One of my favorite topics that we've talked about is imprinting. If you don't know what imprinting is, it's basically where birds think that the first thing they see after hatching is their mother. My instructor told us about this one person who had a baby duck that he was going to use for his project. The duck followed him everywhere, even to classes. It would sit on his shoe as he walked. The duck even wanted to come into the classes it wasn't allowed in. It would hop up and down in front of the door. The class finally convinced the instructors to let it come in. The story was a lot better the way she told it, but still.
