Trainer Profiles:
User: liveitout
Name: Morgan Falkland
Age: 13
Physical Appearance: Morgan is a small, almost frail girl who hasn't hit puberty yet. She could pass for a 10-year-old. Adults call her cute. Her light blonde hair falls in a wispy haircut to her shoulders and into her eyes. Her skin is very pale and a little plump. She has a snub nose in a round face, clear blue-grey eyes, thin lips, and a nice smile.
Clothing: Morgan's clothing style is fairly eccentric. She goes in for retro accessories, like oversized tinted sunglasses and tye-dye shirts, then mixes it up with colourful neck bandanas and wooden waist beads. She owns two pairs of stylish, patterned rubber boots. In the summer, she wears bright hued spaghetti-strap tops and jean shorts or a knee-length pleated cotton skirt. She also carries a round brown tote bag that used to belong to her mom. On her shoulder, it looks far too large, but it does fit all of her things.
Personality: Morgan is rather tomboyish, or else she just hasn't outgrown that stage when splashing in puddles and looking for Poliwags was 'cool'. She likes biking and climbing trees and finds it hard to sit inside when the weather is nice. She reads National Geographic when she can get her hands on it and knows a lot of ecological trivia as a result. Her dream is to visit all the major geographic regions of the world, from the Sahara to the Great Barrier Reef. She acts on impulse. Her usual reaction to the unexpected is, "Awesome!" It takes a lot to make her lose her cheerful, animated exterior.
Starter Choice: Bulbasaur
User: ShadowYashi
Name: Hitomi Taylor
Age: 13
Physical Description: Hitomi is a light tan skinned individual, who stands 4 feet 8 inches, weighing in at approximately 135lbs. Hitomi has a round childish face and large childlike auburn colored eyes that are hidden behind a pair of thin framed black rimmed square shaped glasses. Hitomi's hair is messy and unkempt, falling just past her shoulders when she wears it out, which is only when she goes to bed, though one could never tell because she'll always keep it tied up in a sloppy side ponytail.
Hitomi's standard outfit consists of a sleeveless sky blue jacket, with a hood attached over a powdery graphic white shirt that reads "Precious" in an artistically scrawled pink that goes across her chest, she wear's a white skirt, with a rhinestone belt that has one side going lower than the other, that stops a few inches above her thighs with some shorts under it, long knee length sky blue and white striped socks cover her legs along with white and pink sneakers and slung across her shoulders is a neutral brown messenger bag.
Personality Description: Hitomi may look like a stereotypical mousy bookworm, but she is far from mousy or a bookworm, she's the exact opposite, with a fiery temper that makes most people tremble, she has a bit of a bossy personality and a weakness for anything cute, but she's also very goofy and absentminded at times, she's very accepting of people and Pokémon and has somewhat of a passive aggressive attitude when it comes to helping herself, she quick to help other in need but doesn't do much for herself. Hitomi is somewhat of a typical girl, she gushes about boys and loves to shop, she also loves to battle, especially strong trainers, to test her limits and prepare herself for the major leagues.
Region of Origin: Johto
Prior Experience: A Native to Johto, Hitomi is not unfamiliar with the mysterious creatures known as Pokémon, she had tried to challenge her own region's league but didn't make it very far, only managing to beat Claire, not having what it took to defeat the Elite Four, let alone making it to the Pokémon League, but losing hadn't discouraged her... alright, it did but only for a while, then she was back up and ready for action, with her Pokémon behind her all the way. Hitomi lives with both her parents, who own their own bakery, unfortunately for her parents, Hitomi can't cook to save her life which is why she has been ultimately banned from touching any electrical kitchen appliance in the house. So far as experience goes, Hitomi is a decent trainer at most and a fairly skilled battler at best, she doesn't have many preferences when it comes to types, though she is a bit superficial when it comes to their looks, but she is willing to overlook that fact if the Pokémon has some type of skill.
Starter Choice: Geodude
Physical Description:Sapphire has beautiful golden brown hair that falls down in loose ringlets to her
waist. She has sparkling sapphire blue eyes and her skin is quite clean and smooth. She doesn't believe in make-up and there fore does not wear any. As for clothes, she wears a white skirt and a white vest top with a black jacket that is left open at the chest. To finish the whole white and black theme, on her feet is white and black shoes with a small heel on them. Her height is 5'3 and that includes the small heels on the shoes. She also wears a black ribbon around her neck that has a bell on it, as though she was a cat. And of course for her journey she has a white and black bag that she has on her shoulder.
Personality Description: Sapphire is rather naïve and gullible, but can get angry very easily. Her biggest flaw is that when she's angry she turns violent and lashes out in a frenzy of harsh clenched fists and kicks at the person who played with her temper. Sapphire is also a fool for she quite easily falls for the opposite sex. In other words, if a guy walks over to her and charms her silly, she would undoubtedly do whatever he asked. Apart from that, Sapphire is quite friendly. Despite the short temper, many people find it easy to get a long with her. She's not an outcast but does like odd things. She loves the occult and often tries to scare those around her with tales of ghosts and supernatural happenings. She has a good sense of humor and prefers to be with other people than on her own.
Region of Origin: Kanto
Prior Experience: Her home has two pets. A Meowth and a Vaporeon. Meowth is pretty much just a pet for her but the Vaporeon is one of her best friends. When he was a little Eevee, Sapphire played with him a lot and she even went into battles with him. The day came when her father gave her a choice out of 3 special stones that would evolve the eevee into something completely new. Even though Sapphire was reluctant to evolve her friend, she still felt it was time that Eevee became a Vaporeon. So Sapphire has had battle experience and knows a little about evolution.
