I'm sorry but SU's are closed if it wasn't this late into the RP I would possibly let you slide.

Sahib paused, looking at Lance. He thought about it for a moment, and then made up his mind. Sahib walked up to the man. He was simply sitting in a chair, a ways away from the others. Sahib approached the famed Dragon Master. Lance glanced up, eyeing Sahib silently. He nodded towards a chair across from him. Sahib sat down. Lance waited, so Sahib figured that it was probably a good idea for him to start talking.

"I'm—"

"Sabir's son, I know," the man said, squinting slightly. "You look just like him. Hair and everything."

Sahib's lips twitched slightly. "I have a question for you."

"Shoot, kid," Lance said.

"Someday when I get better," Sahib began. "Do you…do you think you could give me a battle?"

Lance's chuckle was dry. "If you want a battle, you've got it. You just might want to hurry up with getting stronger," he said. "If you're anything like your father," Lance began, "then you might want to train up a bit. But don't wait too much longer, I am getting older."

Sahib licked his lips, unsure of what to say. "When did you battle my father?" Sahib questioned.

"When he was in the Underground. A place in Mahogany Town…disguised as a shop. He was one of the scientists there, if memory serves correct." Sahib frowned, not quite understanding. Lance blinked. "You do know, don't you? Your father was a member of Team Rocket." Sahib's eyes popped open wider, and his jaw dropped. What? Sahib thought wildly. But dad denied it. He said that…Sahib's thought process shut down. He had no idea what to think at the moment. There was a frown on Lance's face. He obviously realized that he had said the wrong thing. "I'm guessing that you didn't know," Lance murmured.

"I…no, no I didn't," Sahib murmured, biting his lip and staring at the ground. "Thanks for your time," Sahib declared, standing up abruptly. Lance watched in silence as Sahib walked away.

Great, Sahib thought bitterly. Now I'm the son of a Team Rocket member, he thought. Sahib let out a breath and wiped his hand across his forehead. Well, no one'll ever know that, Sahib decided as he walked to the front desk of the Pokémon Center. Sahib retrieved a key from Nurse Joy to his room. He had her heal his Pokémon, and now Sahib was lying in his bed in his stay over room. He was staring up at the ceiling. Quilava was sitting on his chest, simply staring at his trainer. Wartortle was leaning against Sahib's leg, eyes firmly shut. Aerodactyl (Sahib asked for a slightly bigger room) was lying on the floor, snoozing away. Growlithe was curled up against Sahib's side. Flaffy was lying on top of Aerodactyl's back, head resting on the large spike.

What did I get myself into? Sahib wondered silently to himself. He stroked Quilava's coarse fur and stared off at the ceiling. Quilava shifted slightly, curling and closing its eyes. Sahib smiled slightly at his Pokémon. Damn, I forgot to put Flaffy and Growlithe in the PC, Sahib thought. Then his smile turned to a frown. Did dad…hurt…Pokémon? Was Sahib's last thought before he drifted off to sleep.

Later on, Sahib was woken by a loud booming sound. He sat up so abruptly that Quilava fell off his chest. His Pokémon were instantly alert and awake when the ground finally stopped shaking. Sahib quickly recalled them all, grabbed his stuff (he was thankful he hadn't unpacked anything yet), and then ran out of his room. He saw fire coming from one side of the Pokémon Center. The flames soon cut off his path. Sahib brought out Wartortle. Wartortle knew what it had to do, and immediately shot a burst of water at the flames blocking Sahib's path. Sahib ran though, Wartortle following him quickly. Sahib then recalled his Wartortle and made his way outside. There, of course, were a bunch of men cloaked in white just outside the Pokémon Center. One approached Sahib. Time for a battle, huh? Sahib thought, grabbing Aerodactyl's Pokeball.

In two flashes of light, two Pokémon appeared ready for battle. One was something Sahib recognized as an Umbreon. The other was Sahib's own Aerodactyl. Sahib quickly checked his Pokedex. Alright, Aerodactyl shouldn't have much of a problem with this one! Sahib thought, glancing up at them.

"Umbreon, use tail whip on that pathetic excuse for a fossil," the man said.

"Heh…the only pathetic one I see here is you," Sahib said. "Aerodactyl, use ancient power!"

Aerodactyl screeched and the ground began to shake. Boulders formed and then zoomed towards Umbreon. Umbreon leaped past them all, making Sahib notice that it was rather quick on its feet. Umbreon finally reached Aerodactyl and used tail whip. Then, seconds later, a boulder slammed into Umbreon. Umbreon got knocked back several paces, but leaped back to its feet. It was raring to keep battling, it appeared.

"Hah…it'll take more than a puny attack like that. Umbreon use quick attack," the man commanded.

"I wasn't really trying to hurt Umbreon," Sahib declared. "More or less test it. Aerodactyl, when it gets close enough use thunder fang!" Sahib called.

By this time, Umbreon was basically right on Aerodactyl. The man clenched his teeth and cursed, knowing it was too late to call Umbreon back and away from Aerodactyl's attack. Soon Aerodactyl's jaws were full of electricity, and when Umbreon slammed into Aerodactyl it clamped down on one of the Pokémon's ears. The Pokémon howled in pain, thrashing about in a slightly sad attempt to get free. Aerodactyl clamped down harder, intent on not letting go of Umbreon, or so it seemed. Umbreon then growled, and thrashed around harshly, still struggling hard as ever to break free. Aerodactyl let go, but then slammed his wings into Umbreon in a rather effectively close-range wing attack. Umbreon skidded backwards, kicking up a stream of dust as it went.

"Umbreon, stop playing with that thing! Finish it with another quick attack!" the man called, obviously getting peeved by his Umbreon's loosing.

"Aerodactyl, finish it off!" Sahib called. "Use bite!"

Aerodactyl screeched and flew towards Umbreon with fairly impressive speeds. It slammed into the Pokémon, snapping its jaws down on the Pokémon's back. Sahib licked his lips as the Umbreon struggled. He could almost hear his heart beating in his chest as Aerodactyl clamped down further. The Umbreon let out a shriek of pain that was almost to unimaginable octaves. The blood pounded in Sahib's ears, yet still he didn't call off the attack. There was a sudden crunching sound. Sahib's eyes went wide. The Umbreon went limp. It was either paralyzed or dead. Which, Sahib didn't know. He called Aerodactyl back. That's when the Pokémon began to cry in a blood-curdling shriek. The man snarled and recalled his Pokémon.

I just let Aerodactyl do it, Sahib thought, eyes still wide with something of half terror in his expression. He recalled Aerodactyl. The man brought out a Loudred. Sahib felt like he was going to be sick. He tossed Wartortle's Pokeball. It appeared ready to fight, but Sahib was still left staring and stunned. No…nonononononoNO! Sahib thought repeatedly, snapping his eyes shut and clenching his teeth. While he was doing this, Wartortle was dodging the numerous attacks Loudred was already throwing at it. Sahib felt anger bubble and finally spill over.

"Don't you care?!" he shouted to the man. "DON'T YOU EVEN CARE YOUR POKÉMON MIGHT DIE?!" Sahib shouted to him, not caring who heard. The man took a slight step back. "Wartortle, use rapid spin!" Sahib shouted.

"You're the one who did it, kid," the man stated plainly. "Loudred, use howl. Follow with a bite. Why don't you break that thing's shell," the man growled.

Wartortle slipped into its shell, but not without a backwards glance at Sahib. Wartortle careened towards Loudred quickly. Loudred howled, and then Wartortle hit. As Wartortle hit, Loudred snapped its gigantic jaws down on the Pokémon's body, almost practically fitting the entire Pokémon in his mouth. Sahib's fists clenched as he watched his Pokémon's attempt to break free. There was a sudden splashing noise, and then Wartortle was being propelled away from Loudred. Wartortle smacked into Sahib's face, knocking them both backwards. Sahib clutched his bleeding nose and stared at his Wartortle.

I did it, Sahib thought. He was having issues. Learning about his father's past, or at least part of it, had shaken him. Now, he was so afraid of becoming like his father he was doing it unintentionally. Wartortle's smack in the face made him realize that. It made his nerves suddenly disappear. The logic he had turned off back inside the meeting room…he turned it back on and began to think. He realized that he wasn't going to be like that. And now more than ever was the time to start. Sahib stood up, and Wartortle followed the suit, standing at his trainer's side.

"Wartortle, let's do this the right way," Sahib said softly. "Hit it with water gun, follow up with a rapid spin."

Wartortle nodded quickly and shot a stream of water to the Loudred. Loudred snorted and then unleashed a high-pitched sound from its mouth. It was using supersonic. Wartortle suddenly began to spray water everywhere. Sahib ducked, avoiding the stream as it came about while Wartortle teetered around. C'mon Wartortle, Sahib thought, you've gotta snap out of it!

"Heh…let's end this, Loudred. Use pound on that pathetic excuse of a Wartortle," the man said. Sahib noticed there was a lack of something in his voice that had been there before.

"Wartortle, snap out of it!" Sahib cried desperately.

Wartortle kept tottering on. Loudred stomped up to Wartortle, smirking. It slammed its fist into the Pokémon. Sahib thought it looked more like a punch than a pound attack, but didn't comment. Wartortle got knocked backwards, hitting some bushes and just lying there. Sahib licked his lips and recalled Wartortle. He already knew his next choice before his hand touched the familiar Pokeball.

"Let's finish this, Quilava!" Sahib called as he summoned his next Pokémon.

Quilava appeared in a flash of bright light. The flames on his back sprang to life. Sahib noticed they almost seemed larger than a few battles ago, but soon dismissed the thought. We need to focus, Sahib decided.

"Loudred use another howl. Then supersonic," the man said.

"Quilava, let's finish this before it can unleash that supersonic," Sahib said. "Wartortle already got it mostly beaten for you! Use your new swift attack!" Sahib called.

Quilava nodded and shot a stream of star-like figures out of its mouth. They slammed into the Loudred. It howled, attack power raising once more. Sahib licked his parched lips. Quilava continued with the swift, until Sahib told it to stop. Loudred opened its mouth once more, but before it could unleash the supersonic Sahib ordered a flame wheel. Quilava burst into fire, and charged at Loudred in a flash. It slammed into the Pokémon, knocking it back. The Loudred roared and bit down on Quilava's ear—the only thing it could reach. Quilava cried out and shot a stream of stars at Loudred. They were so close range that the Pokémon didn't have a chance. It fell to the ground, completely exhausted.

"Humph…" the man said, recalling his Pokémon. "Now you're gonna meet your worst nightmare. Let's go, Gliscor!" he called, tossing his next Pokémon's ball.

Sahib looked at the rather creepy looking Pokémon with a wrinkled nose. This thing looks strong, Sahib observed. He thought it looked just as strong as it did creepy. Shaking his head of the thoughts, Sahib ordered for a flame wheel. He was wasting no time with this battle.

"Gliscor use screech," the man said. "Follow with faint attack. We need this match to end quickly."

Gliscor let out a rather loud shrieking sound. Quilava stopped in his tracks. The flames around his body disappeared as his defense was dropped for a few moments. Gliscor took the opportunity. It disappeared, and then reappeared right behind Quilava. The large Pokémon slammed one of its clawed wings into Quilava. Quilava cried out as it got knocked backwards. He leaped back around, growling at the Gliscor. It floated away. Quilava then burst into fire once more, and began to charge at the flying Pokémon. Quilava leaped, and slammed into the heavy bat. They both tumbled to the ground. Just as they hit, Gliscor slashed Quilava with a fury cutter attack. Quilava cried out and leaped away from the Gliscor as quick as it could manage.

"Quilava, let's finish it off! Use thunder punch!" Sahib called, knowing that it would get the flying type good.

Gliscor just keep using fury cutter," the man stated calmly. He didn't seem at all concerned about the thunder punch. That unnerved Sahib slightly, but he said nothing.

Quilava charged at Gliscor with an electric powered fist. Gliscor slipped down towards Quilava in a quick glide, and slashed the Pokémon with another fury cutter attack. Sahib smirked. Quilava slammed its fist into Gliscor, but the Pokémon did nothing. It simply slashed Quilava again with fury cutter. Quilava cried out and moved away as quickly as possible. Sahib blinked, what? He brought out his Pokedex once more. It's part ground?! Sahib thought wildly. He glanced back up at the Gliscor quickly. The Pokémon, along with his trainer, appeared to be smirking.

"Didn't you know that, little boy?" the man questioned. He chuckled darkly. "Gliscor use fury cutter more. Just keep it up."

"Quilava, use swift. When that thing gets close to you, knock it back with flame wheel!" Sahib called.

So Plan A hadn't worked. Sahib didn't know that Gliscor was part ground, which was why it failed. It was also the reason that Sahib reverted to Plan B. Just tough it out with a good strategy. He was going to have Quilava keep Gliscor at bay as long as possible. This would also weaken the Pokémon. To Sahib, it seemed like a perfectly good strategy.

This went on for a few minutes. Whenever Gliscor would get close, Quilava would slam it with a nice flame wheel. Eventually, both Pokémon were growing weary and tired. Gliscor flew in one last time, but the cloaked man noticed something. He told Gliscor to retreat, but it was too late. Quilava leaped up and slammed into the Pokémon with burning fur. Gliscor fell to the ground with a thud, completely knocked out. The man recalled his Pokémon, and then abruptly vanished.

Sahib let out a shaky breath. He glanced at the others. When Sahib saw Lili wasn't there, he found a slight feeling of sadness well up in him. Sahib then pushed that feeling aside. Everyone was there…except for them and Shaun. Sahib was too tired and slightly hurt. He didn't feel like thinking. So he watched as the Heroes saved what was left of the Pokémon Center. With a blank face, he watched as Grecko approached.

"It seems there has been an attempt on our lives tonight. We must work quicker to figure this out…come now, we have been invited to stay at Bill's house for the remainder of the night. In the morning you will continue your mission and training." He turned. They followed him down the road a few blocks. Quilava stuck rather close to Sahib, concerned for his trainer. Once they arrived, Sahib noticed another old man. He was in his pajamas.

"Welcome, Clan of Hope. Please follow me. I am Bill the PC inventor. I'm glad to have you staying with me for the night!" he said enthusiastically as he lead them each to a separate room.

When Sahib entered, he collapsed on the bed. Quilava leaped up next to him. Sahib curled into a ball, buried his face in Quilava's tough fur, and fell asleep. It might've been uncomfortable for many, but then it was the only form of comfort Sahib had.

Fenris: Wow sweet post! Quilava grew to lvl 33! Aerodactyl grew to lvl 29! Wartortle grew to lvl 29! Wartortle wants to learn water pulse delete a move to make room?

Upon setting foot on the cemented path leading into Goldenrod, Lucas let out a sigh, he was just about to the gym leader. Heh, the cloaked guy won't get to the gym leader before me after all, Lucas thinks, before looking down to Krad. He was quite tired looking. Man, Krad is tired from all those battles in the forest, and now that I think about it, so am I! I'm not used to those kinda things happening to me, I'm just a normal guy, going on a normal adventure. Hm, sounds like the beginnings of a great story, like an anime! But this is hardly an anime, this is life, and that guy seems to have no regard for it! If I see him again…I'd better be prepared, that pokemon of his looked really strong…Lucas stopped walking, and closed his eyes. All this is just too confusing, "Dex Holders"? I don't understand one bit of what that guy was trying to say, I want answers…Lucas opened his eyes, and grinned. Walking a few yards ahead of him was a few pokemon rangers, and from the looks of things; trainers. Deciding that this gathering was just a bit odd, Lucas decided to trail them, although behind buildings, to remain hidden from their sights.

Jogging lightly, with Krad at his side, Lucas could see in between the many buildings ever so rarely the group of people walking towards, from what Lucas could tell, a Pokemon Center.

"Krad…don't lose sight of them, they might be able to give us some…answers!", Lucas said between breathes. Krad just said his name a couple of times, and said nothing more. "Yeah, I know you're trying to …keep sight of them", Lucas said with a quick grin. Then, from the corner of his eye, Lucas noticed something. There was an old man in a white lab coat kneeling down on the ground, picking up papers from the sidewalk. "Krad, let's go help that guy, he could use it, it looks like", Lucas and Krad jogged to the kneeled down old man, and quickly and neatly gathered together his papers, presenting them to him once they had all been gathered.

"Why, thank you, young man. This is quite the Grovyle you have, he looks intelligent and well cared for!", the man says to Lucas, before redirecting his attention to Krad, who looked off in the distance with an annoyed look, likely due to the fact the man had begun rambling on about Grovyle's, and their various traits. This guy is weird…Maybe Krad and I should make ourselves scarce soon…Wait a minute! Those papers, they had information on tons of different pokemon, and with this guy rambling on about Grovyle's, it should be safe to assume he's Professor Elm! Lucas dropped his jaw temporarily, before quickly shutting it once noting the old man had begun looking him over.

