But thats a hand-drawn comic, sprite comics are smaller, there for speech bubbles would take up to much room.
IDK, I'm both ways really, I don't mind witch one is used.
Just so long as the story and art is good.
How is it different? Can't you comprehend the word? Sprite Comic. Get it?
Your point in speech bubbles taking up too much space fails, newer comics have panels in varied size (depending on the speech bubbles and the pictures), why don't you try and do it the way comic authors do?

A good example would be the PPG Doujinshi

Did someone made that? thats really good. He used the speech bubbles well.

I don't think some one made it like we do comics(or you), but it does look good, but it has more space for bubbles.

My reasons for liking text under panels:
#Lots of space - more text means the reader can understand what's going on.
#The reader can see all of the pictures fully. No text covering parts of the pictures.
#Order - the reader can read all the text in the correct order without getting confused, no more: "which bubble do I read first??"
#Different colours can be used for different characters, not only does this help the reader, but it can look very good too.
#Frames can be put around the text to make it more decorative and nice to look at.

Don't get me wrong, speech bubbles ar great too, one of the best examples of a comic using speech bubbles is PokeChow by blueguy. I just prefer text under panels ^_^

But I wouldn't want everyone's comics to use the same style, it would make everything boring. If different people use different styles, and try new things, the world will be a happier place ^_^

*whipes tear off**claps*, nice speech, and I agree everybody doing the same style would be boring.

Then you obviously don't know much about the making of comics. Speech Bubbles do have order, if you know how to make comics, you'd know this.

No offense, but if all you can do is say "I agree" then I don't think you should be debating here.

Look I don't want to flame, I said that I prefer under the panel text, I also agree on what Newten said, If you have a problem deal with it.

Ya know what Newton, you can do most of that stuff with speech bubbles.

Okay I got an idea that will settle this once and for all. Lets tell the administartor to make a Fan Fic section, that way we can post our fan fics there and this will be for sprite comics. Isn't that a better idea?

Ahh, now I was going to say something about this. You see speech bubbles can have order but sometimes they don't. But with text under panels, unless the comic maker is seriosly thick, it's always in order because all you do is read from top to bottom.

It all depends on the comic maker I suppose.

Anyway I don't know why we are having this debate, some people like one style, some people like another, why do we have to have this huge war about it?

No its because noob's just think that other cant be difrent....
that is why theres no need for this thread....

I dunno. In overworld comics, I do under, rather next to the panel. In comics like my PC series, I use speech bubbles.

Last time I checked, it's a debate thread.
n00bs don't wanna be proven wrong.

This forum is called sprite COMICs, not sprite FANFICS, so people should be using text bubbles a lot more. If the panels are big enough, the speech bubbles don't hide much at all.

Oooh....! I'll participate.

My opinion: A sprite comic is called a sprite comic for a reason, because it's a comic, using sprites.

Speechbubbles = organization, aesthetic beauty, effort
Text under panel = too much text and/or lazyness

If you find that your characters are doing monologues, perhaps you would be better suited to doing a fanfic.
