"Jeez, it's hot!" Zack said, currently on the deck chair. He had been out here because a bunch of his friends were having a party, and invited Zack. Zack looked around to find someplace cooler. Then, he saw a big oak tree with massive branches. He walked over there and leaned against the tree, then took his sketchbook out of the backpack that he always wore. He got a pencil and colored pencils, then began to doodle. Zack had been drawing a lot recently, ever since he got the sketchbook. He'd been drawing eyes, pokeballs, imaginary pokemon, and all kinds of other things. He had just been drawing a really cool pokemon when...
    "LOOK OUT!"
Zack raised his head, then was instantly knocked to the ground. Somebody had tackled him.
"Hey, what the heck?!?!? Why did you do-" Then Zack saw why.

Where he had been leaning against the tree, a Fearow had embedded it's beak in the bark.

"Oh." Zack said, suddenly grateful. "Thanks. You saved my life."
"No problem. It's what I do." Zack could now see who had saved him. It was a man who looked to be about 20. He had fair skin, stark black hair, green eyes, and was wearing a white shirt and jeans. The man got up, and so did Zack. Zack could see now that the man had white and red shoes.
"Now then, I'll be off," The man said, then dashed off. After that, Zack noticed that lots of pokemon were ticked off for some reason. One time, he had been walking through the woods to get to Sundance City when a Vileploom came out of nowhere and tried to use Stun Spore on him. Luckily, Zack had dodged, then jumped over the Vileploom and ran the rest of the way. Another, he was going to watch a friend catch an Ambipom, but when his friend threw the pokeball, the Ambipom grabbed it, and threw it right at Zack! Luckily, he hadn't been absorbed or whatever, but it hit him in the face and left a big bruise. It apparently wasn't happening to just him; His mom had been watching the news, and had said,
    "Zack? Come look at this."
Zack had come over, and heard what the reporter had been saying.
"...mysterious occurrences in which wild pokemon randomly attack all over the globe. Even cute little pokemon like Chansey have suddenly turned hostile." It was madness. And that madness that left Zack with just one question:

    What's happening to this world?

    -------------------------------------------

Zack was lounging in his room, still wondering what had caused these pokemon to go berserk when his mom called him.
    "Zack?"
    "Yeah, Mom?"
"I need favor. Come down here." Zack trudged down the stairs and saw his mom sitting on the couch. "I need you to go deliver something to my friend in Sundance City."
    "Why?"
"Because she really needs it for a project she's working on, and it's due by 4:15."
"Oh." Zack's mom handed him a weird mechanical thing and a strip of paper with an address on it. Zack began to walk out the door, but then realized something. "What if I get attacked by those ticked-off pokemon?"
"Hmm.... you have a point." Zack's mom sat and thought for a while, then she snapped her fingers. "Well, Zack, I think it's time you got a pokemon."
Zack's jaw dropped. His mom had always said that he was too young for a pokemon, even now when he was 12. But he was finally getting a pokemon!
"Thank you!" Zack said enthusiastically. He then dashed out the door with machine and paper in hand, and ran to Professor Redwood's lab.
"Why hello, Zack," Professor Redwood said when he saw Zack burst in, "What are you doing here? I thought your mother would never let you get a pokemon."
"Well, she let me get one now because of all the rampaging pokemon. I need one to protect myself."
"Well then, have a look. I have every starter in the world in this lab."
"What about the ones from Isshu? What're their names? Oh yeah, Tsutaaja, Pokabu, and Mijimaru."
"Well, sadly, those are off-limits to me."
"Oh. Still, I have a lot to choose from." Zack marveled at all of the choices. "I choose... Totodile!" Zack grabbed the pokeball and released the pokemon inside. "Whoa..." Zack marveled.
    His Totodile was shiny.
"Looks like you were very lucky today, Zack. Every day I add a shiny starter to my others. If a trainer is lucky, they get their mitts on the shiny," Redwood explained, "And you were lucky."
"Wow. Thank you, Professor Redwood. I'll take good care of him."
"Alright. So long, Zack! Oh, and don't forget these!" And with that, Redwood gave Zack some pokeballs, walked with him to the path to Sundance City, and bid him good luck. While he was walking the path with his Totodile beside him, a wild Skarmory came out of the woods. Zack was startled my this, but regained his senses enough to know he should try to catch it.
"Totodile, use Water Gun!" A stream of water came right from Totodile's mouth. It hit dead on, and knocked the Skarmory to the ground. "Now use Bite!" Totodile bit the Skarmory's wing, and even though the Skarmory tried to shake him off, Totodile stayed on. After a while, the Skarmory seemed like it was about to collapse. Now's my chance, Zack thought. He grabbed one of his pokeballs and hurled it at the Skarmory. The Skarmory was sucked into the pokeball in a bright white light, while Totodile, who had still been hanging onto Skarmory's wing, fell face-first into the dirt. Zack kept his eyes trained on the pokeball he had thrown. One shake... two shakes... three shakes.... click! "YES!!!" Zack yelled loudly.
    A bit too loudly.
A whole flock of Spearow flew above the trees, apparently awoken from sleep. But the many enraged Spearow didn't scare him. It was the other kind of pokemon that scared him, and it scared him like nothing else could.

