You have to charge no matter what unless you finish the entire battle.

I tried Frenzy Plant (I thought, it can't be THAT bad...?), and whenever I used it in the E4 and KO'ed a Pok?mon, I didn't need to recharge. Sometimes I even used it two times in a row... ^^

I'm playing the GBA version.

Spike, not every single person uses Metagross man.

G-Klav, thanks for clearing that up :P, but on Netbattle, you recharge no matter what.

Metagross
Venasaur
Charizard
Crobat
Weezing
Skarmory
Do I have to give you a complete list of Pokemon that have resistance to grass?

Dont start these arguements again. We all know there is no 1 ultimate pokemon that can do everything. Its all about prediction. If you predict a good time to use FP then good for you. If you stuff it up then too bad. Dont nit pick dammit.

Its not all about prediction, otherwise there is no point because all the teams would be the same trying to predict a switch etc. You have to know what you are doing and how to use the Pokemon you have one you're team. Honestly, prediction is nothing without skill, knowledge and quick thinking.

If you play without predicting you lose.

Spike, I like how you keep record of battles that happened months ago that's really cool man, too cool. >_>

Prediction is the key to competitive battling, your skill using the pokemon means nothing, the pokemon isn't real, it's up to you what move you decide to use, and it's upto you if you decide to predict.

Also, you don't need quick thinking, last I remember Shady changed the battle timeout to 3 minutes, I don't think we need that long between moves so we can basically take our time.

No one is arguing with you about that. If you actually read my post, you can see that I said "...prediction is nothing without..."

Lion Heart, did you just become a stupid? Or where you born that way? Read my signature and you will see why they are listed there. And you shouldn't even be talking if you honetly think HP Fire Magneton is for Skarmory, lol!

You know, thats really funny. You lost to my Ninmaldo team because you did that very same thing, trying to overprediction with little or no skill. You where bad back then and seeing how I never see you on anymore, you probably still are.

Taking you're time to me is the same thing is stalling, if you knew how to think fast the battle is over faster without wasting 15 mins battling some nub. I'm not like you, looking at all my options in battle and thinking slow, I know my teams movesets already and I know what to send out. But hey, that how you play and lose.

If Arcanine is out and so is my Ninjask, abviously I take no chances and send out my Salamence. I'm not gonna take a risk and have it get hit Extremespeed, and by switching, 99.9 percent of the time D-dance safely and if the Arcanine does have Extremespeed I know without loseing it. The way you talk its like you think your opponent will predict you and Howl while you Baton Pass...

Don't try to start a war.

I know why you have them listed there it's just funny.. You should date them so people don't think it just happened yesterday.

I suggested Skarmory as a joke about that, you took it all serious and put it in your sig a while ago, funny.

I don't even remember the battle against you, and I'm usually on Netbattle, as Lion Heart now, not Game Over.
I've tried to hunt you down but you are never on :/

If you played properly, you would analyse your options in battle, unless you tend to only battle new players.

And just how do you know that Arcanine doesn't have HP Ice?
Special Arc's do exist y'know.

I don't start wars, I finish them (wonder where I heard that from... Oh well.)

1500 character limit doesn't give me space to do all that, and what kind of mindless person thinks that I won all of those in one day... only 3 are old, and thats because I havn't battled anyone else on this boared that I know of (maybe there all scared, lol!). The first 3 or 4 are old GSC, but those people are serious battlers who make little or no mistakes, I just happened to win that time. But Lugia schooled me in out first battle...

Jokes usually end with "joking, j/k, kidding, lol". You didn't even say a thing after...

How could you not remember? You where acting like a nub around me, Frost and Lugia, so I decided I would teach you a lesson for mouthing off. Frost will probably remember, I dunno if the topic is still around but I will look if you want. And I rarely go to Smogon (chaos is a jack***), so you can find me on the second highest English server.

I can remember my opponents moveset and predict his movements aftewards very quickly. The only person I have trouble predicting is aDORKable, he will do some unstandard stuff in battle that catches me off gaurd. So far, since GSC I havn't beaten him 5 out of 20 or so battles =|...

Wasting HP just to KO one Pokemon is a big was of time, thats basic.

