The Path to Light and Darkness: Rated PG 17

Mathias lied on the cold stone ground feeling the crimson blood pool up around his left shoulder. He bared is teeth and grinned as he ripped off his head band and began shoving the rag into the open wound on his shoulder. He grinned and let out a small pained moan. He tried to clutch his fingers with minor success, his arm would never work quite the same way again.

"Son of a *****..." Mathias swore under his breath, his hair dangling over his eyes as he attempted to crawl to his feet. He fell over onto a wall and remained where he fell, just looking around him. "There is no way in hell I'm going to die in some crappy cave." Suddenly a small flickering light appeared far down the cave at Mathias' right. It began to grown and grow and slowly Mathias felt heat begin to engulf his body.

"Talk about light at the end of the tunnel." He remarked to himself. He closed his eyes to accept whatever fate was approaching him but then a loud screech filled the cavern and Mathias had no choice but to observe its source.

There in front of him flew a giant flaming bird that Mathias recognized as Moltres from the stories his firebreathing friend Johnny had told him. Infernos licked the walls of the cave as the Legendary bird grew closer, and even though it grew hotter... It never managed to reach an uncomfortable level. It landed and stared down at Mathias before craning its neck down low to meet him eye to eye. It took off again and began soaring in deeper down but keeping the entire cave illuminated.

Seeing the bird had triggered something in Mathias' mind, something that the dying man in the chair had said. "Even the slightest light can bring hope to the person on the furthest brink". Mathias grinned and pushed up against the wall to pull himself to his feet.

"I guess I'm not quite dead yet.." He said as he rested his right arm on the wall and followed the warm stones down towards where Moltres was flying. He walked and walked as his head began to become lighter and lighter. Eventually he was left at a doorway, with no Flaming bird in sight. He pushed open the doorway and heard a light electric buzz as the electricity seemed to kick on in the room he had entered.

There seemed to be multiple stations all overgrown with roots and other vegitation growing over them. There was a main desk, a worn down store, and what seemed to be a Pokemon center, although the only thing that seemed to survive was the actual recovery unit.

First things first, Mathias walked over to the store and started looking everywhere for at least one thing left behind that could be of SOME help to him, to his sheer amazement he found a bottle of pain pills resting on top of an odd CD looking thing. Mathis opened the bottle and swallowed what remained of the pills and took the TM hoping it could be of some use later.

"Thank god." He said swallowing the pills dry as he prayed for the relief they would hopefully bring. He gathered himself and stepped over to the Pokemon healing machine, placing his Pokemon Balls down on top of it and allowing it to flash, healing his Pokemon.

He placed the Pokeballs back in his pants and stepped out through a different pair of revolving doors leading him outside into what appeared to be an ancient colleseum. The entire thing was overgrown and roots shattered the stone seats over looking the small battle stage in the center. He reckognized the giant arena from tv once when he was a little kid, it was the Pokemon League stage where battles were fought for the championship.

"Beautiful." Mathias said with sarcasm looking around at the twisted crushed stage. Giant trees overlooked the stage and flying Pokemon soared overhead in massive groups. Odd monkey-like creatures swung from branch to branch above him. "Its amazing how all of this happened after only a couple of years... The last fight here couldnt have been much more than 5 years ago."

Suddenly one of the monkeys stopped over Mathias and dropped down on top of him. It yanked the small silver disk poking out of Mathias' pocket and began prancing about with it chewing on it and flicking it around like a toy. Suddenly another two monkeys dropped down and the trio began playing a game of frisbee.

"Hey cut that out!" Mathias yelled to the monkeys who turned to him and make small mischevious chuckling noises. Mathias felt numb and didn't have the energy to chase them around, so he decided on getting his disc back the hard way. "Come on you three, lets show them how its done!" As his Pokemon landed and were ready for battle Mathias pulled out his Pokedex and aimed it at the three wild Pokemon.

Aipom
The Long Tail Pokemon
Normal type
It lives atop tall trees. When leaping from branch to branch, it deftly uses its tail for balance.
Its tail is so powerful that it can use it to grab a tree branch and hold itself up in the air.
It uses its tail to pluck fruits that are out of reach. Its tail is more adept than its real hands.

"Go Shuppet! Use knock off!" Shuppet dashed at the Aipom holding the disk and knocked it to the ground tossing it back to Mathias. The two other Aipom on either side of Shuppet slammed their tails down at her, but because SHuppet was a ghost the attacks went straight through her and the two Pokemon ended up striking eachother.

"Great job Shuppet! Now you use Encore Slakoth!" The two Pokemon obeyed and Slakoth began lazily clapping its hands at the two Aipom. As if by magic the two Pokemon repeated there assault striking eachother again and again. Meanwhile theyre boss, the one who was holding the CD, jumped over the two and made a dash for Mathias' Pokemon.

"Mime Jr. use your Barrier attack!" Mathias commanded his Pokemon who put up a reflective shield made out of energy. The Aipom merely jumped over it and began tickling Slakoth. Slakoth began laughing out loud and stopped clapping, releasing the other two Aipom from their pattern. Together the three Aipom readied their Palms and struck Slakoth one after the other until he was knocked unconscious. Mathias returned his Pokemon to its ball and clenched his teeth tight.

"Alright time to get serious! Go for a Confusion Night Shade Combo!" Suddenly darkness spilled up from the ground and grasped one of the aipoms while another was lifted by an unseen psychic force. The two were thrown against eachother causing them to get knocked out.

"Good job! Lets finish this with a Knock off!" Mathias pointed at the remaining Aipom with his weak arm and his Pokemon began to glide at it. Just as Shuppet was about to make contact Aipom threw up what looked like a baton and a small log took its place as the attack target. The Aipom popped up behind Mime Jr. and swung down its tail.

"Use your Barrier!" Mathias yelled. The Aipoms tail was stopped dead short innitially but then it took another swing at Mime Jr. and took it out by sweeping its feet. It went to slam down on Mime Jr. again.

"Copycat!" Mime Jr. stole Aipoms attack and replaced himself with a nearby boulder. The Aipoms tail bashed off of the rock and Aipom jumped back in pain. "Now finish it with your confusion!" Mathias yelled and Aipom was slammed with a blast of psychic energy knocking it out against the ground.

Mathias felt the medication begin to kick in as his body began going numb, he looked down at the shiny disk in his hand and took a long deep sigh. "What the hell is this disk thing anyways?"

Mathias clutched his shoulder and looked around him at the ruins of the stadium. At one time the rows and rows of empty seats were filled with people who came merely for a chance to see a good battle. But now because of all the corruption going on in Kanto the stadium would never be full again. It made him think of home, how if he doesn't succeed in taking Beo down it could end up just like this place.

