The Children Are Hunted

Esper sent his reassurances and hope. He wanted Zoran to live, because he enjoyed his company. Thomas walked outside, feeling strangly calm.
"Don't you dare give up! You are a good person! You own this power, not the other way around!" Thomas shouted. The shadows flew at him, and were blasted back by a white hot Flamethrower. Vulpix walked out after him.
"You don't have to listen to it! Listen to me instead. You are the first person Vulpix trusted. Because of who you are! You've brave danger and death to help all of us! Becuase you thought we were worth helping! Even after what I did, you still believed in me! Believe in yourself now! You are the best person I've ever known!" Thomas said. He felt something snap in him, and power just seemed to flow out of him. He couldn't control where it went. It flowed into Vulpix, who was still protecting him from the out of control dark energy. It flowed into Esper, who buffered the shields even stronger. It flowed to all of his friends, who were standing in the background doing something. It flowed to Zoran, cutting through the shadows and strengthening him, as well as carrying his words.
"Don't let it win, Zor. Please don't. Don't do it for me, or for anyone else. Do it for yourself. You were right, this is your fight. But I'm going to help you. You can't make me quit. And do you know why I want to help you? Because I want to! But you can't let anyone or anything control your destiny! It's yours and yours alone! But I am here for you. And you won't get rid of me that easily," Thomas said. The shadows attack again, and this time Vulpix couldn't stop them. The energy Thomas was sending out, formed a barrier for a brief time to deflect it, the resumed it's flow. Thomas tightened the flow, sending more of of to Zoran.

Honesty Empowers.

The plane went down quickly. Clair smiled as the RDM plane came falling from the sky. Bagon's recently fired Dragonbreath left a trail in the sky. At least on her way of becoming a traitor, she did one last AAPM task. The "help" that resounded from the rubble sounded familiar. She hit herself when she heard it and tumbled down the hill she was walking on. She had to examine the crash site before she was positively sure. Yes. It was Mark. How he ended up on a RDM plane, she'll never know?

Mark crawled out of the explosion unharmed. The plane hadn't been mechanically inclined to cause an explosion as it ran on some kind of technology comfortable to Pokemon. He brought out his Pokemon and Pokeballs only to be smacked by a familiar person.

"You! I was on my way to save you! Do you have any idea how childish you are to escape on your own? You could have been killed and then who would have the blame and you cam in a plane? You weren't even steering? Ugh!"

"Hey, hey, hey. Wait. You didn't have to save me. You work for the AAPM. What connection does that have to me?

Clair was surprised at the boy's question. Did he really not know that his father, Regis Ronimoba, was the leader of the AAPM? It all made sense now. But why was Regis causing all this pain to his son?

"Hello? Are you okay? Look, I'm sorry. I'm just...a little messed up. I've been kidnapped too many times. I'm..I'm going back to my dad."

Clair, for once, tried to do the right thing. She knew that by doing this, her grandma might experience some turbulence, but she knew that's what Grandmother Aaria would want. "Look, kid -er- Mark. I'm sorry about everything. But, it's time you knew the truth about the AAPM."

Mark looked up. Clair could see a glimmer of hope in his eyes. She couldn't do that to him, she couldn't destroy the little ounce of joy he had. She had to tell him something now, or he wouldn't be able to trust her. "The reason why the AAPM wants you."

"What is it? I'm a useless, hopeless loser with no talent. Sure, I can solve Sudoku in maybe ten seconds or reconfigure a calculator's settings in less than 2 minutes, but for what? I have nothing to do this for? Am I even doing this for my dad anymore?"

"What do you mean?"

"My dad is an idiot. Everyone makes fun of him because of his lack of common sense and it's awful. I thought that if I went on this journey, I might be able to prove...something."

Clair had to knock some sense back into the boy. His father was a monster. She decided to give him a small piece of information. The boy continued to ramble on about how upsetting it was to watch his father. She covered his mouth with her hand, "Ok. Listen. the reason the AAPM wants you is because-"

He took her hand off his mouth, "Because I have some sort of power along with four other kids. Yeah. At the RDM base, I read an e-mail about it and how they've discovered some other CT's."

