This seems really fun. I wanna give this a go.

Optional Rules/Tweaks?: I'll be doing a run through all of the generations until Gen 8, as I don't have any of the Generation 9 games. I'll be starting in Heart Gold. I have to catch 1 Pokémon each route, to emulate Ash's "Gotta catch them all" mentality.

Dear Diary: Today was the day I set off on an adventure with Growly. I woke up in the early morning and was greeted by my mom, who said that Professor Elm needed me. So, I headed over to Elm's lab. I noticed a red haired boy staring through a window at the side of the lab, but I didn't pay much notice to him. Elm proceeded to ask me to head to Mr. Pokémon's house after getting a message from him, so off I went through route 29. I was stopped by an Old Man in Cherrygrove, who showed me around and gave me some running shoes and a map card. I proceeded to Mr. Pokémon's house and met him and Professor Oak, who gave me a Pokédex. Mr. Pokemon then handed me his discovery: A Pokémon egg. Elm then called about a robbery taking place and I raced over there, but not before running into the same Red-Haired guy from earlier. I instantly thought "He must be the one" and challenged him to a Pokémon battle. Lo and behold, he sent out the stolen Chikorita. I beat him rather easily because of Growly's fire type advantage, and he quickly fled with the Chikorita. But not before dropping his trainer card and I caught his name: Silver. I ran to Elm's lab and told the police everything, before setting out on my journey for real. I proceeded to head towards Violet City and caught Geovani the Geodude, Parker the Spinarak, Sparcy the Dunsparce, Freepie the Metapod, and Reepy the Mareep. I decided to do some training in Sprout Tower, where I caught Ghosty the Ghastly. Freepie also evolved into a Butterfree while I was training in there. I quickly made my way to the top, where I once again found Silver. He had beaten the Elder and then fled. I challenged the Elder next and managed to beat him and earned the TM for flash. Next, I set my eyes on the Violet City Gym and brought Reepy and Freepie. I easily beat them and earned my first gym badge.