"An entire region in ruins..." Mathias said to his two Pokemon who were looking around with him.

"You sound so sad! Want me to bring you a tissue?" Mathias recognized the voice and felt the veins in his forehead begin to pound.

"Seriously man, what the hell do you want from me? Can't you just leave me alone?" Mathias responded.

"If I didn't warn you about Beo then you would've died... I think you owe me your life kid." Tai said back grinning.

"You told me to join that maniacal bastard, and thanks for the heads up, that clearly helped me out a bunch." He said pointing to the still bleeding arm.

"Minor setbacks... But hey, you should be proud kid! You not only defied Beo but, by some miracle, managed to survive. But hey, now your in a bit of a predicament aren't you? Your a soldier without an army to belong to... I can help you get Zypher back, that is of course, if you want my help." Tai flipped the subject but he was right. As much as Mathias hated this guy he was probably his best bet of getting Zypher back.

"What do you need?" Mathias gave in.

"Glad to see your so cooperative." He laughed." Now there's this Pokemon who I'm after, a Pokemon strong enough to change absolutely everything in Kanto. Sadly, ever since I've chosen a darker path I've been left without a means to get at it... Until now of course." Tai grinned at Mathias. Mathias rustled his fingers through his own hair as he took a deep thought, sadly the medication was a tad stronger than expected and Mathias was really starting to lose it now.

"Why me?" Mathias kept his sentence simple as he started going numb.

"This Pokemon only appears when someone is dreaming and unfortunately for me that is a problem considering at best I get short nightmares, I do have a feeling though that you dream quite often am I right?"

"I suppose." Mathias simply responded. Suddenly out of the overgrown broken arena came three giant Nidokings each with giant red flaring eyes. Mathias looked down at his Pokemon and was about to give a command before Tai struck his hand outward.

"Snorlax use rollout, Steelix use crunch!" Tai yelled and his Pokemon made the fight look like a piece of cake. Mathias started to drift out of consciousness before hearing some parting words from Tai.

"Listen kid, do this for me and I promise you that this stadium will be as great as it once was... Oh and you might need this too." He held out a moon shaped stone and the last thing Mathias saw was the cold rock in his hand before blacking out.

Shaun was standing in front of you grinning, his Skarmory matching that grin with a death stare.

"Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, what are you doing in the reverse world brother?" Shaun asked with a deadly voice, you can tell he is gearing up to kill you. As you tell him it's none of his business.

"Ha don't make me laugh, everything in this god forsaken world these days is my business, and I'm getting paid pretty handsomely in power to do the things I've done" Shaun said nodding for Skarmory to get ready to strike.

"It's nothing personal, but honestly I barley know you.. And I have a job to protect this world trust me you wouldn't want Beo.. erhm.. Me on your bad side" Shaun said grinning as Skarmory charges at you and you quickly react by grabbing any pokeball you can as the Skarmory is deadly fast.

After a long hard fight you suddenly begin to find yourself growing weaker, and you realize it is due to the harsh conditions of this reverse world, where as Shaun is use to them. You fall to one knee and Shaun slowly walks up to you. Skarmory is holding your pokemon down on the ground by it's talon squashing it's neck.

"Now brother I hope you've made peace with this world… that staff will belong to me one day!!" Shaun says as he goes to slice at your throat with knifes at the end of his knuckles but suddenly he is lifted into the air, along with Skarmory.

"Ah! Stupid unown where did you come from!" Shaun begins shouting as you look up to see that he is being thrown around by several unown.

"Tai!!! When I get out of here you will die Tai! You will die!" Shaun shouts in pure rage as the unown enclose on him and Skarmory and the quickly vanish. You begin to wonder where exactly they were taken. At the same time you feel lucky to be alive.

Post 2
You quickly get up and begin making your way through this strange strange world. Your lungs gasping and clawing at your chest as the lack of oxygen in this place is quickly starting to affect you, but you had no way to stop it. Finally you come upon what appears to be a lake, only difference is it's floating in the air hanging upside down.

You being jumping at the lake trying to drink some of the water when finally you scoop some into your hands and swoosh it down to your mouth. The pure feeling among you lips tastes amazing, but there was something different about this water… Something odd, you begin feeling different inside, and suddenly a voice comes from your bag.

"Gil, one thing whatever you do don't eat or drink anything inside of the reverse world!" Tai shouts as the connection is cut off of the small radio device Tai shoved into your bag. But it was to late you were feeling weaker, and different… suddenly you pass out.

"Hey wake up!" A feminine voice says shoving against your shoulders trying to wake you. You slowly begin to open your eyes and standing over you is a familiar looking women with purple hair. You recognize her as one of the elite four members Loreli! Only now she seems to have aged, and her hair is much longer and frays out to the side. You begin to question what she is doing there.

"Me? Well you see I was supposed to keep an eye on you, as the others from the lightning mercenaries kept an eye on there chosen dex holder" she said giving you some water.

"Anyways we all lost contact with you at Viridian Forest when Beo sent you away to different corners of Kanto. When I finally found you it was to late, and I was confronted by Beo… he then trapped me in here and I'd say it's been about five years or so now" she said as you get a deranged look on your face as it hasn't even been a day since you joined the Dark Brotherhood.

"Yes I know that… but I think time runs differently in this world for some odd reason, ether way I need to get you out of here, somehow.. But at least I know I can bring you back to the others" she says as you then realize you have a choice to make.

Here she was a woman offering you a chance to join the rebel cause again, and go back to the light. Or you could kill her sinking deeper into the darkness and fulfilling what you think is your destiny of becoming stronger then Shaun and getting that staff.

The final question here is, have you sunk far enough into the shadows to kill a women, who is just trying to help?

Chapter 2
Urging Chaos
You now instantly realized why Koga had you take off your dark cloaks, and wear your street clothes. You needed to be in disguise, much like a ninja as himself. You were to befriend a man, trick him, and then kill him. Did that make any sense to you, in a way yes, but only because you had given into the darkness.

"Can I help you?" Falkner says noticing you are in deep thought at the moment. Quickly snapping out of it you respond with the first thing that comes to your mind.

"Hmm, maybe you can help me" Falkner says questioning you as you ask him what he needs help with.

"Well I've been sent here by the Johto League council to decide if it is time for Johto to take action, before this threat threatens our region is well, so I was wondering what your assumption of the state of Kanto was?" Falkner asks as part of you want's to lie and tell him the truth while the other part knows your being watched so you have to lie. You begin telling him how much better it is in Kanto now because the darkness is telling you to. On the other hand you're still having some slight problems adjusting to the lies.

"Very well then, I still think I should stick around Kanto some more, maybe check out the other towns, it won't be much of a problem with Pidgeotto here" Falkner says as he lets his arm out for the huge bird to land on.

