    [PokeCommunity.com] The Official PC Tokio Hotel Thread Nummer Eins

    Tokio Hotel is a German band founded in Magdeburg, Germany in 2001 by [from left in above picture] drummer Gustav Schäfer, singer Bill Kaulitz, guitarist Tom Kaulitz, and bassist Georg Listing. The quartet has scored four number one singles and has released two number one albums in their native country, selling nearly 5 million CDs and DVDs there. After recording an unreleased demo-CD under the name "Devilish" and having their contract with Sony BMG terminated, the band released their first German-language album, Schrei, as Tokio Hotel on Island Records in 2005. Schrei sold more than half a million copies worldwide and spawned four top five singles in both Germany and Austria. In 2007, the band released their second German album Zimmer 483 and their first English album Scream which have combined album sales of over one million copies worldwide and helped win the band their first MTV Europe Music Award for Best InterAct. The former, Zimmer 483, spawned three top five singles in Germany while the latter, Scream, spawned two singles that reached the top twenty in new territories such as Portugal, Spain and Italy. In September 2008, they won their first MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. They also picked up the Headliner award at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008 held in Liverpool on 6th November 2008. Tokio Hotel was founded by vocalist Bill Kaulitz and guitarist Tom Kaulitz, who are identical twin brothers, drummer Gustav Schäfer and bass-guitarist Georg Listing. The four met in 2001 after a live show in a Magdeburg club, where Listing and Schäfer, who knew each other from music school, watched from the audience while Bill and Tom Kaulitz played on the stage. Under the name Devilish, the band soon began playing in talent shows and small concerts. After Bill Kaulitz's participation in a children's Star Search in 2003 at age thirteen (which he lost in the quarter-final), he was discovered by music producer Peter Hoffmann. Devilish changed their name to Tokio Hotel: "Tokio", the German spelling of the Japanese city Tokyo, due to a love of the city, and "Hotel" due to their constant touring and living in hotels. The expected release of their new album, Humanoid—which will be released in both German and English simultaneously, is October 2nd, 2009.

    - You must be here long enough, and help deliver news and all that jazz, to "own" your favorite Tokio Hotel member.
    The members are owned by:
    * Bill - Savannah (sorry, guys).
    * Tom - [position open]
    * Gustav - [position open]
    * Georg - [position open]
    Got it? 0.- You need to help deliver news and junk to own them. You can request them but you'll only get them after I deem that you've done enough.

    Dominating Dictator...I mean, President: Savannah.
    Second in Command: Position Open. (Assuming you prove yourself.)

    Tokio Hotel Hierarchy:
    [positions open.]

    RULES;;

    + No flaming any members of the band or any members in the club. By this, I mean that comments like: "Omigosh, the lead singer looks like a girl/is a transgender/is gay" are not allowed, and if you have a problem with a member then PM me. It's not that hard, just click the button and tell me your problem with them and I'll see what I can do about it.

    + If you're going to post here, you have to post something worthwhile. You can't just post 500 times about how sexy Bill/Tom/Georg/Gustav is. There has to be actual reason behind your posts.

    + Delivering news is important. If you hear that, say, the album Humanoid will be out on October 2nd (which, by the way, it will), then it would be very nice of you to come and share the news with us. Make sure, though, that someone hasn't already delivered your news, because if they have then you'll look pretty stupid.

    + You have to be an active poster if you want to be part of the club staff or own your favorite member. You can't get into a position and then just leave, satisfied with what you've accomplished. Tell us if you're going to leave.

    + Be on-topic. Every few days, the topic will change. Usually it's a question, like what you think of Bill's new hair, etc. If you're going to post, then try and include the answer to the topic question in your post. It helps keep things on-topic and not spiraling into a discussion about the Middle Afes or whatever.

    Facts;;

    .Every member of the band is 100% STRAIGHT.
    .Every member of the band was born and remains to this day MALE.
    .Bill is the one with the black hair and white dreadfalls.
    .Tom is the one with the cornrows, standing next to Bill.
    .Georg is the one with the insanely long brown hair.
    .Gustav is the one with the short black hair.
    (These are all according to the first picture.)
    .Bill and Tom Kaulitz are identical twins, though their styles are complete opposites.

    Instruments;;

    Bill Kaulitz is the vocalist/lead singer.
    Tom Kaulitz is the lead guitarist/backup singer.
    Georg Listing is the bassist.
    Gustav Schäfer is the drummer.

    Stuff You Are Allowed to Make Fun of Them For That Isn't Mean;;
    because some stuff is just...wrong;;

    Bill Kaulitz's metrosexuality (meaning the fact that he's actually fashion-conscious).
    Tom Kaulitz's cornrows/dreadlocks (he head these formerly) and giant clothes, and his promiscuity.
    Georg Listing's...bathroom habits. Namely that he takes longer than even Bill (who is usually doing his makeup) in the toilet.
    Gustav Schäfer's close-to-muteness and inability to land a girl successfully.

    All right, if we're all done, then post away. I probably forgot some stuff so I'll end up editing this post a million times, but for now it seems to be good.

    Seeing as it hasn't been a month methinks that there should be something posted, ohyes xD (wow lotsa text @_@ Long read, but I like the effort you put into it)

    So news it shall be! =DD Not so good news, but people have their opinions...
    ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY RATES HUMANOID A "C"
    *taken from EW's website*
    Review Here

    First they got Europe's tweens squealing, then Tokio Hotel crossed the Atlantic and repeated the feat here, though on a significantly smaller scale. On Humanoid, their second English-language effort, the glammy Germans stick to their strengths, such as they are, piling tons of stadium-ready production on top of the band's strenuously enunciated yowling and industrial synth and guitar riffs. The album's title might be more appropriate than they realize: This music doesn't particularly sound like it was created by human beings, but it's no doubt close enough for their many fans. C

    On an opinionated note, I think the otherwordly sound of some of the songs is intentional, so yeah, to me there's nothing wrong with sticking to the theme of the album

    Well, look who finally showed up xD

    I just got my German and English versions of Humanoid and they are EPIC. No lie, I love every single song on there. There are a few that could be faster, but that's just me and my weird taste :pink_giggle:

    I love "Automatisch", still. And "Love and Death/Traümer". They're great.

    Pshh you knew I would xDD

    Heh, I wish I could have bought the German version but ehh...poorness x.x And my parents are the chinese folk/classical music type of people, so they weren't about to help out there T_T
    But yeah, there's absolutely no song on the CD I don't like.

    And I need to steal the "Love, am I watching you swim or just seeing you drown? Is it tragedy or comedy?" Lines from Love and Death. Too beautiful *weeps* Although if I'm annoyed I'll just blast "Hey You/Hey Du" until I'm dancing.

    And regarding Gustav, his nonspeakishness (@_@) is cute, even though I love it when he does speak. And besides that, his English pwns the twins' so he should totally go for it in English interviews xD

    And I requesth TOMTOM (gah I have so many nicknames for my adopted brothers x.x)

    AND TOKIO HOTEL IS IN THE US, SIGNING AT HOT TOPIC IN LA