Clair's eyes widened. She wouldn't tell Regis this, she couldn't. Even if this was great information, she just couldn't. She didn't know that the small machine on her neck was recording everything. She looked at Mark again and prepared her speech, "Well. Yes. Do you have any idea what yours is? Any thought."

"No. I don't. So I can't be one of these CT's. Whatever they are. I bet there are so many more kids too. I have no reason to feel special."

"That's just it. There aren't that many more. There are maybe four others. You are special. And now," she prepared for the next part she was about to say, "I'm coming with you. You want to conquer the gyms? I'll take you to them myself. But, we have to buckle down and find those other CT's. If we don't...well we are stronger together than separated."

Mark, satisfied by this response, nodded, "Ok. Thank you so much. So, from here, I guess I should be heading to the Indonesian Peninsula."

"Well, we are already here. So, let's find that gym. I believe the gym leader's name is Darrell. I used to go to school with him. Him, Shauntal, and I were the best of friends."

"Shauntal? You knew-"

The two trainers conversed until night fell. Both trainers were keeping a secret.

**************************************************************************

Agatha smashed the pictures on her desk. The boy was never found and then, Shauntal's resignation? Then, she decided to take Yamask, Frillish, and Drifloon. Ugh. At least Garet had been sent to capture the girl. She would have some information. She had explained that, the device on his paw displayed a virtual map. All he had to do was press the small red button and a map of all of Pangaea would pop up. Then, he would follow the given route. She sighed. The next time she saw the boy, she would take care of everything herself.

She motioned for her latest newest Field Agent/Assistant to come into her room. Karen. She had considered others, there was a Koga. A Malizine. Merin. But, Karen, she had some powerful secret.

"Karen, could you please go locate the two new CT's. And, darling, don't fail. Please, don't fail."

Zoran could hear their voices. But gods was he tired. Try it, the shadows hissed through him. Try and defy us. Zoran smiled sadly. Okay. They burst, soaring away from him and into him. The voices suddenly collapsed into one shadow and outside, they slid away from Thomas and the others back to Zoran's unconscious form. Zoran wasn't moving but color was flowing into his body. Slowly, the boy began to roll over. His eyes were still glazed over.

I'm curious, the shadow whispered. Why are you defying us?

Zoran smiled quietly. You gave me a challenge. Why else?

Your friends are your crutch. Let them go.

No. I want to stay. I want to live. After all this time I want to try that.

Why?

Zoran sighed. Because I can.

You selfish brat. You don't deserve it after all you've done.

So are you. That's why you belong to me. He reached out, grabbed the shadow and pulled it into his body. I'm selfish a lot. I don't want people to leave, but... I guess that's why I'm here. And whether I deserve it or not, the life is right here isn't it? So oh well. His heart ached but it was a tolerable pain now. He knew there would always have to be a sacrifice for power. This would be the least of it.

Outside, they heard Zoran's voice. He was speaking aloud, very softly and calmly. "Thanks guys, for caring about someone like me. I'm all right now... as all right as I can ever be. So... don't worry. I'm going to force you away right now." He did, carefully shoving back the tendrils of power. "Stay where you are." He stood up weakly, staring at the bird above. "You're watching us aren't you?" he asked coldly to no one in particular. "Enjoying the show? Well, hope you like this!" He threw something at the bird. "Sparx, Thunderbolt!" The Luxio flew in the air, electricity hitting the soaring creature. As she fell, the shadow caught her expertly. "It's all right..." Zoran repeated sadly, as he wept softly. "It's okay..." Sparx mewled sadly and nuzzled his face.

Thomas blasted another shadow back. He didn't know how he was doing it, he just was. Then, all at once, the shadows slid back to Zoran. Thomas smiled weakly. He did it! Thomas had been right! He knew Zoran could do it! He dropped to his knees. That had been intense. He couldn't hold out any longer. He fell flat on his face. He was dimly aware of people shouting. But he was losing it.

