The Children Are Hunted

Mickey and Zoran were both laughing before Zoran grinned innocently at Vulpix. "Hey I like Ash. She's a wonderful woman. I would just prefer it if people stopped being stupid enough to piss her off."

Ash snorted at Mia. "Obviously you're uneducated too," she hummed. "Kira, teach her what happens when you mess with a champion." The Lucario appeared, looking curiously at the Delcatty.

"My opponent is this?" he asked her and Ash shrugged. He sighed. "My lady the fights you get into..." He gave Delcatty a nod. "I do apologize but I promise to make this quick." He threw an Aura Sphere, already charging up his next attack.

(I couldn't resist XD and yes I agree, though I am starting to think blood loss might be making Esper dizzy.)

(OOC: >_> maybe. This may surprise you.)

Mia's mouth opened and closed. As soon as Kira appeared, Delcatty bolted back to Mia and pressed the pokeball, returning herself. The Aura Sphere hit the dirt harmlessly. Vulpix laughed.
"At least her pokemon has sense!" Vulpix said.
"Come on, Delcatty! We can't let her get away with this!" Mia said. Delcatty refused to come out.
"... Fine, Glameow will take care of this! Glameow! Use Take Down!" Mia said. Thomas didn't know if she was brave, or just really stupid.
"Maybe it's a combination of both," Esper said. Thomas looked down at him. Amber walked over and Thomas set Esper down next to her. She immediately curled up next to him and used Synthesis. Esper let her heal him, and turned his attention to the fight.
"Hm... Cat fight... How ironic," Esper said.
"You're in an awfully good mood," Thomas said.
"He's probably enjoying this as much as Volt and I are!" Vulpix said. Thomas looked at Volt. He was sitting near Sparx, but he was focused on the fight. Thomas supposed it was possible. Esper was very protective of him. And Mia had also insulted Esper as well.

"We can't let her get away with this!" Zoran repeated, sounding perfectly like Mia.

Mickey shuddered. "Dude, can you imitate men?"

"I can," Zoran replied with an evil grin. "But you don't count so maybe not."

"...I'll kill you for that later."

"You've tried that: it doesn't work." The pair looked at Ash, who was snickering derisively.

"You should take a lesson from your Pokemon, ma'am," Ash mocked as Kira stepped back, placing a paw on Glameow's head to stop her from moving. "Even if both of your Pokemon fought Kira and I at once you would lose. Just because you may have good moves and your brother may have trained you doesn't make you a good trainer. It just makes you arrogant. Your Pokemon are weak and so are you. It's time you learned that. Kira, Brick Break." Lucario lifted his other paw, which was glowing white, and slammed it down on Glameow's torso.

Thomas looked at Zoran.
"That's kind of creepy dude," Thomas said. Mia said something very mean sounding in Italian before calling the fainted Glameow back.
"Hey, Ash! You want me to join her team for this battle? You know, to make iit fair?" Vulpix shouted out. Mia's ears turned red.
"Go to hell! No one calls me weak! Delcatty! Use Sing!" Mia said. Delcatty looked very scared, but began to sing anyway. Marcus shook his head.
"Ash, you're really scary when you get mad..." he said so quietly that Thomas barely heard him.
"Vulpix, you'd not last five seconds with her telling you what to do," Robby said. Thomas shook his head. He had seen that she was a good trainer, if she could get her head out of her rear and listen to people. Her battle style was really impressive. Simon had taught her well. Unfortunately, she was very... rude. Thomas would be happy to train her if she would stop acting like a brat, but he doubted that would happen.

(OOC: Ash and Mia are kind of similar. But where Ash is a badass that could probably beat Zoran and Thomas together, if she wanted too, Mia is a self-centered wimp that can't even beat Marcus. Huh, I guess the only similarity is that they are easy to provoke...)

(I can agree with that.)

Zoran grinned at him. "My life is complete!" he declared, now choosing to sound like Mickey. "I have successfully scared you Thomas!" Kira groaned. That Delcatty had a horrible singing voice. Fear might have affected it but still. Before he could fall asleep he fired three Aura Spheres. At least one of them would hit. Or one would hit the trainer. He hoped she had insurance. Or something. Argh resisting sleep was a headache.

(OOC: Which part? Because it may be interesting to have Ash go up against Zoran and Thomas together.)

"Lies. Being creeped out is not the same as being scared," Thomas said. Mia dropped to the ground to dodge the Aura Sphere. Delcatty got hit with one and was knocked out. Mia got to her feet and swore in Italian. She returned Delcatty.
"You won. Are you happy now?" she asked impudently. Vulpix, Marcus, Robby, and Thomas sighed in unison. She was relentless. Thomas got the feeling he should take a step back. He looked down at Esper and Amber. The singing had put them to sleep. They looked cute curled up like that, even with Esper's half healed wounds. Thomas smiled at them.

