There are 12 episodes only? And the OVA is the 13th? :O That sucks.

This is what will happen: not a real spoiler, btw.

In the last episode, the missiles that have been launched will destroy most of the zombies and all the characters will be hiding underground. They will show us a sign saying "4 months later" or whatnot, and all of them survived. In the ending, they will show only one surviving zombie! And it will all begin again. This is to a second season!

Or maybe all of them will die and this way, an ending is really ensured.

Most probably there will be a second season. Seeing as the manga is still going on past that. I think. o.o

In episode 11, when Saeko told Rei not to call her Miss again or something and Saeko said, "You know we are..", why did Rei have a scary look and said "Don't bring that up" or whatever? I mean if Saeko wanted to say they are friends, why did Rei seemed 'mad' or the such?
In the Japanese version, Rei calls Saeko "Senpai", wich means Saeko is in a higher grade/older than she is.
And as explained in the same episode, the Sensei-guy (don't ask) made Rei repeat a class.

The thing is, though not explained properly, that Rei and Saeko are actually in the same grade, but Rei was forced to repeat. So Saeko shouldn't really be Rei's Senpai if it weren't for the teacher. Hope this explains it.

Last ep of season one was a very good episode. Back to the action filled HOTD of the first 6 - 7 episodes. Saya's parents are badass and the mechanic was funny.

The T.S. Eliot quote at the end was a nice touch.

To me it looks as if a second season is pretty much a sure thing now, the OVA would be a kicker into it. Leaving with the mission of finding Takashi's family is good.

Overall rating for the series 8/10, it was tailing off but this ep pulled it back.

I guess we can say that there is no way the Zombie problem is gonna get solved :P
They just survive, which somehow is a bit boring, but I guess it's a relief not having to see an absolute ending.

Also, the fan service has been toned down a lot. I prefer it this way. :3

...Though I'm guessing they changed the story a lot from the manga...

why are you joining?: HSOTD is a really good anime

Just caught up on the manga and wow it's really getting good.

SPOILERS Possibly up to chapter 27.

Spoiler:

Bring on chapter 28 and the OVA/Season 2.

I don't think I'm motivated enough to read the manga, I'll wait to see the OVA and 2nd season (if there is one) first.

I never wanted to watch the anime until yesterday, but seeing the very positive reviews and the 'trolled' rating system on MAL, I had to try it. Surprisingly enough, it manages to follow the manga, which I read months before, pretty well; though bits from here and there were missing, but nothing that major to disrupt the storyline.

So, seeing as I like this anime/manga, I want to join here. XD I am Surigamaru, call me Zach.

Yeah, I finished watching the anime and still following the manga. I didn't feel the ending was really justified; in other words, we need a second season, badly. Oh, and maybe with a little less fanservice on the way.

I don't really mind the fs, but the ending makes it seem like there will be a second season.

Update - High School of the Dead Chapter 28 will be out by November 8, 2010. What that means to those of us who read it in English i don't know but wow there has been a long wait for this chapter.

why are you joining?: Because HSOTD was awesome, man. Though the fan service... Eh... x__x Especially episode 8, I think it is, where the bullets are flying in between everything.

Thanks. c: + I was veeeeery disturbed. xD I really hope they bring out a second series though.

I'm usually a big fan of fanservice, but in HOTD they really overdid it, IMO.

But they removed it in the last episodes, yay :D
The fanservice didn't really bother me like I thought it would, I mean it wasn't that much of a show ruiner. :3
