The Chess Challenge!

I am big fan of Chess and I've been playing for a year and a half now, so I want to include Chess into my favorite game (Pokemon) and most importantly my favorite pass-time (challenges). Who knows, maybe I'll start an era of "other game" based challenges like a CoD challenge or a Yu-Gi-Oh challenge. I can talk about this all day, but I will be afraid that I will lose your attention, so let's get on with the show.


Pokemon Restrictions:

-You must have one Male Pokemon, it must evolve completely before the Elite Four, it is your King. You must capture this Pokemon before you battle the Cerulean/Goldenrod/Mauville/Hearthome/Castelia Gym leader. (Or Mirror B in Collo/XD.)

-You must have one Female Pokemon, it must evolve completely before the Elite Four, it must be the same egg group as the King, it is your Queen. It must be obtained AFTER you get your King, and you must get it before your next gym badge.

-You must have one Pokemon that must be it's 2nd Staged Form (Herdier, Servine, Kirlia) it is the only Pokemon that can learn TMs, it is the Bishop.

-You must have one Pokemon that has all Attacking Moves, it is your Knight.

-You must have one Defensive Pokemon (2 Defensive Moves at Minimum), if it is the same type as your king, it can evolve, it is your Rook.

-You must catch the first Pokemon you find in your challenge, it can only evolve if it solos a gym leader, it is your Pawn.

Game Restrictions / Benefits:

-You can trade over your Rook from another game if you have your King (Castling)

-By "trashing" a Tm you can switch your Pawn for the next Pokemon you catch. If your playing B/W you must trash a Elemental Gem, like Rock Gem for example. (En Passant)

-After a gym, your Pawn can take place of the Queen, Knight, Rook or Bishop.(Promotion/Underpromotion)

- If your King faints, you must select one Pokemon on your team to remove from your team instead (Check/Checkmate)

-You may only grind if you get a total wipeout (Stalemate)

I will be doing this challenge. I think it might be Light Platnium version since it looks like a nice put together rom, if a hack isn't acceptable most likely Moemon Fire Red probably.

So no one else can use TM's except the bishop, and does the starter count as the first Pokemon you catch, or the very first thing you run into when you are able to get pokeballs

are you ever allowed to go buy a TM in a department store and then ditch it to keep rotating your pawn D:

I don't usually have large updates, but this time I'm going to make an exception because I've never done one of these with so many rules, and if I write down everything I do I'll pay attention and be careful when it comes letting my King or Queen faint and such, but since it involves a hack ROM that some people might not have played and length I will be using /Spoiler

Beginning of Laure's Adventure
Summary: Started out with ChimChar, got HM01, Got Combee as a Pawn, challenged the gym leader, King fainted, so ditched Combee and got Spinark as new Pawn. Got first badge. Oh, and Laure isn't a fan of Light Platnium Version, I thought it was complete, but it still needs a lot of work obviously.

Spoiler:

-Pokemon Light Platinum was translated badly but I'm sucking it up cause it looks like there will be a better choice of pokes in this game
-Started out with Chimchar just because I pressed the spacebar and didn't know it was time to pick a Pokemon yet, but at least it cut to the chase
-Ran around and found Brendan, well his name is Brendan but he looks nothing like Brendan bleh, and my hair is too big
-I didn't get a chance to nickname my Chimchar, that makes me sad cause I wanted to name it King. Boo hoo.

-No Pokeballs in the first Pokemart, wtf is up with this I'm not digging it >: NOT DIGGING IT ALL. THE TRANSLATION IS TERRIBLE J/S
-I obtained a Pokeball.... time to Walk in the grass...

-and that didn't matter because the Growlithe Roared me away, so boo
-and I don't know if I'm breaking the rules or not, but I ran into a Groagunk oh and even though I weakened it into the red and it bursted out of my Pokeball, might as well kill myself
-I discovered that there is Buizel's in the wild here, that is my fav Pokemon, I hope that's the one I run into once I get a Pokeball
-Chimchar is at Lv. 11 now from all these trainers in the area to the next city
-Omg I need Pokeballs why is this being horrible?
-Oh Houndour is in the wild to, even though it'd probably be a d-bag and roar at me too and I really don't need another fire type on my team
-I've got to keep in mind that if my King faints I will have trouble, so I'm doing my hardest to always run to the Pokemon Center every chance I get
-Fought a Fisherman and at Lv. 14 Chimchar is evolving

-When it evolved it learned Mach Punch, which is awesome to knock the normals out
-There is cute little Metapods in the tree, they are cute so that is one of pro of this game
-Now it looks like I have to go through a whole forest til I get to the next town, boo I NEED A POKEBALL
-Oh I'm a liar I'm in the next town, Pokemon Center and Pokeball time
-Went to the Cutter's House and obtained HM01, I have to keep in mind there will be no HM Slaves in this game I have to give them to my party
-Bought 10 Pokeballs, just for lolz I'm going to see what kind of gym is in the first town
-Insect Gym, so I don't really need to worry about leveling up the Pokemon I'm about to catch
-Getting ready to go into the wild and find me a Pawn

