Kitt crawled the rest of the way up the volcano, and was exhausted when she got to the cave, but she had found what she was looking for. There, curled up in the corner of the cave, was a slumbering Pokemon. Typhlosion!
Kitt dashed over to the Typhlosion and started shaking her, shouting 'Dad! Dad, wake up! Dad, we've gotta get outta here!' But the Typhlosion just rolled over, continuing to dream. Kitt just shook her head and sat down next to him. 'I should have known he would be too tired.' But then she had an idea. But if it didn't work then she would have to carry Typhlosion out of the cave, and that was practically impossible.
Kitt felt herself fall onto her hands, which changed into paws. A tail sprouted, and fur emerged where her skin once was. Within a few seconds she had become a Ninetales. Kitt turned back to Typhlosion and nudged him gently, hoping he would recognise the feeling.
'Nine, nine nine!' /Come on Dad, please wake up!/ Kitt cried. She felt the tears fall down her furry face, and she didn't notice them drip onto Typhlosion's face. Typhlosion flinched, and slowly his eyes opened. As he sat up he yawned and scratched his stomach.
'Baaruuu?' /What's wrong?/ he asked softly.
'Nine, nine nine, nine!'/Dad, you're in danger! Don't ask any questions, just follow me!/ Kitt said in a hurried voice. Then she darted out of the cave, forgetting to transform back. Typhlosion was left standing in the cave, confused and alarmed. But nonetheless he followed Kitt down the side of the volcano. They raced towards the bottom, stopping at the soot covered trees, completely forgetting that there was a group of people nearby.
Typhlosion looked up at the furious Groudon, and grolwed 'Baruu, floow, ruuu' /Oh, no. What's happening?/ Kitt looked up at the Groudon, feeling a sense that she had to do something to help.
Just then, she noticed the group of trainers behind her and then quietly said 'Nine, nine. Tales, nine ninetales.' /Forget Groudon, we got bigger fish right behind us./
