The legend of Pokémon Master (theories)

First of all, sorry if my English is trash. I'm a brazilian. =/
Well, I think everybody knows about Pokémon Master, right?
In fact, no one knows exactly who are. If exist just one or many. They are many theories about that person.
Some peoples think a Master is the Champion of Elite 4 or one member of Elite. In my opinion, the Champion is the bets trainer of a region, just that.
Others think is when you catch all the Pokémon. It's a little relative, don't it? Because, until now, news Pokémon are be discovered and will. This object is to help the Professor of the region (like Prof. Oak) with their research of species.
Other theory is it doesn't exist one Master. So, Master is not a ranking of Pokémon League, but a personal ranking. You can say you are a Master when you have certain skills.
So, say your opinion and theories of this person! XD
Ah, I'm referring of the Master in anime, ok?
Well... In my opinion, exist just one Master, however, with his fame to be the best of the world, his identity is hided to everybody. Just a minority knows who he really are.
And this ranking exist since the Pokémon League was created.
How is the best of the world, he (or she) knows many tactics, skills, knowledge and, in Battle term, a god.
So, that's my theory. ^^

I see the Pokemon Master (or Mistress, if it's a girl) as an overseer over all the regions (including the ones we don't know about yet.) S/he's in charge of the day-to-day operations of the League, casts the deciding vote when a group is divided on an issue, should an evil team/Pokemon threaten the League, protect the world.

I always thought a trainer who wins a league competiton like the Indigo Lague gets the title "Pokemon Master". Therefore there must be many. That would explain why Ash always talks about becoming "the greatest Pokemon Master of the world" (or "the universe" as said in one episode; or "of all times" as said in another episode). I'm not sure, if that was mentioned in the Anime, though. Guess I took it for granted as you become a Pokemon Master in the games by winning the Pokemon League.

There's no such thing. How many "characters of the day" have we seen who point thumbs to their own chest and proudly claim that they're "Pokemon Masters"? No one. It's in the form of gym leaders, elites, coordinators, etc. Any profession dealing with Pokemon.

I agree with you about the dreams, but when the legend of the master was created? It can't be form nothing. I believe he/she exist, but his/her identity is hided, and we don't know the job of one. Proteting the world in a great crisis, maybe. (don't ask me about the counter-attack of Mewtwo) Or he's vacating aroud the world, when the League call him for someting, etc...

I don't thing so. In the games, we became just the New Champion. In FR/LG say it when we inter in Cerulean's Cave. The away to become one is unknown... Maybe the master chose one trainer to challenge him or a secret competition involving the Champions around the world or the E4... They're many possibilities.
