No need for an SU King... you can have Crimtwig.

Chapter 1: Beginning Backwards

Jack stepped out of the hotel lobby, into the calm breeze outside. He walked down the steps, and onto the sandy path that winded through the small town. Today he was starting his journey through Luvia, I newly discovered region, under Johto, and east of Kanto. It was a new challenge, with all new Pokémon, after his quest through Hoenn, his home-region. He'd left his home in Lilycove yesterday, and took a cruise-ship all the way to Crystagem Town, where he would start over and receive a brand-new Pokémon for his journey.

"Now where is it", Jack mumbled, scanning the rooftops. "There!" he said excitedly, and headed toward a tall building, the tallest besides the hotel. Once he reached the door, he walked inside.

It was quiet, but full of energy, cluttered and compacted. Test tubes, tables, scattered paper, but no Pokémon. At a desk on the far side of the room, there was a middle-aged woman, with blonde hair, with her elbows on the desktop and her hands on her fore-head, her face looking down at the table.

"Uhhh…….you okay?" Jack slowly asked.

"Oh!" the woman sprang up from her seat. "I'm terribly sorry, I was just……..well, let's just say I was in "Thinking Mode. What do you need, hun?"

Is she serious? , Jack thought. Thinking Mode? And what does it look like I'm here for? Is SHE the Professor?

"I'm here to receive my first Pokémon, maim", Jack said respectfully. "And start my journey."

"Oh", she responded. "I'm……kind of……out. See, the last Pokémon we had……it ran away. IT hopped right out the window! And…..and….." Tears started coming to her eyes.

"Um, it's okay Professor, I'll help you find it. It's around here, right?"

"Yeah……..I think. We'll look together, then?"

"Yeah!" Jack responded, and the two walked out the door of the lab.

(OOC: It's short, but it's the first poist!)

"Ok," Jet let out as he walked through the high grass of the route he was in. "Let's find at least something." He and Shampi had been walking for at least a good half hour, and yet they had yet to see a single pokemon or person, and Jet was starting to loose his patience. Shampi, the chubby water pokemon, was moving terribly slowly, and he was starting to wonder if he should just trade it for something better, like a Cyndaquil or something.

"Shampi sham!" Shampi cried out suddenly, pointing a single claw at a small shadow covered in the large grass.

Jet narrowed his eyes in an effort to try and get a better look at said shadow. As they moved closer, the shadow was overcome with light and they could see that it was some sort of bird pokemon that had similarities to both a Pidgey and a Psyduck. According to his pokedex, it was a Wyvell.

"Alright, get in there and use Scratch!" Jet ordered loudly, startling the bird pokemon.

The large beaked pokemon just had enough time to turn its head around and see who had called out to get a nice blue claw right in the face. "Wyvv!" it quacked, flapping its small wings away as it was painfully shoved forward by the sharp claws. "Wy!" it snarled as it began to kick up sand with its wings.

"Saamm," Shampi whimpered as he covered his face with his hands against the Sand Attack.

Jet groaned. "Don't just stand there during an attack that doesn't cause any damage!" he snapped. "Use Scratch!"

"Sham," Shampi murmered a bit more boldy. It narrowed its black eyes on the hovering bird. Giving out a loud cry, it ran forward as fast as it could with its claws raised. "Shampi"

"Wyy," Wyvell complained loudly, irritated that this pokemon was still attacking him. With a carefully poised beak, Wyvell waited just until the Shampi was within distance, and then he struck, nailing Shampi right in the chest with Peck.

"Shaampi!" Shampi wailed, clutching his stomach and staggering back. With a pitiful look towards his trainer, Shampi was disappointed to see that he wasn't about to be called back.

"Are you kidding me?" Jet growled. "One attack... Just one! Get in there and use Scratch, and I don't want to hear any complaining!"

"Wy! Wy! Wy!" the duck pokemon laughed in delight as it saw the trainer snapping at the pokemon. "Wvell," it taunted, flapping its wings to start hovering.

"Shamm," Shampi grumbled despairingly. With one last glance at its trainer, Shampi charged, claws forward.

"Vell," the Wyvell murmered, shaking its head in disbelief. With a glare, he poised his beak, once more waiting for Shampi to get within range.