-My Pokemon is at lv. 14 I am just going to have to throw Pokeballs and hope for the best
-Oh Mach Punch isn't very effective, that's fine
-Still can't catch it wtf is up with the catch rate in this game, my king needs a potion
-Threw a Premier Ball, woot got it I name it Pawn
-This hack really is fail it comes up as Rhyhorn in the Pokedex -_-'
-I think my Pawn is just going to hang out until I have a TM to discard. I hate Combee
-Some guy that can't speak english since this is a horrible translation is asking for a battle, his butt is in front of the gym, so sure why not?
-His name is Diamond, clearly one of the rivals, he sent out Rilou, I was like, oh no, and beat it with Mach Punch and Ember
-Monoferno grew to lv. 15
-Once it grew to lv. 16 it wants to learn Fury Swipes, nah Mach Punch is fine
-Time to fight Jessica the bug gym leader
-Monferno used Ember on Spinark, Spinark survives and poision stings me
-Jessica used potion, but my 2nd ember killed the spider
-Jessica sends out Vespiquen
-Incase that thing is up to any funny business I'm going to use taunt, which was good cause it was going to use double team
-Used Ember, it used tackle
-Ember, Double Team
-Ember, Double Team
-Horn Attack and I'm down to 8 HP, I can't lose the king (not that I have anything to sacrafice, but I shouldn't risk it, so super potion)
-I used Mach Punch thinking it would end this, but effect spore made me fall asleep
-and the King died, but that is Okay cause I hate Combee
-Laure Whited out... bye Combee
-I think once I get rid of it I should get me a new Pawn, and hopefully one that is helpful
-First Pokemon I run into once dumping Combee is Spinark
-I caught it, and it shall be the new Pawn
-I'm going to try and train the Pawn a little maybe it can learn some poision types so I can try and solo against the 1st gym so it can evolve
-I caught a Buizel. It is going to be my Bishop :D
-After a training session my Spinark is at lv. 15, Buizel lv. 10, and Monferno lv. 17
-Rematch Against Jessica Time
-Okay so... the solo isn't going to happen Spinark just got its butt whipped
-Monferno took out Jessica's Spider
-I burnt Vespiquen after taunting it to avoid double team, so it was easy to win
-Monferno leveled up to lv. 18

You will not belive what happened, I was done playing for the day, proudly standing at the Cold Storage and I decide to save, after saving I close the emulator and leave the computer to go to sleep. I wake up to continue the challenge AND MY FILE WAS DELETED.

Not only my Pokemon Black save file was deleted, but every other DS game that I saved on, oh and the emulator isnt letting me save, just my luck.

Well,After that I went to the gym and kicked Brock with Venusruler.
After that the cave,There I caught my Bishop Clefairy,Who evolved into Clefable at the same place.

*The Beginning and Beyond*

I started the game as a young boy called Bardo. After my mother telling me to look over to the Prof. and a Marill bumping into me I decided to do so. He allowed me to take a Pokemon of his and forced me on an errand. I chose to go with Totodile, making him my King.

After some further talking I got on my way to Mr Pokemon. Got there after King reached level 7 and at the same time I got another job to do. Fine. I recieved a mysterious call telling me to go back. On my way i met my rival and his Chicorita, they didn't stand a chance. I convinced the police of Max being guilty of stealing the Pokemon. I decided to take on the gyms

I managed to get to route 46 without meeting any Pokemon, enabling me to catch my pawn Geodude. Might get a solorun on the gym but a hard time in the tower.

Bellsprouttower didn't turn out to hard because Pawn and King managed to one- or at least twohit everyone. The gym itself made Pawn nearly laugh out, except from pidgeotto everyone suffered a OHKO.

Having finished the gym i got a call, I could take the egg I earlier fetched. I took it an went on. Crossing the tunnel, my totodile evolved. Asking myself if everyone else also meets a new Pokemon every three steps or so. I step out of the tunnel, hoping to see the sun again and... it's raining. Great. Well, at least King seems to have fun.

Entering the town, I saw a member of a so called Team Rocket beating a stranger. Fine. Perhaps he deserved it. I imediatley went to the gym only to see it blocked. By Team Rocket. I should had interfered earlier... Also the townfolk all the time speaks about Slowpokes disappearing. They aren't that fast to run away, are they? Somehow I got myself into another mess. I have to rescue Slowpokes and an old guy, all of them being in an old well. Should have known it, never trust a crocodile during puperty -.- King fell in love with his Queen, a Slowpoke. THAAATS GOOOONNNNAAAA BEEEE FAAAST TRAAAAVEEELIIING NOOOOOW. At least I now got my personal ballsmith. He seems to see a crazy trainer in me, the one kind which catches everything that is still around after having counted till three.

Bugs. Wood. Trees. Bugs. Great. I already hate this gym. Perhaps if i feed bugs to Queen she will get a little faster? Let's try. The slooooooow one got even slower during the battles... at least it's physical stats went up the same time, enabling it to deal with nearly everything until I got to the leader. He started with Scyther which, after changing from Queen to King, nearly took him out but lost in the end. The remaining two cocoon again ended their fights against my King's Queen. Done. And out. As fast as possible.
