Team suggestions?

I decided to do another play through of Gold since discovering the wonderful world of emulators! :P Thing is, I have a tradition of always choosing the water starter in Pokemon games, this time I'm thinking of taking Cyndaquil so I can get Typhlosion! I'm also thinking of swapping out Ursaring for something else, so I need suggestions on an Ursaring replacement and a good water recommendation!

What do you want to replace your Ursaring with? Is it going to be a water pokemon?
If it is, then I recommend Gyarados or Starmie
