendants. They left soon after.
"Yes Officer what is it you would like to speak about? That Drowzee of yours awfully cute and shiny" she greeted to him and the Drowzee he had polished. She shook Alex's hand and bent down to shake Drowzee's nose. Moments later she collapsed from Drowzee's hypnosis.
He swiped the unattended pokeball and left the note that he had copied of from a fellow grunt which read:
Team Rocket will rise from the ashes and rule. We have stolen your pokemon that's how strong we are you city punks.
Alex stared at it hard and they decided to cross out the word stolen for borrowed. Alex would never steal despite the fact that he would probably never return it. He left the facility calmly and ran once outside to the area behind the bushes.
"Marissa, I'm here" he whispered.
OOC: There we go my first post. I hope it was okay. First posts are never my best post >.<
"Okay then, you lot were the least pathetic of all the sign up's. You are now members of Team Rocket, congratulations Grunts. With the conclusion of the speech the crowd around Rave cheered with approval. Rave himself wasn't very ecstatic about it. He had much more troubling things on his mind. For one he had just sold his soul to an evil organization for an encounter with his sister. Further burying his emotions Rave stepped forward to the admin who was approaching him.
"Here is your pokemon kid, now take it and your letter and get out of my face." The burly admin thrusted the pokeball and note into Rave's hands and stormed off.
"Well that went well." Rave muttered under his breath being sure it wasn't audible to the admin who had just left. "Now let's see what's inside of this thing." Putting the note into his pocket, then threw the pokeball into the air. A small cracking sound emitted from the pokeball followed by a bright red light that took the shape of a small bat.
Dan observed the blue bat; it seemed to be particularly interested in him. It was continuously circling over his head, and occasionally bumping into him. It was as if it had never seen the pokemon had never spent much time with people. Finally feeling he should take charge a bit Rave held his hand out in a fist.
"Come on, I won't bite" he said, gesturing the pokemon with his free hand. The small bat stared at the outstretched hand inquisitively before flying over and perching. Dan smiled at the pokemon and placed it on his left shoulder, where it sat contently. To any onlookers it would look as if he was a new age pirate
With all of the formalities out of the way Dan headed toward the hanger to find the helicopter that would take him to his destination, Cerulean City. After several minutes of navigating the winding hallways of the base he arrived at the hanger. There were only a few helicopters left, each of them jet black with a giant Red R on either side. Rave headed to the one that closest to him and entered. After relaying the pilot the info about his mission they took off, his Zubat squeaking with anticipation. Within about a half hour of travel the helicopter landed I in small field just outside of the city. It was the perfect place for relaxing as there were perfect sitting rocks and trees all around. Dan started to remember some of the times he spent with his dad just outside hanging out.
"Hey noob, stop staring at the grass and get a move on with your mission." Exclaimed the pilot angrily. "If you're not back in four hours I'm leaving you here, and I'll just tell the boss you got caught."
"Alright, no reason to get upset." Replied Dan, as he hopped out of the helicopter. "I'll be back in two hours tops, this task shouldn't be so hard." I have this all planed out, hopefully Zubat is up for the challenge. The boy thought to himself as he followed the brown dirt path into the town. To his surprise it was a pretty big city. The only other city he had really explored was Fusia and that was because his Dad took him there when he was younger. It was nice though, the building weren't too extravagant but build modesty. Also the people didn't seem as aggressive as those in Celadon. Zubat seemed to be rather pleased, she was flying behind him staring at everyone who passed. Occasionally a passerby would comment on how cute she was. When that did happen, Rave smiled at walked on. In a few minutes he found himself at the police station. Officer jenny was standing outside staring at what looked like a checklist. She didn't look as though she was stressed out or tense so Rave decided to continue with his plan.
"Umm, hi Officer." Said Rave softly, voice sounding somewhat intimidated. "I wanted to know if it was possible that I could apply for a job here. My family and I just moved here from Pewter and I was looking for some work to help fund my dream of traveling with my pokemon here" Zubat squawked loudly as if approving to the lies Dan had just spouted.