    One.
    Ticked-off.
    Fearow.

Zack was terrified. He ran along the path, grabbing his pokeball and scooping up his Totodile, and ran as fast as his legs could carry him. He ran and ran and ran, until he found himself in Sundance City, and no Spearow or Fearow in sight. Zack sighed a sigh of relief, and looked at the paper in his hand. "6023 Lightburst Road," Zack read aloud, "Well, I'm on Lightburst Road, so the house can't be far." Zack looked around the street. "6019, 6020, 6021, 6022... there!" Zack exclaimed, "6023!" Zack dashed inside. A woman was sitting next to a big machine. Hearing Zack come in, she turned to look at him. "Who are you?" the woman asked.
"I'm Jane's son. She asked me to bring you this thing." Zack handed the woman the machine.
"Oh! Thank you, young man. What's your name?"
    "Zack."
    "Zack. That's a nice name."
"Well, I have to get back to my mom's house. Bye!"
    "Goodbye!"
Zack walked out the door. He felt good. That is, until, he looked up.

The sky was flooded with Spearow.

Is this in the wrong section? What is this all about?

    Day One; The Spearow

A young girl with flowing pink pig-tails stepped out of a middle-class house in the town of Pallet. It was bright and sunny, a perfect day for her to head out to Veridian on a quest of breakfast foods. The door closed behind her, and the fair-haired girl paused to kick her shiny, black doll shoes on the ground to make sure they were on tight. Clutching onto a white, woven basket with two Pokémon's heads poking out curiously, Piper ran forward towards tall grass, trees and steep ledges.

She'd always been warned not to venture into the Routes just outside of towns and cities, they contained what were labeled as "wild" Pokémon, and would hurt her... But what had happened later was definitely not normal. She was laughing and picking up berries from some bushes, every time she'd place a berry in the basket, he Eevee or Vulpix would eat it up. She found them to be all too cute; she'd made it over half way to Viridian City before she heard branch snap.

Everything was chillingly quiet for a while, the wind wasn't gusting its soothing breeze of air anymore. The little girl looked up towards the sky, shielding her vision from the blinding sun with her free arm, and saw but one shady figure.

It was a bird, soaring in the sky almost directly above Piper. Her Pokémon began to growl and quiver, they too had sensed something eerie among the three of them.

"Shh... It's ok Button, Spiral. We're almost there, see?" her voice, she'd noticed, was extremely shaken and squeaked with uneasiness. Spiral, the Vulpix leapt out of the basket and opened its small, orange mouth. An orb of orange and yellow tint formed, aimed upwards at the flying shadow of a foul, it grew in size then bolted out at its target.

The move was Ember, a Fire Pokémon move where balls of fire shoot out from the mouth of the user. The attack cooled off and vanished before it could connect with the Spearow; still, the bird turned, a gleam in its chaotic eyes, and dive bombed towards the group. Piper's eyes widened at the sight of the hostile creature.