Marcus saw Thomas fall. Zoran said something he couldn't quite catch, and shot some of that power at a passing Swellow. Marcus ran outside after making sure Esper was alright. Esper was sleeping like a baby.
"Thomas! Zoran! Are you guys ok?" Marcus asked. He regreted it immediatly. Of course not! Thomas was passed out from whatever it was he had been doing, and Zoran was bleeding again! Marcus didn't believe in magic, well, except for Zaria. But he would have sworn that he had seen Zoran shooting darkness out of his hand. But that was nothing compared to what else he had seen! Zoran, before he fell to the ground, had been pulsating with that same dark power. And Thomas! Marcus had seen him not once, but twice wave his hand and shot something white out to stop himself from getting hit! Best not to worry about those things. He checked on Vulpix. The little fox was going to be just fine. But Thomas and Zoran still hadn't gotten up yet!
"We should get them inside! Zoran needs to be bandaged up again," Marcus said to Ash. He was going to do whatever he could to help.

Zoran grinned weakly. "I'm okay." He forced himself up. "I will need bandages though." Zaria cheered and ran to hug him. He laughed and laughed as Ash went up and kissed his cheek again. "Okay Ash go help Thomas. He hasn't used the power nearly as much as I have so he's gonna wake up hungry and like he had a hangover." Ash sighed and shook her head, supporting him. She picked up Vulpix in her free hand.

"Marcus, get Thomas and lay him on the couch. He'll need ice on his forehead to cool him down." Ash carried her friend to go sit on a chair. The Pokemon ran around, trying to drive the bird above away or for it to fall and let them maul it.

Marcus tried to carry the older boy in, but he couldn't. Help came from an unexpected source. Razor cooed at him, and picked up Thomas by his shirt. Marcus grabbed his feet and the two of them carried him in the house. Amber had joined in the game of trying to catch the bird. Volt and Deluge were hanging around Esper, who was still asleep. Once he was on the couch, Marcus pressed an ice pack against Thomas's head. Marcus wished he would wake up. He was scared. Esper obviously wasn't, because Marcus had seen what that cat could do if he thought his trainer was in trouble.

Zoran sat in the chair, carefully unwrapping his arm. It was a mangled mess, but he didn't pay attention. He pulled the bandages from Ash and cleaned the wound, methodically wrapping it back up. He glanced at Marcus almost shyly, then looked away. "Sorry I never said anything to you guys. I didn't want you guys to freak out. I've had it a secret since I was little, so I got kind of used to not talking about it or me. I just figured it was better. It gave the others less reason to attack me and I figured I was weakening it by giving it less opportunity to use negative emotions. Oops."

He examined Thomas. "He'll be all right. It's just the first time he's used his power so strongly before. He'll eventually get used to it and it'll grow stronger. Even though it controlled me often, the most I have now is a headache and my hand bleeding. So don't worry."

Marcus grinned at Zoran.
"It's fine that you didn't tell me. I know I wouldn't have believed you if you had. Even now, I'm not sure I belive it," Marcus said.
"Would you please stop yelling in my ear?" Thomas said weakly.
"THOMAS!" Marcus shouted happily. Thomas whinced.
"Please don't do that again. I've got the worst migrain ever created. And to join in the conversation, this wasn't the first time I've done something like that. It was the first time I did it because of me. The last time was when I ki... When I met Amber. Esper did something to block the reaction out. That was what he was doing last night, other than keeping an eye on things. He took all this on himself. Man, my head hurts alot! But you guys must be sick of hearing me gripe," Thomas said, whincing at the sound of his own voice.
"Yeah, we all don't want to hear about you! What about the heroic little Vulpix that risked his life to protect you during that stunt!" Vulpix said. Amber jumped up on the couch. That made Marcus remember something else.
"Hey, Volt and Deluge and Amber all went out there after you too! You didn't even see them! Razor would hav gone, but she wouldn't fit though the door," Marcus said. Volt and Deluge stood on the ground proudly. Amber curled up next to Thomas and began purring, gaving him even more of a headache.
"Oh yeah, don't worry about not telling me... I didn't tell you when I was in trouble. Heh, that makes us even. No more secrets, ok?" Thomas said. He moved his head so he could get a better look at them, and regreted it immediatly. His head felt like someone hit it with a rock. He ached all over.

