I assure you that you will have no problems making friends here at all!
The Pokécommunity has quite a large user base, chances are a few of them will befriend you. ;D
Just find yourself a few sections that draw your eye and go ahead and make your voice heard!
Personally, that's the best possible way you can draw out possible candidates to be your buddies.
(After all, who is a better friend than someone who shares a common interest with you?)

Don't fear irkinix! PC is a great place to make friends! Everyone here is very nice, and you shouldn't have any problem getting comfortable here. Come to think of it, I can't think of anyone who wouldn't accept a friend request from you =P
