The Battle Frontier... in Kanto?

nicoleb: It's logical that they did that. I mean, Shigeru wanted to be a researcher like his grandfather, Ookido-hakase, and it works in the way that Satoshi doesn't have the same rival putting him down or that sort. Plus, they had to make him a researcher so that Shigeru's OVA could earn leave - his OVA is only really present when it comes to producing Hosou Shuukan (and possibly Pok?mon Sunday, which only airs encores and the group with Treecko at the moment).
Maybe, but I still wish they'd stop changing everything.

Change is nice in the anime though. i don't get why all of you hate the Battle FRontier. It seems like all the big long country arcs are boring. I mean yes, they have some episode that are cool, but they tend to have a mediocre pattern. At least for fillers like Battle Frontier and Orange Islands it's a little spice and change.

They won't have time fillers. DP starts in autumn. Orange Islands lasted 30 episodes, and it only had four gym leaders and a short league. Battle Frontier will probably last as long as Johto Journeys, about 50 I think.
<offtopic> omg HI DIGITAL PHOENIX! </offtopic>

It's just frusterating to me that they have to get rid of all the good pokemon each season @@'

Bring back CROBAT! ^0^

Yanno, I'm GLAD the Battle Frontier's in Kanto. Then we won't have to endure another piece of crap boating episode requiring Satoshi-tachi to board a ship, travel to Houen and the travel all the way to the Battle Frontier. It's just much easier traveling Kanto, especially in locations we DIDN'T get to see or didn't see much of back in the old days of Pocket Monsters.

And what's wrong with Kikuko now being the Gym Leader? o_O The place collapsed after the Rocket Gang screwed up their battle with Satoshi. Kikuko took over the damaged Gym after it was rebuilt. Remember, the Elite Four doesn't exist in the anime like it does in the games simply because the League in the anime is nothing like in the games. Plus it makes sense to have these trainers, the strongest of all, to be traveling the world rather than sit around and wait for kids to battle them.

Hmmm... I didn't think of it like that. But, yeah, since all the trainers in the Anime are so weak and will never reach the Elite Four, putting one in the gym would allow them to. Even if it is another random twist. But who's notice another one in the Anime by now?

EDIT: Does anyone want to make a bet? How far will Ash last in the Battle Frontier? Not far, not far. I'd be willing to bet anything that he won't even get to meet all the Area Leaders. Oh... And maybe we'll even see Will or Karen as an area leader. Another plot twist.

They're not recognized as "Elite Four" members in the actual episodes themselves, but rather a incredibly strong trainers that travel the world. The only time I can recall mentions of them being Elite Four members were for the Japanese titles, and that was simply to tell who is specifically that character.

And if this is going to go exactly as I think it is..I expect Satoshi will pull a victory with this like he did in the Orange Islands and then lose in the next main region. >_>;

For the beginning of Battle Frontier Satoshi has: Pikachu, Swellow, Grovyle, Corphish and Phanphy.

Phanpy!!! Spell it right!

I like the idea of the Battle Frontier facilities being spread out across Kanto. I hope the gang run into some old friends.
Do you think that they could run into some Gym Leaders? If they are gonna pass through the towns and cities again then it would be rude not to call in and say hello or have anther battle...

I can't see this series being a "filler series", but D/P doesn't need to start at exactly the same time as when the games are released. I don't even believe that they are being released in November, we've had no info about the games themselves so I guess we have time and hopefully this won't be rushed.

I don't know about this series being as much of a "Filler" series as say the Whirl Islands or Orange Islands... But it'll probably last as long. Of course they could also drag it out, since they're spread out.

They make a reference to the Elite Four in Kanto, but never really tell you who they are. That's all you hear about them so far in the series (Perhaps another forgotten element in Pokemon).

I personally hope that this one is at least different from a typical Region, because it sounds like it's going to be similar to me...

To come to the facility leaders should be fun. I'd expect he'd lose to the leaders quite a bit. But I note that only 6 locations show on the map. Where's the seventh? Is it supposed to be significant (like a last stop)?
From what I see, one of the locations is near the Indigo Plateau, so maybe that's where the last leader is....

It's basically a Kanto Redux... Just in a different way than I originally thought it would be...

i tihnk in it phanpy will evolve kinda quite a bit later tho and i feel certain grovyle will evolve
i just feel it but it would be cool if he dose is it really the best thing
phanpy evolveing wont be to me lol i love phanpy adorabley cute lol

i think misty will come back again in the new kanto series to see ash compete in the battle frontier

one question, have they ever talked about shadow lugia?

Unless they would really go to Orre, but that's very unlikely.

Celebi had a lot to do with Colosseum, so it could be a hint...or just coincidence.XD

Well, it was Japan's way of giving the gamers Serebii. Seeing as how that's the only way of getting it, through the pre-order bonus disc in Japan.

I never had the chance to get Celebi, so I didn't know how to get it. XD Wasn't there something about the GS Ball in Japan?
*thinks this is getting a litte bit offtopic XD* Um....anyone else think that the "star" in the Middle is Maiden's Peak?