"Jump!" Jet roared, seeing that the Wyvell was going for the same tactic.

"Sham!" Shampi shouted, jumping high and just in time, for where he used to be was a big beak digging into the ground from a missed Peck attack. "Shampi!" Shampi roared, bringing down his hand with as much strength as possible in a desperate attempt to awe his trainer.

The claw came down hard and raked Wyvell's hide painfully. A few feathers were shredded and removed from his body, making him give a painful cry of, "Wyvll!"

"Shampi," Shampi breathed as he bounced back a bit and tossed his trainer a happy smile.

"Don't turn away from the battle before its done," Jet ground out in exasperation. "Let's try a Growl this time."

"Amp," Shampi grunted with a nod. Turning back to the wounded Wyvell, he bared his teeth and let out a threatening Growl that shook the bird pokemon's spine.

"Wyy..." Wyvell faltered, eyes wide with fear before giving into that fear and instinct. "Vell!" it cried, running forward on its feet, wings exposed as he rained down a series of vicious Pecks to Shampi's muh smaller and rounded body.

"Smp! Shamp! Am!" Shampi cried out with each vicious Peck. He shivered and backed away with his arms up, but the Pecks kept coming. Fearfully, Shampi desperately swung out with both his claws in an attempt to rid the bird pokemon of his body. To his complete and utter surprise, he felt his claws dig into warm flesh before a loud call of pain was given.

"Wyyy!" Wyvell wailed, falling to the ground and panting with the occasional twitch.

Warily, Shampi nudged the fallen body, a bit unsure as to what just happened, but his trainer spoke up, breaking his thoughts away.

"Well, I certainly didn't expect that," Jet muttered, staring down at the bird pokemon. "Honestly, I thought you would have been finished."

"Shmm..." Shampi looked away.

"But it seems you aren't entirely useless," Jet continued with a shrug as he turned away. "Come on, let's go battle something else."

Shampi watched his trainer walk away and, with a sigh, began to follow at a much slower pace.

King900000: An alright post... not how I wrote, but I'm willing to give it a chance.

Wolfwhispers: Good post! Shampi grew to Level 7 and learned Bubble.

((OOC: I would've posted earlier but i had yard work to do today. I won't be on tomorrow because I'll be doing fencework for my grandma. Yesterday, the day before that and the day before that, I was working on my car. The water pump is a b*tch to replace. Anyways, I'll TRY to be more active and post more often... On another note, I think I'm getting sick. Sorry for any inconvenience.))

Angel and Smebull walked along side by side. Apparently already working on a battle strategy.

"Did you get that? I'll sing and you use the attack my singing makes you feel. It's easier for me to alter my singing to fit your battle style than it is to train you to specific notes.

"Smebull Sme!" it said happily nodding.

As they walked past the bushes, they noticed something red and yellow sticking out of a bush. It came out to reveal it was a bug pokemon.

Angel quickly ripped out his pokedex.

"Quisi, The Larva Pokemon. Height, 3 inches. Weight, 4 pounds. Hanging up in trees, Quisi usually use their string shot attack to capture and reel in prey. They have good vision since they have six eyes."

"Hmm... a bug pokemon... ok. Smebull, Go!" Angel said fiercely.

Smebull obeyed and jumped out in front.

Angel began singing a foreign song that sounded Swedish. ("DoTa" by Basshunter)

"Vi sitter här i venten och spelar lite DotA.
(I hear you man.)
Vi sitter här i venten och spelar lite DotA.
(I feel you man.)"

Hearing the lyrics, Smebull rushed in for a tackle attack. It hit, knocking the bug pokemon a few feet away. But the bug pokemon wasn't going down without a fight. The Quisi reared up and shot out a string shot attack which missed.

"Vi sitter här i venten och spelar lite DotA
å pushar på å smeker,
med motståndet vi leker.
Vi sitter här i venten och spelar lite DotA
å springer runt å creepar,
och motståndet vi sleepar."

