Okay, I figured out the Rare Candy thing, but I still can't get the Shiny code to work...

Another question =P I know where and how to EV train, but is there a "best" spot for doing it?

can i get an iv battle and for each stat there are good spots which stat are you training in?
 
For Defense I usually do the gravelers and steelixes in Victory road because they each give 2 evs
 
How about for attack? I'm trying to EV my Altaria for Attack and defense, so that when it learns Sky Attack, it has better defense while it draws power and then more attack for when it hits.
 
For attack fish in the water above and to the left of the resort area you'll get a gyarados(2 attack evs) 100% of the time if you use the super rod
