Oh sam watch this 8D
clicky
Ooooohhhh... *pokes* Shiny. *o* XD
So... I believe you wanted me to tell you about mah mage story? Very well then.
Oh, and before I start to tell teh story... (XD) There's a few things you need to know.
1. There are eight elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Nature, Wind, Ice, Mind, and Thunder.
2. There are two allignments, light and dark, duh. XD
3. Every Mage has a primary element that they use. Like... Vulcan's is Fire, Kotarin's is Thunder, ect. You are born with an element, you don't have control over which one you have, and you can't change it, either. (you can use other elements, but your primary element comes easier)
4. Every Mage has a partner Mythical Creature. They are as follows: Kitsune, Phoenix, Dragon, Imperial Dragon, Unicorn, Pegasus, Fenrir, Wyvern, Sea Dragon, Kirin, Gryphon, Hippogriff, Roc, and (I forgot what it's called, but it's a big cat thingy).
5. There is a king of each creature, a Master. They are extremely powerful and legendary, and... yeah.
6. Each Master has a corresponding Mage, a Mage that has part of the Master's soul inside of him/her. The Mage's soul is the key to controlling the Master Creatures.
7. At the school of elements, three students are assigned to one Master Mage, who will teach and train them.
8. There are strange abilities that are limited to certain family lines (such as Obsidion, which is only of the Fire line, and Opal-eye, which is only of an ancient elven line.)
9. Within everything is an essence called "Aura". It gives a Mage his/her power, and if you run out in a battle, you can't use techniques and magic. To regain it, you must simply rest (but it's faster if you meditate).
10. There are a few different races. Human, Seraphim, Split-soul, Werewolf, Elven, and Merfolk. Merfolk aren't seen that often, obviously, and they are secretive and shy. They can come on land and gain legs, but they must return to the water at least once every three days or they will die.
Wait, here are the ages of the main characters:
Kotarin: 12
Vulcan: 12
Brooklyn: 12
Master Aiolos: 39
Yes, that is all. Now, onto the story...
The story's about a young boy named Kotarin. When he was only one year old, his parents were killed by a kitsune, the Master Kitsune (but he was under control by an evil mage called Ignious, so it wasn't his fault). The Kitsune turned on the infant Kotarin, but was calmed as he gazed into the eyes of his Master. (Kotarin is the true Guardian of the Master Kitsune, go figure) Kotarin named him Kyuron, and became his partner.
Kotarin and Kyuron were respected, yes, but feared, feared because of Kyuron's great power. Kotarin becomes a bit of a jokester, if anything went wrong or anyone was pranked, Kotarin was usually behind it.
But finally, Kotarin achieves one of his goals: He is accepted into the school of magic in the village, Nightshade. However... an exam must be taken to be taken on.
Kotarin freaks out, because he can't remember anything out of anxiety when it comes to written assignments. He goes to the school's library to study, though he knows it won't do any good.
In the library, he meets a girl with long, brown hair and bright green eyes. She smiles at him, and asks why he's here. He says he's here to study, and the girl says she is too, and maybe they could study together. She introduces herself as Brooklyn, and her Myth Partner is a Pegasus called StarGraze.
They study for a while, and Kotarin finally slams his book shut out of exasperation, and declares that it's too difficult.
"Well, I'd expect as much from an idiot like you." says a snide voice from above them.
They both look up, and a boy with short, spiked black hair is sitting on the bookshelf as if he owns the place.
"What'd you say?" Kotarin fumes.
"Must I repeat myself? I said I'd expect as much from an idiot like you."
"Is that a challenge?"
"Pfft. It'd do no good to fight me, I know magic already, and I know some pretty powerful attacks." he breathes a spark of fire into the air, and jumps down from the bookshelf. "My name is Vulcan. Vulcan of the Fire Line. Remember it. Heh, as if I could drive anything into that thick skull of yours."
Kotarin is angry, of course. He turns to Brooklyn... "Come on, Brooklyn, back me up here!"
But Brooklyn is staring at Vulcan with a wide-eyed and adoring expression.
"Oh... my... gosh... it's... Vulcan..." she whispers.
"You know him?" Kotarin asks.
"Of course! Every girl in this school knows Vulcan!"
Vulcan ignores her. "And what's your name?"
"I- I'm Brooklyn..." Brooklyn stammers.
"Not you, loser-boy over here."
Kotarin glares. "My name is Kotarin! And don't you forget it!"
Vulcan shoves him backward. "Sure, whatever. I'll always know you as loser."
The librarian comes over and says "really! I won't tolerate this behavior in the library!" she glares at Kotarin.
Kotarin is really pissed off now. "He started it!"
"I don't want to hear it!" snaps the librarian. She walks back to her desk.
"Hm. Anyway, loser, I doubt you'll be accepted into this school, with intellect like yours. Pfft."
Kotarin says "Well, maybe you're right. What should I do, then, smart one?" he asks sarcastically.
