The Gym Leader Challenge

    Ever thought of what it would be like to be
    in a gym leaders shoes?
    In this challenge, you have to pick
    one of the gym leaders pokemon in your generation.
    So basically, if you were to pick the game Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver,
    you'd pick one of gym leaders whole team.
    So if I picked bugsy,
    my team would be...
    Scyther, Metapod, and Kakuna.

    The ultimate challenge for this challenge would be
    choosing a gym leaders pokemon in every game.
    R/B/Y, G/S/C, R/S/E, D/P/P, B/W

    Rules:
    You can only pick ONE gym leaders pokemon.
    No picking multiple gym leaders pokemon.
    You can only pick one of the gym leaders in your game.
    So if you had Pokemon D/P/P, you'd
    have to pick out of
    Roark,
    Gardenia,
    Maylene,
    Crasher Wake,
    Fantina,
    Byron,
    Candice,
    And Volkner's
    Pokemon.
    You may not pick e4 pokemon.
    You must have the exact same pokemon the gym leader has,
    so you can not evolve pokemon if the gym leader
    doesn't have that pokemon evolved.
    You may hack, if you cannot catch one of the gym leaders pokemon
    you chose.
    Emulators are allowed.
    You may not catch legendaries.
    Okay. You can hack in your gym leaders strongest pokemon at start.
    So, since i chose pryce, i would hack in a lvl 5 swinub at the start of the game.

    Aaaand why do I have to be a Gym Leader in a certain game? Why can't I be Flannery in Sinnoh, or Gardenia in Unova? Also, do I have to use the Pokemon that the leader has during the first fight or the leaders final team in the last rematch?
     
    Okay, I started my Leafgreen part and I beat Sabrina.
    I, of course like most people(I think), beat Sabrina after Koga. I also had to hack in Oddish as my starter as he's only in Fire Red.

    Because, thats just the challenge is.
    You have to use the pokemon the gym leader used during the first fight.

    So, taking the one region rule into account, that means options are incredibly limited. All gym leaders only use 2-4 Pokemon. And the gym leaders only start using 3 Pokemon when you get to gym 4.

    I forgot all the Unova leaders only use up to a maximum of 3 Pokemon.

    So...
     
    Okay, I started SoulSilver, and I saved in my character's room right after beating the E4. I can't believe I got to the E4 First Round in about 4 hours. I had to hack in Mankey as my starter since he's only available in HG.

    Sounds like fun. Quick question though, would I be able to do this challenge with Black 2 and White 2, as well as with a Hack ROM?

    I don't see why not with B2W2, I don't know about hacks though.

    The rules say that you have to use the Pokemon that the Gym Leader uses in-game, and you also have to list what games you'll be playing, because leader's Pokemon in R/S are different from Emerald. Also, for example, if you do Koga's, your team will have to consist of Koffing, Koffing, Weezing, and Muk.

    You need to change the OP stating that you must use the team your gym leader has the first time you fight him.

    And its a right shame, I've done the original gym leader challenge 10 times, but wouldn't get credit for a single one here. :(