Smebull growled then went in for a tackle attack. The attacks hit and Quisi looked down for the count. Angel reached into his messenger bag and threw a pokeball. Just then, however, a bird pokemon swooped down, hoping to get a free breakfast. The pokeball hit the bird pokemon and was sucked in. Thinking quickly, Angel threw another ball which this time hit the Quisi and sucked it in. Both balls wobbled back and forth before finally settling. Angel had just accidentally caught two pokemon at once.

Z34guy: You can't catch them unless I say so. It's a short post so... the balls shook for a few seconds and then opened in flashes of bright light. The Quisi looked angry and the Wyvell looked shocked, flying away from the battle though.

sorry... I was in a rush and I didn't know if I should ask.

next time, it's alright to ask. I won't bite. Also, direct any OOC posts to the OOC board...

Chapter 2: Lost and Found:But In One Piece?

The two walked along the sandy path, until they came to an entrance to the forest. "Well……." Jack said.

"Let's go!" the Professor replied and the two walked into the big group of trees. "You'll need these, they might help." she said, handing Jack some Pokeballs. He counted, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5! "And this." She handed Jack a computer-looking thing. "That's a Pokedex; it will give you information on Pokémon that you've seen."
All of a sudden, a bush started rattling. The two turned, and out jumped a caterpiller looking creature.
"What's that?" Jack asked in shock.

"Check the Pokedex", the professor responded.

Jack flipped up the top of the machine, and pointed it towards the Pokémon.

"Quisi
Type: Bug
The Larva Pokémon
Height: 3 inches
Weight: 4 pounds
Pokedex Entry:
Hanging up in trees, QUISI usually use their STRING SHOT attack to capture and real in prey. They have a good vision since they have six eyes." the Pokedex read.

"Hmmmm…….What are we gonna do?" Jack asked.

"Well, let's catch it to help with are search!" the Professor said, pulling out a Pokeball. "Go, TAILOW!"

"Whoa, a Tailow! Finally a familiar face…." Jack said.

"Yup!" the Professor answered."Now, use Peck Tailow!" Tailow flew in with rapid speed towards the Quisi, and threw a quick peck at it. The Quisi moaned and toppled to the side.

"That Tailow's good!" Jack exclaimed.

"Well", the Professor started, throwing a Pokeball at the Pokémon. "Tailow's trained good, level 20, actually, and that Quisi is a bug type, weak to flying type moves." The Pokeball sat motionless on the ground, and the Quisi was gone. The Professor smiled. "We did it!" she exclaimed.

Jack picked up the Pokeball. It felt good to have it in his hands. He squeezed it hard, and under his breath he said, "I'm not giving up. Never. We'll find you Crimtwig."

A half hour later, Jack walked alone along the path that winded through the forest. He and the Professor had split up, and he and Quisi were to check the threes and lower ground, while the Professor and her Tailow searched the sky.

"Quisi!" the bug exclaimed, nodding towards a tree.

"What'd you find?" Jack asked, happy with Quisi's great sight.

"Quisi!" It fired a stringy substance from its mouth and it wrapped around a lump on a nearby tree. The string yanked the lump off the tree. Suddenly, Jack realized that the lump wasn't part of the tree. It was Crimtwig! But something was wrong. Crimtwig wasn't fighting back!

"Quisi, stop girl!" Jack ordered, and Quisi stopped swinging Crimtwig around. "Crimtwig's unconscious!" Jack said worriedly. He took a Pokeball from his bag, and held close to Crimtwig. In a flash of red light, Crimtwig was inside. "Let's go!" Jack exclaimed, sucking Quisi back into her Pokeball and running back to the path. With two Pokeballs in his hands, Jack ran towards the town ahead.

(OOC: I hope it's okay to catch Quisi, and Crimtwig's male!)

King900000: Alright. You obtained a Level 2 Female Quisi and a Level 5 Male Crimtwig!
You receive a Pokedex and 5 Pokeballs.