"My gosh, sonny, what happened to you?", he said, upon noticing the several slashes in Lucas's clothing and scratch marks on Krad, courtesy of the cloaked guys. Ehh, should I trust him? I mean, sure. He may be the leading pokemon expert in the world, but does that really give me a reason to trust him?…Oh wait, he probably knows something about these "Dex Holders" that the cloaked guy mentioned, I guess I'll tell him, he could help after all…

"Well, you see, me and Krad; that's my Grovyle here, were taking a breather in Azalea Town. Then, we happened to see some cloaked guys dragging off a guy. I didn't recognize him at first, but I found out that it was Bugsy, the gym leader of Azalea? Anyways, I decided to follow them, seeing as no one else in town would, and besides. I still needed my Hive Badge from him, so into the forest I went. Then once I battled my way through several, several, ghosts, I found Bugsy lying in front of a shrine or alter, or something else, with this guy, cloaked in black near him. He talked to me a bit, then offered me to join his "side" or something. I quickly said no, then he called two guys cloaked in white out. I battled them, owned them, then was about to attack the black cloaked guy, when he called a pokemon I hadn't seen before out. It looked really strong…Anyways, as it was about to attack me and Krad, there was this flash of light. And the next thing I knew, I was outside the forest, only a short ways from here. And that is the story, as I know it", Lucas told the professor, taking in a few deep breathes after finishing. Well…? The older man looked at Lucas, then turning his attention to Krad. This continued for a few more moments until Lucas cleared his throat, attempting to get Elm's attention. His attention snaps back to Lucas, and then he looks up, and he looks down. Then, smiling, he reaches into his coat pocket, and pulls back out; a small reddish device. Is that…a Pokedex?

"Well, I had a spare one, and it would only seem right, since you are caught in this mess as well", Elm said professionally. I'm also, caught in this mess? My guess was right, then. He does know what's going on, and these Dex Holders are definitely affiliated with this guy, Lucas grinned as he accepted the Pokedex.

"Thanks for the Pokedex, Professor. Would you mind telling me what's going on now? I really am confused about this whole mess I somehow got dragged into…", Lucas grinned as he scratched his head.

"Hm, follow me to the Pokemon Center. There, I will introduce you to the others, and then everything will be explained!", he says as he turns and sprints off in the direction of what Lucas assumed was the Pokemon Center. Moments later, several screams could be heard, causing Lucas, Krad, and Elm to stop their previous actions to see the problem. As it turned out, there were several problems. Several, angry, problems. Tauros, a pokemon Lucas had seen very often on the outskirts of Olivine. Just perfect, these pokemon are always looking for something to do, either fight or run, it's never something quiet with them! One Tauros, a large and imposing brute of a pokemon, caught Lucas's eye, and broke free from the herd of rampaging Tauros, it's three tails whipping madly against it's backside.

"Argh, why do these things keep happening to me?! Lavitz, I want you out here!", Lucas yelled, annoyed at the turn of events. The Pidgeotto shot out of his pokeball in a burst of golden glory. Professor Elm stared at the golden bird for several seconds before remembering that he was in the middle of a danger zone, running in strange patterns before finally deciding on the safety of a rather large delivery truck.

"Lucas! Use your Pokedex! It can help you find Tauros's weak points!", Elm shouted. Lucas gasped, having completely forgotten about the Pokedex's ability to provide information on any given pokemon. Whipping out the Pokedex, Lucas scanned the angry Tauros.

Tauros-The Wild Bull Pokemon

After Heightening it's will to fight by whipping itself with it's three tails, it charges at full speed.

Level 26-Male

Payback, Rest

Pursuit, Horn Attack

"So, by whipping itself with it's tails, it raises it's will to fight…Hmm, and with that Rest ability, I just might have a plan! Lavitz, use Twister!", Lucas called, half distracted by the information the Pokedex provided. Lavitz carried out the order, flapping his wings in large arcs, producing a small, condensed twister, swirling with blue-ish winds. The Tauros stomped his foot on the ground, and braced itself for the contact. When the Twister came in contact with the bull's body, it battered it with several items picked up from the ground by the wind. But the Tauros didn't budge an inch. Nor did it flinch. As the Twister subsided, Tauros raised his head, releasing a loud cry, before charging again. But charge at Lavitz, the bull did not. He was instead aiming for Lucas and Krad!

"Ahh crap, Krad, get away!", Lucas yelled as her pushed Krad ever so swiftly, while attempting to make his own escape. As Elm watched fearfully, he noticed "Lavitz", as Lucas had called it, go from zero to what must've been at least thirty in less then four seconds: Quick Attack. Screeching as he came up behind the Tauros, he locked a talon on one of the bull's tails, yanking ever so violently.

The Tauros, shocked, let out a loud yelp accompanied by a leap into the air, and turned his head to face the bird, eyes watering.

"Haha, good job Lavitz! Get it with a Sand-Attack, this time!", Lucas laughed hysterically upon watching the Tauros jump literally three feet into the air. Lavitz shared a laugh with everyone watching, which turned out to be quite a few people, actually. Many people had the same idea as Elm, and had been hiding on the top of various trucks, trees, and anything else that could be reached. Returning his attention to the bull, he whipped down to the ground, and smacked his wing into a pile of sand which had been conveniently placed nearby. The resulting spit of sand landed right in the Tauros's eyes, and everyone shared a laugh once again, as the Tauros, once large and imposing, was reduced to smashing his head into the ground, making a serious effort at trying to remove the sand from his eyes. Finally, the Tauros had removed the sand from his eyes, however, it looked like the bull seriously injured himself from the ground smashing, and was wobbling severely. Shaking his head quite a few times, likely an attempt to clear his head of the many, many, copies of Lavitz he now saw.

The several bystanders couldn't help but start laughing louder and louder with each passing second. Tauros angrily whirled around to them, snorting loudly. Soon, however, the bull tumbled to the ground, fast asleep.

"That…was…far from graceful…Hahahah!", Lucas couldn't take it anymore and started pounding his legs with his fists in an attempt to stop laughing. Eventually, his laughing fit passed, and he quickly ran over to the sleeping Tauros, and tied the bull's three tails together, Tauros would have a hard time whipping himself for motivation now.

Elm slowly climbed down from the delivery truck, and uttered a few words that Lucas didn't happen to catch, and started walking away. Lucas reacted quickly by recalling Lavitz and jogging slightly to catch up with the Professor.

The trip to the Pokemon Center passed in a hurry, Lucas was far too engrossed in his comical victory over the Tauros, and before he knew it, Elm stood in the center with a face Lucas could tell was upset. Figuring he should stand beside the Professor, because he was to be introduced to the "Dex Holders", he walked to one side of Elm, and Krad quickly followed suit. Huh, I wonder why he's upset all of a sudden, he was laughing pretty good earlier…

When Liliana walked up to Professor Elm she noticed that he wasn't alone. Next to him stood a trainer who looked a bit older than she was, tall with sandy hair. He had heterochromic eyes with kind of freaked her out so she concentrated on the Grovyle beside him. He seemed to be staring back at everyone intently while staying by his master's side. Liliana looked back at Elm, shooting him a questioning look he soon answered hers and everyone's question.

"Everyone, before we go into the meeting, I would like you to meet Lucas. He is a trainer who seems to be caught in the middle of everything. So I have decided to make him honorary member of.. well… the "group". Which group he was hinting at Lili had no idea, but she had reason to expect to know it soon enough. Elm, however, was already rushing them all into the meeting room where several people were already seated.

Each and every one of them was old, at least 50 if she had to guess, but they seemed far from fragile. They each seemed proud and tough, like they took crap from no one. She caught the eyes of one of the two women seated and she met Liliana's gaze without hesitation. She seemed very old, older than the others in the room, but also wiser. That looks is what made Lili quickly look away in guilt.
When she sat down she deliberately sat as far away from Sahib as possible. She avoided looking at him entirely, afraid that he would find out if he looked into her eyes. Yes, Liliana was aware this might make her seem even more guilty, but right now she wasn't sure if she could keep everything hidden. Her face had a way of acting like a billboard, advertising her feelings to the world.

"To start off, we have some bad news," Elms eyes seemed saddened when he spoke the following part. "Bugsy has been found dead outside of the Ilex forest… He was murdered." If anything was said after that, Lili heard no more. He was… murdered. But he promised. He said so. He literally said "You have my promise." That bastard! He lied. Broke his promise… Killed Bugsy. And she fell for it. She fell for his god damned trick! How stupid was she exactly! He used Bugsy to persuade her and after that wasn't necessary anymore he cast him aside. Her hands made fists under the table and she had to struggle to keep a straight face, to keep her features even.

Well he could obviously not be trusted. She would never truly trust him again. Whatever he promised her, obviously it would not guarantee that he would keep his word. He showed his true side, a manipulative bastard. But she had no choice in the matter anymore. She had no choice, she joined up. But even though she had, that did not mean she had to believe a word he said. That did not mean she had to respect him, as long as he believed she did. She mentally vowed not to do anything out of kindness, not to do anything for him she did not have to do.

She had been so lost in thought she had not paid any attention to Elm anymore. When she looked up a woman who seemed to be in her 60s had stood up. Her hair was almost snow white and shoulder length and she had no trouble to portray her presence in the room. "Seeing you young trainers reminds me of when I was younger, although I faced much worse. It's good that you are here today." She seemed distant and very strict. Elm took the lead again.

"Everyone you already know Grecko Rage." On cue the man rose to his feet like the woman had done. "I am glad to see everyone has made it here safely." Those were all the words he would spare them before sitting down again. Liliana noticed Sahib looking her way but she kept her eyes on Grecko, she was not looking at him. Not now. Not untill she got herself together. The next man that stood up had messy hair that was still dark despite his age. His expression was amused and sinister at the same time, more so, she knew that expression. That bastard had guts.

"Well… Yeah congrats on getting here." Really this guy was not getting points on staying under cover. She realized she missed his name because she had been too astonished in her recognizing. Well, the mysterious man in the black cloak seemed to not only be dark, sinister and crazy. He was also cunning. But why did he want them here then, if he could be a spy himself? Maybe he wasn't planning on staying? She was abhorred when he turned to her and winked. That bastard, he definitely had guts. Bloody hell. She contained herself and stopped from glaring at him or flipping the bird or do anything that she might regret, however. Her protest would be a silent and passive aggressive one.

Her attention got pulled to the next person that stood up. He was much taller than the rest of them and commanded full attention while Elm introduced him. "Everyone, this is Gage Taveres, also Cairne's grandfather." Also? Did that mean he had another grandfather she had missed? Wait what? Not that Lili had anything against gay people but it just seemed weird. But which one was the second one then? Black Cloak Guy? Noooooo. Impossible…

The man spoke a quick welcome before sitting back down. This time another older man stood up, he seemed in his 80s maybe? He looked a slight bit ridiculous in the black cape and spiky hair. That was, if he weren't the famous Lance.

To confirm her thoughts Elm introduced him as a former Kanto League champion. The champion himself addressed them this time. "I sense some of you feel unsure about things right now .." That was all. What was with people and not saying a whole lot in this room? Sahib glanced her way again, she saw it in the corner of her eyes, but she avoided him completely. She would have to make up to the ignoring later, but she was too afraid of what her eyes would say if she did.

The woman who had looked at her earlier stood up now, commanding full attention. Professor Elm seemed rather small beside her, even though he was taller. She wore strange white clothing with lightning bolts on it and her wrinkles were deeper than anyone else's. "Everyone this is Sly, She is the last remaining Kanto beginning Trainer from the same year with Beo and Zypher"
Zypher… She thought back of the strange "dream". Thinking about it now she understood that it might have not been a dream after all, there was a good chance of this being so. Ever since that moment a lot of strange things had been happening. But If it hadn't been a dream… She remembered the expression of fear before the man called Zypher had fallen to the other man. She now wondered if that might have been this Beo. She remembered the man's laughter and shuddered.

The woman called Sly now walked to the front to fully command center stage. "It is my pleasure to be with you all today," was her intro. You could almost hear the heavier news lurking behind these words, waiting to come out. "Standing in front of you are the last remaining heroes of the past, and members of the Clan of Hope, the group that fought against Beo and his Dark Brotherhood. That is why you are here" Pause. She seemed to have troubles of her own, she didn't seem all too healthy. There seemed to be a good possibility the last of these three was not going to last for years to come.

"We believe that the current situation in Johto is the result of a resurrected Dark Brotherhood, who is behind it, we currently do not know…. As for what his plans are all we can say is that it is not good for Johto or the world." Pause. "Today is will be known as the day we resurrect the clan of hope, and fight back.. you have done your jobs thus far, which is why we are now giving you this information"
After this Grecko stands to speak. He pulls out a picture of a strange green creature Liliana remembered being called Celebi. It was one of the Legendaries of Johto and her sister was an avid worshipper of the tiny thing once. She had these stages. Grecko's rough voice brought her back from the memory.

This here is Celebi the time travel Pokemon, in my day I made very close friends with her and till this day we have shared a bond… A few nights ago though the bond vanished, I can no longer feel her presence in Johto… A part of me fears that the Dark Brotherhood is going to use her to find Giratina's and Darkrais Pokemon balls… and then they will unleash the darkness once again."

He paused for a dramatic effect, giving them the opportunity to soak in the information. Was that what they were planning? Getting Giratina and Darkrai? There was a lot to be accomplished with time. A lot… She felt doubt when she pictured that man in his black cloak with the power of time, let alone both Giratina and Darkrai. Gage now stood up to say a word.

"In other words, we must not fail to find and stop this new leader of the Brotherhood, whoever he is… he mustn't be allowed to find those Pokemon balls." Next was Lance.

"The best thing for all of you to do right now is continue your gym battles, we will work on locating this new threat… Once we know something we shall contact you, just keep your guards up…"
Again with the continuing encouragement of the gym battles. Shouldn't they be trying to secure the Leaders? Trying to keep them safe? But they would know more about this than she did. And above all, she wasn't even truly part of this. She was one of the Brotherhood. The man in black jumped up to throw his own coin in the pond.

"Yes don't not let your guard down for one moment, the darkness works in mysterious ways, we wouldn't want any of you to get lost in it." He seemed to like this darkness of his a bit too much, even as he was incognito. He seemed to idolize it almost as he falsely warned some of those in this room. Sly took over from here again.

"Well I'd say go take a good nights rest, and go for that next gym badge bright and early this is your first mission as a member of the Clan of Hope: To get the gym badge, and protect Whitney" With that the meeting was dismissed.

The voice in her head told her differently however. " We finally meet! Ignore that fool Sly, go straight to the gym, I want you to do whatever you can to wound her strongest Pokemon, that is your first mission... And get to sleep early tonight you might be woken quite... Rudely..." Liliana did not want to find out what exactly this rudely was..

TSukuyomi: Sweet post! Lavitz grew to lvl 27! Lavitz wants to learn feather dance delete a move to make room?

Dutchesse: Awesome post!!! You describe everything really well, and even added some comedy in there with saying Cairne had two grandfathers XD!

Elm stood in the doorway of the Pokemon Center shuffling nervously... Obviously something wasn't right. To his right stood a young man who seemed to be about the age of the other Dex Holders.

"Everyone before we get into the meeting, I would like you to meet Lucas, he is a Pokemon trainer and seems to be caught in the middle of everything, so I have made him an honorary Dex Holder" Elm said introducing the new kid Cairne gave him a "Hey" nod and got one in return. Elm rushed nervously into the Center almost tripping over himself twice. He pointed at a round table in the meeting room and sitting there in front of his were his grandparents. He recognized all the others from a photo his grandparents had framed on their wall... One in particular caught his eye though, it was the man sitting to the farthest left.... It was the cloaked man. He smiled and winked at Cairne as he walked in. Cairne sat down on the table and watched his grandfather remove his black tinted glasses and place them into his black overcoat.

Elm awkwardly made his way between the six trainers. "First off we have some bad news… Bugsy has been found outside of the Ilex forest.. He was murdered" Cairnes eyes immediately shifted to the man who had made him the promise not to murder Bugsy and he let out a sharp breath .

"That son of a *****!" Cairne thought to himself as the man continued to smile through the news as if it was nothing. Cairne looked towards the others who had follen for the mans trick to gauge their reactions. The quiet girl who usually looked a bit timid was actually quite focused... Her brow grew with sweat and Cairne could tell she was trying to keep herself from punching the man in the face.

"That is why you are here right now, my colleagues here feel it is time for the truth, so let me get to introductions" Elm said and Cairnes grandmother stood up giving up her usual confidence. "Everyone this here is Angela Taveres, as most of you can tell be the last name this is Cairnes grandmother." Elm fell back into his seat after saying the statement as if it were a relief to say.

"Seeing you young trainers remind me of when I was younger, although I faced much worse, it's good that you are here today" She said and without another word sat back into her seat. The man from the ruins stood and gave off a similar level of confidence that hi grandmother did.

"Everyone you already know this is Grecko Rage" Elm said and Grecko cleared his throat.

"I am glad to see everyone has made it here safely" he said with a stern expression before sitting back down. Elm balanced himself as he prepared for the next introduction

"Everyone this is Shaun Tess" He then stands up quickly and flashed a bit of his teeth in contrast to his shirt.

"Well… yeah congrats on getting here" Cairne could feel anger well up inside of him. What the hell does he need me for if he's already a part of this? Cairne thought to himself.

"Everyone this is Gage Taveres also Cairnes Grandfather" Elm said as Shaun sat down and Cairne grandfather stood up. He was in his usual attire... A black suit and hat. He tucked his burned hand into his pocket as he spoke to everyone.