No, HP Ice on Arcy can stop more than just Salamence.

Get on Smogon and battle some real players.

Its can't use it to its advantage afterwards, stop arguing like you know something. Are you gonna HP Ice a ground type? No, cause Arcanine will faint after a STABed Quake. You gonna HP Ice Aerodactyl? No, cause its outspeeds you first, Slides, and then finishes you off.

It all depends on who you are against.

Arcanine is able to take a hit, and he can deal back some pretty nice damage.

In certain situations, letting a pokemon die to take off some HP, to allow for another pokemon to go for the kill is necessary, which is an area I can see Arcanine being used in.

Incase you didn't realize, Ice is SE against more than Ground, Arcanine has both the Speed and Special Attack to take on the Dragons, actually, I'm going to run the test now.

Max Sp.Atk Arc HP Ice against Salamence (Stock Standard, 217 Sp.Def):

Minimum Damage 87%
Average Damage 95%
Maximum Damage 103%

Note most people have no Sp.Def EV's, which makes a guarenteed OHKO.

Against Dragonite (Stock Standard, 257 Sp.Def):

Minimum Damage 74%
Average Damage 80%
Maximum Damage 87%

Even that's a 2HKO.

It'd definately scare the opponent off.

A stock standard Arcanine with 217 Def, is 2HKO'd by a Max Atk Salamence's EQ.

If you get lucky and are able to hit Sal after he's been weakened, Arcanine could make great use of his Sp.Atk, after all, it IS 328 with Nature.

How about Flamethrower/HP Ice/Crunch/Extremespeed.

I'd personally prefer Roar over Crunch though.

Or like my Toxicing Arcanine.

Arcanine (M) @ Quick Claw
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 140 Atk / 252 Spd / 118 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Extremespeed
- Overheat
- Protect
- Toxic

Not bad, but I don't think Arcanine needs the Speed.

He has Extremespeed...

But a quick toxic could be nice.

That's to get in an Overheat or Toxic before it get's KO'ed.

I think with an EV re-adjustment, you could use that set quite well.

By EV adjustment I mean, it really doesn't need all that much Speed, or Attack... or even Sp.Atk :P

It could do with some defenses, some Speed to outrun the slower pokemon, enough Sp.Atk so it can break Subs, and enough Attack to finish pokemon who are getting low on health (Around 13%ish).

I would make an EV spread but I have a bit of a headache, the last few days have made me think too much >_<

CB Mence, dead, no matter what its Ev's are. Sorry Lion, you lose.

If a CB Mence decided to not predict a switch, and attempted to kill Arcanine, the opponent isn't to smart.

If it Quakes, I whip out Gengar, if it Slides, I whip out TTar and Dance.

Obviously, you don't lead with an Arcanine, it's best to lead with a pokemon you can setup.
Meaning, I will know Mence's set.

Sorry Spike, you lose.

You failed because you introduce a whole team now. Its between two Pokemon, not six. Mence over Arcanine a good 99.9 percent of the time. You cannot see a CB Mence coming so that nubby HP Ice Arc loses. You don't need to send bad rep because you failed, its just makes you seem lamer than you already are. Bad enough you whin and pretend you didn't battle me before, but then again, 5-0 my favour makes you look bad =\.

Pokemon battles are made up of more than 2 pokemon, for those of you who didn't know that, Spike.
No need to complain about the bad rep either, you deserved it.

I know I battled you once, I can't remember how the battle went it was within my 1st week of battling -_-;

You also changed Salamence to become a CBMence, who's to say it's not a DDMence?

Sal used DD, Arcy HP Iced.
Arcy ESd, Sal died.

1 on 1 it's possible for Arcanine to win.

Without CB, no dance, Arc still wins.

Sal used EQ, Arcy used HP Ice.
Arcy ESd. Sal died.

Now to get back on topic.

What about a Hyper Beaming Tyranitar?

Sub/Beam/Bolt/Crunch or Punch.

I think it could work out if you had another team member put the enemy to sleep or something.

Before Spike complains about the Beams any more than he already has, they are just an idea, we know they can make you lose out, but the extra power does come in handy.