These two were making you realize what true friendship was with your pokemon, after your earlier debacle with Cyndaquil. Suddenly two Dark Brotherhood members appear in front of you, and one of them winks at you. Making you realize they want you to team up with Falkner to gain his trust.

"Who the heck are these punks?!?!" Falkner says with sarcasm as he obviously still has his sense of humor from not being around the darkness.

"Give me a hand here Grecko" he says as you call out one of your pokemon. This was every ten year old boy's dream to team up with a famed gym leader like Falkner in a tag team battle, unfortunately you couldn't let this be very fun as the after actions left a dry taste in your mouth.

"Grecko what are you doing?!" Falkner screams out as he can notice some shadows begin circling around your ankles. The darkness was begin to consume your soul and spirit..

Chapter 2
Former Evil Gone Good?

Your mind is whirling as you stare at the red R on the shirt. Questions begin to whirl through your head as you look at it. Finally you voice some of these questions, tone curious and maybe even a little outrage. The most prominent questions revolve around his thought being dead, though with all of these answers Giovanni stays clipped and doesn't really answer them. This might make you a bit angry, but eventually you get over it and accept the short answers. Finally, Giovanni mentions something that immediately sparks your interest; your brother. You look at him instantly, paying attention now more than ever.

He mentions your brother being in Team Rocket (or helping Giovanni, you don't really pay attention to which) and instantly you dislike this man. Your feelings for your brother make you turn away and question why you should help Giovanni, when he already has your brother there. Giovanni tells you that you're just as valuable as your brother, something that once again makes you interested. You sort of like how he seems to see you as your own person, making you sort of want to help him out more.

"I need you to swim down there," Giovanni says, pointing down to the bottom of the large lake. You look at him and question why, saying that it would be insane to attempt to breathe down there.

Giovanni shakes his head. "It's not. There's a reason. The gym leader, Misty, should be down there. I want you to see if you can find her, and if you can bring her back with you."

You look at the lake, debating the things that could happen, and then finally agree. Giovanni then pulls an odd looking device from his pocket. "This will help you breathe under water. Here's an extra, just incase you don't have a water Pokemon." Giovanni hands you the device and then glances down at the lake. He then looks back at you expectantly. You jump in the water after getting ready, and then begin to swim down towards the gym.

It isn't too bad a swim, at least until you get to the doors of the gym. There, just a few feet in front of you, appear two Gyarados. Defeating them seems to be the only way to get into the gym. They don't seem to be capturable, so it looks like you'll have to just go ahead and battle them.

Finally, after the long battle with the Gyarados, the gym is free range. You swam through the gates and might be surprised to find that you're now able to surface. It shouldn't take too long to stumble upon the weary gym leader, looking a bit worse for the wear. Before you can say a word, however, the gym leader takes note of you and attacks. It's time for you to battle Misty, and her three water Pokemon she'll use to attack you with.

As you battle, it might be wise to attempt tell Misty who you are and your purpose, but she doesn't believe you. No matter how hard you try, it doesn't seem like you can get through to her. She thinks you're with the Dark Brotherhood, and you've been sent to do away with her. As the battle comes to a close and you defeat the leader, she gives you a tired out look and seems to give up. The passion that used to thrive in her eyes disappears.

"Fine. You win. Go ahead and kill me," Misty says, voice just as weary and broken as her eyes.

You once again try to convince her that you're not with the Brotherhood, denying it furiously. That's when, all of a sudden, you feel someone's presence behind you. A look over your shoulder shows you a Dark Brotherhood member.

Chapter 2
Death of a Legend?
Post 1
There he stood, a legend among young trainers at one point, Bruno was now chained to a wall. He was reduced to watching you himself die at the hands of the very trainer that he selected for this journey, and slowly a tear rolled down his eyes.

"It's crazy how things work out like this, I've watched you grow over the past two years and now I'm going to die at your hands" Bruno says with an upset look on his face as you question what he is talking about.

"Isn't it obvious? You weren't chosen for this dangerous journey out of fate, no it was because I recommended you to Zypher, we all had a hand in recommending one of you" Bruno laughs as he lifts his head up and you can see the truth and the pain in his eyes. But you don't care you question him again about who recommended them.

"I'm in a group called the lightning mercenaries, each of us were to chose a young trainer to join the clan of hope, basically to take over when Zypher died. We have been looking over your shoulders since you before you began, I was always there incase you were in danger, unfortuantly Beo separated you from us at Virdian Forest" Bruno says as you begin to start realizing certain things like why you've always felt someone was watching you, and why exactly you were chosen.

"When I first spotted you, ha you were a strong willed boy but the shadows broke you down and I'm very sorry I wasn't able to help…" Bruno says as you don't care anymore, you take the dagger by it's handle and charge at the man. Suddenly he stands straight up and thrusts his arms' to the ground breaking the chains from the wall, he was free.

"So you really would kill a man, are you that lost already Jake?" Bruno says as he pulls a pokeball out from his pant's pocket. "If you want to kill me your going to have to beat me in a battle.

Post 2
You fall to one knee, defeated. The world around you comes to a halting stop all of a sudden. You start to wonder if the darkness was actually worth giving into, and if it actually even made someone more powerful. After all it didn't give you enough power to beat Bruno. No what Bruno had was brute, and pure strength. What you had now was tainted power.

"Your not lost yet Jake you can come back with me, that would be the first step and then from that point we could work together to figure out how to help you" Bruno says as you an anger wells up inside you that you have never felt before.

"Who ever said you needed help?" A voice questions from behind you as you turn around to see that it is the cloaked man that has been following you for a long time now. You question what he means.

"You know exactly what I mean Jake, now it's time your ready to embrace the darkness and shadows give in to them" the cloaked man says as you now have a very important decision to make.

Below is what happens if you give into the darkness:

The cloaked man vanishes and suddenly your body begins encircled in a dark aura of shadows.

"Jake no!" Bruno yells running over towards you, but it was now to late as you find everything around you moves slower now and you plunge the dagger Beo handed you deep into the stomach of Bruno. The man falls to one knee, holding his stomach in sheer pain.

"No… Jake.. the battle is lost… all hope is gone" Bruno says with his last gasp of air before falling unconscious, dead on the floor a puddle of blood surrounding him. You slowly drop the dagger to the ground.

What did he mean all hope is gone?

Below is what happens if you chose not to give into the darkness:

You deny the cloaked man's words and he suddenly vanishes like always, and you give Bruno a hateful stare.

"Jake please come back with me" Bruno says, as you know if you don't kill the man then Beo will surely have your head. But something is still holding you back, your just not quite sure this is your fate… Not yet.