Zoran grinned. "Aw. Next time then."

Asha snorted."No. People like you will never learn. I wonder; have you ever genuinely thanked someone or learned from them? I doubt it: you never were nice to Thomas when he helped you: you just blamed him for your failure."

Zora laughed. "Aw the Pokemon are getting along."

(That would be cool.)

Mia just stood and stared, biting her lip. She said something in Italian and stormed off. She sat down to sulk against a tree.
"I blame Delcatty for that," Thomas said gesturing at the sleeping pokemon. Marcus walked out to Ash.
"Gee Ash... That was a little harsh, don't you think?" Marcus said.
"She's right! Goodness Marcus, you're hopeless!" Vulpix said. He sighed and got up and walked over to the RV. Thomas sighed.
"I'm probably going to regret this..." Thomas said. He walked over to Mia.
"What do you want!?" she said.
"Sheesh! If words could kill! Well, I'd be dead several times over. But listen, I'm trying to teach you something! Type matchups are very important in battle! Almost as important as levels. Esper is a Psychic type. That is weak to Dark types. Types mean everything in a battle. Especially one were the pokemon are so close in level. Now, her Lucario is a fighting type. That's strong against normal types like you Delcatty. But fighting is weak to Flying and Psychic," Thomas said.
"So... Esper would beat her Lucario," Mia said at last, calming down a little.
"In a perfect world, yes. But as it is now, Esper would lose. Can you think why that is?" Thomas said.
"Because Esper is a wimp!" Mia said. Thomas sighed and shook his head.
"Well, against Kira, yes, Esper is the weaker pokemon. He is at least half Kira's level. Or more. But... against a pokemon of a similar level, Esper is pretty good against most others," Thomas said with as much patience as possible.
"...Yeah," was all Mia would say. Thomas sighed. He walked back to his friends.
"Well, I tried. I don't know what her problem is. Come on, there has to be something more interesting to do," Thomas said. Amber woke up, looked at Esper, and continued healing him. Esper woke up when she was done and walked away.

Ash shrugged at Marcus. "It doesn't matter since she won't listen anyway. I could probably tell her she was perfect and she'd look at me like I was evil. By the way Thomas, Lucario's a Fighting and Steel type. Fighting, Ground, and Fire moves are the only ones that really work on him. And don't mention to her the fact that if a Pokemon could know a certain move, it'd be able to fight back against its own typed advantages."

"Anyway," Zoran sighed. "I think most of us smell terrible by now. Someone take a shower before I do." Ash bolted inside at that, causing Mickey to crack up violently.

Thomas was about to answer, but Ash ran back in the RV. He scratched his head.
"I was about to tell her I knew all that. I was just trying to teach Mia the basics," Thomas said. Marcus looked up at him.
"Why?" Vulpix asked.
"Why what?" Thomas asked.
"Why are you trying to help her? And where are you taking these showers? What is a shower anyway?" Vulpix asked. Thomas sighed and shook his head. How could he explain this to him?
"Um... How can I explain this," Thomas said. He told Vulpix what a shower was, and what the purpose of it was. By the end Vulpix was looking horrified.
"So, just to get clean, you let water spray all over you? What keeps you from drowning?" he asked.
"There is a drain in the floor, and the water doesn't come out hat fast," Thomas said.
"Oh," Vulpix said. He laughed a little bit.

Zoran chuckled. "As you can see, Ash likes to be clean. And humans have weird ideas. I've always thought of it as artifical, focused rain. I know Vulpix, it's insane." He returned Doom and let out Cody, who blinked curiously. "Hi," he said to Amber with a grin. "You wanna play?"

Amber looked at Cody with a smile and leapt on him.
"I guess that answered his question," Vulpix said. Thomas shook his head. Marcus walked over to the group.
"I'll battle you for the next shower. I want some hot water, and there won't be too much left afterwards," he said.
"Eh... I'll go last. I am odd, because I prefer cold showers to hot ones," Thomas said. Esper shook his head and laughed.
"What are you laughing at? Overgrown pink fool!" Thomas said good naturedly
"Yeah, I love you too!" Esper said.

Smoke Alert. On the Way to Venice!

The trio stopped. They could hear a strange buzzing noise. It steadily grew louder . They looked around, anxious to find any escape as smoke formed around them. What was going on? Confused, Mark took rapid action. He looked at Tony and at Clair. Tony didn't know about his powers, so what could he do? He would have to out himself as a freak. He turned around to see Tony's eyes glow a mysterious red before a glow similar to that of a Psychic calm the smoke around them. With a swift motion of his hand, he banished the smoke. From above them they could seea plane, through the window, something caught his eye. Mark enhanced his vision, his eyes glowing orange. The Arcanine and a familiar Lucario. This wasn't good, not good at all.