"Welcome everyone." He was never big on speeches Cairne remembered. One of the oldest in the group stood and his cane made a click on the ground as he came to his feet. Cairne recognized him from somewhere but he really couldn't place it.

"This is the ex-champion of the Kanto League, Lance." Elm said introducing the second to last person in the circle. Cairne recognized him now! He was in a photo in his grandparents house shaking his grandfather by the hand inside the Indigo Plateau.

"Hmph, I can sense some of you feel unsure about things right now.." He said before sitting back down. Elm then came forward one final time. An older woman stood she was wearing some kind of bright white uniform with lightning bolts on it. Her face was full of wrinkles and what not and Cairne could tell she had been through many stress related incidents in her lifetime.

"Everyone this is Sly, She is the last remaining Kanto beginning Trainer from the same year with Beo and Zypher" Cairne wasn't seriously surprised, Sly would visit from time to time at his grandparents house for tea and a chat. Sly slowly walks to the front.

"It is my pleasure to be here with you all today" she paused and took a second to breathe. "Standing in front of you are the last remaining heroes of the past, and members of the Clan of Hope, the group that fought against Beo and his Dark Brotherhood. That is why you are here" She paused ot inhale again again, the years were really catching up to her. She then continued, "We believe that the current situation in Johto is the result of a resurrected Dark Brotherhood, who is behind it, we currently do not know…. As for what his plans are all we can say is that it is not good for Johto or the world" Another pause to inhale. "Today is will be known as the day we resurrect the clan of hope, and fight back.. you have done your jobs thus far, which is why we are now giving you this information" She turned and made eye contact with Grecko.

Grecko pulls out a photo of Celebii. "This here is Celebi the time travel Pokemon, in my day I made very close friends with her and till this day we have shared a bond… A few nights ago though the bond vanished, I can no longer feel her presence in Johto… A part of me fears that the Dark Brotherhood is going to use her to find Giratina's and Darkrais Pokemon balls… and then they will unleash the darkness once again." Cairne stopped and thought for a moment. He remembered the stories he was told growing up and turned to Gage who had then put on his glasses once more, he then turned to Shaun who nodded and smiled to him.

Gage stood. "In other words, we must not fail to find and stop this new leader of the Brotherhood, whoever he is… He mustn't be allowed to find those Pokemon balls." He finished and Lance stood.

"The best thing for all of you to do right now is continue your gym battles, we will work on locating this new threat… Once we know something we shall contact you, just keep your guards up…" Lance finished and Shaun quickly jumped in.

"Yes don't not let your guard down for one moment, the darkness works in mysterious ways, we wouldn't want any of you to get lost in it" He said with a smirk, what a cocky bastard Cairne thought to himself.

"Well I'd say go take a good nights rest, and go for that next gym badge bright and early this is your first mission as a member of the Clan of Hope: To get the gym badge, and protect Whitney" She finished the meeting.

In Cairnes mind he could hear Shauns voice echo. " We finally meet! Ignore that fool Sly, go straight to the gym, I want you to do whatever you can to wound her strongest Pokemon, that is your first mission... And get to sleep early tonight you might be woken quite... Rudely..." Cairne couldnt say anything to the man as much as he wanted to, too many witnesses. Instead he thought he might be able to talk to his grandfather... He was too wrapped up in conversation with Grecko. Cairne turned to go to the Pokemon Center and heal his Pokemon but was stopped by Angela.

"Hey there kiddo!" She said hugging him, Cairne was so afraid he was going to crush her small frame he barely hugged back. "How you healing up?" She said holding his cheek.

"I'm doing find grandma... Kai still holds a grudge I guess..." He said looking around his grandmothers shoulder over at Kaitlyn.

"You kids remind me of your grandfather and I when we were kids... Sure the circumstances were a little different but I would give him quite the beating from time to time." She laughed and Cairne was curious how a woman her size could pummel someone as large as his grandfather. "You two would make a great couple." She smiled and Cairne could feel his stomach bubble.

"No... It's not like that Grandma..." Cairne tried to look away.

"Pfft but I bet you wish it could be you big wuss... Don't you agree Bolt?" She looked down at her Raichu who nodded in agreement and bopped Cairne on the head with its tail.

"Shes mad at me right now anyways so theres nothing that could really happen even if I Wanted it to." Cairne responded forcing excuses.

"All you need to do is stand up for yourself and show some backbone and I promise she will be impressed.. And you might want to apologize and tell her everything that really happened.

"Errm...Right...." Cairne said looking away. Bolt bopped him on the head again.

"You listent to me boy... You get wise being an old lady like I am." She laughed.

"Oh, your not old Grandma!" Cairne lied.

"No one likes a kiss ass Vincent." She winked at him still smiling.

"I'll keep that in mind... And could you do me a favor grandma?" Cairne asked her.

"Only because you asked so sweetly." She laughed.

"Could you send Honey to my parents? She's not really a fighter and I'm sure dad would love to sculpt her or whatever it is he does..." Cairne laughed.

"Sure thing kiddo. I have to go now but you promise to keep being a good boy, your grandfather and I are proud of you." She kissed him on the cheek and Bolt hit him on the head again. "Now that was just plain mean of you Bolt." She said to the electric mouse Pokemon.

Cairne felt completely guilty... He decided that day that the next chance he got he was going to quit the brotherhood.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a quick trip to the Pokemon Center Cairne made his way across the damaged brick streets. He approached the gym doors but standing there with his arms crossed was a huge man with an emotionless expression on his face.

"I'm here to challenge the gym leader." Cairne said to the man who just grunted. "Did you hear me? I'm here to challenge the leader here for a badge"

"Whitney isn't taking challengers right now... Come back tomorrow..." The man said still with little expression. Cairne frowned and turned away from the gym, he really needed to complete this mission so he could be face to face with Shaun again.

In his mind he heard the oh so familiar voice. "Say this and this alone to get into the gym, The Darkness had a way of keeping the dead alive. And he should let you in without any questions."

Cairne turned to the guard and quoted the phrase exactly. Without another word the guard stepped asside and let Cairne enter. The Gym had a qhite brick floor and was covered in flower boxes from wall to wall.

"Well hi there cutey!" Cairne heard a voice and out walked a pink haired woman of average height. She smiled and waved at Cairne happily. She was wearing an outfit of pink and white and her hair was perfectly straightened. "You're here a little late aren't you? I guess you must be just another one of those eager beavers excited for a battle! I can't blame you!" She winks.

"You got me pegged there ma'am." Cairne said mocking her but she took no notice.

"All my other Pokemon are exhausted from a long day of battling so I'm sorry to say I will be using my strongest Pokemon against you if you don't mind!" She smiled and pulled out two Pokemon balls. "Eeny Meenie Minee Mo!" She pointed at one of the balls and all Cairne could think about was her immaturity "Okay you first!" She says throwing it out. A purple and tan cat creature leaped out of the ball and purred while arching her back. "Isn't she just beautiful!" Whitney said holding her two arms together and her fists right underneath her chin.

"Oh my goodness, cutest Delcatty ever!" Cairne said mocking her again as he tossed release Slash. "Slash use Mud shot!" Cairne yelled Pointing at the cat Pokemon. The cat was struck in the face and knocked to the ground covered in mud.

"Not Delcattys flawless coat! Delcatty use your Wish attack!" Whitney commanded and Delcatty shot a white star from her mouth that started flying around her. The mud started getting cleaned from her fur and Cairne took advantage of the moment.

"Scratch!" Cairne yelled and his small dome Pokemon leaped onto Delcatty and scratched her disrupting her attack.

"Wow you are so feisty!" She giggled. "Lets use your Faint attack Delcatty!" She commanded and her Pokemon dissapeared into the bricks. It reappeared right behind Slash and sing its tail swatted Slash like a hockey puck into the wall.

"Slash let's use absorb!" Cairne commanded his Pokemon Who leaped into the air.

"Substitute and then Copycat!" Whitney said in her ever upbeat voice. HE delcatty rolled out of the way and Cairnes Pokemon began to use its attack on a light clone. Then the Delcatty bit down on Slashed hard shell and stated sucking the energy out of him.

"Slash use Icy Wind at the ground!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon shot a huge blast of air at the ground seding him and the Delcatty biting him up into the sky. The two smashed into the brick ceiling and then fell down to the brick floor. Slash was knocked unconscious but Delcatty stood back up heavily wounded. "Slash return! Go Omen!" Cairne yelled tossing out he next Pokemon.

"Delcatty let's try Wish again!" She yelled and her Pokemon released another star.

"Omen, use Razor Wind!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon shot a blast of air from the blade on its head at the Delcatty.

"Substitute!" Whitney commanded and her Pokemon summoned another light clone to take the hit. It was sliced completely in half but it had saved Delcatty enough time to complete its Wish attack.

"Darnit...Omen use your quick attack!" Cairne yelled out to his Pokemon who began charging releasing and stream of white light behind it.

"Copycat!" Whitney commanded giggling as her Pokemon pulled the same menuever and the two collided in air.

"Again!" Cairne commanded.

"You too Delcatty!" Whitney continued to laugh. She was getting over confident in a single attack, that would be her downfall. Once again the two collided and were evenly matched.

"Quick Attack!" Cairne commanded a third time.

"You know what to do Delcatty!" Whitney commanded and the two Pokemon began rushing at eachother.

"Scratch now!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon drew it claws out cutting a heavy gash into Delcattys back leg. The Pokemon touched the ground and starting limping around as blood oozed from its thigh."Pursuit!" Cairne yelled and Omen dshed into Delcatty knocking it to the ground.

"My poor kitty!" Whitney yelled running over to her Pokemon. "That last attack was completely unnecessary I hope you know! Delcatty might not ever be in fighting shape ever again!" She hugged her Pokemon and returned it to its ball. "No more holding back, even if you are a cutey your a meany too! Go Miltank!" She tossed out another ball and out came a big pink Cow Pokemon. "Body Slam!" The cow Pokemon did a dive and slammed onto Omen forcing it to the ground and seemingly paralyzing it, there was no way it could fight like that.

"Omen return! Go Ripe!" Cairne tossed out the Pokemon ball and out came his giant Pokemon.

"Rollout Miltank!" The woman yelled and her Pokemon began rolling on the ground rapidly.

"Stomp!" Cairne yelled just before Miltank made contact and Ripe lifted its foot and slammed it down on miltank. Miltank tayed in a ball but stopped rolling around. "Awesome now use your Gust!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon launched a gust of wind that sent the cow Pokemon into a wall it fell to the ground flat and then stood up.

"Now use your Razor Leaf!" Cairne commanded.

"Captivate!" Whitney yelled out before Ripe could launch its leaves. Miltank started doing an odd dance and Ripe tilted its head to the side in confusion. "Rollout then Body Slam!" Whitney yelled and her Pokemon went abck into the ball and this time slammed into Ripes Chest, after the hit it opened its arms and legs up and tackled into Ripe with its full body. Ripe was dazed and damaged. "Finish it with one last Rollout!" Whitney commanded and her Pokemon smashed into Ripe one last time knocking him out.

"Damn..." Cairne said returning his Pokemon and Whitney went back to her laughing. "It's all up to you Baron!" Cairne said tossing out the ball containing his last Pokemon.

"Rollout Miltank!" Whitney yelled and her Pokemon began spinning again.

"Magnitude Baron!" Baron slammed its feet on the ground and shook up al the brick changing their arrangment, bends were made in the gym floor and Miltank jumped off of one and lammed into Baron.

"Keep on goign with the Rollout Miltank! It's working!" Whitney said excitedly.

"Get up Baron!" Cairne yelled but as his Pokemon began to stand it was struck down again. "Get up now, you can do it, I know you can!" Cairne yelled at his Pokemon who just then stood to its feet an let out a louder roar than usual. The spinning Pokemon began rushing at Baron again. Before it could make contact though Baron began glowing and growing in size. There instead of Baron stood a gargantuan black Pokemon with three golden rings on its side. Miltank slammed into the side of the beast and fell to the ground, it's attack had little to no affect on Barons newly evolved form.

"Come on Miltank, use your Body Slam!" Whitney yelled and her Pokemon leaped at Baron.

"Take Down Baron!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon charged at Miltank slamming it in the chest and knocking it into the wall a few feet away. The power was incredible... This is what Shaun meant by ultimate power! "Lets finish this!" Cairne yelled "Use Mud Bomb!" Cairne yelled. His Pokemon shot a giant basket ball sized orb from its back and it fell down on Miltank. It blew a giant hole in the wall and Miltank fell down to the ground and coughed up some blood before passing out.

"Enough of this!" Whitney announced. Cairne could see a tear in her eye as she ran to her Pokemon. "Just take it! Take it and leave!" She yelled tossing the badge across the brick floor. Cairne pocketed the badge and walked away from the gym. He felt very remorseful of course but at the same time he felt great, he had finally experienced the power he always looked for... And he did it with the help of the darkness.

When he returned to the Pokemon Center it was pitch black outside and everyone was asleep. He snuck upstairs and began walking by each of the rooms. He stopped and stepped back to the room he knew was Kaitlyns. He snuck inside quietly and tucked a letter into her pocket. He stopped and looked closely at her, it had been the first time he'd seen her at peace in years.

"Cairne..." she said in her sleep and Cairne smiled. All of a sudden a punch came out of no where and clipped Cairne in the cheek. Kaitlyn rolled over and pulled the covers over her head.

"Even in her dreams she is beating me up... I just can't win dammit..." Cairne said laughing as he walked the halls.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cairne laid down and felt the comfortable sheets touch his bare shirtless skin. Cairne felt his mind wander to today's events as he slowly lost consciousness in his bed. He needed to choose between his dreams and what was the right thing to do... The only problem is every time he did the right thing in the end he would end up being the one screwed over in the deal. As his mind left the realm of consciousness Cairne could feel the strange sensation of movement prior to feeling his body thud to the ground.

"Wha-?" Cairne said opening his eyes to complete darkness. All of a sudden a stage light illuminated him and a perfect circle around him. He winced in order to keep his eyes open. "Hello?" He said still in a daze from being awoken in such a way.

"Help! Cairne help!" Cairne heard Kais voice and came to attention immediately. Another stage light was turned on and there in front of Cairne was a cage holding a surprisingly frightened Kaitlyn. "Get me out of here!" She yelled and Cairne began running toward the cage, the stage light following.

All of a sudden a man in an odd mask appeared from the darkness in front of the cave. The mask was highly familiar, it was an oval ying yang symbol with a hole for an eye on one of the halves. Over the mans body was a cloak draping and hiding every other part of him. He wagged his finger at Cairne and shook his head back and forth.

"Who are you!" Cairne yelled angrily. The masked man shrugged and let out a distorted sounding laugh. Cairne rushed at him with a clentched fist but the man ducked under the punch, did a back flip and pulled out a black-topped Pokemon ball.

"You want a battle ehh? Well then bring it on!" Cairne pulled a ball of the belt he had around his waist and tossed it out to the ground. "Go Omen! Cairne yelled and sent out his Pokemon. Another laugh came from the masked man as he tossed out his sole Pokemon ball, out of it came an Absol that looked identical to Omen in every way except for its colors, it seemed to be Omens completely opposite, black where white should be and white where black should be. Omen turned to face Cairne and he that meant something was seriously wrong.

"Omen start it off with a Quick Attack!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon dashed at the copy in front of it. The copy jumped and slammed down on Omen with a quick attack of its own sending Omen flying backwards. Cairne heard a thud in the distance and then the sound of paws dashing forward.

"Come on Omen use Pursuit!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon started running sending a black aura behind it. The masked mans Pokemon swung its head and blasted Omen with an explosion of air. Omen fell to the ground unconscious.

"Return Omen! Go Slash!" Cairne yelled swapping Pokemon. All of a sudden the enemies Pokemon became a gelatinous blob and shifted form into a black shelled version of Slash.

"What the hell?" Cairne said while the masked man laughed at him. The dark Slash shot a ball of mudd out of it mouth and immediately afterward a blast of cold air freezing it. The mud ball became as hard as a rock and Cairne heard a loud crack noise as Slash was nailed by the mud ball.

"Come on Slash, that fake doesn't have anything on you! Use absorb!" Cairne yelled hoping his Pokemon could recover some health. The other man copied the pointing Cairne does in a fight mocking him. Slash leaped into the air and was met by another mud ball and then whie blinded by mud got a scratch attack in the face. Slash fell to the ground unconscious.

"Grr Ripe don't let me down!" Cairne yelled once again swapping his Pokemon and sending ot his giant fruit bearing creature. Not surprisingly the opponents Pokemon changed forms once more copying that of Ripe only this time with black where green should be, white instead of brown and gray fruit.

"Razor leaf Ripe!" Cairne commanded and his Pokemon launched gigantic green leaved from its back at the imposter Pokemon. The dark Ripe launched a huge blast of air from its wings sending all of Ripe leaves back at him and then followed the attack up with a Razor Leaf of its own. Ripe was struck hard and could only barely stand up afterward.

"Growth full power Ripe!" Cairne yelled to his Pokemon who began growing in incredible sizes. The enemies Pokemon started growing as well until it was at least twice as large as Cairnes Pokemon.

