THE DECLINE OF HUMAN NATURE
To whom it may concern,
You have been chosen for an exclusive Pokemon tournament on New Moon Island, hosted by an anonymous rich benefactor. This tournament is a proud addition to any trainer's resume, as it is a test for the strongest training technique in the region. Refreshments will be available, as will stadium-sized fields of various elements to test adaptability. No entry free is required. There is a do-it-yourself Pokemon Center on site - just insert your pokeballs into the machine and they will heal your pokemon.
However, this tournament is a test of training ability. Therefore, it is up to you to reach the island. A thick fog has been placed by pokemon means around the island; find it, and you have completed the first in a series of challanges.
Events will be broadcasted by speaker. Waiting trainers will have access to a large fieldhouse with adaptations for human and pokemon comfort.
The winner will be rewarded $500,000.
We await your arrival and wish you luck.

This is the message that you recieved in your mailbox some time ago. The roleplay begins the day of arrival; it is up to you to make it to New Moon island. However, not everything is what they seem. The benefactor believes that becoming a trainer is too easy these days, and dreams of the days of true training legends. In an effort to keep pokemon from being "ruined", after failing three tests, the trainer's pokemon are "removed" and the individual is sent home on a boat driven by a man specifically trained to navigate the mist. However, this is not discovered until everyone is safely on the island... and trapped by the thickening fog, kept rather thin to encourage less-than-admirable trainers to reach the island.
Although the former home of Darkrai before all legendaries were discovered and went into hiding, the island has been renovated and is equip with many unique set ups. The first is the Fieldhouse, a large building that is the equivalent of a beautiful meadow; lush grass, with a small indoor "pond" for water pokemon, and roosts for flying pokemon. This is where announcements are made for upcoming challanges and battles. There is also a large TV screen on one wall. Within the Fieldhouse is the Pokemon Center.
There are various stages for battle as well as varied tasks.
The Water Stadium:
Any battles are conducted over a tank of water; there is a large "island" in the middle with multiple smaller "island's" around the sides. The tank itself is deep enough for a Wailord to swim around comfortably; the tank extends deep into the ground. Trainers are suspended on hanging platforms.
There are also various challanges conducted here, such as rescuing a trainer's pokemon or finding various items hidden within the tank.
The Air Stadium:
This is a 2 vs. 2 battle arena. The floor is a pit. It is grassy in some places and rocky in others, with large piles of rocks in various areas and corners. The ceiling of the stadium extends over 30 stories above the pit, with the trainer platforms suspended about a quarter of the way up.
The Racetrack:
This is a racing arena. Trainers with rideable pokemon race around a course with various obstacles. The obstacles can change and will be announced before the race. Up to four pokemon can race at a time. There are also races where the pokemon must think for themselves, without the trainer with them.
There are no starters in this roleplay... trainer's arrive with their backgrounds and team already created. They may be veterans, or just starting out - it's totally up to you. No legendaries, and no teams of over 6 pokemon. The roleplay will begin with the various challanges, but will develop as participants realize what is actually happening and try to figure out what to do about it. The fog is tricky in that it lets people in, but does not necessarily let them out...
Also, nobody knows who the benefactor is, or where he may be located... if he is even on the island at all.
How will human nature hold up when it's all about you? Will you crush everyone in your way for the reward and the safety of your pokemon? Will you lose a challange and become that much closer to being kicked off the island in order to save somebody else? The decline of human nature in danger is a very interesting phenomenon

RULES
As for battles/challanges, as long as there's no crazy godmodding, just make sure you're battling fair and eventually come to a conclusion - remember, somebody has to lose, you can't win them all, and this is suppose to be fun!
If you don't answer for 3 days when your doing a challange, even just to say when you will be posting due to outside obligations, the other person automatically wins. Don't worry - different challanges can be going on at different times.
PG-15. I say this because this is a somewhat dark plot, as characters may be pushed to desperate measures. Gore, swearing, romance etc. are fine as long as they are TASTEFUL. If your pokemon is injured in some way that builds the plot or your character makes a sexual joke, it's fine, but please don't push it overboard... I don't think people are much thinking about sex in a situation like this.
There are 6 spots available. :)
