Yes actually in one of the movies (I think Pokemon Ranger) May makes friends with a manafi like Max and Jirachi!

EDIT: Yep, Found him. Ha! Reminiscent of pikachu.... Woha~ Hey, you guys seen diarugu or summthing yet? Ouchies. He looks like one heck of a strong legendary.... Oh and I think buizeru (Oh, man what is WITH their names??!!!) is quite cute... Not sure about spelling... -_- Nintendo is getting a little cheeky with the namesakes..