"No way!" Cairne yelled and the fake Ripe launched a giant blast of air that sent Ripe and Cairne flying back. In order to protect Cairne Ripe jumped in his way and as a result knocked itself out. It shrunk back to normal size and Cairne returned it to its ball.

"What the hell do you want from me!?" Cairne screamed at the masked man. He pointed at Kaitlyn with his thumb and then dragged his index finger across his throat and made the execution motion.

"NO NEVER!" Cairne yelled and the masked man began laughing again hysterically while nodding. "Baron use Take Down now!" Cairne yelled tossing out the ball containing his strongest Pokemon. His Pokemon began charging at its copy who was completely white except for its completely black eyes. The two collided and seemed perfectly matched.

"Don't hold back Baron! Give him everything you have! All he wants is to hurt you, hurt me, and hurt everyone we love! Dont let him do that!" Baron shot steam from its nostrils and started pushing the fake back further and ruther pulling up the tile ground below the two. The fake was sent back to the ground in front of them.

"Now use MAgnitude!" Cairne screamed and Baron slammed its feet down tearing a gorge in the earth that the clone fell through. "Mud Bomb!" Cairne commanded and his Pokemon **** 3 basketball size balls of mud down into the gorge causing massive explosions and knocking the copycat Pokemon out. "Finish this with Lava Plume!" Cairne yelled with rage in his voice and his Pokemon shot giant blasts of blue and black burning lava from its mouth at the imposter who screamed in extreme pain. It even move anymore and Baron continued attacking it.

"Your turn!" Cairne yelled running at the masked man. He grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up before smashing him in the face with his fist and breaking his mask in half. The white half of the ying yang fell the ground ground and revealed a majority of the mans face. Cairne dropped the man when he realized whos face it really was... It was his own. He looked up at Kaitlyn who was walking backwards in fear. Cairne placed his face into his oen hands and began yelling.

"ENOUGH!" Cairne heard Shauns voice yell and the world dissolved around him. He opened his eyes again to see he was in a twisted purple version of the Pokemon Center and surrounded by four Hypno.

"Another test that you passed with flying colors my young friend. The other trainers are curently distracted and shouldnt notice your gone at the moment... The Pokemon Center is currently... In a state of ruin...." Shaun said standing over the bed and staring at Cairne.

"Look we need to talk Shaun! I'm getting sick of all these tests and bull ****... This is over!" Cairne said getting up.

"Your wrong boy!" Shaun stared at Cairne. "Nothing is over unless I say it is... That is unless you want your family and little girlfriend finding out that you are a murderer." He smiled mischievously.

"Look buddy I never killed anybody!" Cairne yelled at Shaun.

"Oh but what about the knife covered in Bugsys blood?" Shaun responded.

"What about it?" Cairne yelled and Shaun pointed down at Cairnes hands. In his right hand was a knife covered in dry blood. He dropped it and it fell to the ground with a clatter.

"Do we have an understanding boy?" Shaun yelled at Cairne.

"....Yes.." Cairne responded defeated.

"Good... Now go back to your little club and try to look nonchalant about it." He ruffled Cairnes hair as he walked off out of the Center and snapped his fingers.

Cairne hit the floor back in the real world. He was right in front of a burning Pokemon Center and around him were the bodies of his cloaked comrades.

"It seems there has been an attempt on our lives tonight… we must work quicker to figure this out… Come now we have been invited to stay at the Bill's house for the remainder of the night. In the morning you will continue your mission and training." Cairne hears Grecko voice in the distance and then joins up with the large group of Dex Holders. He brought the group to the house of an older man, possibly 60 or so in his Pjs. The man Showed everyone the rooms they will be sleeping in, one for guys and one for girls. Cairne laid back down to sleep through till the morning and began thinking about what exactly that dream had meant. He looked out the window and in the hallways saw Kaitlyns eyes peering into the room at him. It was a fleeting glance but it was enough to get his mind off of everything that had happened that night.

The next day, the first thing Sahib noticed when he woke up was that his face hurt. Sahib lifted his head and pressed a hand to his face. He sighed when he found a slight imprint from Quilava's harsh fur on his face. Quilava's red eyes opened, and it blinked blearily up at Sahib. After Sahib got read y for the day and walked out, he found that the others were there. Grecko and Gage gave them their little task for the day. That task was to go to the gym and get their battles in.

Sahib recalled Quilava and stuffed his hands into his pockets. I hate being ordered around like this, Sahib thought in annoyance as he walked to the gym. He liked his freedom, and most certainly didn't like to be told when to do things unless it was by his parents. Those people hadn't really earned his full respect, even if they were part of the "Clan of Hope". Sahib sighed. This was one of the times that being a loner was probably a bad thing, but he couldn't help it. He could follow orders and take them, but there would eventually be a breaking point. Sahib hoped he could stand being told when to get a gym badge. Pfft…what's next? He wondered, are they gonna tell me what to catch too?

Once he approached the gym, Sahib frowned. There was a man standing guard at the front entrance. He looked rather serious, and not like he was going to let anyone pass. Sahib glanced behind him and found the other trainers were there too. This is annoying, he thought. Sahib also didn't like big group things. Going to a gym with a bunch of people, I mean seriously…He shook his head and approached the guard, intent on going in whether the man liked it or not.

"I'm sorry but it's currently unsafe for Whitney to have any battles at the moment. She is checking on her Pokémon. They were badly injured earlier today, and she is making some substitutions. You'll have to come back later on, kid," the man said gruffly. Sahib found himself glaring at the guy, but Sahib turned around instead of making a scene.

Actually, Sahib decided, this is probably what I wanted, not just to barge in there no matter what. He was really contradicting himself today, something that Sahib didn't quite like. He ran a hand through his hair, pulling on the ends. Sahib was rather tense for some reason, and he couldn't get himself to calm down. With a soft sigh, he walked back towards the direction of the house, quite unsure of what he was going to do. Along the way, he ran into Elm. Suddenly he remembered.

"Professor," Sahib began, gaining the man's attention.

"Huh? Oh! Sahib, yes what is it?" the man questioned.

"Do you think you could take a couple of my Pokémon? I doubt the PC is working in the Center, so…" Sahib trailed off, plucking two Pokeballs off of his backpack's strap.

"Ah, indeed I can take them," Elm stated.

"Just don't lose them," Sahib joked. Elm looked sick for a moment, and then realized Sahib was joking. He laughed in a slightly nervous way. Sahib felt a teensy bit unsure about giving his Pokémon to Elm at that moment, but then shrugged and handed him Flaffy and Growlithe's Pokeballs. The Professor eyed the Pokémon inside the balls with slight surprise. "It's just…" Sahib trailed off, looking mostly at Growlithe's Pokeball, "I feel the need to have a moderately balanced team. With Growlithe, a rock type could possibly wash out half of my team. So…I'm just going to stick with Quilava, Furret, Aerodactyl, and Wartortle for now."

"I see," Elm replied in understanding, tucking the Pokémon away. "Shouldn't you be battling Whitney?"

"Tch…" Sahib huffed, glancing away. "They won't let anyone battle her. Something about her Pokémon being hurt," Sahib stated.

"Hmm…that's unfortunate," Elm commented airily.

"Yeah…well, I'm off to sight see. See you later, professor," Sahib called as he turned away from the man.

Sahib walked around aimlessly for a bit, unsure of what to do in the overly large town. He didn't feel like going to the Radio Tower, nor did he feel like going to the giant shopping center. The thing he stumbled upon next did seem interesting though. Sahib found what supposedly led to the Underground of the city. He glanced around. No one was really following him, so he just walked down the stairs. Sahib had to admit he sorta felt like some undercover spy or something, glancing about him and half sneaking down the tunnel.

Sahib wasn't quite sure what he expected when he got down there, but it sure hadn't been this. There were some small booths and stores scattered about, each advertising something different. One said they would cut your Pokémon's hair. Sahib thought for a moment, vaguely imagining them giving Furret some creepy hairstyle. Sahib made a face and shivered before moving along down the tunnel. He felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up, and he glanced behind him.

A dude wearing a purple cape was sitting in a chair, staring at Sahib. He had a frilly white shirt on, and tight looking pants. Sahib's eyebrow raised, not something I wanted to see, really…a guy wearing leather pants. Lovely. The guy got up and walked towards him, bringing out some sort of stick. Sahib glanced at the stick at then the guy. His hair was blonde and curly, falling a few inches past the nape of his neck. Sahib blinked, vaguely wondering if Mr. Tight Pants was gay.

"We met gazes," the man replied in an eerie voice. "So we must battle."

"Name your place and conditions," Sahib replied, feeling excited already.

"Right here, of course," the man said. "Almost like a street fight of Pokémon. We do not need grass or an arena to fight. A double battle will do. Sound good to you, mon ami?"

Sahib's eyebrow rose. "Mon ami, huh?" he asked, a tiny hint of a smile on his face. "Sure, I'll battle you. I'm Sahib," Sahib replied, giving his name. He rarely did that, but for some reason he just felt he should.

"Pleasure to meet you, Sahib," he replied, bowing slightly. "I am Jean, the psychic."

"A psychic, huh?" Sahib questioned as he walked a ways away from Jean. "Then bring it!" Sahib called, grabbed Wartortle's Pokeball.

"As you wish, mon ami," Jean replied. He waved his stick, and then suddenly there was a Kadabra on the field. Sahib's eyes went wide as he blinked. "My staff," Jean said, twirling the stick, "is also something that I can place a Pokeball on the end to release my Pokémon. Flashy, no?"

"Oui," Sahib replied with a tiny grin on his face. "Now can we get to the battle?" Jean inclined his head. "Ah, so I get the first move," Sahib said. "Wartortle, start off with your new water pulse!" Sahib called, remembering the new move he had noticed earlier that day.

Wartortle nodded and opened its mouth, sending a stream of pulsating water streaming towards Kadabra. Kadabra had a tiny smirk on its face. Sahib licked his lips. This time, he knew what sort of Pokémon he was dealing with. In the right hands, he also knew, this Pokémon could prove to be very dangerous. The Kadabra suddenly shot an attack out, stopping the water in its tracks. Sahib's eyes went wide as the attack was redirected towards Wartortle. Wartortle reacted instantly, becoming cloaked in a veil of green to protect itself against its own attack.

"Kadabra is much stronger than you may first think," Jean said in his accent. "Now…use disable, Kadabra!" Jean called, motioning towards Wartortle.

Kadabra's spoons glowed a bright color. Wartortle glanced about rapidly, and when it tried to use another water pulse it didn't exactly work. Sahib clenched his teeth together and thought about what to do. He had soon found out that Jean was very good at handling his Kadabra.

"Wartortle, you can still win this. Go for a rapid spin!" Sahib called.

Wartortle nodded and quickly jumped into his shell. It began to spin and soon it was directly in front of the Kadabra. Jean chuckled and called for a confusion attack. Kadabra's spoons soon began glowing. Wartortle was stopped mid-attack, hanging in the air and spinning still. Sahib's eyes widened slightly, this is so not good. Kadabra then flung Wartortle away. Then Kadabra simply stood there ready and waiting for the next attack. Sahib glanced at Wartortle and thought hard, wondering how to beat the psychic type.

"Kadabra, how about we finish this quickly? Use psybeam," Jean said calmly.

Kadabra shot a beam of psychic energy towards Wartortle in a rush. Wartortle set up another veil quickly, protecting itself from the attack. Sahib then realized what he needed to do to win this battle. All he had to do was take the few seconds that Kadabra would be open after its psychic attacks, and then he could get the battle done for sure.

"Wartortle, quick use rapid spin!" Sahib called.

Wartortle immediately slipped into its shell, sensing Sahib's urgency. Wartortle spun towards Kadabra quickly, slamming into the psychic Pokémon with success this time. Wartortle popped out of the shell, but not before unleashing a (now not disabled) water pulse attack. The close range caused Kadabra to fly backwards from the force of the water. Kadabra got up, and just as Jean opened his mouth to call an attack, he realized something. Kadabra was tottering about. The attack had been strong enough to confuse the psychic.

"Well now," Jean muttered, "I knew you would fight dirty. Kadabra, use recover!"

Kadabra moved its spoons, but this time Sahib realized it didn't go exactly as planned. The Pokémon floated in the air, slammed into the ground, and simply looked about dumbly. It hurt itself! Sahib thought happily. He ordered another water pulse. Wartortle shot the jet of water towards Kadabra, and it hit the Pokémon once more. Kadabra slowly pushed itself up. It didn't look very woozy, just like it was growing tired from the attacks.

"Good job, Wartortle," Sahib said. "Now let's finish it off! Attack with rapid spin and follow up with water gun!" Sahib called, intent on finishing the match.

Wartortle nodded and went about this quickly. Jean called for Kadabra to stop it with confusion, but before Kadabra could move Wartortle was upon it. Wartortle, though slower than the Kadabra was, slammed into the Pokémon first. This knocked Kadabra backwards, making the Pokémon incapable of attacking. Wartortle then unleashed the jet of water, knocking the Pokémon unconscious. Sahib grinned widely at his victory and recalled Wartortle.

"I see you are talented, mon ami," Jean commented as he recalled his Kadabra. "However, that was not my strongest Pokémon. This one is," Jean said the last sentence so simply, it almost frightened Sahib. Moments later, a Scyther was standing in front of Jean, hissing out its name.

"Heh, good thing I picked this guy," Sahib said, tossing his Pokeball upwards. He then tossed it onto the field. There was a flash of light, and then it revealed Quilava to be standing there. His fur sparkled under the lights of the Underground. Jean stared at Quilava for a while, and then glanced to Sahib. "I suppose you can go first this time."

"Thank you, mon ami," Jean said, inclining his head. "Scyther, shall we begin? Start off with slash. Then use agility to gain speed."

Scyther hissed, charging at Quilava. Its claw began to glow from sheer sharpness. Sahib called for Quilava to dodge, and then use a swift attack. Quilava leaped away from the blade, but Scyther kept coming. They were engrossed in the battle. Quilava was dodging Scyther's sharp blade and Scyther was attempting to slash Quilava. Quilava sprang away, unleashing a fury of swift from its mouth. Scyther knocked them all away quickly, and then flew in for the kill. It slashed Quilava, sending Sahib's Pokémon rolling backwards.

"Quilava forget the swift, use flame wheel!" Sahib said, knowing it was probably a good way to get Scyther away from Quilava.

Quilava nodded swiftly and was soon surrounded in a wheel of fire. Scyther attempted to leap away, but before it could Quilava slammed into the Pokémon's back, knocking it to the ground. Scyther cried out as the flaming Pokémon hit, exploiting the Pokémon's weakness. Sahib figured that he had just a couple more flame wheels, and then the match would be won. Jean, however, had other plans.

"Scyther, use agility," Jean said.

Scyther used the attack, making it quickly scramble away from Quilava. Scyther whipped around, and then flew towards Quilava so fast that Quilava wasn't able to launch another attack. Jean smirked slightly when Scyther's claws slashed Quilava across the back, causing the fire type to cry out. Sahib snapped his teeth together and thought about what he could do next. Now Scyther was obviously faster than Quilava, but that really didn't mean much in this situation because it wasn't very dire.

"Alright Quilava, let's try this…use quick attack, followed with flame wheel," Sahib called.

Scyther attempted to get away, but to no avail. Quilava slammed into the Pokémon, knocking it to the ground. Quilava leaped up, turned up the heat, and then came slamming back down onto Scyther, effectively knocking the Pokémon out. Jean sighed softly and recalled Scyther, glancing at Sahib.

"Well, mon ami, you are certainly good at this," Jean said.

Sahib's eyes went wide, and he blanched. Jean blinked, cocking his head to the side curiously. Sahib shook his head a few times, and then recalled Quilava. "Uh…I…thanks, dude," Sahib replied, scratching the back of his head. With those final words, Sahib turned away from the guy.

"Mon ami, I am curious," a voice said next to him.

Sahib nearly jumped out of his skin at the fact that the guy was right next to his face. "Yes…?" Sahib asked slowly.

"Why do you look so lonely?"

"Uhm…" Sahib trailed off. He liked the guy earlier, but now he sorta felt like a creepo. You know, one of those…overly nice…guys…orgayonesbutstill. "I guess I just like to be alone is all," Sahib replied.

"I see!" Jean replied. "Well! I shall find you later!" Then he walked off, disappearing into the tunnels.

Sahib stared. He didn't know what the hell just happened, but whatever it was he was slightly scared shitless. Does that guy…? He then shook his head, banishing him from his mind. Right…well then, Sahib thought as he walked upstairs. He was looking down as he did so, and didn't notice someone right in front of him. He knocked into said person, accidentally falling on top of this person. Oh just great, he thought, opening his eyes.

"Sahib?"

Ohshitit'sLili! Sahib thought as he practically leaped off of her.

"Ehm…Hey…Sahib…" Lili said.

Sahib realized she sounded irritated, but mistook it for the fact that he had just fallen on top of her. He held out a hand, basically offering to help her up. "Sorry about that, it's just…" Sahib trailed off. "I ran into this really…interesting…guy," Sahib said, having issues on how to explain. He frowned when she hesitated at taking his hand, but she finally did.

"Thanks." Sahib noticed it was slightly grudging, but didn't comment. "And this guy would have to be very…interesting…then huh?"

