I already talked to Derkie about this.
Emoticons can substitute a period and show the end of a sentence if nothing is past it. The Internet has a dialect of its own that normal pronunciation and grammar don't apply. After all, do you find things like "lol" more tolerable on the Internet than in real life?
There's no proof, so I can still question it, even though it seems appropriate.
And aren't abbreviations supposed to be in capital?
The internet may have its own dialect, but it is more than quite similar to what we have.