Starter Choice: Abra
Name: Maxx Thompson. [NPC]
Age: 15
History: Maxx Thompson is the son of Dr. Thompson's adopted son George. Maxx is fiercely competitive and will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. At first he was hailed as one of the most promising Pokémon masters in Terra history (as his vast amounts of knowledge of Kanto Pokémon rival that of his granfather's), until the day where a bicycle crash left him in a coma for six years. Having recently awoken from his coma, he is planning to make up for lost ground and speed his way through Terra to become the regional Pokémmon master. As an unfortunate side effect of the injury, Maxx has short term memory loss and difficulty connecting with his Pokémon.
Description: Standing at 5'10", 150 lbs., Maxx is by no means big. He makes up for his average size with an above average ego. His hair is beach blond and his eyes are a deep green.
OOC information: Maxx's character is designed to be the 'rival' character to each of the five trainers. If at any point your character is on the same town or route as Maxx, he may be challenged. The bonuses for winning are quite a bit of cash along with a great amount of experience for all Pokémon in your possession. Be warned, however, that Maxx (like the rival) will be 'one step ahead' - therefore, beating him will not be an easy task.
User: Kritis
Name: Kritis Witium
Age: 13
Physical Description: Kritis has dark green hair (which he dyed when he was 10) with bangs going down to his eyes and the rest even with his shoulders. He is not the most athletic person but is not heavy either, he stand at about 5' 7" and weighs roughly 120lbs. his outfit normally consists of any clean clothes he can find but his favorite (hint he wears during the RP) is a plain white T-Shirt and a pair of black cargo shorts.
Personality Description: Kritis is normally very quiet but very smart, if someone opens up to him first and offers to be friends Kritis the two become inseparable. Along with being shy if he is in a room full of People that he know and loves he normally won't shut up.
Region of Origin: Kanto
Prior Experience: Kritis had never been on a big journey to collect Gym Badges but he did train pokemon which he would use to guard his sister who was a Pokemon Coordinator.
Starter Choice: Charmander
Name: Bartholomew Jenson III (Bart)
Age: 13
Physical Description: Bartholomew is on the chubby side, at 180 lbs on a 5'4" frame. He tends to wear such clothing as a dress shirt covered with a designer suit and matching suit pants. His shoes glisten with the glare of the sun and are a deep black in color.
Personality Description: Bartholomew is the son of a wealthy business mogul and thus acts as if the world belongs to him. He is very superficial and pretentious and doesn't mind showing it. He treats Pokémon as he believes they should be treated: inferior.
Region of Origin: Rustboro City, Hoenn
Prior Experience: Due to the close ties of the Jenson family to Silph Co. in Saffron, Bartholomew was bought numerous Master Balls and was allowed to choose which Pokémon he wanted from anywhere across the nation. He picked a strong team of completely evolved Pokémon and ran through the Hoenn league, becoming very bored in the process due to lack of challenge.

Starter Choice: Squirtle

Hints and Tips:
Spoiler:
Battling
The first step in battling is looking at the available Pokémon in the area you are currently in. Make sure you roleplay yourself going to the specific area that they reside in, or the entire battle is nullified. Next, pick the Pokémon you want to face. These are the types:
Common: These Pokémon have no symbol next to their name and are generally easy to catch and battle. To succeed, all you have to do is type out a battle (minimum five paragraphs) and in the end leave the situation either to attempt a capture or to finish it off. State in an OOC message in bold which you are trying to accomplish. The only way to lose a battle like this is either type difference, bad grammar or typos, a short battle plan, or a large level difference. Common catch rate is 80%.
Rare: These Pokémon are the next notch up from Common, and will have [Rare] next to their name. These Pokémon have increased skills and require more detail to capture. If fought in battle, Rare Pokémon have a chance to escape and give no experience. Generally, you will want at minimum 15 paragraphs for one of these battles, and preferably a type advantage. Also, if the level outnumbers the level of the Pokémon you used most often during the battle, it will escape.
Capture rate for Rare Pokémon is 50%.
Very Rare: These Pokémon are the elite in their area. Very Rare Pokémon require the second most effort at a twenty paragraph minimum for capture. Also, they have a higher tendency to run. If the level of the most used Pokémon is within a three levels range of the Very Rare Pokémon the capture will be unsuccessful and the Pokémon will escape. Requires at least one Status Effect to be captured. Capture rate for Very Rare Pokémon is 20%.
Legendary: Occasionally, an announcement will be made in this thread about a spotted Legendary Pokémon. To attempt to battle or capture it, you must be the first to make your way to the location it was found in. After challenging it, you must post at minimum thirty paragraphs and include at six Pokémon in the battle. Legendary Pokémon must have at least two Status Effects on them to be capturable. The battle will fail if the Pokémon used most often is within a six level range of the Legendary Pokémon. Legendary Pokémon catch rate is 5%. Once you miss a Legendary, you will be unable to ever attempt capture of that specific Legendary and must miss out on the next spotted Legendary.
After choosing which Pokémon in the area you would like to battle, roleplay out the entire thing leading up to moment of capture or defeat. If the battle was unsuccessful, you will have one more chance to defeat or capture it before it flees. (this is only in effect for common and rare Pokémon). Make sure you are very descriptive!
Upon capture, the Pokémon will be in your party under your control. After defeat, all Pokémon you have used in the battle will gain a level. Gains for evolution or moves go into effect immediately after gaining the experience, even if an opponent has more Pokémon. Good luck!
Capture Rate
Capture rate is the number put into the generator at random.org that determines if a Pokémon was caught. Capture rate can be upped by using better balls, or by using a Status Effect on a Pokémon.