"You can't stay here Jake, if you do then were doo…." Bruno starts to say before being stopped in his sentence as his eyes turn cold and lifeless, suddenly Bruno falls to the ground and standing behind him is Tai Fayling, holding a bloody sword.
"Let's count that as a favor" Tai says before disappearing.

Was fate toying with you? And was it Bruno's fate to die here today no matter what you decided to do?

Chapter Two
Mathias

I Dream, A Dream, I Never Wanted

You awake to an odd sensation. There is a feeling of plush sheets around you, and your head seems to be cradled on a pillow of sorts. As you push up from the bed, you look around in disbelief. This is your home in Saffron City. You look around at the room in wonder, unsure of what had happened to make everything like this. As you get up from the bed, you walk over to the window and shove open the blinds. The sight before you is Saffron City, but it is much different than the rest of the world. It was full of bustling people and happy smiles, grass growing everywhere. People were playing with Pokemon as well. You run downstairs, only to find your family there.

Though you are unsure what is going on, you feel much happier than previously. All of your family is there together, and the world isn't in shambles anymore. You might converse for a few minutes with your siblings or parents, and then say you're going to go out. Basically you can do whatever now, just remember that the city is as beautiful as ever. Go out and eat, go play with some friends, whatever. Just keep the happy tone up.

Later that day when you go home late in the evening, you notice something off about your house. It is pitch black inside and out, making it look like no one is home. This immediately puts you on the alert, and you carefully approach the dark building. As you walk inside the house, you call out for its inhabitants. When you get no reply, you flick on the light switch next to the wall. Soon, pure horror covers your features as you look at the bodies of your family. Suddenly there is a loud boom from outside, and you might figure that it would be good to get away and see what was happening.

As soon as you step outside, you notice burning buildings and people screaming, running all over the place. The town went from beautiful to horrifying in less than five minutes, and as you look around you see something atop Silph Co.'s building. It's an odd looking Pokemon holding a scythe, but you don't care. You head up to battle, uncaring that the legendary Darkrai awaits.

Post 2

Finally you reach the top of the building, facing (very literally) your worst nightmare. You might scream angry things at the Pokemon, but it simply regards you without expression. In the end, you challenge Darkrai to a battle that you refuse to believe you will lose. However, Darkrai is just much too strong.

The Lightning Mercenaries!

There she stood, with a bright smile on her face it was almost good to see a smile for once in this horrible world that was now Kanto. But you still had to many unanswered questions for this women and you were hoping to get some answers.

"Listen, I know you would like some answers right now but honestly we don't have time… We need to…" Sly was saying before interrupting her and saying you aren't going anywhere until you get answers.

"Ok fine get comfortable this may take awhile" Sly says as you both sit down against the rugged mountainside and relax as she sends out her Blaziken and Electabuzz to keep watch over the area.

"The first thing you need to now is if Beo kills Zypher were all doomed, that is the last thing that is keeping Beo as himself if kills him all the darkness will consume and then will all be dead" Sly says putting a serious face on.

"Secondly the reason I have been gone for five years is because before the Indigo League I saw Beo as he truly was, an insane murderer and so being safe a fled Kanto for the time being. She says looking over her shoulders to make sure everything was still safe.

"Third of all the importance of the lightning mercenaries was very important, we each had a specific job" She says before sighing, something was wrong and you can tell instantly that they had failed in there missions.

"Each of us chose one trainer who we thought was suitable enough to help stop Beo, and then we recommended person to Zypher and Oak. Each of us were to keep an eye on you throughout this journey and keep you from harms way" Now you realize that she was the reason you always felt someone was watching you.

"Unfortunately we ran into complications at Viridian Forest when you got separated, by the time we each found you, some had been compromised" Sly sad with an angry look as she pounded the ground. You then ask Sly the most important question… what did she mean by compromised..

"I mean they joined Beo… three of them have joined him… hopefully the people that were watching over them can help save them" Sly says as both of you suddenly hear a thud as her Blaziken comes flying through the side of the mountain causing boulders to fall over your head.

"Get your team ready!!" Sly shouts as Blaziken and Electabuzz come to her side as four dark brotherhood members begin circling you.

"Hello Sly" the man says with an old raspy voice.

"Blaine…" She replies with a smug look on her face as the man removes his hood to show a bald head and a gray mustache…

Post 2

Standing in front of you was the Cinnibar Island gym leader Blaine now working for Beo.

"Sooo this is Cain?" Blaine questions Sly but you could tell he already knew the answer to that.

"You stay away from her Blaine! She already refused Beo's offer!" She said before turning to. "RUN CAIN AND DON"T LOOK BACK!" Sly yelled as she had Blaziken and Electabuzz blasts back the trainers making a clear path for you to run.

"Take Sly away!" Blaine ordered as ten men in cloaks appeared around her and jumped at her… She then vanished into the shadows with them. But you barely saw any of it as you continued running away before you ran right into Blaine falling flat to your butt.

"Tsk, Tsk, you can't go anywhere we have plans for you" Blaine says as he calls out a Magmar.

Moves: Lava plume, Fire Punch, Confuse ray, smokescreen

You put up a valiant fight but you are no much for the second toughest gym leader in Kanto as both your pokemon are knocked out.

"Nice try" he says grinning as he snaps his finger and several black cloaked trainers appear around you, as they make there way to grab ahold of you when suddenly they are all stopped in there tracks and start floating into the air covered in a blue aura.

"What in the world!" Blaine yells before giving a smirk and vanishing as the other cloaked trainers are thrown into the side of the cliff and fall unconscious. Suddenly you hear a strange giggling coming from above you and you look up to see a tiny pinkish pokemon with a long tail giggling intensely.

Ping!

The pokeball had come to a stop, but Gil wasn't aware of that. He was only aware of that single glowing red eye that was watching him with sick amusement. They knew each other, and how could they not? This was the same Dusknoir that had eaten his father, the one that set him on the deranged path he was on now.

"Dusk…" it breathed, disgusting mist coming out of its vile mouth on its stomach as it floated above Gil, eye narrowed mockingly. It opened its mouth, pausing to grin sardonically, before blowing softly in Gil's face. It held the smell of death.

The effect was immediate. Growlithe let out a ferocious snarl that Gil didn't know he had in him before opening his mouth and launching the hottest and largest Ember's Gil had seen so far. "Growll!"

"Duus," Dusknoir hissed, slinking back in mere agitation, but that was more than enough for Gil to snap out of his state. He wasn't (couldn't be!) that little boy anymore. He was an enraged teen that killed ghosts without fear now, so he would not be on his knees in the face of this monster.

"Go!" he screamed, tossing all of his pokeballs. With a burst of white light, his entire team stood protectively in front of him while Dusknoir's band of Duskull's floated dangerously close.

