Ah, forgot to include House. From the few episodes I've managed to catch... I love House. CSI... Not too bothered, only if I'm extremely bored will I think of watching it if it's on. I do like some documetaries though, only if they're on animals however. I actually have to thank my net going down for a month for me getting acquainted with some TV programs though.

They did, but sadly I was busy watching the Elastic Band Channel at that point so missed it =(

Still, I got to find out how they make them so elastic-y so it was definately worth it =D
You watch that too!
That is the best show since they did a documentary about air!

Oh man, don't even get me started. Seriously, it's hypnotising... o_O

And almost as good as the Card Games Channel /subtleYGOTASreferencesftw
I used to watch the shiny show when I was younger, .. I still watch it sometimes now... In America/anotherreference.

I've seen quite a few episodes of CSI. I don't go out of my way to watch it, but if it's on (And I haven't already seen the episode) I can sit and watch it.

I'd have to agree. Best thing since the documentary about sliced bread.

My hair has I have no idea what that is =D

...lmao I feel kind of lame but I've seen a documentary (or a documentary-ish show) for like every subject that's been brought up. Potatoes, bread (including sliced), air... XD; I used to watch them aaaalll the time as a kid.

I think we had a Documentary Channel when I was a kid? Or at the very least an educational channel. o_O; Honestly I just remember watching them all the time while waiting for Saturday & Sunday morning cartoons to come on. XD;

BBC and ITV were amazing when I was a kid, but now they're rubbish. In fact I don't even think ITV shows kids afterschool programmes any more?

Has anyone noticed that kids shows really, really suck these days?

My brother and I were bored last week and we were watching some... horse show. It was not only animated horribly (I remembered having better quality as a kid) but... oh my god the dialogue. :| Like, they practically walked in and said "We're going to teach you a moral lesson about jealousy!" instead of letting the episode play out and subconsiously teaching lessons. But at least that was better than all the shows that like... ask kids ridiculously obvious questions while the character stares out the screen waiting for an answer. 8(

Augh no wonder kids grow up so fast these days--their cartoons suck!

I know exactly how you feel. They practically force-feed these kids a lesson and they manage to stretch it out over like half an hour. They spend money on these ridiculous shows, .. bring back Tots TV and Parsley the Lion I say. They were enjoyable, not ... stuffed with hideous dialogue.

They do suck. Beyond even just children's shows. The Saturday morning stuff we would look forward to watching.

Starts even earlier than that. Look at early childhood/educational programming. We had The Magic School Bus, Arthur, Franklin, Sesame Street, Shining Time Station, etc. Episodes had some sort of point and like you said, whatever was meant to be accomplished was accomplished without hitting you over the head with it. You were entertained and you learned at the same time.

Now there's stuff like Dora the Explorer. There is no learning in this show. Incredibly poor animation for one thing. All the shows like they were made in Flash now. And then you have Dora say something like "Where's the fox?" and giant red mouse arrow floats by pointing and blinking at whatever the child was asked to find. And then the child is congratulated for not having done anything or learning anything. I hate it.

..I was watching this one show where..well basically it was a Chinese Dora the Explorer. Instead of Spanish they said Mandarin.

...It never had any plot either, just a bunch of random events.

"Oh lets go get dinner! *shoe flys by* GET THE SHOE!"
