This is my first fanfiction ever :) It is divided into parts and this is the first one.
Part 1
I opened my eyes. My vision adjusted to the darkness. Where am I? My ankles were submerged in cold water like I was in a shallow pond. But I felt like I was inside. It was too dark to see anything except for the moon that shone brightly above me. But how can I see the moon if I am inside? Nothing makes sense. I don't remember where I was or what I was doing before I got here. In fact, all I remember is that my name is Brent Irving and that I am a Pokémon trainer. Where are my Pokémon? I check my pockets and they are gone. I began to panic.
"Boomer! Dash! Where are you guys?" I screamed.
Boomer was my Machop and dash was my Ponyta. I was not a successful trainer yet. I only had three badges. I took out my badges, I had three badges. They were smudged and scratched and are illegible so I couldn't identify them. I took a deep breath. The air was salty like a beach. I tried to imagine where I was. It felt like I was in a cavern with a small pond that lead to the ocean. There must be a hole in the ceiling of the cavern and that was why I can see the moon.
My bag was gone, my Pokémon are gone, and memory is gone. The only things that I still have are my badges, which aren't a huge help. I begin to creep around my surroundings. Maybe…just maybe I can find a way out. I can't see anything at all and I begin to get a little more vigilant. I hear my feet splash as I trudge across the tiny pond. I feel little bumps of fish Pokémon on my feet as I walk. My vision is slightly adjusting to the darkness, and I can slightly see stalagmites and stalactites around me. This cave was huge and I feel like I am never going to escape.
Suddenly…I heard a loud crash.
"Boomer?! Dash?!" I cried out.
What was that noise? It sounded like it was to the right of me. I turned to my right and followed the loud noise. The entire cave grew silent after that loud and odd noise. I was beginning to worry that the noise was my pokemon getting mauled. I shivered at that thought. If I lose my Pokémon I am hopeless. I will not have anything to protect me and this cave seems really dangerous.
CRASH!
The second noise was right in front of me. I leapt backwards as I saw a big splash of water. A big blue dragon popped out of the water and roared ferociously. I stumbled backwards and tripped. The Gyrados seemed in pain. Something was disturbing it. I could hardly see the great big Pokémon, but I can notice something very distinct about it. It had a neon green rope tied to its neck. The Gyrados was being pulled backwards by the rope. What was pulling that rope though?
The Gyrados roared once more and it sent a chilling shiver down my spine. More ropes came and pulled on the Gyrados. The Pokémon thrashed around, but it was no match for the ropes. The Gyrados collapsed and I saw a tiny dart stuck in its back. Whoever is doing this is not a Pokémon. The great Gyrados was being tugged away, but I couldn't notice ant humans. It was too dark.
So I followed the Gyrados.
I tried to be as quiet as possible as I followed. I occasionally hid behind large stalactites or boulders. I had a feeling that whoever is dragging that Gyrados has something to do with Boomer and Dash. I realized that I was walking on a rock patch that split the pond in half. This path wasn't natural and I think it leads to something important. I remained quiet and I heard the people whispering as they dragged the Gyrados.
"Oh man! Luther is gunna be overjoyed!" A lady with a pretty low voice whispered.
"I know! This was a great capture!" Another man with a raspy deep voice replied.
"I can't wait to see the look on his face when we hand this oaf over to him! We might get a promotion!" Said a third voice. It belonged to a teenage boy.
"PRIMEAPE!" cried a Primeape.
"SSSH! Quiet down Rocco!" The teenage boy said.
I was shocked to hear the voices. I imagined a muscular and tough teenage boy with a Primape double the size of him. The man sounded tall and muscular as well. The lady sounded mischievous and cunning. This group of people sounded tough and viscous. I wonder who Luther is. I continued to eavesdrop.
"Jack, what have we caught today?" The woman asked.
"Well…this Gyrados…a few Slowbros…and a Ponyta and a Machop." The teenage boy said.
My heart skipped a beat. These people do know where my Pokémon are. Without thinking I leapt forward and tackled the teenage boy.
Everyone leaped backwards in surprise and the teenage boy yelled in horror. He wasn't muscular or tough as i imagined. He was pretty frail. I repeatedly punched him in the chest. I saw his face. I know I have seen it before. His dark and sinister face brings back memories that I cannot capture. Who is this kid?
"Where are the Pokémon?" I demand.
The kid began to cry and moan. I was so filled with anger and hatred. I couldn't control it. The man sprinted up to me and tried to grab me. I spun around and punched him across the face. He stumbled backwards and tripped. His head bashed against a rock. The man was unconscious. The lady shrieked in terror and ran away. I thought about chasing after her but I had a better plan. I searched the man's pockets and found what I was looking for. An ultra ball. The Gyrados was unconscious already so it would be an easy catch. I flung the ultra ball to the Gyrados. The ball swallowed the Pokémon and began to shake rapidly. I waited patiently and the ball stopped shaking. I had the Gyrados on my side.
I sprinted in the lady's direction. She was an extremely slow runner because when I turned the corner I saw her in the distance. I sprinted faster and tried to catch up to her. She looked behind and screamed when she saw me. The lady pulled out a pokeball and a Dodrio popped out. She leapt onto the Dodrio's back and sprinted into the darkness. I lost hope; I could never catch up to that Pokémon.
I collapsed on the floor and closed my eyes. A few moments later I was fast asleep.
