5th Gen The hero becomes a villain

Believe me, I want this to happen but...

Since this is Pokemon it's super unlikely we'll get it, pokemon has always strongly encouraged a squeaky clean lifestyle and it's still aimed at kids.

So joining the evil team, even as a spy/undercover agent etc would probably be considered too "bad" for a pokemon game :<

Joining the evil team would be so fun though! AH.
Maybe they could create a team/organization that we THINK is good, and the player joins but you later realize you were tricked into helping them achieve their cliche evil goal lol.
Then you gotta set things right or something, I dunno...

It's just the "aimed at kids" thing, that's what hinders the storyline, I think :C

Which is why it either needs to be an option... or we get a Pokémon game aimed at a more mature audience for once! Either that or they release two versions of the game, one for the youngsters where they can live in candy land and one for us older sophisticated and refined gents people

It isn't going to happen, It is a kid's game. I like the idea, but it will not happen. Unless they make it E10+ or T. But that could be why the main characters are older in the game. But my question is. Why would Gym Leaders allow villians to challenge them?

Well why not? End of the day, challenge is a challenge. And if you were looking for an answer with more motivation, well how about they challenge them to try and stop them.

yes exactly the gym leader sees you and challenges you in an attempt to stop your plan but then if they do win what happens?

ut they're trying to get teens back into pokemon, so this would probally be the best way forward? :3

Then you go through the standard white out, except instead of going back to a Pokécenter you get rescued by a couple of grunts.

Unless you become a villian and stay as villian until you reach a major achievement, getting all badges, and beating E4 doesn't count, more like completeing the nation Dex, or 10 pokemon reach 100 etc; then a back story begins for you bbecome a hero again or not

I think it's a dumb idea for a few reasons:
The Villains are actually Villains. You just have the common sense not to do those things, because all it would do is bring suffering.

I find that wanting to be a villain describes a lot about one character, but I won't get into that part. Let's take a look at all the Team/Villains that have existed so far:

Team Rocket:
This is basically a mafia. Responsible for the world almost being destroyed.
(Pokemon Movie 1.) Generally, it is assumed that many people have died, because Team Rocket has so many specialized employees that we don't get to see them all.

Team Aqua & Magma:
Dearlord. This would be the dumbest team to join.
They wanted to make the world better. By giving it more water/land. This would kill everything. Not only were they a threat to everyones existence, but they didn't even know it.

Team Galactic:
This one at least KNEW what it was doing. Too bad the guy behind it wouldn't give a crap about you if you joined.

Team Cipher:
Seriously considering this team if you know what they do makes you a complete monster inside. To rank in this team, you must abuse a Pokemon until it internalizes and shuts down cognitively, reducing it to only instincts. An emotionally frozen battle machine. Your rank is determined by the number of Pokemon you've done this to.

...so uh...
Given those choices, it makes sense to me as to why you(in the games) never consider joining them.

Actually Team Magma and Aqua were Eco terrorist they wanted to improve the enviorment for land and water pokemon respectively but ended up destroying it in the process, so they weren't very stupid...their plan didn't calculate that the legendary pokemon were going to rebel and do what they did...
But yeah they all failed miserably...team rocket was a waste of time in the game...they just wanted money then they wanted their boss to hold their hand...yeah the worst team ever!

come on !!!!!!!! team magma and aqua were the worst teams out there. they are extremely stupid. i mean think about it. maxie wanted to expand land. two down sides to this. most of our water kapooooooosh. gone and water pkemon have no place to live. and there are no uppsides. humans in the hoenn region had enough places to live there were still so many uninhabitted places. and he was willing to blow up a volcano to do so. couldn's he see that he could have killed everyone in lavaridge town.

how about team aqua. they wanted to give water pokemon more places to live. isn't it bad enough that half of hoenn is water routes and lakes and waterfalls. WHY MORE !!!!! and they coul have flooded sootopolis, mosdeep, lilycove, pacifilog, evergrande, slateport, mauville, and dewford and probably killed everyone there. GOD!!! what is wrong with them. and that would have seriously gave humans less places to live. oh and did i mention that hoenn is popular only for the battle fronteir and hoenn league which would have also been flooded making hoenn lose its importance.

AND they were both ready to do what they had in mind by awakening the most dangerous pokemon ever.

THEY are the most stupid people in existance.
Team galactic were the weakist of villains and wanted to to take over the world. come on. any gym leader could have defeated the. and how could cyrus have done so much research and miss giratina. i meen cynthia didn't study or look for anything. so how could she known about giratina while cyrus didn't.
STUPID

and we all agree that team rocket weren't just weak. they were miscalculating and stupid and ..... a very long list of bad traits.

All villains so far have been so weak. i hope the new team plasma is a little stronger than the previous team. and from what i know they aren't evil. they like pokemon and seeing how people treat pokemon as pets trigerred their anger. and they have a very good point. i agree with them. for the first time a lot of people could agree with the villains. i don't know how i'm gonna feel when i'm defeating them in black and white.
