Edit: I was really bored tonight and really wanted to play this challenge but no one answered so I got my Boyfriend to pick my team.
He chose for me: Bug, Grass, Fire, Steel, Ground and Psychic

which means I end up with: Mothim, Chikorita, Arcanine, Lucario, Larvitar and Mr.Mime!
(I hope this is ok, I was just really bored and really wanted to play :) )

Finally an update. :) I'm normally one to think any team can be great, but this is honestly one of the worst team I have ever used. Hopefully it'll be better when Luvdisc is traded over (yes, I'm counting on a LUVDISC to be my saving grace). And if not then, then when I catch a Skarmory.

Okay, instead of cheating like crazy right away, I will cheat for one like before each gym with the exception of flareon. I'm still unsure what to do with scizor with the inability to trade on an emulator. If I do this I should put someone who may have a tough time getting there.
 
Apologies, but I think will have to be removed from the challenge. My computer crashes in some way or another every time I try to play. Which is really annoying and it pretty much makes me unable to continue. D:

It's not that we need a team... It's the challenge, for making it a bit random. Someone have to assign you types so you don't actually choose your team by yourself.

As someone already said, you don't choose your types yourself. I will allocate you some types now:

Steel, Ground, Psychic, Bug, Fighting, Water.

So you take your favourite Steel, your second favourite Ground, 3rd favourite Psychic and so on.

Update on my challenge, I've been grinding more than anything else since Houndour takes a lot of Exp to Level up,more than Eevee which takes more than all my four other pokemons which takes about the same. So I'm now in Floaroma, I am going to get the key to Valley Windworks soon enough. Here's my team:

Update:
-Started adventure, named myself Dillon and my Rival, Rival(Yes his name is Rival XP) traded all the pokemon that I needed over. Grinded the pokemon. beat second Rival battle. Grinded some more before going to beat Roark. Annihilated Roark using only Hewbert. Grinded Fluffy until he evolved.