Ack, that's a lotta posts between those two!

Okay, this was getting a little annoying. The map device was helpful in guiding him, yes, but Garet had already had to traverse a bit of a variety of terrain, including a river. Finding a way across that water had already wasted some of his time, not to mention how long it took to go around the towns and occasional city Garet ran across. It was unnecessary to go through them, and he'd only be letting himself be seen by humans, any of which might willingly talk, or be forced to talk, if approached by the AAPM. At least Garet was able to run faster than any human he'd ever seen. That helped make up some of the time he'd already lost.

A while after leaving Agatha to go after Clair, Garet had almost run into a sea. Realizing that Clair's signal was somewhere across that sea, he'd backtracked to a city he knew held an RDM airbase. There, he'd found an RDM plane that, luckily, was on its way to the piece of land that the tracker's signal radiated from (and the plane was big enough to hold both the pilot, the Arcanine, and still have some room).

At the moment, Garet was lying on the floor of the RDM plane, finishing up a brief meal for the energy to continue running at the pace he'd set to himself on this mission. He didn't want anyone getting to the boy ahead of him again, especially if the boy was the son of...what was the name? Oh, Regis Ronimoba, the leader of the AAPM.
And yet, Garet couldn't get rid of something that nagged at his mind. If this boy was the AAPM leader's son, then why would Regis let his son run aorund like this? And, judging by what the man in the bridge toll booth had said and how he'd said it, the AAPM was likely chasing the boy. Doesn't fit quite right, in my mind, Garet thought, swallowing the last bite of his meal. Unless the boy had done something to greatly irk his father.

"We're approaching the airbase," the pilot, a Croagunk, announced.

"Thank you," Garet replied, rising to his paws. Time to run again, once he got out.

Zoran smiled weakly. "I still have a few. Honestly I forgot them. Blame the shadows, they've been in my head for so long. I'll probably remember everything later and I'll tell you when I do. I promise." Ash brought the other boy pain medicine. He reached out to pet Vulpix. "You're my little hero ain't ya?" he said with a soft little smile. "Thank you..."

Zaria spoke softly. "Zora?"

"What?"

"I saw the shadows show you that image of the fire. Is it true? Did you kill them?" Zoran had a guilty look on his face as he nodded. "Why?"

"They were fighting and I got emotional. I wanted them to stop so I got in the way. They turned on me and..."

"You shot the lamps down," Zaria mumbled, remembering seeing the rubble of electric lights and broken fire lamps when they had ran outside. He nodded sadly. "Sorry Zora. I wanted to be sure."

"Is okay Zari," he told her with a wan, slightly fake smile. Old habits died hard. He would get better.

(OOC: I'll take credit for half of all that :P )

"Sounds like it was an accident," Thomas said, gratefully accepting the medicine. He smiled in thanks, took it, and lay back. Amber looked up at him.
"Not for you," Thomas said to her. Vulpix beamed at Zoran. Thomas smiled at him.
"Yes, thanks from me as well. You saved my life," Thomas said. Thomas marveled at how much the Vulpix had changed. He still had an acid tongue, and still didn't like much of anyone, but still. He was different. Marcus too.
"Maybe I'm the one that's different," Thomas said to himself. He tried to focus and call the power back. He felt it there, sleeping. He couldn't reach it, and his headache worsened. Maybe he should try later. He thought about what had happened. He realised that when he had been talking, he had been using part of his power of command! He hadn't meant too, but he had. It had been different though. It had been more like some kind of soothing. Well, he'd try it later. He was feeling a bit better, and kind of hungry.
"Got any grub?" he asked with a hopeful smile.
"That proves it, he's going to be fine!" Marcus said.