She was making light conversation, and Sahib didn't like it. "Yeah, very," he said in a slightly clipped way. "Wearing leather pants and everything," he grumbled, shoving his hands into his pockets. "So what've you been up to?" he questioned as casually as he could manage.

"Not all too much, I've been trying to train a bit. Got a new addition to my team and such. You?"

Sahib wanted to pull his hair out from the idle chatter. "I got a new Pokémon as well," Sahib replied. He looked at her face. She seemed to be hiding something. "You know, wearing your emotions on your face and then trying to cover them up won't work with me," Sahib muttered. "So…did something happen?" he asked, licking his lips. She wouldn't, so it's probably not that. Maybe she got bad news from her family, Sahib thought, clearly denying it.

She was biting her lip. Then, she seemed to finally admit it. "It's nothing really…There's just this guy that's really annoying me," she said, looking fairly truthful.

Sahib's eyebrow's pulled together. I hope she doesn't mean me…he thought with a tiny frown on his face. He erased the frown. "Well, maybe you should kick his ass. That'd probably make you feel better," he said, attempting a fairly feeble joke.

Her laugh was sheepish, and he knew she probably sensed the fail of a joke. "Already tried, it didn't work very well…it seems that getting his ass kicked doesn't make him any less annoying."

So I guess it isn't me then, Sahib thought. He felt better about that, but he still felt that she was hiding something and it was bugging him to no end. "So…I tried to battle Whitney today, but I guess something happened to her Pokémon," Sahib commented. "They said they were really hurt. That'd be terrible, to see your Pokémon like that," he muttered. He thought about the Umbreon's shriek momentarily.

What she said next surprised him. "There's something bothering you. What is it?" She was rather forward, but he figured that he probably deserved it.

Sahib looked at the ground. Do I tell her about Umbreon? He wondered. Or the fact my dad was a Rocket member? "Aerodactyl went…a little too far. And I let it. He snapped an Umbreon's spine and I let him," Sahib muttered, deciding against telling her about his father. He guessed she'd probably think he was terrible and never want to talk to him again.

Her tone was softened now. "That's terrible, but it's not your fault. You shouldn't blame yourself for this, even if you did let it…" Lili paused, appearing to try to find the proper words. "Well, there must have been a reason. Whatever you are thinking, Sahib, you are not evil." He glanced at her, vaguely wondering what she would know about being evil. "Whatever happened, it happened. There's nothing you can do about it and it will do you no good to sulk about it."

Sahib walked right up to her then. She looked up at him. Sahib set one hand on her shoulder, and then slowly began to walk by. "Then maybe," he muttered as he went, "no one's truly evil." He spared a glance at her, and then continued walking. Sahib hadn't really intended to leave so quickly, but—though her words were comforting—he felt no sense in continuing the awkward conversation. "Bye," he murmured before walking out the door.

Liliana was in quite the rush to leave the room. She had no desire whatsoever to stay and chit chat. Instead she asked the Nurse to heal her Pokémon and sat in the lobby waiting for them to be in top condition. She purposely avoided any human contact, mostly with mr. Cloak or Sahib. As soon as Nurse Joy waved her over she grabbed her Pokémon and was out the door. Yes she may be acting a bit skittish, but she wasn't sure if she could handle seeing either of them.

It seemed getting into the Gym alone was not going to be that easy. Her path was blocked by a big man who she had no desire to antagonize. He told her with a deep and rough voice that Whitney was not taking any more challenges, easy as that. She was about to turn away when the Cloaked Man's voice came into her head again. Say this and exactly this. Darkness has a way of keeping the dead alive.

She silently wished he'd stop doing that, it freaked her out, and then she wished that he couldn't actually read her mind. But either way she repeated the phrase and the man wordlessly stepped aside to let her pass. The gym itself was definitely something. The entire area was white, except for the colourful flowers strewn here and everywhere. It looked chaotic, but also quite nice.

"Well, hi there cutey!" Lili turned around to see an older woman with completely straight pink hair. Well faded it almost looked, but it was still pink. The gymleaders in this region had odd hair. She was an outfit that was entirely pink and white. "You're here a little late aren't you? I guess you must be one of those eager beavers looking for a battle." Liliana was too stunned to say anything when she winked at her. What was with people winking too?!

"All my other Pokemon are exhausted from a long day of battling so I'm sorry to say I will be using my strongest Pokemon against you if you don't mind!" She pulls out two balls and starts this eeny meenie thing to choose which one to take out. Finally she seems to decide which one to choose and out comes a cat-like Pokémon. Liliana recognized it as a Delcatty.

She herself decided to start with Djali. Out of the ball came the black and blue feline with her new mane of black hair. She seemed to like her new grow spurt because she eagerly charged up the electricity inside her. This Luxio was ready to party.

"Delcatty, start with faint attack." Whitney's confidence in her Pokémon was quite evident in her voice, but Lili could play too. "Djali, dodge and then use Spark." Delcatty approached Djali, who jumped out of the way of the attack, but in at the last moment Delcatty changed direction and hit Djali in the stomach. Djali ate the dust of the floor quite painfully and almost literally.
Djali got herself together and up again however and sent a small beam of electricity toward Delcatty, but the feline just dodged and waited for a command of Whitney's. "Delcatty, use faint attack again." She seemed almost bored already. Liliana was determined not to lose. "Djali I want you to bite!"

Once again Delcatty advanced, obviously aiming for Djali's head. She whirled around to bite her opponent but Delcatty used the same trick, switching directions and in the and knocked Djali down again. If this was how it was going to go, it might very well prove to be a short match. But the ding inside Liliana's brain was almost audible as she got an idea. Whitney's voice echoed across the room. "Come on young lady, you can do better than this!"

Whitney asked her Delcatty once again to use faint attack, she probably thought that it was an easy way to secure a hit every time. "Djali, use charge and uncharged exactly when I tell you to." Djali started creating electricity and waited patiently for Lili's mark. In the mean time Delcatty jumped toward Djali's side, and just at the last moment switched direction. "NOW!" Liliiana shouted and Djali let go of all of her built up electricity. The Dellcatty that had been very] close to contact immediately got shocked. The attack seem very affective,

"Delcatty, use wish." Whitney still sounded calm, yet no so bored anymore. The Dellcatty got surrounded by a light aura as it closed its eyes in concentration. When it opened them, however, nothing seemed to have changed. "Delcatty, now use faint attack again!"

"Djali, I want you to grab hold of the tail somehow, okay?" Djali nodded and before Delcatty could do its funky feint Djali shot forward and clamped her teeth down on the cat's tail. Delcatty tried to struggle to make Djali let go, but she wouldn't budge. "Now use spark!" Djali released the electricity and it shot through Delcatty, leaving it panting and tired. Then something that she didn't foresee happened. Well two things actually.

First there was the glowing light again, and in mere seconds Delcatty regained just about half of the energy she had lost. The next was a command: "Dellcatty use copycat." Who knew that Whitney would manage to use the stone grasp that Djali possessed to her advantage? Delcatty suddenly whipped out her own spark attack, hurting Djali so much that she had to let go. Djali was unable to continue.

Liliana asked Djali to return and sent out the next Pokémon, namely Nala. "Nala, start with a poison powder!" Nala ran toward Delcatty in the mean time she released her own poison. Delcatty quickly jumped away however, and stayed clear of the poisoned area. "Delcatty, use copy cat again." Delcatty now released her own poison, little did it know that it work against it. Delcatty made the mistake of inhaling its own poison, and since it was never supposed to be able to emit poison in the first place, the only thing it managed to so was poison itself. Nala was immune to her own poison, which Delcatty pretty much copied.

"Well. That didn't work very well," Whitney laughed at her won mistake before asking Delcatty for another wish. Lili knew what said wish did, however, and was determined not to let her go through with it this time. "Nala, I want you to tackle Delcatty to the ground, NOW!" Nala rushed toward the feline and threw her weight into knocking the thing down. Delcatty hit the ground painfully with Nala on top of her, there was a downside to this move, it also hurt Nala as they both came crashing down. Fortunately, the move's goal had been reached, Delcatty was down. One more to go.

"Nicely done!" Whitney squealed in her high voice as she returned Delcatty and sent out Miltank. "You might beat me yet!" Liliana hoped she would too, but Whitney's expression told her that she would be excited even if she lost.

"Miltank use rollout!" Miltank curled into a ball and started rolling toward Nala at high speed. She didn't have time to jump away and as the Miltank hit her it bounced into the air and back away again. But as it landed it just continued to roll and once again approached Nala.

"Nala, it's going to get stronger with every hit, that is why we need to stop it. Even though its rolling it's rolling it still needs to breathe, use poison powder!" Nala waited until the Miltank for close and released some more poison built up in the oversized buds around her neck. Miltank slowed down a little when it breathed in the poison, and was obviously affected by it, but it continued rolling and hit Nala again. It almost seemed like it couldn't stop rolling, even if it were poisoned like it was.

"Nala I want you to use magical leaf, try to stop it from rolling," Lili was growing a bit anxious now. Nala released her leaves but as they hit Miltank they didn't seem to do any damage, and it still continued rolling. For the third time in a row Nala was hit, and the damage was getting worse and worse. Nala was breathing heavily now, but the Miltank just kept going and going.

In a last attempt to stop it Liliana did something truly desperate. "Nala I want you to tackle Miltank, throw your weight against it to stop it like you did with Delcatty!" Liliana mentally crossed her fingers. If this didn't work Nala was finished. Nala threw herself at the rolling Miltank. The impact threw them both so hard they each landed on opposite walls. Nala was done for, but Miltank got to its feet unsteadily. That really had been a very tough blow.

With some soothing words Liliana called her Pokémon back and this time, hopefully to finish it off, she sent out Sarabi. The shiny Absol seemed to make Whitney's eyes twinkle. "Look at that, the Absol is pink!" She practically squealed with delight. "Well the cuteness of that Absol, no matter how creepy those Absols can be, it is not going to keep me from trying to beat you!" Liliana had to admit she liked the fact that Whitney wasn't cocky like the other leaders had been. "Yes, let's get this over with shall we." Lili smiled at the leader as Whitney nodded back."

"Miltank, use rollout again," Miltank rolled like a ball again and gave Sarabi no time to evade. But Lili had her tricks as well. "Quick Sarabi, while the Miltank is still away from you, use razor wind!" Sarabi charged up her scythe and it was ready just in time. The Miltank was now alarmingly close. The crescents of energy hit it, but didn't stop it. She did for the first time see that the attack affected it. Maybe that was why Miltank was so tired after being thrown against the wall, maybe the magical leaf had done something!

But as always it continued rolling and hit Sarabi with a strengthened force this time. Liliana had to think of something to stop it, and she had to do so now. Then she got it, another dnig inside her brain.

"Sarabi, I want you to let it come near you, side-step it and then use pursuit!" Sarabi was smart and got it instantly. She waited patiently for the Miltank to get close then Sarabi jumped out of the way and instantly ran after Miltank. Even with her speed it was difficult to keep up with the rolling cow, but surrounded in a dark aura Sarabi managed to hit it right in the back. The Miltank instantly got out of its roll and got thrown to the ground. "Sarabi, now quickly use quick attack!" Sarabi followed the path in which Miltank had flown through the air and attacked it so abruptly that it flew into the air again and crashed into the wall. Whitney gasped audibly as the Miltank slid down, completely unconscious and in bad shape.

Whitney rushed to recall it and quickly closed the space between her and Liliana. "Here is the badge, dear, you deserved it fully. Now excuse me but my Pokémon need tending, you really hit them hard." There was actually a worried look in her eyes as she said this. Well I guess mission accomplished. "It's okay, Whitney, I understand. I will show myself out." With that she excited the gym.

When she stepped outside it was dark already. There were lots of lights in this big city where buildings were everywhere and lanterns were also above the street, but she still felt uneasy. Hence the reason she jumped when she heard a voice behind her. "I would watch out if I were you."

She turned around to see Tristan. For once he didn't have his cloak on, he was wearing ordinary jeans with an open blue shirt and a white muscle-tee underneath. She had seen his face before, but it had always been kind of overshadowed by the hood. Now she saw that he had straight blonde hair that was a bit messy in an attractive kind of way that looked even blonder under the street light. She had also never had a good look of his eyes before and now she noticed they were actually a stunning grayish blue.

That in combination of his quite obviously nice body made him.. well.. hot. Liliana really hated to think of him that way, but she couldn't help it. He was attractive. But that didn't make his personality any more so. That would be, if he didn't have a surprisingly gentle expression on his face. Not amused or irritating, almost worried.

"What are you doing, creeping up on me like that?" She snapped at him, partially to hide the fact that she was a bit taken aback by his actual appearance. She had expected a kind of loserish guy that didn't have anything better to do than be a jerk. Someone who would fall for darkness easily. But this guy was rather pale with blonde hair. How far from dark could he get? She couldn't help but think he was opposite of Sahib's dark looks.

"I just came to warn you," he sounded very sincere. This worried Lili, what could be so serious? "Once you get in, you can't get out you know." He looked around nervously as if afraid they were being overheard. By who she didn't know. "Look, you might want to rethink your options. You're young and… Well…"

"You're not that older than I am!" She snapped back. This was true he was 17 at most. He still didn't take the bait, but he didn't look at her with pity like the man he called Johannes had done. He was still worried. "that's not what I mean. I had no choice, you have. You obviously have heard of Bugsy by now. You can still leave, under the protection of the Clan of Hope. You could do it."

"Why do you want me to leave so badly?!" Her stubbornness was acting up and she couldn't help it. "I have no desire whatsoever to leave. This is what I chose, Tristan, and I am not turning my back on the Brotherhood." She said this with more certainty than she felt.

He nodded weakly and half-smiled. "Well, Anna, I will see you later than. I was merely telling you that you had a choice, but I see this is what you want." There he went again with his normal attitude. Lili wished he'd stop calling her Anna, but she knew he wouldn't anyway. For a second the expression went back to concern. "Watch out tonight, will you?"

She had no idea what he meant but she nodded in agreement. "Well, see you Coconut!" Oh great, a new nickname. She smiled at him with venom before he retreated back into the shadows and she walked back to the Center.

There she sneaked up the stairs, being careful to be as quiet as possible before quietly entering her room. She changed quickly into her bright orange sleep shirt. It was big enough to be called a nightgown. She crawled in bad thinking about what the Man in Black had said, and what Tristan had said. With such thoughts on her mind she drifted off into dreamland..

Suddenly Lili's bed replaced itself by, well, not a bed. She felt like she was outside, there was some wind and it was completely dark. She heard footsteps but it was too dark to see anything. This was giving her the creeps, really bad. She was starting to panic when an enormous light turned on. In front of her was a person.

The first thing she noticed was the mask. It was a venetian style mask that covered the entire face except for the eyes, and the surface was a very light golden colour. The lips were painted a strange orange-golden and there was a border of gold all around the mask. The most beautiful about it was what was around the eyes. In the place where a normal mask would be, one that would only cover the area of the eyes and part of the nose, was painted white also. It looked like a mask on a mask.

On the gold inside the area around the eyes someone painted delicate swirls. No not swirls, they looked more like vines, with little leaves sprouting from them. The odd thing about it was that some of them went past the silver border of the 'second mask' onto the light main mask. The longer she looked at the mask the more it seemed that the vines were growing out onto the lighter surface. And the most chilling aspect of the mask… Out of one of the holes of the mask came a black line, a tear. The line stopped a little below the cheekbone. Liliana shuddered at the sight of the beautiful, but strangely haunting mask.

The cloak the stranger was wearing seemed to be entirely black, but when the light shined on it right it seemed to be a darker orange instead. The person seemed to be rather short, but the cloak hid everything else. All she could see were dark brown eyes. She couldn't even determine if it were male or female. Suddenly another light came on over a cage. A high scream echoed all around Liliana.

"ROSE!"
Lili tried to run toward the cage but the stranger laughed and blocked her path. It took out a completely black Pokéball. Shadow leaked out of it and from it came a strange creature, not a Pokémon Lili could place. But whatever it was, it would have to be beat. "I'm coming for you Rose!" She yelled but her sister only scrambled to the farthest corner of the cage and whimpered.

"Go Nala, use magical leaf!" The moment Nala touched the ground the creature opposite her turned into a Bayleef as well. Except that all her colours were different. The leaves seemed to be gray and dead and the body of this Bayleef was a grayish version of green. The moment Nala released her magical leaf, the creature did as well. The creature's cut straight through Nala's and hit her painfully.

:Nala, use tackle!" Nala dashed forward but the other Bayleef just dodged it and hit Nala in the side. Nalal cried out in pain, but she got up bravely. "Nala use poison powder!" Before Nala could release hers the Bayleef slammed into her again and she got knocked to the side hard. "Nala, come back! Abu take it down!" Tears were burning in Lili's eyes now. She had to save Rose! She had to!

"Abu use fire punch!" The moment she thought that Abu would hit a strange Bayleef, the creature morphed into an Aipom itself. The colours were morphed again, this time the purple had become almost completely black and its belly was a dull gray. It sidestepped the fire punch easily and started knocked the life out of Abu with a fury swipes. After that it used one fire punch and hit Abu straight in the head, he was down.

