A slightly clearer picture of the shining Pokémon (in the sense that the anatomy is more distinguishable):

How can anyone dispute that? The anatomy is identical, the aura surrounding it is the same, and Ash even exclaims "It's Ho-Oh!" upon seeing it (if I remember correctly he identifies the Pokémon he saw in the first episode as Ho-Oh soon after meeting Morty for the first time). I've never seen anyone posit that the Pokémon might be Fearow before now. ._.;