"Run!" screamed the young girl, holding tightly to the basket which Button the Eevee sat growling in. The Vulpix nodded, they took off towards Viridian. Piper accidentally snapped a twig and with the silence of the route, it echoed out, triggering more enraged Spearow.

The dive bombing red, brown and black Pokémon had merged into a thick block of Spearow. They were all cawing out and attempting to scathe little Piper and her fox Pokémon. Finally, darting past a sign that read "Welcome to Viridian City!" the worn out, sweating and near crying little girl raced into the safety of a building. "Pokémon Center" this was convenient.

The doors closed and the sounds of raging birds died down and faded with distance. She wanted to collapse and sit on the tiled floor, but knew she'd need to inform somebody of the dilemma.

"Nurse Joy, Nurse Joy!" Piper placed the basket on the counter, Button the Eevee jumped out and into its trainer's arms.

"What is it? Calm down, here. Let me take your Pokémon and we'll discuss what the issue is while they're being treated." the nurse took Eevee and Vulpix to the back, and returned with a smile.

"The Spearow are acting crazy, they tried to hurt me." she took a few deep breaths and continued "Everything went all quiet and then the Spearow, the wild ones, they just sort of attacked. Spiral and Button were shaking and growling, Nurse Joy, I've never seen anything like it!"

Joy nodded her head before thinking deeply. She went to the phone and began to dial numbers...

Dylan lived in Viridian City and he had just being walking around the bushes of the path between Pallet and Viridian where the girl was attacked.
He laughed a little as he sneakily watched her disappear into the Pokemon Center.

"Girls... Get scared over nothing." He said to himself as he stumbled out of the bushes and onto the pathway.
He looked behind him and could see the flock of Spearow flying into the sun. Strolling to the other side of the pathway, he spotted a small Caterpie on the ground.

"Time to go, Squirtle!" He yelled as he through a PokeBall high into the air and a small blue figure with a shell on it's back emerged.
"Water Gun" Dylan commanded the Turtle Pokemon and a spout of clear blue water poured from Squirtles mouth.
The Caterpie lay lifelessly in a puddle. Knowing this would be an easy catch, he dropped a PokeBall next to the Caterpie and before you knew it the small bug had been absorbed.

"1...2...3... To easy." He thought to himself as he pocketed his new Pokemon.

He strolled up to the Pokemon Center of Viridian fully aware that his Caterpie would need medical assistance to get back on his feet after Squirtle's powerful water gun. When he entered, he immediately spotted the girl from before and hid a snigger.

((Ooc: Lol, since I dunno what our goal is, I'm just going to go with the flow so here goes...))

After making a few calls, the nurse looked up at Piper with eyes of depression.

"Chansey." two large, pink Egg Pokémon emerge from the Status Room wearing nurse hats and pushing a cart. Button and Spiral were playfully gnawing and nipping on each other. They stopped when the cart was placed in front of the front desk, and bounded into the ten-year-old girl's arms. She withstood the blow, dropping the basket and holding the two cuddling Fox Pokémon in her stuffed arms.

"I'm afraid that Pokémon have become strangely violent all around the world. My cousins have seen incidents just like this one. We still don't know what the cause is." just as Nurse Joy finished up her statement, the Pokémon Center's doors glided open, Piper jumped and span about. She feared that the Spearow would come wafting in like a swarm of Beedrill at any moment. Instead, to Piper's dismay, there stood a boy.

He looked slightly older than Piper, and was definitely taller. His hair seemed matted and was the color of a Growlithe's back-stripe. With an antagonizing look in his water-blue eyes, the boy seemed to be holding back a chuckle of sorts. Was this who she had heard back there?

Spiral struggled in the girl's grasp for freedom. Finally, she'd given up on holding the orange fox, and it pounced to the ground -- and her auburn eyes seemed to ignite like a match.

"Vullll..." she challenged, lowering into a defensive pose. It didn't like the looks of Dylan, that was for sure. Yet, Spiral didn't seem to feel the need to take initiative, she was only guarding Piper.