"Murkrow!"

"Mudkip!"

"Riolu!"

It was instant. The once quiet world was filled with the haunting cries of the ghosts and the caws, grunts and snarls of Gil's pokemon. Dusknoir once again came closer to Gil, his arm outstretched, and Gil scrambled back. "Growlithe!" he cried out to his pokemon, not just needing, but wanting protection.

"Lith!" Growlithe barked, jumping protectively in front of Gil and firing another blast of burning hot Ember's.

"Duskk," Dusknoir hissed, fist crackling with electricity as it swung at Growlithe.

"Murk!" Murkrow caw, spinning as he dove his beak into a Duskull and causing the disgusting ghost to shriek in pain before he turned his attention on his teammate. "Kro!" he spat angrily, opening his beak wide and blasting a jet of Icy Wind.

The Dusknoir faltered, and that was enough time for Growlithe to ease away from the Thunder Punch. "Nor!" Dusknoir howled angrily. The attacks hitting him were minor annoyances, yes, but they were annoyances that drew his attention away from his prey.

"Riiol," Riolu purred, red eyes gleaming as it took in all the Duskull's with its Foresight. It was like a beam spread across the battle area, making the ghosts physical. "Rio," Riolu grinned at Mudkip. With a wink, Riolu charged forward and slammed a Force Palm directly across a Duskull's face.

"Muud!" Mudkip cried gleefully, blasting a Water Gun above Riolu's head to blast a hovering enemy away while Riolu's back was turned. "Kip!" Mudkip barked happily before yelping as another Duskull slammed into her side with Astonish.

"Luu!" Riolu yelled angrily, red eyes glinting dangerously as he tried to control his breathing. He was still tired from the battle against Gil, but Mudkip was even worse off. She was laying on her side and looked like she wouldn't be able to get up if she got hit a few more times. "Riol!" Palms flying, Riolu managed to smash one Duskull directly into another that had been about to perform Astonish. The ghostly energy enveloped them both.

"Duusk!" they screamed in agony, giving Riolu satisfaction, but he knew he couldn't focus only on those two. There were a whole lot more.

"Krow! Krow! Murkrow!" Murkrow cawed mockingly, flying through the air with twists, turns and angling all about as Dusknoir continued to blast Shadow Ball after Shadow Ball at the pesky creature.

"Gorl!" Growlithe snarled, lunging at a distracted ghost and digging his teeth into Dusknoir's back. "Litt," he gurgled, face wrinkling in disgust by the taste.

"Nooiir!" Dusknoir yowled, now thoroughly frustrated.

"Kill it!" Gil snarled, eyes wide with insanity and dark with murder on his mind. "Kill it, kill it!"

"Dusk…" That evil red eye narrowed mockingly. You think you can kill me? it seemed to say. Really, what was this human thinking? He was much too strong for these weaklings. "Dus." Dark energy began to encircle Dusknoir, and before Gil could order Growlithe to get away, a powerful Dark Pulse blasted the whole area, knocking everybody down.

Riolu, whom had been cackling like an excited imp as he slapped another Duskull into unconsciousness, screamed as the blast tore into his body and sent him tumbling head over tail. He may be a fighting type, and dark types may be weak against him, but that attack was more than enough to make him winded and very hurt. Anymore major attacks and he would be out.

"Muurkwo!" Murkrow cawked, wings flailing as they glowed with a Wing Attack, hitting all Duskull's that he could. The blast had sent him flying through the air without control, and even though he still managed to take down these weaker ghosts, the crash landing was gonna… oh yea, that really hurt. "Muur," Murkrow grumbled, face in the ground.

"Liite!" Growlithe howled. Being the closest one to the attack, Growlithe took the most amount of damage and was sent spinning and tumbling across the ground where he finally slammed into a twisted tree where he just lay there whimpering.

Gil was also sent tumbling away. He curled up as he rolled, bringing his arms to cover and protect his face until he had finally come to a stop. "Bastard," he hissed, body cut and eyes watering from the pain before blanching as he took in the fallen form of Mudkip. Her body was heavily bruised and she was knocked out completely. What had he been thinking, sending out such a weakened pokemon to this battle? "Mudkp," he whispered, reaching out a hand to pet the unconscious water type, but before he could even graze her skin, a cold, sickly hand wrapped around his neck and hauled him into the air,

"Dusk…"

Gil's eyes widened and his breath literally left him. Not just from fright, but from the hand cutting his off his circulation. Even still, he managed a bitter sneer. Scum, his mind whispered. Murderous ghost. Kill the ghost. Kill the ghost. Kill the ghost…

"Kill the ghost," he managed to whisper before gasping as the hand tightened around his neck. Distantly, Gil could hear his pokemon begin to move slowly in the background, snarling in anger at the treatment of their master. The Duskull had been blasted away by their own leader, being so weak against dark attacks.

"Luu!" Riolu yelled angrily, jumping at Dusknoir in an effort to save Gil, but Dusknoir simply swatted his other arm and sending the poorpokemon right into the hard ground. "Lu," Riolu whimpered, holding his stomach.

Gil coughed and hacked as he tried to wiggle out the hold, but once more it tightened to the point he could no longer breathe. "…e'lp," he tried to get out, tears falling freely.

"Liithe!" came his Growlithe's howl, and he could feel heat near him. He heart Dusknoir grunt in pain and guessed that the fire pup had launched an Ember, but from the frantic yelp, Dusknoir had sent his own attack.

"Krow!" came the enraged claw, and even though Gil's vision was starting to blur, he could feel a blast of cool air before a squawk of pain filled the air. It was easy to guess that Murkrow had blasted a jet of Icy Wind and was punished for it.

"Dusk su dusk," the Dusknoir cackled, finally relenting on his grip to allow Gil just enough to breathe, but not enough to escape his grasp. "Nooir," the voice crooned, and Gil's vision began to clear. He blinked, noticing that Dusknoir was holding Mudkip in his other hand.

"Mudkip," Gil whispered before his eye widened and he kicked, scratched, wiggled and did all that he could in a frantic display to get out of this monster's hold. "No… no!" he screamed, face becoming ugly as it twisted into a look of pure venom.

The Dusknoir cackled, knowing that Gil knew what he was about to do. His mouth opened slowly into a mocking open mouth smile. It was the same smile he had used before. "Dusk…"

"No!"

And the mouth was completely open, Mudkip being thrown in before it snapped closed. The next set of sounds was bones being broken and mutilated. A mixture of red and blue blood (Mudkip's blood!) leaked out of the gapping mouth as that haunting laughter filled the air.