"ABU!" there was a snicker from the opposite of the room. "What is so damn funny?!" Liliana yelled in rage as she now released Misdreavous. Naturally the creature changed into one itself, but this one was almost completely black, with strange green ends where the purple was supposed to be.

Before Misdreavous could do anything a psywave came his direction and he cried out in pain as it hit him. "Misdreavous, use astonish!" Misdreavous disappeared and appeared where the creature had been. Had been because the moment misdreavous reappeared the creature did the same trick and ended up behind Misdreavous instead. It hit her with the beam of energy and once again Misdreavous cried out in pain. The creature's eyes lit up in what Lili assumed to be a spite and her Misdreavous cried out in fear. Liliana quickly called her back. This wasn't doing anything good.

"You see how weak you are?" The voice behind the mask was muffled, but it had the high pitch of a female behind it. "You can't even handle your own Pokémon. You do not have what it takes to protect those you love. You're weak!"

"I AM NOT WEAK!" Lili screeched it at the woman in the mask, but it didn't faze her one bit. Liliana almost felt her blood boil a the sight of her. And of Rose cowering in that corner. More tears welled up, but she was determine to them back, she wouldn't give this monster the satisfaction of seeing her cry!

"Djali!" She sounded and felt desperate. Her Pokémon were running out, she had to beat him, she just had to. There was no other choice. Rose.. "Djali, use spark!" Djali ran toward the creature, which had now morphed into a dark Luxio. The creature used a spark of its own and the two electrical attacks collided, there was an explosion as both of the creatures were thrown back. Liliana couldn't help but smile, it was the first time she had been able to harm the creature.

The creature stood up and charged at Djali now. "Djali, avoid it and use bite!" Djali did as she was asked, she jumped away from the Luxio and bit it in the neck. It was the Luxio's turn to cry out in pain this time. But Liliana wasn't done. No they would pay, both of them would pay for what they did to Rose.

"Djali use spark on full voltage!" Djali once again did what she was asked. The sparks flew everywhere as she kept her teeth in the Luxio's neck and electrocuted it at full force. Thre was even a slight burning smell around. The creature tried to shake Djali off, but she wouldn't budge and just poured more and more electricity into it. The other Luxio yowled in pain before its legs collapsed under it. Still Djali continued until there was no more spark inside her body. She then slowly let go, panting from the effort.

Liliana ran toward the cage, and the trainer didn't seem to move to stop her. Just before she'd pass the stranger she stopped and pulled off the mask. What she saw made her gasp in shock. She was looking into her own brown eyes. The face was her face, with the familiar dark skin, the familiar mouth, nose, eyes, hair. The person was her. The oly thing that wasn't her was the smile. The other her was smiling at her in such a way that all Lili could do was stare. A laugh escape from the other her and Lili pulled away from the thing and ran toward the cage.

"ROSE!" But Rose was trying to pull herself into the corner as far as she could. Her face portrayed her emotions and they all said fear. If she could have melted through the bars she would have. "Rose?" Tears streamed from Liliana's eyes now as she watched her own sister shy away from her like a mouse from a cat. Liliana kept muttering her sister's name as more tears escaped.

She felt her knees buckle underneath her and couldn't do anything but shake and cry. That was when a cold voice echoed around. "ENOUGH!" Everything faded around her, the cage, her sister, the other hear. She eyesight was blurry with tears but she could see that she was inside the Center. Except a broken Pokémon Center. There were four Hypno around her. Anger replaced the feeling of shock.

She glared at the Man in Black. He just smiled at her. "Another test you passed with flying colours! They other trainers are currently.. distraced.. and they won't notice that you're gone… As you can see the Pokémon Center isn't… what it used to be.." There was a twinkle in his eye as he said this and laughed. "Try best not to stick out, alright?" She glared up at him and a smile played on his face. "Is there something wrong Liliana?" He asked. He knew damned well what was wrong. But she just smiled sweetly at him and answered. "No, nothing at all."

He snaps his fingers and she was now in front of the burning center, still in her oversized t-shirt, with her belongs in front of her. She gathered them up when she heard a voice behind her.

"It seems there has been an attempt on our lives tonight. We must work quicker to figure this out… Come, we have been invited to stay at Bill's for the rest of the night. In the morning you will continue your mission and training." She kept her face hidden and quickly whipped the tears off of her face. She hoped it wasn't too obvious she had cried and she kept her head down as she followed them to Bill's house.

An older man in his Pajamas greets them. "Welcome Clan of Hope, please follow me. I a Bill, the PC inventor, I am glad to have you stay with me for the night." He was a nice man and he smiled at everyone. He led them all to their rooms, one for the boys and one for the girls. This meant she only shared her room with one other person. She quietly walked to a bed and curled herself up under the comfortable sheets.

She thought of the Brotherhood, of what Tristan said. He said she could still leave. But she really couldn't. How would she explain it to everyone? That she chose the Brotherhood? Everyone would be deeply disappointed in her. She didn't even want to think about what Sahib would think. What Elm would think. Had he noticed she hadn't been there? Did he notice that she was acting different? She was no longer thinking of Elm when she thought this. She didn't think she had any more water in her body to create tears, but apparently there was one more that crept over her cheek. A distant thought told her that it came from the exact eye the the tear from the mask had come from. It stopped a little under her cheekbone. With this she fell asleep.

"Everyone, before we get into the meeting, I would like you to meet Lucas, he is a pokemon trainer and seems to be caught in the middle of everything, so I have made him an honorary Dex Holder", Elm says, introducing Lucas, who gives a quick to the rest of the group. Krad follows Lucas's motion, before leaning against his side, once again. Then, before Lucas had enough time to even yawn, the old professor hurried everyone into another room, likely a meeting room, Lucas guessed.

As everyone took their seats, Lucas and Krad opted to stay standing, leaning against the wall for comfort. It's not like I had a choice anyways, all the damn seats were taken…Lucas's attention was converted from the seating problem, to a group of elderly people in the front, six, if Lucas had any skills counting. These people, they look like they've gone through stuff like the rest of us, but on a whole other scale. That, and why else would Elm have them here if they didn't have anything to do with these problems?

As Elm walks to the front of the room, he begins speaking, "First off, we have some bad news…Bugsy has been found outside of the Ilex Forest…he was murdered", he says while looking to the ground, upset. It must've been that cloaked guy! Dammit, I wonder, if I would've joined his little moron group, would he've spared Bugsy? Probably not, Lucas thought angrily. And, looking around at the others in the group, it seemed they shared similar thoughts. Kneeling down, Lucas whispered to Krad, "Next time we see that guy, let's get him good. For Bugsy…", Krad nodded, his feelings were the same as well. Standing back up, Lucas was just in time to see an older lady stand, getting ready to speak, it seemed.

"Everyone, this here is Angela Taveres, as most of you can tell by the last name, this is Cairne's grandmother", Elm said, quick in the introduction. Who the hell is Cairne? Must be another one of the guys in here, Lucas sighed, it was a pain not knowing anyone. Nobody had even bothered with even a friendly wave. I guess they have a right not to care, looks like they're taking this business as serious as I've ever seen from people their age…I must just be an afterthought, heh

"Seeing you young trainers reminds me of when I was younger. Though I faced much worse, it's good that you are here today", she said before taking a seat. Heh, normally I wouldn't believe a word of that, but she definitely has seen worse than I have, bleh. As the next man stood, Elm introduced him as Grecko Rage.

"I'm glad to see everyone has made it here safely", the man said, before sitting down again, a stern expression on his face. As Elm centered himself again, another man stood. He looked to be the same age as the others who had spoken already, early 60's, by Lucas's judgment. In addition to being quite a bit shorter than Lucas, his messy dark hair, coupled with a very sinister grin, gave the impression that this man wasn't interested in the same exact goals of everyone else. In fact, probably the complete opposite, Lucas thought grimly. Elm introduced him as Shaun Tess.

"Well…Yeah, congrats on getting here", he said, before sitting back down. This guy has something about him…I don't trust him, Lucas ponders, before redirecting his attention to Elm and another man standing. Lucas didn't quite catch his name, but apparently he was also one of Cairne's grandparents.

"Welcome everyone", he said before taking his seat once more. As the next man stands, Lucas couldn't help but see him in a different light, This guy…Where've I seen him before…Ah! I know, it's--

"Lance, former Kanto League Champion", Lucas heard Elm say. I knew it! This guy is one tough trainer! I remember all those specials they had on tv about him! He's definitely someone to look up to, Lucas thinks, all while admiring the former champion. Krad looks up to Lucas, and sighs. His trainer was doing something weird again. No one else seemed to notice, but the two of them had a bond that, understandably, no one else in the room had with him, so it was only natural Krad would be the only one to recognize Lucas's expressions.

"Hmph, I can sense some of you feel unsure about things right now", Lance says, before sitting back down. Geez, he could sense that? Awesome…Lucas sighs again. Krad sighs at his trainer's sighing, while rubbing his forehead. As Elm moves to the front again, Lucas notices an elderly lady begin to stand. Her outfit seems peculiar to Lucas; a bright set of clothing with lightning bolts scattered about in somewhat random positions.

"Everyone, this is Sly. The last remaining Kanto beginning trainer, from the same year as Beo and Zypher", Elm says, pausing to allow it to sink in. Looking around, Lucas sees that everyone wears some form of shock on their face, more or less, and can't help but get more confused. Krad seems to share the same thoughts as Lucas, scratching the back of his head in an "I don't get it" kind of way.

"It is my pleasure to be here with you all today", she pauses, taking a second to breathe, "Standing in front of you, are the last remaining heroes of the past, and members of the Clan of Hope, the group that fought against Beo and his Dark Brotherhood. That, is why you are all here", Sly pauses again, and Lucas can tell she definitely hadn't aged well. Continuing, "We believe that the current situation in Johto is the result of a resurrected Dark Brotherhood. Who is behind it, we currently don't know…As for what his plans are, all we can say is that it is not good for Johto, or the world", she says pausing again. "Today is will be known as--", Today is will be? Clearly her mental health is going down the drain, Lucas couldn't help but think, "--surrect the Clan of Hope, and fight back…You have done your jobs thus far, which is why we are now giving you this information", she says as she looks to Mr. Rage, who stands up.

Pulling out a picture of a small fairy like pokemon, "This here, is Celebi, the time travel pokemon. In my day, I made very close friends with her, and til this day, we have shared a bond…A few nights ago, the bond vanished, I can no longer feel her presence in Johto…A part of me fears that the Dark Brotherhood is going to use her to find Giratina and Darkrai's pokeballs…Then they will unleash the darkness, once again", he pauses, allowing the group to soak in this mass of information.

Cairne's grandfather stands up, "In other words, we must not fail to find and stop this new leader of the Dark Brotherhood, whoever he is…he mustn't be allowed to find those pokeballs", he says, finishing as Lance stands up.

"The best thing for all of you to do right now is continue with your gym battles, we will work on locating this new threat…Once we know something, we shall contact you. Just keep your guards up…", he says, as Shaun adds, "Yes, don't not let your guards down for one moment, the darkness works in mysterious ways, we wouldn't want any of you to get lost in it", he finishes with a smirk. Okay, seriously. This guy is not only twisted, but now illiterate? "Don't not", pshh. This guy has all the qualities of the cloaked guy. I refuse to trust him, Lucas sighs, irked at Shaun's behavior. Luckily Sly stands up again, stealing Lucas's attention from Shaun.

"Well, I'd say go get a good nights rest, and go for the next gym badge bright and early. This is your first mission as a member of the Clan of Hope: To get the gym badge, and protect Whitney", she says, dismissing the meeting.

Dutchesse: Awesome post! Nala grew to lvl 33! Djali grew to lvl 28 (also did you evolve him into a luxio?) Abu grew to lvl 27! Misdrevous grew to lvl 24!Misdreavus wants to learn psybeam delete a move to make room?

TSukuyomi: Good post! Nice touch of humor, especially with my grammar error for Slys speech XD!

As the meeting was dismissed, Lucas watched as the others in the group made their way over to the seniors of the Clan of Hope, apparently eager for some conversation. He watched one girl's Croconaw, and after a few words with Shaun, the Croconaw promptly clamped down on his arm, Heh, way to go Croconaw! Deciding that it'd be a good time to get in a talk with Lance, Lucas began walking towards the former champion, only to be cut off by one of the guys in the group. He seemed pretty intent on talking to Lance, so Lucas turned and left the room quietly, Damn him. I wanted to talk to Lance…

Exiting into the lobby, Lucas approached the front desk, and left his pokemon with the resident Nurse Joy, who told him that his pokemon would finish healing in a bit, while handing him his room key. Thanking her, Lucas wandered around the halls until finally finding his room.

"Huh, this room is pretty cozy…Oh! There's even a fridge, annnnnnd…YES! It has the goodies! There IS an upside to being in the company of Lance, and boy is it a great one!", Lucas grins widely as he surveys the various food items in the fridge. Now, Twix, or Starburst…Hm, I know Krad likes Twix, but Spade and Lavitz like Starburst…Agh, I can't decide. So, I'll just take three of each. That outta cover me for a while!

Lucas grins happily as he removes the snacks from the fridge, seting them on the bed, which was nice and comfy, making Lucas all the more happy he helped the professor with his papers. Oh crap, it's been a while now, Nurse Joy probably has my pokemon waiting for me in the lobby! Snacks, stay where you are! Lucas hurriedly puts his shoes back on, and jogs to the lobby. Once there, he finds Krad leaning on the front desk, with Spade and Lavitz's pokeballs in hand(s?).

"Ah. Good to see you're all better now, Krad. But, let's hurry back to the room, I found Twix in the fridge!", Lucas exclaims excitedly. He watches as Krad's expression goes from one of tiredness, to the same expression Lucas wore. Without further ado, the duo set off towards the room once again.

Once the door had been locked, Krad and Lucas hurriedly jumped on the bed, eager to devour the goodies awaiting. And devour the goodies, they did. Lucas had to practically hold down Krad from eating the other two Twix, while Krad himself had to hold down Lucas from eating the other two Starburst.

"Thanks for that Krad, we wouldn't want to waste Spade and Lavitz's goodies, in fact, let's get them out here!", Lucas yawned a bit, before dropping the two pokeballs on the ground, Lavitz and Spade appearing in the standard flash of light. Both pokemon yawned lightly, before noticing the Starburst held in each hand of Lucas's. Lavitz snagged the snack from Lucas with his wings, while Spade snatched his with his trunk. "Aren't you gonna get rid of the wrap--", Lucas tried asking, before both pokemon consumed the Starburst, wrapper and all, "Guess not…Oh well, I'm getting kind of tired. I'll go to sleep now. When you two get tired, you know how to get back in the pokeball, right?", Lucas asked the two consuming pokemon. They nodded, distractedly. Lucas promptly removed his shirt, and climbed under the covers, tired.

I hope you guys all sleep well…Zzzzz

"Wahh, what's happ-en-ing?", Lucas asks loudly, as he feels the ground shake violently, knocking over several objects in the room, before the door comes off the hinges, and reveals a hallway filled with flames! Krad quickly hops onto the bed, shaking Lucas repeatedly until he gets out of the bed, pulls his shirt back on, puts his shoes on, then quickly exit's the room with Krad following right behind. What HAPPENED? Why is the Pokemon Center being attacked? Agh, I hope everyone else is fine!

Exiting the building, Lucas turns to find that it is completely engulfed in flames, and is burning to the ground rapidly. Feeling a quick jab in the side, Lucas turns to see Krad staring down a group of men cloaked in white. Them?! They did this? I'll get them…Lucas thinks as one approaches him. Looking around, he notices several more are engaging other members of the group in much the same way.

"If you want a fight, then follow me! Come on, Krad!", Lucas yells angrily at the cloaked guy, before running off behind the burning Pokemon Center. "Krad, get the Leaf Blade variant ready!", Lucas says as he runs, finally stopping a few yards later.

"What's the matter, kid? Sca--", The man taunts, but is cut off as Lucas orders Krad to attack. "You little cheat! You don't even wait for me to send out a pokemon? Umbreon, come out now!", the cloaked man hurls a pokeball outwards, spawning a small dark pokemon with golden rings at various points on his body. The Umbreon is quite unprepared for the immediate assault by Krad, and is slashed up several times before flying backwards, clearly injured, but nowhere near knocked out.

As the Umbreon was recovering from the sudden assault, Lucas took the opportunity to scan it with his pokedex.

Umbreon, The Moonlight Pokemon

When exposed to the moon's aura, the rings on it's body glow faintly and it gains a mysterious power.

Male-Level 26

Quick Attack, Pursuit

Tackle, Tail Whip

As Lucas looked up from his pokedex, he gasped when he realized the moon was out, and Umbreon's rings were glowing faintly. "Ah, Krad, don't take it lightly! The moon is out, so it's stronger than usual! Hurry, Quick Attack!", Lucas called desperately.

Laughing slightly, the cloaked man said, "So, you've noticed then. When Umbreon is exposed to moonlight his defenses rise, meaning you won't get the chance to beat him! Quick Attack as well!", Umbreon shot forward in a burst of black light, strangely. And Krad followed the motion, shooting towards the dark type leaving the standard trail of white light. As both pokemon collided, Umbreon was shot back once again, having the smaller body mass of the two. However, he quickly regained his stance, looking nearly unaffected by the attack. Krad grunted at the sight, and launched into another Quick Attack by himself.

