The Christmas Thread (Got any decoration pics? Post them here!)

Christmas in my house, usually starts off with unwrapping presents with my parents and siblings, then after that we usually get a visit from my uncle and grandparents and we unwrap our presents from them. An hour or two later me, my siblings, my parents, grandparents and uncle eat our Christmas meal. Soon after we visit my great grandmother.

That pretty much sums Christmas up in my house.

In my honest opinion I think Christmas has sort of turned changed over the years from a Christian holiday to of spending money mindlessly.

I just touched up my Christmas playlist last night. It grow a bit every year. Right now it stands at almost 14 hours of Chirstmas music :D

We had a Las Posadas observance at school. I'm bummed I forgot to take pics. I'll be sure to remember at the next Christmasy event.

Christmas shopping is done for me. $32.16 in total expenditures, not inculding factoring in time spent. Now, I better make all of this back come Christmas day, or my mood will be even worse than usual that day. In one day the number of presents under our tree grew from 4 to about 30, and I hope very few of them are for me. Believe me, I need money much more than I do some ugly Christmas sweater or light-up, singing ornament. And I swear, if I get another Homer Simpson ornament (a show I haven't watched in seven years, and not even my favorite character back when I did watch it), I am gonna snap.

And yes, Christmas is overrated. Way overrated.

Every Christmas season we normally have the whole family on my dad's side get together at my grandparents a week or two before for dinner and stuff. Then on Christmas Eve my whole dad's side of the family goes and sees some Christmas play thing at church (something that is super boring and that I used to have to be in) before then returning to my grandparent's house again to open presents and what not (I might just try and work this year and try and not go, that's what my mum's going to try anyway). The presents from my grandparents are usually very cheap bargain shop stuff that normally gets chucked out the next day because for some reason, she does not realise that I am 15 and do not need to get a little spinning top or 2 year old lollies (I don't eat lollies anymore anyway).

Then on Christmas Day we all open our presents in the morning and then a bit later in the morning we go to have Christmas lunch/dinner with my mum's side of the family at one of their houses (we rotate every year and it's our turn this year I think). This is usually more fun than the other family engagements. Anyway at this one we give each other presents and talk.

Other than all that family stuff we normally decorate a tree, something we are yet to do, and buy each other gifts. We usually just ask what we want from each other to avoid getting the wrong thing. I still have to do my Christmas shopping, which I hope to get done in my lunch break tomorrow at work. As for Christmas food, the only real thing that I plan to eat this year that I think of as Christmasy are cherries. I've already ate like 2 kg in like 2 days.

Other than that I don't do anything else very Christmas related, all that I normally do different is have a christmas Pokemon themed desktop picture, watch the TV christmas specials like the SpongeBob one and this year I did a Christmas profile, sort of.

Well, the tree is up. The tree is 7' tall and has 1500 lights in total, all of them expertly put on by my boyfriend. I wouldn't have the patience to put all those lights on. He does a really good job I think.

I actually found a cool little color channge LED Christmas tree that plugs into my computer's USB port. That's probably the extent of my decorations for Christmas besides my special Christmas banner/avatar (though of course the rest of the family goes all out decorating. Now I have to dodge the oversized Christmas tree in the living room every time I need to venture out to the kitchen at night to grab a drink.

Oh, we are meeting with my aunt and uncle about a week and a half before Christmas day to exchange presents. It's at a restaurant about halfway between our houses. Kinda looking forward to that because at least we get to eat out that day.

I HAVE DECORATION PHOTOS...

...well, not my own, but hey!

It's from my neighbours' house and probably the only one I can get without giving away too much personal signs of idk (okay so I don't seem creepy I just happened to be over there OKAY). :3 Also my photo of our Christmas tree is sorta blurry and I need a better one so you'll have to deal with this for now. We don't have that many decorations tbh, mostly in lounge room.

Also jealous of that tree! I want one with as many lights :(

Met up with my aunt and uncle on my dad's side for our Christmas get together and present exchanging yesterday. Wasn't too bad of a time since we met up in a restaurant and the food was pretty good. Also got $50 from them, so already I've made a profit this Christmas. I still have to wonder about their tastes in movies though... I just gave that DVD to my brother. How do you tell 60-something old relatives you're into Japanese cartoons, though? That's why I'd really rather have a Buick money for Christmas.

I'm going to post some pictures of my decorations later when I have time to sort through them and find the ones that won't bore you to tears, but for now here is this video of me at a house in my town, fanboying over Christmas lights XD

Done with shopping. Done with wrapping. Had a Christmas Party at a Church to go to today, was fun, won somethings. Counting down to Christmas.

Thank you God for giving us your son Jesus Christ :)

I really enjoyed a lot on this Christmas. Its the best Christmas ever in my life..
