Up north in Japan they have similar winters but I've always heard that for the rest of Japan, winters are very mild with only occasional snow, etc. In southern Japan, isn't it fairly warm year-round? Haha, maybe my sources are just way off but...
 
I lived in Iwakuni, Japan. its sorta in the middle of japan and we got loads of snow. 'shruggs' doesnt matter though since canada as pratically lost. X]
 
Loads like, could barely walk out my front door snow. like, could build 6 snowman with the snow on my porch snow.

Edit: my mistake we lived more near Kintai.

The problem is, most countries aren't worth taking over. Those that are worth conquering have militaries that would utterly stomp Canada's into the ground, regardless of the weather.

They may have survived, but they were on the losing side of their encounter with the United States.
 
Australia could "export" our hot weather and melt the snow! :D

...Japan was on the loosing side so technically they were already beat. But now they are on our side, and every country that hates Japan is either:

1. Poor.
2. No military (or at least no good military)

No amount of fighting spirit can compensate for inferior weapons and a crippled industrial complex. It was a war of attrition that Japan would have ultimately lost, even if they had to sacrifice each and every single of its citizens to drive off the Allies.

Japan never quite achieved total victory against its nemesis China, while smaller nations such as Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam put up resistance long after the Japanese had declared military victory over them. Once the United States and Great Britain entered the Pacific theatre in force, all was lost for Japan.
 
Actually most people I know who've been to Japan (to live, as foreigners, specifically) always mention they hate the racist aspects of Japan, where it's perfectly okay to refuse service to someone if they are not Japanese and little things like that. 8) Part of the reason I never really want to move there. People might seem nice but my expectations are so jaded that I'd assume they were faking it lol.

But I'd love to visit one day. Pokemon Centerrrrrs. ;_;
 
Oh yeah, I've heard about the xenophobic aspects of Japan. It's sad how these days there's still fear and prejudice of others in the world. I have heard that the situation in Japan is slowly getting better, though.
 
Sadly the only pokemon center that id been to was in tokyo, but it was so awsome!! it was really crowded though.

There are only a couple of places that don't let americans in, all of wich or Bars.@_@ most japanese love americans.

if your blonde, japanese people especaily adore you. my little sister is, and we would walk down the street and japanese people would pat her on the head. it was really odd.

You said you support them, it's stupid to just support them because they are Japanese, you have to agree with their ethics and ideas.

Sigh, i dont support the Nazzis, i do like the japanese. can i not like one and dislike the other?

Let me ask you: For what reasons do you like the Japanese? People often like something for stupid reasons, like "I like their anime!" or something. What real, in what intellectual sense is the reason you like the Japanese, as a whole. You said you like the Japanese, which is a very broad statement, and seems to be an ignorant one.

The intellectual sense thing is worded awkwardly, and that is only because I couldn't think of a proper way to word it.