"Krad, this guy's dangerous! You need to wait for the order, or we'll have even more difficulty! Come on, listen to me! Use your sword to vault into the air, and then Pound him!", Lucas yelled. Krad glanced back at Lucas, before nodding. Stabbing his leaf sword into the ground, combined with the momentum of the Quick Attack, sent Krad flying into the sky. Raising a fist, Krad fell from the sky going in for a Pound, while Umbreon was surrounded by dark energy, shooting towards Krad in a Pursuit attack. This time however, Krad couldn't come out of the encounter victorious. A fist just can't hold back an entire body. Krad was repelled back into the air, and fell quickly at Lucas's feet. Lucas attempted to run towards him, but Krad grunted a "no", and Lucas stopped, his pokemon was determined and Lucas wasn't about to let him down. The Grovyle jumped to his feet, and took a deep breathe, then Screeched for all he was worth. Lucas held his head in pain, as the Umbreon crumpled to the ground, unable to do much in the face of the sound waves penetrating his head. Krad grinned then dashed towards the fallen Umbreon, Pounding it repeatedly into the ground before hopping backwards, waiting for it to stand.

When it finally stood, it looked like the Pounding had finally taken a toll, and the Umbreon was panting heavily.

"Umbreon, you're pathetic if you can't take a simple pounding! Get it with a Quick Attack!", the cloaked man told his pokemon viciously. Umbreon barked angrily, then the next thing Krad knew Umbreon had just connected with his gut in a strong Quick Attack. Gritting his teeth, Lucas ordered a Leaf Blade. Regaining his footing, the injured Krad failed to pull a sword out, and instead just allowed the arm blade to form. Running with his body low to the ground, it was clear Krad was going for a ground-up slash.

"Umbreon, dodge it now!", the cloaked guy yelled angrily. The Umbreon lost his focus on the battle temporarily to bark at his trainer. Those few seconds he took to bark provided Krad the time to close in, and Umbreon flew into the air, and soon after, Krad joined him in the air, and kicked it viciously into the flames of the Pokemon Center. The Umbreon cried out in pain, and Lucas couldn't help but feel sorry for it.

"Damn Umbreon! Get back here! Go, Loudred!", Umbreon was recalled quickly, much to Lucas's relief, and out came a strange purple pokemon with a large mouth and ears that resembled speakers mildly.

"I don't even want to know what that thing is! But it looks like Spade will be a good match for it!", Lucas called, throwing a pokeball, revealing the tusked member of his team. Krad took the hint and retreated to Lucas's side. I'm sorry Krad, but when you get like that, you get dangerous to everyone around you…good thing you fainted it quickly.

"Spade, Roll Out!", The Donphan curled into a ball and trampled everything in his path, before reaching the Loudred, who was fearfully watching Spade close in. It apparently had a fear of spinning things.

"Dammit, I never got that kink worked out. Not in all the time I've had this pathetic excuse for a pokemon! Bite it!", Loudred momentarily overcame his fear, and latched onto the incoming Donphan. It seemed as though the Loudred had stopped Spade in his tracks, but then the fear returned, and his grip weakened. Spade roared angrily at being stopped, and slammed the Loudred with Take Down. The Loudred roared out a Howl, and when he stood up, he was looking significantly more confident. "Loudred, Super Sonic!", the cloaked man called. Loudred complied, shooting sound waves from his ears/speakers towards Spade. The attack hit him head on, and soon, the Donphan was wobbling like a drunk.

"Ahhh, come on Spade, you can get through it! Roll Out!", Lucas ordered loudly, making sure Spade heard him clearly. Spade shakily nodded, and rolled up and out, swerving violently, before rolling straight past the terrified Loudred, and smashing into a large tree directly behind. The Loudred cautiously looked around, before finding it's opponent slumped next to the tree it had plowed into, and laughing hard. Spade hardly thought it was funny, and smacked the tree hard with his trunk. And, as an unexpected side effect, the tree came toppling down on top of Loudred, who freaked out a bit, before moving quite slowly out of the way. Well, mostly out of the way. The tree landed on the Loudred's lower half, causing the cloaked trainer to recall the Loudred due to the injury the tree inflicted.

"You brat! Go, Gliscor!", the man threw another pokeball out, and a purple, freaky looking pokemon materialized in the air above the cloaked man's head.

"Urgh, Spade, return! Lavitz, it's your turn!", Lucas hurriedly called. "Lavitz, Twister! Then Sand Attack!", Lavitz complied and flapped up a twister, then flew close to the ground and repeatedly smacked dust into the twister, making it more sandy colored and dusty. As the attack came near to hitting the Gliscor, it responded with fading away into the night, then reappearing behind Lavitz, clawing him in the back. Faint Attack. I've never liked Faint Attacks, they're so annoying! "Lavitz, Quick Attack, don't let it use that attack again!", Lucas ordered.

Speeding towards the Gliscor, Lavitz smacked it, effectively slapping it, and down it came. Lavitz quickly followed up with a Twister, engulfing Gliscor, and battering it several times before the attack subsided.

"Sand Attack!", Lavitz flew down to the ground again, and shot a pile of dirt at the Gliscor's eyes. Lavitz's opponent turned his head ever so slightly, and the sand only barely missed one eye. Tch, oh well. I've got one eye, that should disorient it pretty badly…Lucas called for a Twister, and the Pidgeotto whipped up the wind in a hurry.

"Faint Attack, again!", Gliscor grunted and faded to nothing quickly. Reappearing behind Lavitz once again, it seemed like it would be a repeat of the first time. However, as the Gliscor swung his arm, the attack went right to the left of it's intended target! It looks like the sand is really screwing with his eyes, this is perfect!

"Lavitz, use Quick Attack, and smash it into the ground!", Lucas called. Lavitz nodded, and shot towards the disoriented Gliscor, crashing into the pokemon's mid region, but Lavitz didn't stop there, he continued pushing until Gliscor smashed into the ground, knocked out cold.

"Tch! You got lucky kid! This isn't the last time you'll see me!", the man called as he returned his fallen pokemon to the pokeball, before running off.

"Lavitz, good job. Come back, and take a good rest", Lucas sighed, returning the Pidgeotto to his pokeball. "Let's go, Krad. We should help put out the fire", with that, Lucas and Krad jogged around the building, and saw that everyone else had finished their battles. And, much to his relief, the senior members of the Clan of Hope were finishing putting out the fire, Lucas wouldn't have to do anything. It was then that he realized there were some people missing from the group, along with the absence of Shaun.

Once the fire had been taken care of, Grecko moved to a spot where everyone could see, and said, "It seems there has been an attempt on our lives tonight…We must work quicker to figure this out…Come now, we have been invited to stay at Bill's house for the remainder of the night. In the morning you will continue your mission and training", he finishes, then leads the group down the street a bit, and around a few blocks. When the group arrives, Lucas notices a man standing at the door in his PJ's, he's an older man, looking to be in his early 60's.

"Welcome Clan of Hope, please follow me. I am Bill, the PC Inventor. I am glad to have you staying with me for the night!", he says as he opens the door. Then, leading Lucas to a separate room, he leaves to take the others to their rooms.

"Krad, sleep well tonight, we'll have a tough fight tomorrow, likely…", Lucas says tiredly as he falls asleep.

Sahib wandered about for a while, and then decided to try back at the gym. Before he went in, however, he glanced at his Pokedex. All of his Pokémon seemed fit enough to battle (even with that…completely weird encounter with Jean) so he decided against going to the Pokémon Center. He also saw that Quilava appeared to be close to evolving, and that it had learned a new move—lava plume. Sahib noted that was replacing swift, and then walked into the gym.

He found that the arena was covered in brick flooring. The flooring made paths, and there were flowers and such scattered about in a certain position. He glanced at them all as he walked by, finally ending up in front of (whom he presumed to be) the gym leader. She was fairly old looking. Her hair was a very light shade of pink, signaling that it must've been darker in her younger days. She also had on a white and pink outfit. Too much pink, Sahib decided.

"Ohhhh, another challenger!" she half squealed. "And this one's a cutie!" Sahib didn't know if he should be flattered or creeped out. He decided on the latter. "Haha, that won't make me go easy on you or your Pokémon though!" Whitney squealed and grabbed a Pokeball.

Sahib grabbed Furret's Pokeball, ready for a battle. They tossed them at the same time, and in two flashes of light two very different Pokémon appeared. One looked like a giant stuffed fairy doll, and the other looked like a ferret. Furret stood proudly, waiting for orders. The Clefable stood opposite, also ready and waiting for Whitney's order.

"Challengers first," Whitney said in her cheery voice.

"Alright Furret, we might be a bit rusty but we can do this," Sahib said confidently. "Start off with quick attack, then follow with slam!" Sahib called.

Furret moved quickly, that's for sure. Whitney called for a minimize. Furret slammed into the Pokémon, knocking in backwards. Before it could launch the slam attack, however, Clefable shrunk significantly and caused Furret to miss. Furret hopped around, still trying to slam into the Clefable. It missed several times, until finally it struck the tiny Pokémon. Clefable returned to original size and leaped away from Furret. Then, upon order from Whitney, its fingers began to glow white and Clefable wagged them back and forth. Sahib licked his lips, waiting to see what would come out.

"Hehe! I just love metronome! Don't you?" Whitney squealed.

Clefable suddenly smirked and ran at Furret. Sahib told Furret to dodge at all costs, but it was too late. Suddenly Clefable leaped up and slammed its feet into Furret's body. Clefable was using double kick, a move that would prove to be very effective against Furret. Sahib clenched his teeth as he watched Furret get flown backwards from the power of the kicks.

"Furret, slip away with quick attack. Then use fury swipes to finish it off," Sahib called.

Furret quickly moved away with a quick attack, and then turned, using that very same power to charge at Clefable. It slashed at Clefable with his claws. Clefable cried out as it slammed into the ground, Furret still slashing away. Finally, the rain of claws was over. Furret slammed Clefable into the gym floor. Then he quickly leaped away from the injured Pokémon before it could retaliate. Clefable slowly pushed itself up from the ground.

"Clefable, use double slap quickly," Whitney said, becoming more serious now.

Clefable, despite its injures, was able to move fairly quickly to Furret. Furret attempted to get away, but Clefable grabbed onto his tail and then began to slap Furret in the face. Furret's head snapped back and forth from the sheer forth of the attack. Then, the attack was over and Clefable was standing before Furret, panting deeply. Furret smirked and, without a direct order, slammed into Clefable. Clefable fell backwards, down for the count.

"Oh boo!" Whitney mumbled, a pout appearing on her face. She sighed softly and recalled Clefable. "Well, my next Pokémon won't go down easily. Besides, your little Furry—" Sahib's nose wrinkled, "—is almost out of health!" She giggled once more and tossed her next Pokeball. A flash of light later, the evolved form of a Togepi was hovering a few feet in the air. The Pokémon looked fairly playful, but Sahib wasn't going to let that make him drop his guard. "Togetic, let's start shall we? Use metronome!" Whitney called, deciding not to give Sahib a head start.

Togetic wagged its finger back and forth. Furret stared, watching for a moment. Sahib called for a quick attack, to which Furret responded. It charged for the Togetic quickly. Suddenly the metronome was done, and Togetic flew at Furret quickly, a jet of water trailing behind it. Sahib didn't know what the attack was, but knew that it made Togetic faster than Furret. Whitney squealed happily as Furret got knocked backwards.

"Don't you just love aqua jet?" she called to Sahib.

So that's what it was, he thought, biting his lip. Furret seemed to be struggling quite a bit, so Sahib decided to have it attack once more. He hoped that it could do enough damage to finish Togetic, but it was so early in the battle that Sahib really doubted it quite a bit. Furret charged once more in a quick attack. Togetic used metronome again, but this time the move wasn't aqua jet or any water move. No, it came out as a fire type move. One of the strongest fire type moves at that—fire blast.

"Furret!" Sahib called.

Furret tried to turn around, but it was too late. Though Furret was moving fast, the flame was just faster. It flew towards Furret in a symbolic shape. Furret cried out when the powerful attack hit, falling to the ground. Furret's eyes were closed, and it was battered enough that Sahib knew he was down for the count. Sahib sighed and returned his Pokémon. He hesitated when he went to grab Aerodactyl's Pokeball. What if…? Sahib wondered. He thought of what Lili said, and then made up his mind. He was going to use Aerodactyl, but this time he just wouldn't let it happen.

"Aerodactyl, come out and start with ancientpower!" Sahib called.

Though Aerodactyl had just been freed of his Pokeball, he was ready to go. His eyes glowed as the gym crunched and began to form boulders. Togetic looked about itself, looking slightly nervous. Whitney called for a wish attack. Sahib had time to wonder what it did before the boulders flew straight for Togetic. They crashed into the Pokémon, and kicked up so much rubble that Sahib couldn't tell if the Pokémon had gotten hit by the boulders or not.

Togetic had. It was lying among the rubble, simply attempting to pull its wing free from the boulders. Whitney gasped. She pouted slightly and then called for Togetic to use metronome. Togetic waggled its fingers frantically, and then there was a bright burst of light. Whitney groaned, and when the flash cleared Aerodactyl was left looking rather stunned. Togetic had gotten free because of the blinding flash attack. It flew towards Aerodactyl and used another metronome. This time, the attack was useful to Whitney. It was water pulse, something that damaged Aerodactyl (who was still half dazed) fairly significantly.

Aerodactyl shook its head, snapping out of its dazed state and slightly shaking off his injures. Aerodactyl stumbled slightly, but then righted himself and flew towards Togetic. Sahib called for a wing attack. Aerodactyl didn't have a short distance to fly, and successfully slammed its wings into Togetic's body. Sahib watched as suddenly Togetic was flown into the air, becoming covered in a bright veil. Seconds later it was healed. Sahib stared, slightly pissed. He had thought that the battle would be over. But no, Togetic's wish had healed it. Sahib now knew what it did, and he didn't like it very well.

"Togetic you're doing great! Now let's use a super strong metronome, alright?" Whitney asked cutely to her Pokémon. Togetic nodded and began to wag its fingers back and forth.

"Aerodactyl, I doubt that wish helped a whole lot. Hurry and finish it off! Use thunder fang," Sahib called, knowing that this time the move would be super effective.

Aerodactyl's jaws charged with electricity as it flew at a rapid speed towards Togetic. Togetic's metronome was done. The attack was thunder punch. Sahib watched as the Pokémon charged at each other, and met in a flurry of electricity. There was a crackle and then a loud boom, then all was silent. There were two equivalent thuds. The smoke cleared. Both Togetic and Aerodactyl were lying on the ground, KOed. Both trainers called back their Pokémon.

"Wow, you really are as good as you are cute!" Whitney replied enthusiastically. Sahib silently grabbed Quilava's Pokeball, ready for this gym battle to be over as quickly as possible. "Let's go, Wiggles!"

Sahib tossed his own Pokeball, and once more two Pokémon stood facing each other for battle. One was large and pink. Sahib recognized it as a Wigglytuff. He made a face at all of the pinkness, but stayed silent. Quilava stood opposite, the flame on its back and head bright and lit up for battle. Quilava looked a tad tired, but Sahib hoped that wouldn't cost him the gym battle. I doubt it, but I'll have to be careful, he decided. Sahib decided that he was going to put lava plume to good use.

"Lava plume, Quilava!" Sahib called, ready to get the match started and finished.

"Wigglytuff you use sing to put that little weasel to sleep!" Whitney called.

Sahib clenched his teeth as he watched. Quilava unleashed the attack that was for sure. A giant puff of flames and ash was flying towards Wigglytuff. Then again, Wigglytuff's attack worked as well. Quilava swayed silently on its feet and then fell asleep, looking rather content. Sahib normally wouldn't have minded, except for the fact that it was in the middle of the battle. Wigglytuff, though pelted by the attack, was still awake and able to fight.

"Quilava, wake up!" Sahib called.

Whitney giggled. "That's not going to work. Wigglytuff, use thunder punch!"

Wigglytuff nodded and then pulled its fist back. It ran to Quilava, the pink fist chagrining with electricity. When it slammed its fist into Quilava, the Pokémon cried out but somehow stayed asleep. Sahib vaguely wondered how Quilava could take that and still sleep, but then began to focus once more on the fact of getting Quilava out of his slumbering state. He opened his mouth to say something, when Wigglytuff suddenly began to slap Quilava.

"Dammit! Quilava, wake up!" Sahib called. He had come this far without losing a gym battle—he wasn't quite ready to do so just yet.

The attack pressed on, and when Sahib brought out his Pokedex he saw that Quilava's health was growing very (almost dangerously, in Sahib's opinion) low. That's when Quilava's red eye snapped open. He, without Sahib's direct order, became engulfed in flames. Quilava used a close range flame wheel. The attack knocked Wigglytuff away, sending the Pokémon skidding backwards against the hard gym floor. Whitney gasped as she watched. She opened her mouth to order another attack, but Sahib beat her to it.

"Finish it Quilava, use lava plume!" Sahib called.

