4th Gen The New First/Second Bug Pokemon

    In every 3rd gen version ('cept Colos or XD) there has been a "first bug(s)" For R/S/E, it was Wurmple, who evoed into Beautifly or Dustox. In FR/LG there were Caterpie and Weedle. Which, if either, will D/P use? What new ones will they use otherwise?
     
    I hated the Silcoon/Cascoon thing.....I hope they'll be different.
     
    Well actually G/S/C didn't have a new bug but they had Ledyba and Spinarak so maybe they'll have two new ones of different insects to follow the chain:

    R/B/Y Caterpie- Caterpiller, Weedle - Caterpiller?
    G/S/C Ledyba -Ladybug, Spinarak- Spider
    R/S/E Wurmple- Worm (2 possiblities)
    D/P/? ???
     
    I hope there are two different bugs, I hated trying to get Cascoon and ending up with Silcoon, it sucks!

    I'm not too wild about them, because they'll almost undoubtedly be crappy. I just hope they don't repeat the same species like R/S did. More butterflies and moths? Lame…

    That would be cool. A lot more original... Maybe an Ant pokemon... Or a beetle? I could see them making a beetle-pokemon useful...
     
    Hmm, I agree with the ant idea, that'd be an interesting idea for a Pokemon to find at the beginning. But what if they DO use more caterpillars that go to moths/butterflies? Maybe different type combo like Bug/Fire, or Bug/Dark? I'm thinking a lunamoth would be a interesting Pokemon, as well as a real "firefly", not the sucky Volbeat we got.
     
    Wow, that would be cool. Firefly, as a bug/fire pokemon? Maybe have an eevee-esque bug pokemon that evolves into different types of bug pokemon depending on... Something? I think it would make it worth... catching? Maybe have a second form, but not let it evolve to it's 3rd form til a stone is used on it. That way, we don't have too many strong pokemon too early in the game... Blah I don't even know if I'm making sense anymore, lol.

    Oh yeahhh Heracross, I TOTALLY forgot about that!
     
    Well bugs are generally sucky, except for hera, and pinsir to an extent. The rest are pretty useless imo.

    A stone would be good... Like, you have the one bug, they it's next form, then later on you can pick one of two stones.. like the polis.. but yeah. ._.;

    I completly agree! i was sick to death with the bug pokemon at he start of the game, they sucked! I never had them in my team, only ever used them to get my pokedex up! But going back to the question, i would say two new bugs ... JOY >_>
     
    so ur saying that scyther is a crap bug pokemon i think its the best... it evolves into scizor... i thoght that was the best thing ever to do and hey its 1 of my fav pokemon, also having bug pokemon at the begining of the game is good to id rather them than rattatas and pidgeys, or put a pokemon there that u wouldnt think... i like the idea of the firefly and yes volbeat didnt do it for me lol dnt even think it was an attempt, they should put a bug type with the normal 3 evolutions but make them evolve later then at lv 7 and lv 10 and make them learn better moves then tackle/poison sting and stringshot...
     
    Um, you didnt scyther in the beginning. Volbeat and Illumise are too "fat" and their faces are too humanlike for me, too colorful to.
     
    I want an ant that evolves into some wasp-like pokemon for one of them, I've always wanted an ant pokemon :).

    Or maybe pre-evolutions of Pinsir/Heracross-Volbeat/Illumise, they could evolve kinda like Tyrogue, if Attack > Defence you get one, if Attack < Defence you get the other, and if Attack = Defence the evolution cancels.