(OOC: Okay XD No problem lol.)

Ash laughed and gently whirled Zoran back up. He went to help her, looking undeniably cheerful. They were both working together easily, bringing food to be rested on the coffee table. "Oh and you better be careful Thomas. Using your power unconsciously like that will make things worse!"

"Says you," Ash commented, sitting down on the arm of the chair. By the way, open your Pokeball." Zoran nodded and pulled the ball out. It popped open and revealed a blue eaglet with white down on its head. Zoran beamed.

"A Rufflet!"

"His name's Adler," Ash told him, seeing the bright look on her friend's face as the bird pecked at the food curiously before flapping its tiny wings to fly into his lap. It looked up curiously then let Zoran hug him, looking pleased.

"Thanks Ash!" Zaria laughed. He had wanted a Rufflet since he was little but he hadn't been allowed in the mountain peaks to get one. And of course now the Rockies were too cold.

Ash patted his head. "No problem mate. Carrie and I found him by accident. You've never seen something funny until you see a giant, fire-breathing lizard fleeing from a baby eagle. He's pretty strong too because I trained him a little." Zoran smiled widely, hugging Adler again.

Thomas laughed at seeing Zoran with his new pokemon. He was happy for him. Thomas grinned at the fur-ball lying next to him. She was happy too. Thomas sat up, and regretted it.
"You're trying to do too much! Lay back and rest!" Marcus said. Thomas shook his head. After a few moments, the pounding was reduced to a dull ache and he could live with that. He reached for the first thing he could grab and ate it. He felt drained of all his strength. Esper woke up and tried to stand. It was rather like a newborn deer trying to stand for the rest time. But he finally got up, and on wobbly legs walked over and climbed rather clumsily onto the couch.
"So, what's the plan? Did that bird get away?" Thomas asked between bites.

"He must have," Zoran muttered, letting the shadow crawl up his fingers. He swore he heard the thing chirp. Creepy. "My Pokemon aren't making too much noise, so I'm assuming so."

"And I'd recommend healing up a couple more days. You can't go long distances yet can you?" Ash asked her friend, who shook his head no. "And with the shadows playing games you're really in trouble. I think you need a restock anyway. And the Pokemon are exhausted. When you two are both a bit better, Thomas, you should head for Stonehenge. That was a tough Gym."

"Alright, that's what we'll do then. I personally am glad. It gives me some more time to figure out how this power of mine works. I'd rather do that here than on the road. Also, do you have a place to train? Esper is worn out, but the rest of my team has plenty of energy. Especially Amber!" Thomas said. Amber looked at upon hearing her name. Marcus gulped.
"Hmm... I wonder who sent that Swellow. I've never seen it before! But then again, I'm not really high up in the RDM. Or, I wasn't high up. Now I'd be lucky to warrant being a prisoner," Vulpix sighed heavily.
"Well, you're always welcome with us!" Thomas said. Marcus nodded, and Razor trilled happily. Thomas grabbed another plate of food. He hadn't been this hungry in a long time! At least his headache was starting to go away. Vulpix nodded gravely at him. It seemed to Thomas like everyone that came near him had a lot of bad things happen to them, but they seemed to be better for it. Maybe he was overanalyzing things a bit.

Ash pretended to look insulted. "I am a top trainer little boy! If I had no place to train, what kind of fighter would I be?" Zoran laughed and got up, opening the door for his Pokemon, which trooped inside. "Zora show them the way in." The boy nodded, walking over to the other side of the kitchen, where a closet appeared to be. He opened the door and pointed to a flight of stairs. Zora flicked the light on, showing where a large battlefield lay at the bottom. "Before you ask," Ash commented dryly. "I'm not rich. My relatives are and my mom and dad knew better than to trust themselves with that money. There's a reason they're out farming."