"Noir." Dusknoir opened his mouth and lifted Gil up higher to see from within, and if Dusknoir's grip hadn't kept his bile at bay, he would have vomited. There, the disgusting form of Mudkip, was bloodied and completely broken. There was no doubt in his mind the water type was dead. Another one to this creature… he had lost another one…

And then Gil snapped.

"SABLEYE!"

"Nooir!" Dusknoir cried out in pain, instantly dropping Gil to the ground where he finally heaved. He crawled backwards on all four, momentarily blinded before he felt Riolu's firm paws lead him away and Growlithe's soothing tongue and Murkrow's presence on his shoulder. Finally, he opened his eyes.

"Leyeye!"

He gapped, watching Sableye (the same one!?) slash with an animalistic fury at Dusnoir's belly. The Sableye's claws were encompassed with dark energy, and whatever it was, it was making the enemy squeal in pain.

"Sablye!" Mouth wide open to show off its jagged teeth, a Shadow Ball burst forth from Sableye's mouth, but Dusknoir had gathered energy to form his own Shadow Ball. The two attacks hit, causing a minor explosion.

"Duskk," came the deadly voice, but it was met with "Saa." Gil had never seen such a vicious looking pokemon. Sableye was hunched over, moving on assassins feet with his teeth bared. His crystallized eyes seemed to glint strangely with a hidden power.

"Dusknoir!" Dusknoir cried, rising high into the air before, with a burst of speed, he raced at Sableye, body glowing a bright brown.

"Sableye!" Sableye cried out, sinking into the ground and into the shadows, just narrowly avoiding the Giga Slam attack. Sableye was lucky, because in his spot was a giant hole. "Leye!" Sableye screamed, finally coming out of Shadow Sneak and slamming into Dusknoir and causing it to groan in pain.

Beside him, Gil's pokemon shouted happily, seeing that this brute was coming down. Who was this Sableye, and why was he so strong? They worried about that, but not enough to lend their own helping attacks.

"Growlithe!" A blast of burning hot Ember's raced toward Dusknoir just as "Murkrow!" unleashed his Icy Wind attack and "Riolu!" ran forward and slammed his fist into Dusknoir. The three of them cried out happily as the hulking ghost moan loudly and seemed to sink to the ground. Was it… yes! It was going down.

"Kill it," Gil whispered as the four pokemon stood protectively in front of him, but Sableye seemed to give the fallen pokemon no other thought as he slid into Gil's side and held him tightly. "Kill it," he repeated, eyes wide.

"With pleasure," came a cold voice, causing everyone's head to snap up.

There, directly above them, was a great metallic bird pokemon with a shiny green sheen. Its beak was poised and deadly, and its sharp looking wings beat steadily. The monster was powerful, and on its back was a boy with black hair and black clothing. Gil blinked, recognizing the boy from the hideout, but he also seemed familiar in a different way…

"Skarmory, Night Slash," the boy (Shaun?) purred.

With a high pitched screech that made Gil cringe, the Skarmoy made a slashing motion with his wings that sent jagged energy spikes sailing straight at a horrified Dusknoir. Before the fallen monster could even scream, the attack tore through his body, and then he was no more.

Gil swallowed heavily and rose to his feet and watched with wary eyes as the shiny Skarmoy landed softly and Shaun hopped off the flying beast. Geeze, how many shinies did this kid have?

Shaun gave Gil a dark smile as he pet Skarmory under his chin with nimble fingers. For a moment, Gil felt as if he were in the presence of someone who was far superior, but he shrugged that off and fixed the boy with his paranoid stare before reeling back as Shaun's dark smile turned into a sinister grin.

"Hello, baby brother," he crooned, and it sent Gil and his pokemon into shock.

Brother… he had a brother… named Shaun…

Well damn, how could he have not noticed early?

"To be fair we never saw much of each other," Shaun said, his eyes piercing into Gil's and seemingly reading his thoughts. "I knew you didn't recognize me." His grin widened. "What has happened to you, baby brother? You look so… unstable."

Gil swallowed. "Look who's talking," he snarled back.

Shaun snorted and, behind him, Skarmory made a clicking sound with his beak. They were obviously amused with his tone. "Ah, I suppose you are right," Shaun allowed, tilting his head in a manner similar to Gil's. "Now tell me," he purred, voice suddenly dangerous, "what are your doing in the reverse world, baby brother?"

Gil really didn't like that tone…

Kabir felt his head take a dangerous lurch along with his stomach as he stared at the R. It seemed to keep his gaze completely fixed, almost as if he couldn't bring himself to rip his eyes away and look somewhere else. As Kabir looked at the mark, he began to wonder how it was possible. The two Pokemon had almost proved that this was in fact Giovanni, and not some pathetic look alike. Kabir opened his mouth several times, but for some reason he just couldn't form his thought into exact words. He cleared this throat, opened his mouth, and decided to try once more. He knew what he was going to say.

"What the hell? Is this some sick freaking joke?" he practically snarled. "I thought you were dead. Everyone thought you were dead."

"I'm obviously not," Giovanni replied curtly, still eyeing the water.

Kabir's face turned from surprise to annoyance rather quickly. He didn't like how Giovanni had just so suddenly brushed off his questions, it pissed him off. Finally, Kabir let out a heavy sigh and resigned himself to looking at the waters. He didn't want to ask more questions anyway, because Kabir had a rather bad feeling that they were just going to lead to more curt answers. Just as Kabir was starting to feel a bit awkward about standing there, Giovanni shifted and looked at him instead of the water. Kabir looked up with a raised eyebrow, meeting Giovanni's even gaze with one of his own. Giovanni smirked slightly at him.

"You have a brother, don't you?"

Kabir's eyes narrowed and he gave Giovanni a rather harsh look of loathing. "Which one are you talking about?"

"Not blood related, are they?" Giovanni pressed, without really bothering to answer Kabir's question. Kabir glanced away, staring at the ground silently. "I didn't think so. But I'm getting beside the point here. In any case, your brother has started to work for Team Rocket as well, in the researching branch. He's very useful." Kabir's upper lip curled and he glared at Giovanni.

"Then why the hell do you need me?" he snapped angrily. "You already have my brother. He's probably better at everything anyway."

Giovanni's eyebrow rose silently. "Actually, I doubt it. You see..." Giovanni began, taking a step closer to Kabir. "Your brother isn't a major field-man. He can battle very well, but as for other things he's much more suited in the lab. You, on the other hand..." Giovanni trailed off, smirking at Kabir. "You're perfect for it. I don't expect you to go to the lab and sit there and research. No, you're much better suited for battling and harsh conditions."

Kabir found himself growing interested as Giovanni made him seem more valuable. He, for once, felt like he wasn't the only person who thought in a high manner of himself. "I..." Kabir began, and then faltered. "What is it you want?"