"Stop it, Spiral. We need to share the Center, too. Come on, let's go sit down for a while." as the girl walked to a bench in the building, so did her Vulpix, but it was still eyeing the boy trainer skeptically.

Piper was horrified, she didn't want to exit the Pokémon hospital. What if they were still out there and waiting for her, she couldn't chance it. But she knew that there was power in numbers, and her cat-like emerald eyes raked at the boy's profile. Maybe he could help her.

    "Hey, you."

Dylan turned before he got to the front desk and walked over to where Piper was sitting. He looked up at her with a blank face.
"Yes?" He replied questioningly. He waited for a reply.

She wasn't very good when it came to children her own age, they all seemed... Well, childish to be blunt. His short responses began to unnerve Piper, but after a deep breath, she smiled.

"Well, since it's dangerous outside, I was wondering if you and your Pokémon would like to team up with me and mine. After all, there is power in numbers... And, well, how cool would it be if we solved this mystery?" She made a gesture to Button and Spiral. Immediately they obeyed and returned to sitting calmly ((well, as calm as the Vulpix could be with a stranger so close to the girl)).

His Pokémon... This rose Piper's curiousity. It was obvious that this boy didn't feel threatened by her tense fire-fox, he hadn't even attempted to reach at a Pokéball. Perhaps he didn't even have Pokémon, in which case, Piper would be in more trouble than not.

She came to the conclusion that if he was in the Pokémon Center, then he must have Pokémon. A small nod exposed itself, showing that she agreed with her thoughts, she then rose to her feet.

"So what exactly do you have? My Pokémon are obvious," she patted Button's little brown head lightly. "They don't like being in their Pokéballs. They're house pets, you see? Oh..." Reaching into the basket, the pink-haired, green-eyed girl pulled out a pink machine. It was her Pokédex.

"And do you have one of these?" she was honestly trying her best to become some sort of friend figure to this boy, it wasn't that she liked him, she actually held a pretty vile opinion on him just based on the way he looked and dressed. It was simply strategy -- she learned it from her mother, men are stability.

Without allowing him to respond, Piper inhaled deep then exhaled softly. She started to walk to the Center doors.

He looked at her blankly then opened his mouth.
"Sure. I guess you do need looking after from what I saw back there." He said and tried desparetly to change his small laugh to a cough.
    He began again.

"If what you meant by 'one of these' was Pokemon, I have two. Squirtle and Caterpie. But I only just caught Caterpie so he's very week." He pleaded as he showed her the two PokeBalls he had attached to his PokeBelt.
"I'll be right back..." He turned and walked over to the counter of the Pokemon Center.

Piper began to notice that the boy was giving her a blank stare as she was walking away. Was her intelligence level too much for him? In any case, the cat-eyed female made it to the door and waited patiently for English to escape his vocals. Eventually, he spoke up and to Piper's dismay, what he said was insulting.

She didn't NEED his help, her free fist balled up in anger. Thankfully, it only took a few deep breathes for her to regain her posture. Now he seemed to cough, but it sounded funny, faked -- what was wrong with this fellow? He came off as piercingly arrogant; it would be extremely difficult for her to even consider getting through a day with him, let alone an entire journey.

    "
If what you meant by "one of these...he droned on, seeming to brag about his elite collection of two Pokemon -- his starter and a weakened Caterpie, a novice bug Pokemon for beginners.

The girl looked down at her two fox Pokemon with affection and adoration. She shrugged to herself and passed the judgement of 'I suppose not everyone is born into lavish Pokemon...'

    "
I'll be right back..." Dylan stated before heading over to the counter where Nurse Joy sat.

    "
Kay..." The girl child sighed hard, her Eevee mirrored the annoyance lighting up her trainer's eyes. 'Just take your time...' she thought sarcastically. Eventually, she began to tap the toe of her shoe on the floor with impatience.

He returned without the PokeBalls in his belt.
"You sure you want me to come? You seem as though you regret asking me.." -He said catching her off-guard from her thoughts.
    He waited for a reply.