"To ship you fresh berries and organic food?" Zoran suggested, leading them all downstairs.

Ash grinned, letting them walk past if they wanted. "Well there is that."

Zaria floated down to Thomas, having magically read his mind. "No pain, no gain Thomas," she said soberly. "Bad things happen to all kinds of people but it's the good people who make something of themselves despite the bad things." Adler chirped in Zoran's arm, as if agreeing. "And Vulpix, you should be happy. Now you can be sure you're with people who want you around and happy!" She smiled and spun, causing Doom to bark with joy, wagging his tail.

Thomas listened to her sage-like wisdom as he walked down the stairs. How had she known what he was thinking about, though? He glanced at Esper as they entered the room. If the cat knew, he wasn't sharing anything.

Thomas instintly fell in love with the battlefield. He felt excited and to be here! This seemed to be a normal style battlefield, not favoring any type. Thomas felt the usual prebattle rush.
"Hey, Zor! I'm still looking forward to that battle! But before that, my team needs some work. Can you wait?" Thomas said. Thomas looked for his pokemon. Esper was in his arms, as Thomas had been carrying him the whole time. Amber was sniffing the stairs curiously. Volt was predictably right at Sparx's side, trying to act cool. Deluge was standing around idly. Thomas sent out Razor. She screeched her joy at the amount of space she had. Thomas knew that his usual tatics for her wouldn't work in here. He usually had her put a lot of distance between her and her foes. Thomas would have to get her used to working in places like this, where there was enough room to fly freely, but not enough room to outdistance any attack. And as for Volt, Thomas knew what his problem was. When Sparx was around, he was very distracted, and when she wasn't he was too agressive with other males. Deluge needed a major confidence boost. Esper was fine, just needed more work on his speed to get out of the way. And Thomas had no clue how Amber would act in a battle. He decided to work the two biggest issues.
"Allright, Volt and Razor! I'm going to start with you two! But first, hey, Zoran! You mind if I borrow Sparx? She won't have to do anything, just be there. I'm sure you know where this is going!" Thomas said. Marcus looked at him. His eyes lit up as he saw Thomas's train of thought. He was getting into the spirit of things too.
"Hey, Vulpix! Want to train with me?" Marcus asked.
"Think I'll pass. I'd probably destroy your team," Vulpix said with a yawn. Thomas believed he could defeat all three of Marcus's pokemon by himself.

Zoran nudged Sparx and smiled, following them downstairs. Adler chirped and flew over his head. Sparx leapt the steps, laughing. "Oh this should be fun. Hey Thomas, why don't you help Marcus by training Amber with his Pokemon. She seems not too strong to make it unfair and not too weak to make it too easy." Zaria laughed and jumped on his back as Ash went after him.

"I think Zora's looking forward to the battle too," Ash said seriously. "But his Pokemon are probably pretty good for now. He'll probably train when you guys aren't looking." Zoran laughed again, sitting on the nearby bench.

While Mark and Clair converse until night...

After disembarking the plane and leaving the RDM airbase, Garet stopped to press the small red button with his paw. The map sprung up, immediately showing the location of the tracker's signal. If he remembered right, from all that time of memorizing names of different parts of the world, Clair was currently in the Indonesian Peninsula. That was connected to the part of Indonesia that the Arcanine had just landed on.

So she hasn't moved too far, then, Garet thought, grinning. At least something was leaning in his favor. At the moment, the sun was hanging low in the sky, soon to begin sinking beneath the horizon of seas. Unless this Clair was nocturnal or something, she shouldn't go far between now and tomorrow morning. Garet had a while to go before he'd need to rest. Or, should he rest now, while the tracker's signal didn't move?

Garet suddenly let out a long, quiet yawn. Yes, sleep was needed. He hadn't slept at all while chasing the boy from Shanghai to Tokyo, and since then, the only time he'd slept was on the plane to India. And the Arcanine had been awake for a while before he'd found out about this boy in the first place.

