I know there is food for them to eat, but like I said, they would still be malnourished. I mean, didn't you see the Southern Air Temple? It's completely dry. Sure, they may be able to eat snow for water, but snow has been on the ground and the ground is contaminated by bacteria.
As well as that..eating lemur?! I would get sick of it after two weeks. Not having a rounded diet can lead to vitamin deficiency and bone marrow diseases.
Sure, there may be fruit there, but they don't know if it's clean or not. There may be mold, bacteria, fungi, etc. inside of it which can lead to disease.
And besides all of that..Just eating fruit, lemur, and snow for 100 years could make someone sick, couldn't it? Trust me, I've taken 3 1/2 (It's midterms for me next week. x33) years of health and I know what I'm talking about. Meat, Fruit, and Water are merely half of the nutrients people need to survive.
But then again..Why should I argue? It's a kid's show..I mean, King Bhumi has lived for 112 or so years, and he almost busted Aang with his Earthbending.