Zack was both amazed and scared at all the spearow. Should he scream? Admire it? Or what? Then, he looked up at the sky a bit closer and his decision was made.

There was a fearow up there.

    "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!"

Zack broke out in a panic. He was doomed. That fearow had been ticked off at him since he first found it. Was it bad enough? And now it's cranky, too? He was going to die!!! GOING TO FREAKING DIE!!!!
Ok, Zack, calm down. You have pokemon now. You can fight this thing! Zack thought to himself. He looked toward his belt. His new partners, Totodile and Skarmory, were in their pokeballs. Zack grabbed them noon-showdown-style and sent them out.
"LET'S DO THIS!!!" Zack screamed at the top of his lungs.

    (OOC: You guys go now.)

The girl nearly leaped out of her cream-colored skin as Dylan seemed to sneak up on her and question her intentions. He was now asking if she truely wanted him to accompany her. Confused, she turned around to look at him -- his Pokéballs were gone and so that meant they must be with Nurse Joy.

She was tired of waiting inside of the Pokémon Center, she was eager to figure out this mystery. The basket half full of adorable fox Pokémon didn't help; their eyes were locked on the profile of Piper, they too were becoming bored with this single room.

"How about you decide if you really want to come with me or not... In the mean time, I will be outside."

A practical solution, if the boy didn't wish to 'waste' his time with her, she'd simply find someone else... Or something else. As she turned around and walked out the sliding doors, Spiral the Vulpix smirked at Dylan. It displayed a tounge-face at the boy trainer and then disappeared behind closed doors.

((Ooc: Just gonna pretend we're in the vacinity of Zack.))

She gasped at what she had now witnessed -- there was a mob of Spearow and they seemed to have a leader. It was the evolved form of Spearow, known as the 'Beak' Pokémon... DING! Her Pokédex sounded, Button grabbed it out of the basket and handed it gently to her trainer.

    "image removed"

"Fearow; Normal and Flying type: It shoots itself suddenly high into the sky, then plummets down in one fell swoop to strike its prey."

"Ya know, that's cool information and everything but how do we get rid of it?!" Piper's heart was racing, and now her mouth was running. She frantically pressed buttons on the machine until it started to speak again.

"If it senses danger, it flies high and away, instantly." the Pokédex then went dark, and that was when Piper noticed another boy. This one had a different gait and stance about himself, and it looked like he was going to battle the birds.

The fair-haired girl got a large smile on her face; this was her kind of guy. She ran up to him, staring directly at the opponents and told him about what the Pokédex had said.

Spiral and Button had abandoned the safety of their trainer's basket and were now in attack stance beside Zack's Skarmory and Totodile.

"I'll lend you a hand." she whispered, not sure it was loud enough for the male trainer Zack to hear.

Dylan watched Piper stroll through the doors before heading back to the main desk.
"Are they done yet?" He said eagerly as Nurse Joy sat typing away on her computer. She gave him a nod and handed him two shiny PokeBalls.
"Thanks." He waved as he walked through the door.
He looked around for Piper but couldn't see her anywhere, that was until he noticed a flash of light in the near distance.
He moved closer to the scene and spotted Piper and another boy battling a bunch of wild Spearow and a big bird he couldn't quite make out in the sunlight.

"Need a hand?" He said as he forwarded now realising that the big bird he had seen was a Fearow, the evolution of Spearow. Twice the size and twice as lethal.

"TOTODILE!" Zack screamed, "USE WATER- huh?" He turned to see Piper.
    "Need a hand?" Piper whispered.
"Sure. Need as much help as I can get." And so Piper and Zack gave commands to their pokemon, fending off the spearow swarming around the town square.
"Need a hand?" a voice said. Zack turned. It was Dylan.
"Who's this guy? Oh well, sure. Three trainers are better than two."
(OOC: Alright, let's do this guys!)

    Doesn't this need a story? O_O

((Ooc: The Who, please talk out of conversation on the OOC thread. Thanks (: ))

Piper nodded and winked at Spiral. The Vulpix barked out as if using the attack called roar. A few wild birds fanned out, startled by the booming noise, but they weren't threatened for long.

