I read the manga, he' good. :) .
Iwould say Kenshin and some more.

best samurai anime is samurai champloo, because it have the best movements in battle, the story isnt so good like the ones of samurai deper kyo and ruroni kenshin but still is cool.

Uhh...Kenshin, eaisly. He's probably had the most training out of the three, he is a stratigic master, there's little anyone else could do to stop him...Now if he wasn't dead....

Actually, Kenshin is no Samurai. He is an assassin who fought for the Meiji group in Kyoto, which became the government afterwards. After he became a wanderer.
There are people in the series that are old Samurai, but during the Meiji period, Samurai's were disbanded(making for lots of hatred toward the Meiji government for banning swords).
But if you wanna say the best swordfighing anime, Kenshin would be the best IMO. I've already gotten the entire series on boxsets.

He is a samurai, he trained as one for 9 years.

yes he is an assasin samurai, i dont like alot the anime itself, i like more the movies; trust and betray, and reflection

I'd say Makai Tensei. It has Hattori Hanzou, Shiro Amakusa, Jubei Yagyu, AND Miyamoto Musashi.

Though Kenshin does kick maximum butt.

To be a Samurai, you have to be born as one.
Training has nothing to do with it.
during the Tokugawa Period samurai was a heredity and locked social class

Out of those, I've seen Kyo and X. Out of those two, I would go with Kenshin...

Not always, in some RARE cases a person would be accepted as one if a master saw great potential in them.

There's also the fact that most Samurai were more open in their movements. The went to war openly on battlefields and if they guarded a castle, they would either protect the Shogun or fight near the castle. They even wore heavy armor. Kenshin never wore armor. Slows his movements.
Kenshin was never open in his movements when he was a Hitokiri. He killed in dark alleys and on empty roads. He was very careful like a ninja. Thats why he was an assassin. The Shinsengumi were more like Samurai. They moved openly a lot and killed anyone that wasn't good(Aku Zoku San, Saito's creed).

Shinsengumi were hired though, most Samurai protected because of it being their civi duty, or because they were born into it.

Meow... I'd mainly call Kenshin a Swordsman more than a Samurai... Technically, as Kenta says, he's not a Samurai - Although he would look and fight like one. He is not a Ninja either, so the term Hitokiri (in the past) and Wanderer (in the present) would be more appropriate for him.

Anyways, there is no doubt that Kenshin pwns them all...! XD