Garet sighed, pressing his paw to the button to close the device's map. Turning back toward the airbase, which should have a place for RDM members to sleep, the Arcanine vaguely wondered what had become of the man in that bridge toll booth, the one who'd tried to capture him.

Volt looked at Sparx. He held his head up proudly. He was going to show her something impressive!
"You like the sound of that Amber?" Thomas asked. Amber squeeked and ran over to Marcus.
"I'm good, but it's going to be tough to focus on two battles at once! I know, let me move over here!" Thomas said. He moved over to the other side where he could see both battles. He set Esper down, who walked over to the sidelines where Zoran was. He lay down lazily next to him. Volt was watching Sparx with interest.
"Go! Magicarp!" Marcus yelled. The ugly little fish just splashed around on the ground.
"Um... Ok! Amber, use Tackle! Now for you two! Razor, Take off! The longer you're on the ground the longer they will have to beat you! Volt, use Discharge and catch her!" Thomas yelled. He smiled as Amber knocked Magicarp a few feet into the air.

Razor took off and flew to the ceiling. She screeched in annoyance at it for existing. Volt did what Thomas expected. He looked over at Sparx, and without taking his eyes off of her, used the move. He blasted his electricity all over the place. Thomas had to admit, it looked cool. But this was a battle, and no opponent would let this opportunity go to waste, so he wasn't either. Volt would learn soon enough.
"Ok... Razor, use Brave Bird! No, you can't gain altitude to use it! Fly in a circle to build up your speed!" Thomas said. Razor did as was asked, and slammed full force into Volt, who went rolling. He was back on his feet soon enough, and roared out his protest at Thomas.

"Use Splash!" Marcus yelled. Thomas shook his head and had Amber use Sand Attack. She kicked up all kinds of dirt at Magicarp, getting a lot of it on herself, which Thomas bet was on purpose. But that did it, Magicarp couldn't see.
"Umm... Use Splash?" Marcus said.
"What level is your Magicarp?" Thomas asked.
"13." Marcus said.
"It will learn Tackle at 15, but the best you can do is switch it for another pokemon before Amber makes it faint. That way it will at least get some battle expierence," Thomas said gently. Marcus swapped it out for Magby.

"What! This is real! I'm not going to pull any punches just because you're trying to impress a girl! Now, back on your feet and use Quick Attack! And Razor, Steel Wing for you!" Thomas said. Volt used his Quick Attack, but seemed to freeze in midair for an instant. Another cool, but useless pose. Razor let out what sounded like laughter, and batted him out of the air. Volt roared at her.
"Don't complain at her! If you don't like what she's doing, then focus on the battle and stop her! Use Zap Canon! And Razor, I want you to use Air Cutter!" Thomas said. Volt looked, again, at Sparx before charging the sphere of blue electricity. He over did it, and it blew up in his face, causing Vulpix to burst out laughing at him. Then the wind bursts came, but they all missed.

"Magby! Use Ember!" Marcus yelled.
"Amber, use Growl!" Thomas said. Amber was much faster than Magby. She growled cutly at him, causing him to hesitate with his attack. She easily danced out of the way of the flames.

"Razor, don't let that shake you! You're doing great! Volt, I know you can do it! Now, Volt, use Discharge again! Razor, use Steel Wing!" Thomas said. Thomas wanted to jump for joy. Volt was learning. With barely a glance at Sparx, he launched the powerful attack at Razor. However, he did hesitate, which gave Razor just enough time to adjust her wings and dodge the attack. She hit him with her wing, and he was back on hid feet again, growling proudly.
"You're doing better Volt! and Razor, you're adapting beutifully to the indoor battlefields! I think you two should rest for a while before we go again. And Volt, remember what I said here. You'll impress not just her, but everyone by winning battles more than you will by posturing! Got that?" Thomas said. Volt growled an acknowledgement, and walked over to where the spectators were at. Razor continued to fly around in the room.