Button, the pink-haired girl's Eevee couldn't do much but growl in a low to the ground stance. She was ready to pounce on the off chance that a Spearow would land on the ground. A few did, attempting to taunt the brown and tan fox -- but stopped after they realized the fierceness of Button's quick attack.

She flew off of the ground, nearly vanishing with blinding speed only to appear just before smashing into an unsuspecting bird and rendering them unconscious.

"Spiral, show them your ember attack." Piper commanded, aiming up at a group of cawing rivals. They had swooped down and began to peck frantically at Button, she was crying out and limping back to her trainer... Spiral straightened her pose and let out three large puffs of fire belt out of her maw. They smacked into the attacking fowl, but the friendly fire spattered out and also hit the Eevee.

Piper gasped and took out a Pokéball calling Button back. She did what she could with what she had, Button had done well and deserved some rest.

"Alright, Spiral -- help the other Pokémon."

"Vul!" Spiral nodded and stood beside the Totodile.

    ((Sorry it's short.))

Dylan saw Piper's pokemon as weaklings. He gave a slight grin and pulled a small pokeball of his belt.
"Go, Squirtle!" He commanded as a small blue figure with a shell on it's back emereged. "Use water gun!" He gave his second command and an irregularly strong flow of water came pouring from squirtles mouth.
This pokemon seemed more powerful then a normal Squirtle of that level.

    ((Quality not quantity. (;))

(OOC: Sorry about not posting for a while.)
Zack had been daydreaming a bit, but then he snapped back to reality. He started yelling out commands.
"TOTODILE! WATER GUN! SKARMORY! STEEL WING!"
The two did as ordered, and wiped out a good amount of Spearow.
They did as so, and in a few minutes, there were almost no spearow leftover.
Zack almost was confident everything was going to turn out ok. Until a few seconds later. Sadly, Zack did not hear the rush of air behind him until it was too late. Something grabbed his shirt collar, and he started being lifted into the air. Zack was terrified, and screamed. He tried to look up to see what grabbed him, and that scream got louder.
    The Fearow.
"HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!" Zack exploded, trying to get attention so that someone could K.O. the Fearow, maybe even kill it. But even though people noticed, their Pokemon's attacks weren't strong enough to even do a small bit of damage. Zack even saw Skarmory come to try to attack it with Steel Wing, but got knocked to the ground, unconscious.
"SKARMORY!!" Zack yelled, knowing that he was doomed. The Fearow carried him higher and higher, and eventually Zack couldn't even tell people from telephone poles. Zack watched as the city shrunk even more, and began to sob.

There was now no Spearow left in the clearing and Dylan felt strongly that Squirtle had done a good job. As he watched Zack drift away into the distance he returned Squirtle and grieved over the fact that there was nothing, no matter how hard he thought, that he could do to help Zack at this moment in time.

"See you around." He said waving and strolling away from Piper back in to the city as if nothing had happened, but he was thinking as hard as he could.

His only thought was to run to the Pokemon Police Station and report that a Pokemon had just kidnapped a young boy of around the same age as him. After that the only thing he could do was go catch a Pidgey, train it, and teach it how to fly.

That is what Dylan had now set his heart on doing...

As Zack sobbed, he was looking down and noticed the familiar tones of Chrysanthemum City. Was the fearow going to drop him there? Apparently not, because it kept on flying. Then Zack saw a cave high on a cliff, not far from Chrysanthemum, which apparently was their destination. As the Fearow landed in the cave, it dropped Zack on the floor and then began to fly off. Zack was now stuck here. He looked around. There were just stalactites, stalagmites, and a nest, filled with pokemon (presumably spearow) eggs. Zack took off his backpack, and got out a lunchbox.
"Good thing I have this," he said to himself. He started eating a turkey sandwich, and decided to try to look on the bright side. It was an amazing view. Zack realized he had his sketchbook with him. So he got it out, and started drawing what he saw from the overlook, making the most of it, but still shedding the occasional tear.