Quilava snorted and lowered its head. The flames on his back grew to immediately large levels as a wall of fire and rock flew towards Wigglytuff. The Pokémon attempted to get away and dodge, but it just couldn't. In the end, Quilava was left standing the victor of the battle, proudly observing the arena. Sahib grinned.

"Well…" Whitney trailed off with a soft sigh. "I think my game has been off. Oh well! Good job, here you go, sweetie."

Sahib eyed the badge, but then finally took it. He thanked Whitney, recalled Quilava, and then walked out of the gym. As soon as he did, however, his phone started to vibrate. Sahib stared at Grecko's number, Oh just effing great. That's when he felt a tap on his shoulder.

Fenris: Good post! Good gym battle! Furret grew to lvl 31! Aerodactyl grew to lvl 31! Quilava grew to lvl oh wait nope he did not quit gain enough expereince to grow a lvl im sorry...... JK Quilava grew to lvl 36! Quilava wants to evolve will you allow it? Sahib recieved the plain badge!

Volume 2, Chapter 2 parts 1&2 - O JOY JOY JOY

"Elm looks a little sick or something…" Scythe thought to himself as they all pulled up to the counter next to the expert. "And who the hell is this kid?" He than asked himself noticing some other trainer beside Elm.

"Everyone before we get into the meeting, I would like you to meet Lucas, he is a pokemon trainer and seems to be caught in the middle of everything, so I have made him an honorary Dex Holder" Elm says introducing Lucas and then he quickly rushes everyone into the meeting room, where six older trainers are sitting. "Who are all these people…there so old and they look…tired and as if they've seen more than anyone ever should…" The young trainer thinks as he looks around the small room.

Elm walks to the front along with them and starts to speak. "First off we have some bad news… Bugsy has been found outside of the Ilex forest.. he was murdered" he says looking to the ground very upset. "What! No!..." Scythe shouts out forgetting where he was. "That means the cloaked man killed two people in the woods…" the than finishes in his head.

"That is why you are here right now, my colleagues here feel it is time for the truth, so let me get to introductions" Elm says as the first person stands up. It is an older women in about her 60's, she is about 5'2 and has a lighter tan skin. Her hair lays at about her shoulders and it is white. Her face looks very calm though at this moment. "Everyone this here is Angela Taveres, as most of you can tell be the last name this is Cairnes grandmother." Elm says before allowing her to speak.

"Wow so one of the dex holders has a relative whose been in the situation before" Scythe than talks with himself.

"Seeing you young trainers remind me of when I was younger, although I faced much worse, it's good that you are here today" she says then taking a seat. Elm then walks to the center again. As the next person in line stands up, but you already have met this man. "Everyone you already know this is Grecko Rage" Elm says as Grecko then steps forward.

Scythe's face brightens with enjoyment as he sees the only trainer, beside his dad, that he looks up to. "Damn…he's so cool!" Scythe than shouts out loud in his head.

"I am glad to see everyone has made it here safely" he says with a stern expression before sitting back down. Elm then centers himself again as another man stands up, this man seems to be around the same age as the last two early 60's. He stands about 5ft 6, he has messy dark hair and his facial expression is that of someone very amused right now but at the same time a sinister look. He is wearing a black long sleeve shirt and jeans. "Everyone this is Shaun Tess" He then stands up quickly.

As Shaun stands up a grin replaces the smile that was on Scythe's face. "Something doesn't seem right with this guy…" Scythe cautiously thinks to himself as he watches the man walk across the room.

"Well… yeah congrats on getting here" he says before sitting down.. …Elm then centers once again as the next person to stand up is much taller then the rest, he is about 6'2, he has a somewhat athletic build to him and his hair reaches down to about the length of his neck, it is a faded blonde color. He also has a goatee, and wears a black suit with a black hat to match. "Everyone this is Gage Taveres also Cairnes Grandfather" Elm says.

After hearing this a huge "WOW" face replaces the grin on Scythe's face. "Two relatives…TWO RELATIVES!!! Shit…" the jealous trainer blasts through out his mind.

"Welcome everyone" He says before taking a seat back down. The next man to stand up is a little older then the previous four he is about in his early 80's. And uses a cane to walk around. He wears a black cape and has gray short spiky hair. "Everyone this is Lance, former Kanto League Champion"

"Lance…awesome…all these amazing trainers in one room…it just kind of brings hope back." Scythe wakingly thinks as he remembers how unhopeful he was earlier.

"Hmph, I can sense some of you feel unsure about things right now.." he says before sitting back down. Elm then comes forward one more time. As another older women stands up she seems to be in about her 70's. She is wearing some kind of bright white uniform with lightning bolts on it. Her face is full of wrinkles and what not and you can tell she has been through much stress related incidents in her time. "Everyone this is Sly, She is the last remaining Kanto beginning Trainer from the same year with Beo and Zypher" He says as you all are in shock to hear that. Sly slowly walks to the front.

"Another one…wow…she must have been hot when she was younger!" the now giddy Scythe thinks as he continues to stare at Sly.

"It is my pleasure to be here with you all today" she pauses taking a second to breathe. "Standing in front of you are the last remaining heroes of the past, and members of the Clan of Hope, the group that fought against Beo and his Dark Brotherhood. That is why you are here" she pauses again, you can start to tell she is not well in her old age. She then continues, "We believe that the current situation in Johto is the result of a resurrected Dark Brotherhood, who is behind it, we currently do not know…. As for what his plans are all we can say is that it is not good for Johto or the world" she says pausing again. "Today is will be known as the day we resurrect the clan of hope, and fight back.. you have done your jobs thus far, which is why we are now giving you this information" she says as she looks down to Grecko who then stands up.

He pulls out a picture of a tiny fairy like pokemon. "This here is Celebi the time travel pokemon, in my day I made very close friends with her and till this day we have shared a bond… A few nights ago though the bond vanished, I can no longer feel her presence in Johto… A part of me fears that the Dark Brotherhood is going to use her to find Giratina's and Darkrais pokeballs… and then they will unleash the darkness once again." He pauses.

"Ah Celebi…my dad told me legends about it but I didn't know it was involved in all of this.." Scythe grins.

Gage then stands up "In other words, we must not fail to find and stop this new leader of the Brotherhood, whoever he is… he mustn't be allowed to find those pokeballs." He says as Lance stands up.

"The best thing for all of you to do right now is continue your gym battles, we will work on locating this new threat… Once we know something we shall contact you, just keep your gaurds up…" Lance says as Shaun quickly jumps in.

"Yes don't not let your guard down for one moment, the darkness works in mysterious ways, we wouldn't want any of you to get lost in it" he says with a smirk. As Sly then stands back up.

"Well I'd say go take a good nights rest, and go for that next gym badge bright and early this is your first mission as a member of the Clan of Hope: To get the gym badge, and protect Whitney" she says as she then dismisses the meeting.

"Well that's cool…atleast were still allowed to get our gym badges…but this time we can't let Whitney die…no more deaths…" Scythe begins to conquer as he exits the meeting room with all the dex holders.

As Scythe exited he saw Grecko standing in the corner of the pokemon center, so he walked over to him. "Um…hey Grecko." The nervous boy twitched as he spoke to the elder. "Hey kid" Grecko grins back.

Noticing the scars and long time bruises on Grecko, Scythe asks, "What was it like…everything you went through." Grecko looks at Scythe with one eye, as the elder trainer unfolds his arms and rubs his head.

"To be honest kid..." he starts out in a raspy way, "It was hell…you really wouldn't be able to handle what I went through…" Grecko finishes.

"Well…I can try" Scythe than looks up at the man with a growing confidence. Grecko takes another glance at the dex holder, than stands up. "Death…lots of death. And despair, pain, ignorance, disgust with yourself…ya it was hell. The worse part about it is…it always sticks with you no matter what." Grecko states to Scythe as he begins to walk away, while some kind of black smog emerges around his left hand.

"Wait!" Scythe yells out to him. "I can understand…" he than softly says across the room. Grecko stops and turns around, "Oh yeah and how's that?" Grecko interestingly questions.

"I may not have been through the same stuff you went through. And I know my journey hasn't been as long as yours, but…I have been through pain…despair…and death." Scythe tells the man with an aging look in his eyes.

This statement catches Grecko's attention, and for a second he smiles, "What have you seen?" he than speaks.

Scythe looks at the ground, hoping he doesn't cry he picks his head up and begins to explain his situation, "Well…When I was younger I was attacked by two huge pokemon and I ended up in the hospital for 3 years. It crushed my dad, and he kind of backed away from me for some reason. I now think the reason for that is because there is something else inside me…something evil and it calls itself Seviin. This thing always gives me headaches that leads into blackouts. Recently in the Ilex Forest it attacked and badly hurt my best friend who was than killed by the black cloaked man, after he blasted my starter Chukapis out of the forest. And the worse part is…I don't think I'll ever see
Chukapis again…"

Listening to the boy's journey thus far, and seeing how Scythe is holding back the tears, Grecko speaks up. "You truly have seen some horrible stuff…but you can't blame yourself for what this Seviin guy does…he's not you. As for the Black cloaked man…he'll get his, believe me…he'll get it." Grecko finishes before walking back into the meeting room clenching both his fists.

Scythe watches the trainer walk away, and than he sees Nurse Joy walking over to him. "Um you must be one of the dex holders right?" she asks. "Um yes?" Scythe responds with a puzzled look. "O good here is your key for your room…the professor wants to make sure you all get some rest." She happily speaks as she hands him the key. "Thanks!" Scythe happily says back as he grabs the key.

After receiving the key, Scythe finds his room and begins to lay down. "Man…this is crazy…all of it…but we can't stop now." The boy says as he stares at the ceiling. "I mean were being counted on so much, and I hope we succeed… but if we do succeed we will end up like Grecko and them…all tired and angry." He than contemplates as he drifts off to sleep.

Scythe awakens in some kind of dark alley, and it's raining. "Where the hell am I?" Scythe questions in a scared way. "PIKA!" a Pikachu shouts from down the alley. "Chukapis?!?!? Is that you?!?!" Scythe yells out as he begins to run for the yellow mouse. "Pikaaachuuu" the electric mouse softly laughs as it runs away from Scythe.

"Chukapis wait!!! Chukapis!!" Scythe begins to scream as he starts running faster and faster. "HAHAHA" the black cloaked man laughs as he picks up Chukapis and disappears. "NO!!!!" Scythe shouts as he awakens in the pokemon center bed.

"Huff Huff…it was a dream" Scythe says as he catches his breath. He begins to lay back down until he notices fire outside the window. "What the hell!" Scythe hollers as he jumps out of bed, grabs his stuff, and runs outside.

Outside you can see fire spreading around the pokemon center, and than a bunch of white cloaked men, standing there as if they were wating for the dex holders.

As Scythe looks around he notices the other dex holders are there…and ironically there's still just enough white cloaked men. "Woah?" Scythe screams as the cloaked man across from him releases a pokemon.

"GLII SCURRR!" a purple winged demon type pokemon chants as it blasts out of it's ball. "Grr let's battle than!" Scythe roars in anger as he sends out a pokemon.

"PIDOGOT!" The bird pokemon chirps as it soars through the air. "Pidgeotto use Quick attack now!" Scythe orders his first capture. "Gliscor furry cutter!" the white cloaked lackey tells his pokemon.

"GLII!" Gliscor cries out as it soars at the attacking Pidgeotto. "Give it all you got Pidgeotto!" Scythe booms out into the night sky. "PIDGOTOT!" Pidgeotto chants as it flies into and through the Gliscor.

Both pokemon stop in mid air, before turning around and facing each other. "Hmm they seemed to have damaged each other." Scythe whispers as he thinks up a plan. "Gliscor go use Screech!" the trainer yells out.

"Pidgeotto send it back with gust like you did that supersonic attack the other day!" Scythe swiftly commands the evolved bird.

Pidgeotto begins to whip up a strong current as the Gliscor starts screeching. "FWOOO FWOOOO!" the gust attack sweeps through the Screech attack, sending it straight back at the Gliscor.

"Gli Gli Gli…Sc..ur!" the Gliscor cires in pain as it gets back into the air. "Now Gliscor use Furry Cutter again!" the man calls to his pokemon. "Pidgeotto finish it with another gust!" Scythe commands.

The opponents Gliscor begins to fast fly at Pidgeotto as it begins to send another strong current raging at Gliscor.

"SCURR!" the Gliscor painfully speaks as it collapses to the ground. "Alright Pidgeotto great job!" Scythe congratulates the pokemon as he stares down the white cloaked trainer.

"Hmm let's go Umbreon!" he than speaks as he switches pokemon. "EON EON!" the black dog type thing purs as it licks it's paw. Looking at the evolved Evee form, Scythe decides to switch his pokemon. "Pidgeotto come back…let's go Face!"
"TED!" Face roars with happiness as it once again attaches to Scythe's face. "Grr Face I'm starting to think you're the cause of my headaches…not Seviin!!" Scythe annoyingly states as he tears the bear off and drops it to the ground.

The white cloaked man chuckles as he watches the scene that just happened, "Umbreon use pursuit!" "EOOON!" The Umbreon chanted as it began to dash at Face.

"Face just stand there and use lick!" Scythe the commands the little green bear. Face gives a confusing look and then turns around to face the charging Umbreon.

"EOOOON!" Umbreon shouts as it collides into Face, tossing it off into the ground beside Scythe. "Ahh Face are you ok?" Scythe asks the pokemon as he picks it up. "Tedi!" Face courageously chants as it stands up.

"Umbreon finish it with a…huh? Umbreon?" the man begins out but than sees Umbreon shaking in one place. "Ha it worked!" Scythe yells out. "What worked?" the man whines back. Scythe smirks, "When your Umbreon went to attack Face, it collided into his tounge which was in lick attack mode. This caused your Umbreon to be badly paralyzed. Now Face use Furry Swipes!" Scythe states to the man before ordering Face to finish the round.

"TEDDDDI!" Face charges and begins to tear apart the unable to move Umbreon. Face than runs back to Scythe as the Umbreon collapses unconsciously. "How is that even possible…" The white cloaked lackey says as he soon realizes how much stronger the dex holders have become.

"LOUUUUU!" the cloaked trainers next pokemon roared throughout the night.

"We can take that Loudred, huh Face?" Scythe confidently questions the bear. "TED TED TEDI!" Face happily cries out as it pounces back and forth.

"Such confidence will get you nowhere!!!! Loudred use howl!" the lackey commands. "Face watch out!" Scythe reaches for the pokemon as the Loudred begins to scream at the top of it's lungs.

"AHHH" "TEDDII!" both Scythe and Face cry out as they cover their ears and get down to their knees. When the Loudred stops both uncovered their ears. "Face go use slash now!" Scythe than commands Face as he stands up.

"TEDDII!" Face roars as it dashes for the Loudred. "Loudred use supersonic!" the trainer orders.

"Face roll to the side and than continue the attack!" Scythe swiftly shouts out.

The Loudred begins to send the confusion wave towards Face, who quickly counters by rolling to the side. "TED TEDII!" Face yells out as it springs back up and swipes it claw under the jaw of the Loudred.

"LOU!" the Loudred cries as it's head tilts back. "Now Face use faint attack!" Scythe speedily calls out.

"TEDI!" Face than says as it slams it's little body into the back of the Loudred. "LOU!" Loudred than roared as it begin to fall forward, but stopped itself on one toe.

"GRRR Loudred use Bite!" the white cloaked man says to the purple pokemon. The Loudred turned around and caught Face in it's bit attack.

"Teddiiii Tediiii Teddiiiii!" Face swarmed with agony as the Loudred continued to sink it's teeth around. "No Face use furry swipes on it's eyes!" Scythe quickly yells out hoping to save the Teddiursa.

Face reluctantly hoping to escape the death grip, begins sweeping it's claws through the eyes of the Loudred. "LOU LOUUUU!" the Loudred painfully whimpers as it releases Face.

"Now Face finish it with Slash!" Scythe than confidently boast as Face charges and slams it's claw one more time into the Loudred's jaw, knocking it over.

"Haha you did it Face!" Scythe pats the Teddiursa on the head as he picks it up. He than glances back over and notices the white cloaked trainer is gone.

Scythe returns Face to it's ball and notices the fire is now being put all, and all of the white cloaked men are gone. Scythe also notices a few missing dex Holders, and also Shaun.

"It's Scythe right?" Grecko says to Scythe as he walks over. "Yes Grecko sir!" Scythe obediently responds. Grecko gives an odd look at the boy before speaking.

"It seems there has been an attempt on our lives tonight… we must work quicker to figure this out… Come now we have been invited to stay at the Bill's house for the remainder of the night. In the morning you will continue your mission and training. He says as Scythe and the others follow them down the road abit and around a few blocks. Once there a man standing in his PJ's gives everyone a look.. He is an older man roughly about 60 or so.

"This guy is Bill, the great box maker?" Scythe thinks to himself as he glances at the oddly dressed man.

"Welcome Clan of Hope please follow me, I am Bill the PC inventor, I am glad to have you staying with me for the night!" he says as he leads everyone to a separate room.

"I guess I do deserve a rest…especially after tonight…I just hope I don't get any more nightmares…" Scythe's thoughts race as he begins to once again doze off.
