    Ok, so I was looking at moves for my Umbreon, and I noticed a move call Moonlight. Moonlight restores 50% HP, however, it restores 33% if raining, and 100% if it's sunny. What? 100% HP for using moonlight when it's sunny. Wouldn't it be 0% HP because it's sunny? That doesn't make any sense! :\

    Anyway, I made this thread for anyone who wants to post to tell about any moves they've come across like this...And to discuss them.

    Yeah that is weird. (Moonlight now recovers 2/3 of max HP since 3rd gen now, as does Synthesis and Morning Sun)

    Gastly learning the punch-TMs and Wooper/Torchic leaning Mega Punch. THEY HAVE NO ARMS!
     
    Technically, the moonlight that is being given is the same as sunlight. The moon emits no light by itself, all of the brightness given from the moon is actually the reflection of sunlight off of it. So in a way, moonlight and sunlight are the same. Does that make sense? XD
     
    i guess the move moonlight is about light in the dark.. so when the sun is shining there is even more light.. uuuhhhh

    True, but here me out:
    Sunny day is a move that makes the sun very bright. Meaning the sun would be high in the sky, bright as ever. The reason we can't see the moon in the day is because the sun is so bright it pretty much "over shines" it. So, with the sun being so bright, wouldn't the moon be "over shined" and not be visible? How could the "moon's light" heal a Pokemon if the moon isn't even visible? Lol, I could hurt myself thinking about this :\

    What? Maybe moonlight is about light in the dark, but when the sun is shining there is no dark at all...

    That may be true... but you must remember this is Pokemon we're talking about. Things don't always follow the most perfect logical sense. XD

    Also, you could basically argue that since the Sun's light is being reflected off the moon anyway, the light absorbed is still technically the same. Therefore, getting it from the Sun would just be a more direct method.