Gwyna's first thought was that Professor Devanea looked pretty good for someone in her mid-thirties. In the second thought she wondered if that blonde hair was fake. On the third one she remembered what she had actually come here for. Well, mainly because Professor Devanea was looking at her with a stern look, waiting for her to reveal her name.
"Ehm, I'm Gwyna Trumbey, here to pick up my first Pokémon."
"Yes, I know what you're here for, now let's see. Gwyna, you are registered for a Barkk. Right this way please." The Professor led her to a table in the lab with about half a dozen Pokéball on it. She picked one up and gave it to Gwyna, it had a little marking on it of three circles intertwined, one fo the signs for a Normal Pokémon.
"Now, you need to keep a good eye on this one, he's very quite something to handle, are you sure you're up to it?"
"I am, I know I am. You don't really think I'd say no, did you?"
No I suppose not," Devanea sighed and handed her a Pokedex and five little red and white Pokéballs. "Here is your stuff, don't forget to report back every once and a while, and try to find as many Pokémon, would you? Now, shoo, I have more people to greet!" She gave Gwyna a little smile before shoving her out the door.

Well, that was that. On an adventure. Barkk, what kind of a Pokémon is a Barkk? A handful? Only one way to find out. Gwyna made a show of gracefully throwing up the ball, well she had intended it to look graceful anyway. "Barkk, come out!"
The creature that came out was covered entirely with wild brown fur, a little lighter around its belly and the underside of the mouth and tail. It's eyes were orange in colour and it just about came knee length to Gwyna. It's tail was wagging about a mail a minute and was already jumping about taking in its new environment.
"Barkk?"
Gwyna was greeted with a loud and energetic bark, as if answering. Well, it sure was kind of cute, even though he was a little ADD. Devanea had said he was a handful, huh?

And so Gwyna and Bark started their journey, mostly with Gwyna running after Barkk when he decided he wanted to see something desperately. It really was a cute thing though.
"Barkk! Wait up little guy! Don't go that far ahead! Barkk! Be careful of other Pokémon! BARKK!" Okay, Gwyna did find him a little less cute now. That thing needed to learn some obedience skills. Talking about obedience, she wondered how he would behave in a battle. Only one way to find out though. And, as if on cue, a little bird came out. It's feathers were almost the same color as Barkks, just a little bit yellower, and a little less ruffled. The thing screeched in a wild manner, as if they had disrupted something very important to the Pokémon. At least it did make it clear that it was quite agitated.
"Barkk! Come here boy! Let's do some training shall we?!" The crazed puppy came running like a whirlwind. Did his energy never run out? That didn't matter. Let's see what he can do.

Barkk wasn't in his place or the crazed little bird-thing attacked with a furious Peck attack. It came rushing towards them, it's beak lit up and ready to do some serious damage.
"Barkk! Dodge it and use growl!"
The Pokémon obeyed it's trainer, big surprise to Gwyna, and narrowly escaped the peck, after which it let out a loud growl from the back of its throat. The bird obviously wasn't very charmed by it, for the sound was still ringing deep within its ears. Some part of instinct told it to run, but it's anger and will to battle kept it on its feet, although a bit taken aback.
"Quick, while it's still surprised! Tackle it!"
Again the Barkk obeyed without question, storming towards the Wyvell and throwing its entire body in a ruthless tackle. The bird was thrown to the ground and let out a screech of pain. But nevertheless, it got up on it's feet and launched another peck. BArkk, who wasn't ready for the attack yet, was caught fully on the side of it's body and thrown to the ground in turn.
"Barkk! Come one, you're a tough cookie! You can do this, tackle!" Gwyna, had no worries, a simple peck attack wouldn't bring them down, no way. It took more than a scrawny little bird to defeat this new team.
The Barkk did indeed get up, and got ready to launch another attack. The bird, however, was ready for it and flew up avoiding the attack, landing a little away from the puppy Pokémon.
"Barkk, don't give up, continue tackling until you hit it!"
The Pokémon charged again, but once again the attack was avoided. But the Barkk didn't give up and rushed headfirst towards the Wyvell again, this time hitting it right as it was about to take off again, slamming it from a little above the ground, down into the grass. The bird gave another painful squeak before fleeing the battle, limping a bit with its left wing.

"Hmm, little wimp, ain't it? You were amazing, Barkk! You are not as bad as I thought you'd be!"
The Barkk looked at her in an insulted manner before turning his back on his trainer and walking a little ahead.
"Oh, come on! It was a compliment! I said you did great! Whatever, you go be mad. See if I care! Stupid little dog."

