Here is where you can discuss the full in-series Butch and Cassidy operation (since 02) on top of our own Rockets branching out on their own in the mixed doubled "The Ole' Berate and Switch!".

    My review to come forthwith.

Yeah, I can see why you had reservations about the voice acting. Cassidy's voice was strange and Butch's was just wrong (but when is it not?). However, one thing that got me was that Namba's voice was EXACTLY THE SAME. How did PUSA manage that??

They changed a few things with the story as well, like how the first argument between Team Rocket had no mention of Giovanni...and the themes...Butch & Cassidy's made no sense. And they had James claiming to be Butch...and Butch getting mad again, but then came the line of the day:

May: "Well, his hair and voice are different..."

Sure, I might have paraphrased it a bit, but the idea's still there--THEY MADE A JOKE ABOUT THE VOICE ACTORS!! ...Yeah, yeah, it was meant to refer to how May didn't know who Butch was, but the connotation is still there.

And...yes, we did get to see rocket grunts again which we hadn't seen since...Johto days? It wasn't overly developed, though...more like just an excuse for the chaos.

So, I might be missing something, but it's been a long day and I need to go to sleep...

Because his voice actor does New!Meowth, therefore he works for PUSA now.

...My point was, how could PUSA get that VA but not manage any of the other ones?

Because he wasnt a main character VA.

That is true. Still maybe it was a very good sound alike. Professor Nappa didn't really say anything for that long so how can we judge. He said his line very quickily.

I liked this episode a lot. It was very funny. I liked the part where they mistaken James for Butch and vice versa. This had to be one of the best episodes in a long time. Well next to the latest Frountier Brain episde at the Battle Tower.

The last time I can remember where we saw this many Team Rocket grunts in an operation like this was the St. Anne episode.

What didn't make sense to me was the sudden sentimental moment about the pokeballs and the flashbacks of Ash and their pokemon. That just seemed out of place.

The ending was classic. Everything returns back to normal. The motto is said right. Team Rocket are back using their good old pitholes, which hasn't been done in a long while since before the Harley and Jessie contest episode. Then when Team Rocket sharing the cookie. That was funny.

I really like this one. 9/10

Well, I'm definitely writing a mega-review (which I haven't done since Scheme Team) for this. Hopefully be up this weekend.

Anyway, the only main issue I have is the English voice acting, but there are plenty of writing issues I got, too. It's better than the Butch/Cassidy Chronicles episodes, that's for sure. Either way, I'll save it for the review.

On a funny note, I'm rather happy they kept the "Cassidy misspeaking Namba's name", since they removed all that from Chronicles. And it's not a soundalike, Jimmy Zoppi did Namba in the 4Kids run, so he's obviously going to do the character in PUSA in a show of consistency. I'm not complaining. Although, I don't think I'll ever get used to his Butch, sad to say.

Reyna isn't far off with the St. Anne reference as the episode almost comes off as a sequel to that excellent filler and in some ways, improves. I guess it's an apology for the B/C Chronicles. Hm.

...Well, I just watched it again, and I noticed something...the voice of the Marowak trainer sounded exactly like Gary's...so that's two VAs, or were they the same person?

    And I also liked Cassidy's "bashing" of James and Botch...oops, I mean Butch ^.^;

    Teeheeheehee

Also about the St Anne episode. Didn't Ash also made a sentimental speech in that one to to rally the trainers to fight against Team Rocket? I not sure because that episode was so long ago!!!

I wonder how will Gray's PUSA voice will sound like.

From what I remembered of St. Anne. Ash didn't rally the Trainers verbally as such: he used Pikachu to show by force that he wasn't going to submit. Actually, I heard the Gary VA on the Bonsly episode, but I won't say anything else Gary appears. Although, Zoppi has filled out for Matt Milner (or is it Milter, I forget the spelling at times) on occasion.

And, I'm glad "Botch" is back. References to "Back to the Future" with Biff aside. Heh.

So does that mean Ash mature little as a person? I mean the last time this happen on the St. Anne he use force to rally the trainers. Now who know how many years later Ash is in the same situation and Ash used a different way to get the trainers all rally up. Maybe I over thinking it a bit because as we can see back at the Battle Prymiad he was a bit reckless.

Yeppie. I too am glad to see Bliff again.

...He used Pikachu, then said something like "I'm not going down without a fight" which did serve to rally the trainers...at the end of the fight, however, he had a little "celebratory monologue" so I don't know what you could say about it.

Of course, this also means that, when Gary DOES appear, he should have his old voice, or else...

My apologies if this offends some people.

With such another spectacular failure, perhaps it is time to either fire everyone in Team Rocket and hire new villains or disband the team all together. Very few businesses could last very long with such lousy workers.

I liked the story, staging a phony competition to try and steal as many Pokemon as possible, and actually holding the event to ward off suspicion. I missed Butch & Cassidy, even though they fail as much as Jessie, James & Meowth, they usually get better missions to mess up.:classic:

I agree with your stance, Ichi. My point was Ash wasn't as...verbose there as he was in this episode, but yeah, he did actually say something, but it was a double pronged effect: the attack, his short exclamation, etc. Actually, I preferred that to this episode as it came off rather preachy, unlike the subtlety of the prior episode. Eh.

Actually, Double, couldn't agree with you more. B/C have been screwing up quite a bit (particularly in the advent of Chronicles) and the other Elites haven't done well, either. It's times like this I wish Giovanni would be more proactive with this, but such things aren't going to happen. But yes, the "other" Rocket pairs have such shiny toys. Hee.