"I need you to swim down there," Giovanni said, stepping away from Kabir and pointing down to the water. Kabir's eyebrow rose and he grew curious.

"How would that even be possible?" Kabir snapped. "I'd drown."

"No, you won't. It's not impossible. There's a reason too. The gym leader, Misty, should be down there. I want you to see if you can find her, and if you can bring her back with you." Giovanni made it sound so simple, but Kabir couldn't hardly fathom if it would be simple or difficult in the long run.

Finally, Kabir knew what he was going to do. With a heavy sigh, he nodded. Giovanni looked at him from the corner of his eye, hands in his pockets and gaze not giving away anything. "I'll go down there and get Misty for you. But how am I supposed to breathe? You never really answered that particular question," Kabir said. He tore his gaze away from the water to, once again, look at the Rocket leader. Giovanni chuckled a dark chuckle, and then pulled something from his pocket. Kabir looked at it curiously, noting that it looked like a motorized fan or something. Giovanni pointed to it.

"This will help you breathe under water," he said. He pointed to the mouthpiece, "Put your mouth here and there you go. That's all there is to it." He tossed it at Kabir, who caught it easily. Then Giovanni pulled a second one from his pocket. "And here is another one, just incase you have a Pokemon that might need to breathe." This time, he handed it to Kabir. Kabir shoved the device in his pocket, figuring that it would come in handy most with Kadabra. There was no way Geodude would get much battle time in this city.

Without hesitating, Kabir unlaced his shoes and kicked them off his feet. He glanced at Giovanni, who was simply watching him. Without a word, Kabir dropped his pack to the floor gently. Kabir then tugged off his socks and stuffed them inside his shoes. Then he quickly tugged off his sweatshirt and tossed it on the ground next to his shoes. After that, Kabir slipped his black T-shirt over his head as well. He was left in his jeans, and Kabir found that it was a bit cold. He glanced at the water, and then turned his attention to Giovanni.

"I expect a blanket when I get back," he said lightly, and then shoved off the land and dove into the crisp water.

Kabir vaguely hoped Giovanni could take a joke as he pulled the breath thing out of his pocket and put it to his lips. Soon Kabir found that it was easy to breathe, almost as if he was back up there with the Rocket boss. Kabir found that it wasn't very difficult to get down there at all, and that made him feel a bit uneasy. He didn't know if it was a good thing that he could simply waltz right into the gym, because Giovanni had made it sound like Misty would keep it all guarded and stuff. Kabir, however, pushed these thoughts to the back of his mind and swam further down, finally able to see the outline of the gym in the dark water. Just as he was about to reach the door, however, he saw something come around the corner of each side. A Gyarados.

"Shit," Kabir breathed, momentarily losing his grip on the breathing thing. He put it back in properly and then grabbed Kadabra and Poliwag's Pokeballs. The pair of Gyarados looked strong and mean, and Kabir decided that he wasn't going to take any chances.

As soon as Kadabra appeared out of the Pokeball, Kabir shoved the breathing thing to him. Kadabra looked at it curiously for a moment, and then followed Kabir's suit and put it in his mouth. It looked rather odd on the Pokemon, but it was obvious that without it Kadabra would be unable to breathe under the water and would therefore die from lack of oxygen. Both of the Gyarados let out angry roars, making Poliwag squeak and swim closer to Kadabra. Kabir rolled his eyes and shook his head, but waited for the Gyarados to make the first move. The Gyarados glanced at each other, and then began to swim around Kabir and his Pokemon.

"Kadabra, use confusion!" Kabir ordered through muffled breath. "Poliwag, you use hypnosis on the Gyarados to your left!"

Kadabra whipped around in the water and shot a beam of energy to the Gyarados that was closest to him. The Gyarados roared as it was surrounded by the veil of multicolored energy, twitching and writhing in the water. Poliwag, on the other hand, had opened her mouth and shot multiple circles towards the Gyarados close to her. It roared menacingly, but soon its red eyes closed and it began to drift to the ground. Kabir glanced at the Gyarados, and then pointed to the one closing in on Kadabra, jaws opened and ready to take a bite out of him. Poliwag charged towards Gyarados, and shot a stream of water at the giant dragon. Gyarados roared, though it was more out of annoyance than pain. However, the attack was enough for Kadabra to launch a teleport.

"Confusion again! Poliwag, try to keep that Gyarados away from Kadabra."

As soon as Kadabra reappeared behind Gyarados, he flicked his spoon and another wave of energy closed in on the Gyarados. It thrashed violently in the water, smacking Poliwag away with its tail, but soon the energy hit it and the Gyarados began to tremble. Kadabra moved his hand to the building, and suddenly the Gyarados was flung away from Poliwag and into the side of the gym, hitting it with a loud thud that made the water vibrate. Kabir smirked, and was about to have Kadabra do that again, when he heard a harsh grunt of pain coming from said Pokemon. A quick look made Kabir realize that the other Gyarados had woken up, and had clamped its jaws down on Kadabra's tail.

"Poliwag use water gun to get Gyarados off of Kadabra! Kadabra, you use teleport as soon as you can," Kabir ordered, watching as the one Gyarados slowly began to pull itself out of the side of the building.

Poliwag let out a stream of water, but the Gyarados just clamped its jaws down harder. Kabir clenched his teeth and cursed, but Poliwag refused to give up. She even went as far to shove into Gyarados, but finally resorted to swimming directly in front of it and shooting water right in its eye. The Gyarados roared, letting Kadabra teleport away. That was when the second Gyarados (who had been swimming to attack Kadabra from the front) slammed headfirst into the other one, sending them sprawling in a twisted mass of...tails. They roared and snapped at each other, something Kabir found to be very helpful.

"Alright guys, it looks like this might be a good time to wrap things up. Kadabra, use focus punch on the nearest Gyarados the next time it goes to attack," Kabir ordered. He then turned to Poliwag. "You use water gun on them, and just keep it up." Sure, Kabir knew the water probably wasn't doing much, but Poliwag needed some experience.

Poliwag swam a bit closer to the Gyarados, and then let out a continuous jet of water that hit them head on each time they seemed to flip around. The Gyarados were soon growing annoyed, and finally paused in their twisting. Kadabra's fist was glowing brighter and brighter each moment, but when the Gyarados finally managed to detach from each other, Kadabra was ready. One of the Gyarados charged headfirst towards Kadabra, who pulled back his fist, ready to meet the attack. Poliwag, in the meantime, was content with swimming around the other Gyarados and just annoying the hell out of it. Kabir smiled slightly as Poliwag danced around the Gyarados.

"Good job, Poliwag," he commented, then looked to his other Pokemon.