Zoran grinned as Cody gently batted Amber away. "Well, Ash will be done soon but I don't recommend going in there right away. You will get slapped." He gestured for Alyss, who walked over concernedly. "You and I are going to a bathhouse. I need to clean your wings off." She nodded shyly and Zoran grinned. "Come on Mickey, let's go get the blood off you. Cody, Sparx, have fun. You'll know where I am." The Pokemon seemed to salute as the trio walked off. "Oh," Zoran added casually. "If you want them to battle any of your Pokemon, they know what to do."

Thomas nodded as they walked away. He looked over at Mia. She had stopped sulking and was looking bored. Thomas shook his head. If she was going to sit and sulk instead of getting better, then she could go and do that. Mia finally stood up as Thomas was about to have Volt facing Deluge.
"I don't really get type match-ups. Would you show me?" Mia asked sullenly.
"... Maybe," Thomas said.
"Please! God, is that what you want?" Mia said.
"No, but it's a start. What I want is the same respect I give you, or anyone else that isn't my enemy," Thomas said. Mia bit her lip, but said nothing.
"Now, Let's battle!" Thomas said.
"What?! But my pokemon are fainted!" she said.
"I'll loan you some of mine. Esper, Amber, and Draco. They are even tempered and will listen to you. I'll use Deluge, Volt, and Razor. Now remember. Grass beats water, and fire beats steel. Also, use the attributes of the pokemon you've got. Amber can't take a hit well, but she's a dodging fiend. On the other hand, Draco is slower on his feet than everyone, but he's tough enough to outlast most pokemon. I want you to remember everything you've ever learned about pokemon, because you'll need it. I'll be fighting my best, so you'd better too!" Thomas said. Mia nodded, and the three pokemon went over to her side. Thomas looked at Deluge, Volt, and Razor with a smile.
"Deluge! Let's start this off!" Thomas said. Deluge walked into the field.
"Um... Grass beats water, right? Then I think I'll send out Amber," Mia said. Amber walked out to join Deluge.
"Deluge, Water Gun!" Thomas said. Deluge began blasting water at Amber, who instinctively dodged it.
"Amber, use Razor Leaf!" Mia shouted. Amber looked at her, then fired leaves in Deluges general direction, none of which came close to hitting.
"What was that!? Amber, how could you miss that bad! He didn't even move!" Mia said. Amber cringed. Thomas glared at Mia.
"Don't you ever talk to my pokemon like that! This battle is over!" Thomas said. He was about to walk out and snatch Amber up.
"Wait! Please, I'm sorry! I really want to learn!" Mia said urgently. Thomas stopped.
"What do you think, Amber?" he asked.
"Amber, I'm really sorry!" Mia said. Amber straightened up and meowed joyfully at Thomas. Thomas relaxed a little.
"Alright. Mia, if you ever miistreat my pokemon, or my friends, we will have problems. Are we clear!?" Thomas said.
"Crystal," Mia said, glaring at him. Thomas ignored it.
"Now, you must learn your pokemon before they battle. Amber can't aim at anything more than a few feet away, and you've seen that. Now, instead of getting mad about it, find a way around it!" Thomas said.
"Alright! Amber, use Quick Attack!" Amber said. Amber rushed at Deluge, who hid in his shell. She rammed it uselessly.
"What? Why didn't that work?" Mia said.
"Because Deluge is very defensive. Now, show her what you can do! Ice Beam!" Thomas said. Deluge burst from his shell and blasted Amber with the light blue beam.

Ash came out, redressed and looking pleased. She grinned at Thomas. "Good luck!" She was referring to making his Pokemon stronger but she knew it could be taken other ways. "Watch out too," Ash warned Mia with a strange little grin. "Grass is weak to ice too!" Think we should be worried about her Pokemon... Ash was curious to know if Mia's Pokemon liked her. She would ask Alyss when she got back. Kira walked up to her and was returned, replaced with Riley. The Raichu grinned passively, enjoying being scratched on the head.

