Name: Melanie Mercyme
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Personality: There is only one word to describe Mel: eccentric. She is probably the most unique person you will ever meet. She loves all that is unique and rare, and prizes originality above all else. Nobody is able to understand her way of thinking, and she somehow always manages to overturn people's expectations. The moment you think she is going to do one thing, she does the other. She is completely unpredictable. Her tastes seem to change every day, and even her parents have trouble with her erratic behavior.
However, that is also her good side. She always moves at her own pace, never concerned with what others think of her. Nothing seems to perturb her, nothing can chain her down. She is like the wind, constantly changing direction but always unrestrained and free-spirited.
Appearance: Her taste in clothes greatly reflect her personality. Her medium-length, dirty blonde hair is streaked with pink and tied with streamers. A seven centimeter-long silver hourglass hangs from her left ear. She leaves her denim jacket (with one sleeve going all the way to her wrist and another only up to her elbow) unzipped so one can clearly see the white shirt splattered with splotches of red, blue, green, yellow, orange, and purple that she wears underneath. Her pants are black jeans, and they bear three large claw marks. A golden key ring holding four keys, each larger than the next, dangles from her right wrist while a simple string displaying a single, blood-red bead is strung around her left one. She wears black ballet slippers and has a huge, oversized black belt with the letters MM written in gothic gold letters on it looped crookedly around her waist. Her right sock is white decorated with yellow chicks while her left one is yellow with white sheep. She loves music, so she if often seen wearing her pink earphones.
History: Considering Mel's personality, she had a pretty normal childhood. She lived in Celadon City all her life, and partially attended a public school there. I say partially because she skipped classes on a regular basis and only came half the time, and even when she did come, nothing good ever happened. She was well-known for her eccentricity, since she often came to school with apples hanging from her belt or paper clips in her hair. Her teachers despaired and eventually gave up on her wearing proper clothes to school. And though she was repeatedly kept for detentions and punished, they could never find any reason to expel her, since she wasn't technically breaking any major school rules and she was somehow always able to keep her grades up. Her parents worried constantly about their daughter. Even they weren't able to keep up with her way of thinking. She was completely and totally unpredictable, nobody knowing what she would do next. The school staff and her neighbours cringed at the thought of her; the majority of the student body treated her like a bomb that would go off at any moment. And yet Mel never cared. When her exams came up, she breezed through them as well. Nobody ever knew when she found the time to study or how she even knew what to study. She also nailed Pokemon training. Many people were surprised at this, thinking that her odd personality would repel Pokemon. Nevertheless, she never entered any league, since she disliked the stereotypical starters. However, since this world-wide tournament offered many new Pokemon and was unlike anything ever seen before, Mel of course accepted the invitation. That was three days ago, and she has been packing her clothes and accessories ever since.
Fatal Flaw: As mentioned before, Mel just does her own thing, without caring about what others think. However, this is not only a good thing. Because she is so independant, she prefers to work alone and is rather incompetent at team work and cooperation.

I hardly think this is a good idea, Ali said, licking his paw.
"Be quiet," Alicia snapped. She was crouched under a thick rose bush. The sharp thorns dug into her skin and tore at her clothes, but she paid them no attention. She had heard the sound of hooves. The sound became louder and louder until it was deafening. Then, all of a sudden, a huge Rapidash came thundering into the clearing, carrying somebody--or something--on its back. Alicia heard the soft sound of cloth brushing against leather and knew instantly that she had been right to come here.
You don't know that for sure, Ali said. It might be one of ours.
As if, Alicia answered, using telepathy so as to not be heard. Trust me, I know all the Rapidash in the stables. And that bronco is not one of ours.
It can't be a bronco if it's trained, Ali reminded her. That makes no sense.
Whatever, Alicia muttered.

"Haven't you found her yet?" Rile asked, irritated.
"My apologies sir, but we are still unable to locate Alicia Griffin," the officer said nervously. He was obviously uncomfortable; he didn't want to be the one to break the news, especially to this particular person. But it had been an order from the lieutenant, so it couldn't be helped. "We have searched the entire base, including the underground tunnels, as well as the surrounding fields, forests, and--"
"Have you tried the river?" Rile interrupted.
The officer looked at him blankly. "Sir?"
"The river banks. Alicia goes there whenever she feels like being alone. Have you tried searching there yet?"
"W-Well, no," the man said awkwardly. "We didn't think--"
"Then what are you waiting for?" Rile snapped. "Hurry up and go!"
"Yes, sir!" the officer squeaked and stumbled away.
Rile sighed. The lower ranks were so incompetent. He sat down at his desk and wiped his forehead with the back of his hand. His Flareon poked her head out and offered him a handkerchief. "Thanks, Yuli," he said. Yuli purred as he gently stroked her head. "This is going to be tough.