Dutchesse: Haha. Nice post. Barkk grew to Level 6.

"Are you honestly going to sulk for the rest of the journey? Fine, suit yourself, but don't count on me when you get attacked!" The Barkk only responded with a twitch of his ears as he kept walking in front of Gwyna so all she saw of him was his back.
"Rude pup. Honestly, why did I get you again? Oh right, I had no choice! If I did I would have chosen another one, one way cooler than you, you little pain in the butt! You know what, I don't even care anymore, I give up."
And so more walking followed while Pokémon and trainer completely ignored each other. Good thing there weren't any more wild Pokémon on the road anymore. But Gwyna was getting tired of being ignored. She was supposed to spend the rest of her journey with the stubborn Pokémon, how was she supposed to do that when they didn't acknowledge each other's existence?
"Say, Barkk? How about a truce, for now? I just want to see what other Pokémon we could battle," she tried to reason with the Barkk, but he still didn't say anything.
As on cue, though, a strange bug-Pokémon appeared from the wilderness. She retrieved her Pokédex (which she had forgotten to do when the crazed bird appeared) and recorded it's data.

Princieon
Type: Bug/Steel
The Moth Pokemon
Height: 1 foot
Weight: 41 pounds
Pokedex Entry:
This Pokemon is much stronger than its evolution and usually lives with its children and the king of its hive. Its vision is much more advanced than a Quisi's.

"Barkk, what do you say? Let's try to take it out?" The little puppy looked a bit doubtful, but it hardly had any time to think about the matters, because the bug already fired a String Shot at him. Barkk easily dodged the sticky white string, which bundled up on the ground where he had just been. Without waiting for Gwyna to shout out a command he launched a Tackle, diving headfirst towards the Princieon. Hitting its target, the attack seemed to have the opposite effect, instead of weakening it, it angered the bug. It started flying down on the poor Pokémon and launching a series of tackles.
"Barkk, hold on! Try to tackle him in the breaks!"
Again Barkk ignored his trainer, and instead launched a Growl attack. The noise did slow the bug down, but it still sent out tackles that hit Barkk full on. Barkk got back on its feet and hit a well-aimed tackle that did weaken the Pokémon this time. While the other Pokémon was down, Barkk quickly launched another one, hitting Princieon just as he was about to fly up again. Once again hitting the ground, the bug was significantly weaker. Not weak enough, however, to hit Barkk with another tackle.
"Barkk! That's enough, let's flee the battle! He's too strong, come on Barkk!"
The dog, however, would hear nothing of it, and went on with its tackles. One more hit later, after quite some missed tries, and the big bug was finally down. Gwyna hurried to the Barkk, who was panting heavily.
"Why didn't you listen to me you stubborn thing, I wanted to pull you out of it, remember. This is all your fault." She retrieved her potion and sprayed some on its right shoulder, where there was a small cut. The Pokémon winced due to the sting, but it did't make nay noise other than a little whimper.
"They really weren't kidding when they said you were a difficult one, were they?"

---
About an hour later they were once again on their journey, Barkk walking besides Gwyna this time. They had taken some time to rest while the potion was working its magic on Barkk and to eat some and rest. Now they were once again on their way to success, as Gwyna loved to think.
Out of the bushes came a tiny little bird, significantly smaller than the angry brown thing they had seen earlier. It was almost entirely black besides a red marking on it's belly surrounded by white and its yellow beak.
Gwyna squealed," I need that Pokémon! Barkk, are you going to help me capture it?"
The Barkk nodded in response, as it readied itself to attack the bird. The Robis was just picking at the ground with it's beak, not suspecting anything when out of nowhere it was being pushed to the ground. It made quite the agitated sound, but it didn't attack. Instead it launched stinging sand at Barkk, which he avoided as he tackled it again. Still it didn't attack on its own, instead it tried to flee the battle. Barkk would not let that happen, it would weaken this Pokémon for Gwyna, so she could capture it. So again he tackled it, not letting it get away.
"Barkk, that's enough I believe," she threw the Pokéball at the bird, hoping that the shaking would end with a new addition, and not a fleeing Pokémon.

Dutchesse: An okay post. Barkk grew to Level 8 and learned Quick Attack.
