Great battle, deso, thanks for participating. :D

Alright folks, we're getting to the grind now. With two full teams into round two, and two half-teams, we're waiting on two matches, me/Kairyu and aragornbird/sam. XD

Now I would go right to fighting Kairyu, but that leaves us with seven because sam never posts and aragorn is inactive. Therefore, both Kairyu and myself will move onto round three (with my partner Ito_Igami, since MasterUmbreon was D/Q'd) and _Prince_ can move on without aragorn (so long as he doesn't post before 12:01a.m.of Monday, December 15th.)

So on Sunday night, I'll be sorting people into either the Red Group and Green Group. -Kairyu and I will be put in the same group for fairness, since we should still be required to battle each other. See you then!

So Umbreon is DQ'd? Well, You cant say I didn't warn him...

Now im confuzzled as to how round three will work.....

It works the same way the Whirl Cup matches go; round robin format. You'll be in a group of 4 people and you battle all 3 of them. The two with the best record move on to the Semi-Finals. The losers get to battle for 5th-8th place.

Sorry for the hold up, but I finally have time to battle again. Looks like I'm just in time too.

No worries Aragorn. See if you can contact your opponent and set up a time =P

Well, the thing is sam hasn't been online since the 11th.

If he hasn't contacted you yet, then we'll have to give you the win since he hasn't made an effort to do so. But we'll see until tomorrow.

ALRIGHT THEN. XD

We've got our round three. Now I know I'm going out on a limb, but with so many people moving on by DQ, I had to be fair to those of us who actually battled. So without further ado...

RED GROUP
The Graceful Assassin
_Prince_
aragornbird
The American Battler
Ito_Igami

GREEN GROUP
-Kairyu
Volkner's Apprentice
Matt-O
Kanye West
(LL) Mystery2009

I added an extra member to each group due to aragorn's return. The reason Mystery was chosen as opposed to losers such as Mukka, juno, or deso was because of two main reasons:
a) He's a past finalist, I know he can handle the heat of this competition, especially the intensity that this round will produce.

b) He was the closest loser, score-wise, whose partner was DQ'd, so it's the fairest option we have as of now.

Due to all of you being very good at finishing matches and being active (hopefully) we're putting a due date of Monday, December 29th. That's two blissfully long weeks, let's make sure we don't need it to come to that. XD

If you don't know how this part of the tournament works, it's easy: you fight each person in your group. The two with the best record in each group move on to the Semi-Finals. The other three will duke it out with the three from the other group to see who finishes 5th-10th (more on that when we get to it, either way consider yourself achieved because everyone gets at least one prize at this point!)

hmm so lets see.... Mystery didnt qualify by making the grade from the first round and now he is into the third round riding that same boat... how about giving it to someone who actually made the grade from the start ....that makes morre sense. rather than someon who failed to qualify for both rounds and is still in the third. What now, is he gonna "lucky loser " his way into the 4th. Damn i wish i hadnt qualified past round one too, if it meant getting his luck, then why not? "past finalist", rofl.... then that should mean that he should give someonelse a chance now. This is bogus. If anything Mukka or desolation deserve it more. I have notice the bias in this tourny for a few now...hmm..rofl

It actually has nothing to do with that, I'm just giving more of a reason for him specifically. Plus, there's no other way we can move people on to round three without having a messy or uneven number.

Like I said, the real reason is because, unlike your team (you both battled and both lost, so there was no way your partner could pull you through) cowan never showed up to help Mystery out. So Mystery had an unfair DQ, just like desolation. However, desolation was the last wildcard in, I accepted him like, three seconds before round 2 began, he had the worst record of round one (no offense, deso, again you're awesome and thanks for participating) and also doesn't check in (and by that I mean post, not just look at the thread) nearly as much as Mystery does. Activity counts a lot.

In a nutshell, I'm not being biased really; I don't know Mystery all that well, I've never battled him myself, he didn't donate more awesome prizes than any other entrant, etc. If you're basing things solely off the 'he was a past finalist thing' then you're looking in the wrong spot. The part about him battling and deserving the LL slot is the part you should focus on.

However, since I realize that there are a lot of quirks to this whole round, including me even being in the third round (trust me..I'm only winning like, 30% of my matches as of late), I'll talk things over with Aurafire and we'll see what makes the most sense. I'll let you know right now though, the only other person with a chance of replacing Mystery is Mukkamoto. We'll discuss it, if that'll make you feel better.

thats what i said mukka deserves it. i dont deserve it nor ask it. Mukka is the one i said and also deso over Mystery because Mystery already had a shot. but no one deserve a double free ride in over someone who actual got all his battles done and made the rounds the right way. thats just wrong. Giving this to Mystery is like carring a sick dog every step of a race and then turning arround and claiming that the dog won. Mystery had his luck. he got pushed into round two while not having the neccessary points ... how does he get that same luck in round two ? its time for someone else to get it. I mean seriously....Mukka is by far the one who should get this.

That was a little too harsh for my taste, Juno, it's not that big of an issue. I'll remind you Mystery is up against the same people that caused him to only have a 3-2 record in Round One. I'd also like to state desolation had a worse record (either 2-2, or 1-3, or something, I know it was worse than 3-2 because my wildcard was above his and I had a 3-2 record.) So either way, Mystery is going to have his work cut out for him to even win one match.

And again, there wasn't a need to reply to my last post, I said we'd go and consider Mukka, and I have yet to talk to Aurafire about it, but we will. Of course I know Mukka is an excellent battler, he had a great round one record, but the ESO Round 2 is set up so that you have to win by a bigger margin than your partner's loss. I know you aren't saying you want to move through, but Mukka lost too, meaning your team was out either way. Mystery lost 0-2, and if cowan had defeated Kanye like, 3-0, then we would have moved Mystery's team on. But cowan didn't show, and that's more unfair.

Bleh, sorry if this is messy and confusing, like I said we're working on it. For now, everyone else can get to battling whose in their group.

EDIT: Alright, Mystery and Mukkamoto will battle to determine who gains the LL slot. In our opinion, they both deserve it in different ways, Mukka obviously showed more prowess this time around rather than in ESO1 when he couldn't battle too often, and Mystery simply because of the unfair round two he was given. Plus this clears things up a bit.

And as a note, for ESO#3 Round 2 is going to work differently..there are far too many complications with teams/scrolls, so we'll reformat and get back to you guys. For now, everyone else can start Round Three matches (and please do!)

Prince and aragorn in the same group: This will be one tough 3rd Round...