Vulcan smiles. "Cheat."
Kotarin stares. "Cheat?"
"You heard me, moron. Cheat. See, these tests... they aren't testing what you know. They're testing our stealth, the point of this is to avoid the attention of the teachers and the person you're copying from." he starts to leave. "Think about it. See you around, loser."
And he leaves Kotarin, fuming, and Brooklyn staring after him.
In testing, Kotarin sees Vulcan cheat. But he only glances for a split second, and his crimson eyes momentarily flash when he does. He seems to take all the information in by just looking once, and he only glances at Brooklyn's paper a few times.
Kotarin cheats also, but he is caught. He is put in a seperate room to take the test over. He flunks.
The Headmaster of the school, though, is nice enough to accept him anyway.
Kotarin eagerly awaits the letter that will inform him of who he will be working with and who his master would be.
He gets the letter, and opens it.
"Oh, Master Aiolos. I heard he's good." he reads a bit further.
"Hey, I'm teamed with Brooklyn!"
But the last name on the list makes him glare and tense up. "Oh, no! Not that Vulcan kid!"
The first day of term. Kotarin enters, and as soon as he and Vulcan see eachother, they both yell and point at eachother.
"YOU!"
"YOU!"
They both get right in eachother's faces, and start yelling at eachother.
Vulcan's eyes flash crimson, and they begin to glow.
"Heheheh... this is the abillity "Obsidion". Exclusive to the Line of Fire."
And he darts forward with amazing speed, and slams Kotarin into the wall.
Some of the onlookers gasp, and the girls freak out.
"Ouuu, go Vulcan!"
Kotarin gets up, seething. "Go ahead, try that again!"
"Wait!" Brooklyn steps forward, and looks directly at Vulcan. "Can't you two settle this without fighting? You should just go see the Headmistress about this, she'll be able to sort it out, she, after all, is in charge of the team placement."
Vulcan rolls his eyes, but agrees.
Kotarin and Vulcan enter the Headmistress's office. She looks up as they enter.
"Yes?" her voice is sharp, and she is clearly annoyed at them for interrupting her paperwork.
They tell her about their conflict and their team placement. The outcome is not good.
"I HAVE NEVER, IN ALL MY YEARS, HAD A STUDENT COME TO COMPLAIN TO ME ABOUT TEAM PLACEMENT! OUT! BOTH OF YOU!"
They both exit rather quickly.
"Well, then, looks like I'm stuck with you." says Vulcan. "Just do what I tell you, and don't get in my way."
It turns out Master Aiolos is a very wise teacher, but he's also a bit... laid back. He has an Imperial Dragon named Hisathor.
He trains them well. Eventually, Vulcan and Kotarin get to a point where they are no longer trying to kill eachother. They become somewhat... friends.
On one of their days off, they sit and talk to eachother for a while.
"I hear your parents were killed by that kitsune of yours." says Vulcan.
"Yes, but it wasn't his fault! He was being controlled!"
Vulcan nods. "So, is Kyuron really the Master Kitsune?"
"Yes."
"Hm, interesting... you must miss your parents a whole lot."
"Not really. I don't remember them. What about you, where are your parents?"
Vulcan tenses up. "They're dead."
"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. What about grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles?"
Vulcan clenches his fists. "No. They're dead too."
Kotarin gasps. "What... what happened?"
"...My cousin, Infernis. He... he turned against us..."
(flashback)
A tall, dark mage with long, black hair with red streaks is standing before the ruins of a city. Fire is everywhere.
He leaps into action, fighting each of the city's residents, and killing them one by one.
"NO!" screams a voice.
The dark mage turns. Vulcan, much younger then, is standing to the left of him, looking appaled and horrified. "What are you doing?! Why... why are you doing this?!"
Infernis just smiles. "It'd be hard for you to understand, cousin. ...they were worthess, every single one of them. And I thought it would be interesting to see my Stellar Obsidion's power."
Vulcan gasps. "You... you have Stellar Obsidion?"
Infernis chuckles. "Stellar Obsidion, Shadow Moon!"
Everything goes dark. Vulcan watches in horror as he relives the scene of his family's murder.
"NOOOOOO!" he screams, clutching his head in agony.
Suddenly, everything comes back into focus.
Vulcan pulls out his sword. "I... I should... I should kill you."
Infernis smiles. "Yes. Train yourself, Vulcan, become the Mage you promised to be. Seek only to destroy me, and let your hate burn strong... only then will you be able to face me. When you have become strong... seek me out. I will be waiting..." and he pulls out his sword. "Run, Vulcan..."
Vulcan turns, and flees.
(end flashback)
"I swear... when I find that *expletive*... I... well, not a day has gone by without me thinking of my revenge."
Kotarin cocks his head to one side. "But... how do you even know if he's still alive?"
"He's out there all right. And when I find him... I'm going to kill him."
Phew... that's all I'm typing for now. O_O
