Hey there. This makes our sixth year. Ya miss us?

Welcome, one and all, to PokéCommunity's eleventh Great Egg Swap!

How Does it Work?​

1. Breed ONE egg. It can be absolutely anything you like - the more unusual the better!

2. Register your name here. Use the registration form below to register you name and friendcode. It will appear in the scoreboard and you will be assigned a number. You cannot begin swapping until you've got a number.

3. Get swapping! Swap your egg with someone using the standard trade system, then swap that egg with someone else. Keep swapping with as many people as you can.

4. Report it. Once you have completed your swap, post here using the report form detailing who you swapped with.
1 swap = 1 point each.​

The swap will run from Friday 22nd to Monday 25th September.
A banner will be posted - do not start swapping until you see it!
The swap is open to all Generation VII games!

You can register all throughout the event, but bear in mind that the sooner you do it the sooner your name gets on the list!

And of course, after it has finished, be sure to post which Pokémon you got!

A Few Rules...​

1. Breed ONE egg for this event. Once you have traded that egg, you cannot breed another.

2. Do not switch the egg you receive with any other eggs you happen to have in your game.

3. You may only use one game for the event.

4. DO NOT LET THE EGG HATCH. Trade directly from a box to prevent this from happening.

5. Your swap points will only be counted when both users post to report the swap. If you're unsure on how it works, have a look through last time's thread.

6. Once you have swapped, you may not swap with the same person again until you have both swapped with another person. Try to swap with a variety of people.
7. Avoid trading in circles - it's just the same eggs going around and around. Try waiting for others to come online.

8. Do not deliberately exploit the system to boost your score - (through excluding players, trading pacts, etc.). Anyone caught doing this will be disqualified. If you suspect any player of being in a trading pact or are somehow cheating the system, you can PM the hosts anonymously.

9. NO HACKED EGGS. Do not create an egg that is not legitimately obtainable in the games (e.g. a Mew egg). Anyone caught doing so will be disqualified and referred to a moderator.

10. Do not deliberately refuse to trade with another player because they are in a different house to you. We're here to have fun, guys!​

Although may I make a suggestion? That way things can perhaps move along faster, do you think confirmations could perhaps be done by liking posts instead of quoting? I feel that is a much more swift way to handle that. Just my own $0.02!

So that way we could tell the difference. Ngl liking posts would make things easier. If the other person doesn't like the post it doesn't count so they both need to ensure they like their own trades to count.

While this would be quicker and would look neater, the main issue comes with scorekeeping - which is a bit of a nightmare as you might appreciate. ^^b We're quite a popular event and sometimes 10-15 pages are generated between EOs being online.

This is what a typical confirmation post looks like:

^ This enables us to easily keep score just by scrolling quickly through potentially pages of posts. We keep scrolling until as we see a quote (highlighted by a large box), and then both numbers are in that single post. We can then quickly increment the score according to the Player Number, which are easy to find as they are in numerical order.

Going to a Like system means we only have one Player No. per post, it's more difficult to catch confirmations during hectic times and we will have to constantly look up usernames instead of just using numbers.

not sure if this is known issue. if not, i recommend using imgur for image hosting instead of photobucket. ^^

That one wasn't me >_< After Air Pichu hatched a shiny Shinx one of the users created it for his hall of fame profile. Guess they were using Photobucket. I know that pain - the majority of my images used to be hosted by ImageShack, who have gone all paid-for now. Imgur is one of the last left.

Trust me, I know why you guys have it the way y'all do. :P It was just merely a suggestion, because I have participated in many of PC's egg swap events in the past myself and it was time-consuming to go back and forth from PC to my 3DS/DS just to confirm.

However, it's entirely up to you! :)

Hey guys! Where are we at in terms of Egg Swap Planning? Is it just about done? Get Together is right around the corner, so time is of the essence!

OK, all finished for the most part. There's a couple of minor changes but it's basically ready.

I thought it'd be neat to keep what would have been the emblems as "badges", just as a bit of fun ~ So if the winners want to display them somewhere, they can.
