I'm making a Gen 1 game. Editing maps and in-game text. How do I test my creation without playing through? Is there anyway to do this with Gen 1?

You could always write your own asm routines that test specific functionality in the game, but the best way to test that everything works out is simply by playing the game and debugging.

Because you're not editing any in-game code, debugging is really not necessary.