"Can I use the shower?" Marcus asked Ash when she came out.
"What? Why didn't you tell me!?" Mia shouted at Thomas.
"I can't tell you everything! Somethings you need to learn on your own!" Thomas said as Deluge frove Ambers paw to the ground. Amber couldn't move.
"Now what do I do?" Mia said, sounding scared.
"I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to have Deluge use Rapid Spin!" Thomas said. Deluge flew at Amber.
"Wait! She can't move! I..." Mia said.
"What moves does she have that you can't move for?" Thomas asked.
"Solar Beam and Synthesis, but how will... I know! Amber, use Solar Beam!" Mia said. Amber charged the beam as Deluge drew closer, and fired it at him. A direct hit. The green beam rocked Deluge's shell, knocking him off course. Amber finally broke free and pounced on the downed turtle.
"Now! Razor Leaf!" Mia said.
"Withdraw!" Thomas said. Amber fired her leaves and they hit Deluge in the shell. Even through the defense, Deluge was hurt.
"You win this round. Deluge, return. Razor! Let's go!" Thomas said. He called back the Wartortle and sent out the Skarmory.
"Why couldn't I get her?" Mia asked.
"Because I said so! Razor, take off and use Air Cutter!" Thomas said. Amber couldn't dodge all the blasts, and was on the ground. She struggled to her feet. Thomas called her back.
"Why did you do that? She could keep going! I was about to use Synthesis!" Mia said, slightly put out.
"First, this is a training session, not a fight till you drop battle! Amber was out of steam. I will not risk my pokemon's safety trying to train you. Also, flying types beat grass types. What do you think I would do in a real battle if you had tried Synthesis? Send out your next pokemon!" Thomas said. He may have been a little harsh, but she was ungrateful to him and his pokemon. If she refused to be a little nicer, then Thomas would never train her again.
"Draco! Let's beat him! Use Dragonbreath!" Mia said.
"Razor, dodge it and use Steel Wing," Thomas said calmly.

Ash nodded cheerfully at Marcus, moving so he could walk by. Ash could feel it: this fight would end painfully. "Just because a move can do something such as healing, doesn't mean you should rely on it. That's when you should be wary of it." Riley squeaked softly, using her tail to pat Ash's head. Ash laughed softly at Riley's silly expression as she scratched.

Standard Proced-- What Just Happened?!

"What just happened?!" Garet was on his feet and staring at the screen of the camera, which he'd just switched back to regular-mode. The smoke shouldn't have cleared out that soon!

"Deploying net," Leo announced, though his voice showed some nervousness. Whatever his partner had seen, it couldn't be good for them. He was still going to fire the net, though.

After the plane had circled back (and a little lower), a large, circular net with some weights was fired at the humans below.

The white Arcanine growled. This was already not going completely their way. And how had the smoke disappeared so quickly? Thinking back on his last mission briefing, he remembered that the AAPM leader's son had a power. Was this it, or could it be something to do with the third human?

In any case, Leo made another circle back to drop more smoke bombs after the net. The pilot couldn't see the camera-screen, after all.

"Most moves that heal take time, such as Synthesis, or have some other drawback. A good trainer will punish anyone who uses one in battle," Thomas said. Razor flew into Draco at full force. Draco was back on his feet in no time.
"What moves does Draco know?" Mia askes suddenly.
"What? Oh, Dragonbreath, Dragon Rage, Ember, and Zen Headbutt," Thomas said.
"That's why you told me fire is good against steel! Draco, use Ember!" Mia shouted. Draco blasted flaming red orbs at Razor, who artfully dodged them. Razor retaliated with Brave Bird, and sped at Draco.
"You can take it! Don't let up on the Ember!" Mia said. Instead of breaking off the attack like he would have, he let Razor fly through it, getting hit hard. She flew right into Draco. Draco was on his feet quick. Razor hit the ground, and slowly got to her feet. Thomas called her back. Mia didn't even notice that Thomas had gone easy on that one.
"Oh yeah! That's what I'm talking about Draco!" she said. Thomas smiled knowingly and sent Volt out to wrap this up.
"Discharge!" Thomas said. Volt immediately blasted Draco with his blue electricity. Draco hit the dirt, and got up.
"Zen Headbutt!" Mis said. She thought she was on a roll.
"Don't get cocky. Volt, Zap Canon, then follow it up with a Quick Attack," Thomas said.
"Hah! You're just mad that you're losing! I still have Esper left!" Mia said.
"Can I please teach her a lesson? Please? It wouldn't hurt her any. Just hurt her pride," Esper asked, making it so that only Thomas could hear him.
"What are you planning?" Thomas asked. Esper told him, which brought a grin to his "What are you grinning about?" Mia asked.
"Eh... go for it!" Thomas said aloud. Volt knew his trainer well enough to know he wasn't talking to him, but that he should cover Thomas's mistake and attack. Draco was getting to his feet when Volt hit him with a Double Kick, sending him to the dirt. Thomas called back Draco.
"Esper! Let's finish this! I know you're kind of weak, but you can do it! Use Swift!" Mia said.
"Oh no she did not!" Esper said to everyone, sounding genuinely offended. Thomas could tell by the gleam in his eyes that he was having fun.

(OOC: What do you think Esper will do? You probably already know, don't you? :) )
