Episode 27: The Second Gym
Ash, Brock, Pikachu, and Daph arrived in the town that was the location of Ash's next gym battle. They entered the gym, and found out that the gym leader, Melanie, was a user of normal type pokemon. Daph, and Brock took their seats on the sidelines.

Jessie, James, and Meowth peeked through the window of the gym.

"The twerp has another gym battle..." muttered Jessie.

Ash already knew which pokemon he was going to use. He quickly sent out Rhyperior.

"Rhyperior!" roared Rhyperior.

Melanie sent out a Persian. It was going to be a one on one pokemon battle. Persian suddenly fired a Water Pulse attack. Rhyperior was hit, and took a lot of damage from the attack. Rhyperior fell to its knees.

"That Persians tough!" said Brock.
"Yeah..." agreed Daph.
"Pika!" said Pikachu.

Rhyperior fired a Rock Wrecker attack. Persian was hit. Being hit by the powerful attack caused Persian to crash into the wall of the gym. Persian collapsed on the ground in defeat. Ash had won the battle easily, and had earned the White Badge.

Episode 28: Dusk Challenges (Part 1)
Ash, Brock, Pikachu, and Daph were about to leave the gym, when Dusk showed up.

"Melanie, I challenge you to a gym battle!" said Dusk.
"Dusk? You're competing in gym battles as well as contests?" asked Ash.
"That's right." said Dusk.
"That means your both Ash's rival, and Daph's rival!" said Brock.
"Yeah!" said Daph.
"Pikachu." said Pikachu.

Jessie, James, and Meowth looked through the window of the gym.
"Looks like the rival twerp is a rival to both of the competing twerps..." said James.

"I accept your challenge!" said Melanie.
"This will be a three on three pokemon battle. Is that okay with you?" asked Dusk.
"Fine." said Melanie.

Ash, Brock, Pikachu, and Daph sat down on the sidelines so that they could watch the battle. The battle began, and Dusk sent out a Dusclops.

"Duskull evolved!" gasped Daph.

Melanie sent out her Persian. Persian fired a Thunderbolt attack at Dusclops. Dusclops quickly dodged the attack.

"Look at that speed!" Brock said in amazement.

Jessie, James, and Meowth continued to look through the window of the gym.

"The rival twerp has gotten a whole lot stronger!" said Meowth.

Dusclops charged up to Persian, and hit it with a Shadow Punch attack. Persian fell to side, and collapsed on the ground in defeat.

"Persian is unable to battle, the winner is Dusclops!" announced the judge.

Persian was put back into its poke ball. Melanie sent out a Wigglytuff. Wigglytuff used Shock Wave several times on Dusclops. Dusclops stumbled backwards, and then collapsed on the ground.

"Dusclops is unable to battle, which means that the winner is Wigglytuff!" announced the judge.

Episode 29: Dusk Challenges (Part 2)
Dusk put Dusclops back into its poke ball, and then sent out a Honchkrow.

"Murkrow evolved!" said Ash.

Honchkrow fired a Shadow Ball. The Shadow Ball attack hit Wigglytuff, knocking Wigglytuff backwards a little bit. Wigglytuff cried out in pain, obviously taking a good amount of damage from the Shadow Ball attack. Wigglytuff. used Shock Wave, which knocked Honchkrow out of the air. Honchkrow collapsed on the ground in defeat. Honchkrow was put back into its poke ball, and Dusk sent out a Haunter, which, as soon as it was out of it's poke ball, evolved into Gengar.

"Gengar!" growled Gengar.

Gengar used Shadow Ball, and hit Wigglytuff with the attack, and this Shadow Ball attack seemed to do more damage than Honchkrow's Shadow Ball had done. Wigglytuff fell forward, and collapsed on the ground in defeat. Wigglytuff was put back into its poke ball, and Melanie sent out a Miltank.

"A Miltank!" exclaimed Daph.
"Looks powerful." said Brock.

Jessie, James, and Meowth looked through the window of the gym.

"Looks like the twerp, and the gym leader are down to their last pokemon..." said Jessie.

In the end, Dusk defeated Melanie, and won the White Badge.
