Haha, I'd never live in Australia if only because anything to do with video games is just so inflated. x_x;; Game prices are so ridiculous.

But yeah, 360 got a price drop everywhere. They're trying to latch on to some of the Wii crowd, I think. At the very least, they're pulling way ahead of the PS3 because of it. :B
 
Yeah, right now, almost all the best games on PS3 are also on 360. D: So sicne the 360 is cheaper and has more exclusives, it's the more logical choice if you don't need the other things that PS3 supports (like Blu-Ray, etc.).
 
Oh, definitely. Especially when it first came out, it was an affordable Blu-Ray player with lots of extra capabilities.

My dad actually bought our PS3 for Christmas last year because he really wanted a Blu-Ray player and figured that, if he was spending lots of money on one anyway, he might as well get my brother an I a game console at the same time. XD We mostly just use ours for watching Blu-Ray and DVDs (since it upconverts them so nicely).
 
If you're looking for a game console, then the 360 outclasses the PS3 by a long shot. The PS3's sole advantage is that it doubles as a Blu-Ray player.
 
Oh I've been getting so many blu-ray dvds lately… I can't wait to play em on my PS3… I'm mean I can on my mac but it slows everything down so much. :<

Slows everything down? If you're watching a movie, why try to do anything else on your computer while doing so?
 
I think I would rather pay that $100 more or whatever it is to get the PS3 cause it has free online play, Blu-Ray, and many things that are awesome like that. And many of the games I like are on both.
 
Yes… I can't wait to play online for free… I'm too much of a cheapo to pay for xBox Live, plus most of the xBox games I have are first person shooters which I don't play. xD
 
Well, Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 are probably the two most popular console games in existence, and they're both on the Xbox 360. As far as single-player goes, the Wii's gotta come out on top.

You are correct on that one. Free online play makes it worth it.

And isn't CoD4 out for the PS3 also? Not really my thing, so I don't know.
 
I just don't see why a person would buy a 360 now... after it being out awhile, and the PS3 only being a bit more. I miss the days when everything was exclusive.
 
A LOT of games run better on the 360. Like, I bought Assassin's Creed originally for the PS3 and I loved it, but now that I have it for 360 as well, it just LOOKS much better and PLAYS much better--even though it's a non-exclusive game. A lot of games seem to be like that. It's not that bad if you can't compare them yourself, but the 360 does play a lot of games better.

As for the online play, the PS3's online, while free, is kind of crappy. :/ I'm not really into online gaming but I watch my brother play a lot when I happen to be in the room and the 360 outmatches the PS3 by a long shot. There are benefits to paying. I assume Sony's online will eventually get better, but right now it's not up to par.

360 is the way to go so far. More/better exclusives, cheaper, and if it's important to you, backwards compatibility. 8|
 
That does make a lot of sense. It's been out longer So it's had time to tweak everything.
I have neither console and have been debating which one I wanted. I don't know. I think I might ride it out a bit longer. Or until FFXIII comes out. XD
 
I'm amazed at how technical console discussion has become... I just sit with a warm mug of hot chocolate and play computer games; definitely saves me the extra money of buying a console.

I was always the enemy of exclusive games though... but then, practically every RTS is exclusive to Windows so I suppose there's some middle ground.