"I'm sorry kid but you look a little young for a job here." Said the officer; placing the clipboard on a small wooden table next to her. "Now if you want a position here the best I can do is possibly give a job cleaning the building, but I doubt you would like that very much."
Dan's face sunk at hearing these words, as if he lost all hope. "Officer Jenny I have a proposal. How about a battle with me and my Zubat. If I win you give me an application, and if you win I'll settle for cleaning up. I mean even at my level you could make me your apprentice, right?" Dan asked showing a small glint of hope in his bright green eyes.
The Officer stared into his eyes giving his challenge some quick thought. Within about thirty seconds she gave a small smirk. "Alright you're on. I'll use my new Growlithe, it needs some battle experience." Officer Jenny reached for the pokeball on her belt which was covered slightly by her blouse. The Officer threw the pokeball toward the ground letting out a red flash and the small orange red puppy.
"Okay Zubat, we can win this battle just listen to my commands and you'll be fine." The Zubat fluttered around head and then hovered toward the enemy pokemon. Both trainers took several steps back for safety and began the fight.
"Don't think I'm going to hold back on you because you're a kid" yelled the excited officer. "Growlithe use bite attack now!" The small puppy immediately couched down aiming its pounce then sprung into the air after its target.
"Zubat lets make this a quick and painless one. Said Dan in a rater serious tone "Now fly up and use supersonic." The bat rose several feet just barely evading the fangs of the Growlithe. As the small dog landed on the ground Zubat opened its mouth and let out a high pitched screech. Both trainers showed no sign of being affected by the move as the frequency was too high for them to be affected. However, the Growlithe was now running in circle wildly shooting out ember attacks into the air. "Zubat quick finish it off with leech life!" the small bat went into an instant dive and drove its fangs into the dogs neck, absorbing is energy through its blood. Squealing the dazed dog ran face front into the police station passing out on contact.
"Oh no Growlithe!" exclaimed the officer rushing over to comfort the fallen pokemon. I guess I have no choice but to give you the application. Maybe having you as my apprentice will be something good for this town. You seem like you'll be a great trainer. Come with me to my office." The blue haired woman again pulled out her pokeball, but this time returning the flame dog.
Entering the station the officer gestured at a chair in the waiting room. Dan sat without saying a word and the woman disappeared from sight. Dan's Zubat was busy flying around the room staring at pictures. When it found on it liked it would stare at it for a moment before bumping into it as it did on its first meeting with Dan. Within a minute or so the officer returned with small form and a pokeball.
"Here you go, just fill this out and drop it in that slot over there." She said pointing at three small slits in the wall each labeled different things. One was for applications, one was for missing pokemon or person report and the other for anonymous tips. "And this will be your first unofficial task." She continued referring to the red and white ball in her hand. "I want to take my Growlithe to the Pokemon Center for me. We normally start to get swamped with jobs around now so it would be very helpful to me." The officer let another smile cross her face and handed over the pokeball and the form. Dan smile back at her, not because his plan had worked but because the situation reminded him of several hours ago of how Team rocket accepted him.
"Alright, I'll get on it immediately. I'll just fill this out quickly before I go so you have it on record." Jenny smiled at his prompt response and headed into the other room. When she disappeared from sight Rave let out a small sigh of relief and looked down at the form. He took a black pen from his pocket and across the form signed the name Vance Raven. He then attached the note he received from the admin to the application and deposited it into the slot. Without taking another look back Dan returned Zubat to its pokeball and headed over to the pokemon center to heal the pokemon healed as he knew the higher-ups would not be pleased with a fainted pokemon. Or rather a pokemon that showed a sign of weakness. When his task was completed he headed back to the helicopter and boarded it.
"Looks like you're a man of your word kid." Chuckled the pilot. "You made it back in an hour, good work." The pilot then strapped up and took off in the direction of the base.