Kadabra's fist slammed right into the Gyarados's head, knocking it down in the water and making its jaws shut with a sharp clip. Kadabra floated away from the Gyarados, eyeing it carefully as it tried to will itself to swim back up to battle. The other Gyarados, however, seemed to have turned the tide on poor Poliwag. It was now using a protect, making Poliwag stop her water attack and look at it curiously, obviously not understanding why her attack wasn't working. Just as Kabir opened his mouth to explain, however, and odd aura shot from Gyarados's mouth and right into Poliwag, making her cry out as she was sent flying backwards in the water. Kadabra teleported to her and caught her, leaving Poliwag panting.

"What the...?" Kabir muttered, wishing he had his Pokedex to see what it had just used. But no, he had left his pack up with Giovanni.

Kadabra glanced at him, and apparently decided to use a little of his psychic powers to fill him in. It's dragon pulse. Poliwag's low on stamina. Shall I finish this? Kabir blinked rapidly, having forgotten that his Pokemon could do that. Finally, he nodded slowly at Kadabra. Immediately Kadabra's fist began to glow. The Gyarados charged toward them suddenly, but Poliwag shot a quick burst of water right into the Gyarados's open mouth, making it cringe and falter for a second. The second, however, was all that Kadabra needed. Poliwag launched herself out of the way as Gyarados charged in, only to get slammed between the nose with a focus punch. Gyarados got catapulted backward in the water, and slowly began to sink down where the other was lying. Kabir glanced at them, and then nodded at his Pokemon.

"Nice one, you two," he commented, recalling them and grabbing Kadabra's breathing thing before it could float to the bottom. Then, without further hesitation or issue, Kabir swam into the gym.

"So...they want me to kill a gym leader...and not just any gym leader, Falkner. His father was a hell of a gym leader or so i've heard." Grecko began until his last phrase reminded him of his father, who he now wanted revenge on.

"Can I help you?" Falkner says noticing you are in deep thought at the moment.

"No...i'm just enjoying the heat of the sand, it's relaxing after a long day of training ya know?" Grecko quickly thought up as he put on a fake smile.

"Hmm, maybe you can help me" Falkner says questioning the boy. "Um sure with what?" Grecko hesitantly questioned.

"Well I've been sent here by the Johto League council to decide if it is time for Johto to take action, before this threat threatens our region as well, so I was wondering what your assumption of the state of Kanto was?" Falkner asks Grecko with a curious look.

"Hmmm...what do I tell him..." Grecko began to think to himself, but remembered he needed to give swift answers if he wanted Falkner to buy his lies. "Kanto is doing fine, actually. I'm here on my very first journey actually, and do you think they would send a kid into a place like this?" the trainer answered as he was actually sickened by the thought of how him and the others were thrusted into this.

"Very well then, I still think I should stick around Kanto some more, maybe check out the other towns, it won't be much of a problem with Pidgeotto here" Falkner says as he lets his arm out for the huge bird to land on.

"Wow...he cares for pokemon so much. That Tauros back there...Cyndaquil helped me beat it even though it knew the decision I had made. AHHHHH what's wrong with me" Grecko though to himself as he clenched his fist.

"Hello" two men in dark cloaks appear and cause Grecko to leave his train of thought.
"Who the heck are these punks?!?!" Falkner says with sarcasm as he obviously still has his sense of humor from not being around the darkness. "There dark brotherhood members" Grecko smirked, he still thought they were scum.

"Give me a hand here Grecko" he says as he and Pidgeotto prepare for battle. "Ok, come on out Cubone!" Grecko put on a smile, This was every ten year old boy's dream to team up with a famed gym leader like Falkner in a tag team battle, but still Grecko new it wasn't going to end well.

"Go Vigoroth!" "Go Nidorino!" The two dark brotherhood members sent out two pokemon. "Ok Grecko are you ready for this?" Falkner looks over to Grecko with a stern look. "You know it! Boone use Headbutt on vigoroth!" Grecko answered Falkner and then shot out the first command. "Pidgeotto use sand attack on both Nidorino and Vigoroth so they can't interfere with Cubone." Falkner then shouted out.

"PIDGOOO!" Pidgeotto screeched as it brushed sand from the ground into the eyes of Vigoroth and Nidorino. "CUBBONE!" Boone barked as it smashed it's head into the jaw of vigoroth, tossing it into it's trainer.

"Nidorino use double kick!" The other member shouted as his Nidorino charged in for Falkners Pidgeotto. "Boone throw your bone club at Nidorino and stop it!" Grecko quickly commanded.

Boone quickly wound up and tossed the Bone club at a perfect angle. "Nido!" The Nidorino cried as it tried to out run the Bone club. ""POW!" Nidorino was smacked in the head with the Bone Club which knocked it off it's course.

"Vigoroth get in there and use Scratch!" The brotherhood member who had previously been knocked over shouted. "Pidgeotto use Whirlwind!" Falkner yelled out to his bird pokemon. "Boone jump into the whirlwind and prepare a headbutt attack!" Grecko than yelled over to Boone.

Pidgeotto quickly wound up a tornado like whirlwind and Boone ran and jumped in. "VIG!" Vigoroth stopped running and tried to turn around, but was caught by the whirlwind attack and thrown into the water. "Now Boone jump out and headbutt Nidorino!" Grecko then commanded.

"CUUUBONNNE!" Boone roared as it exited the whirlwind like a rocket and slammed into the now standing Nidorino. "NIDOOO!" Nidorino cried as it to was tossed into the water.

"Lets go...we've seen enough!" the two brotherhood members cowered as they returned their pokemon and dissapeared into the shadows. "Damn...my cover could have been blown.." Grecko swiftly looks over to the now concerned Falkner.

Gil watched with wary eyes, hand unconciously petting Sableye's head as the strange dark type clutched at his leg and gazed at Shaun with a curious expression. The odd ball pokemon would occasionally make cooing sounds, but both Gil and Shaun paid it no mind.

"What are you doing in the reverse world, Gil?" Shaun repeated coldly, only this time using his name. For some reason, the sound of his name sent foreign shivers down his spine. What was it with this guy... his brother?

"What are you?" Gil asked instead, trying to remember all that he could about his brother. They hadn't seen each other in a year and a half, and that was more than enough for anyone to change, but Shaun had always been the independent type. Always sneaking out and doing what he wanted, not that Gil minded. He was a loner by nature, and it wasn't like he was a familial person, so it wasn't that big of a deal that he never had a chance to have a brotherly bond.

Shaun laughed at the question. "What am I?" he repeated with fanged grin. By his side, the monstrous shiny Skarmory made an odd cooing sound again. He lifted a hand and, making sure Gil was paying attention, started to twirl his fingers about. Dark shadows soon crept through his fingers and started twirling about as well, looking like a mini dark tornado on his hand. "I am powerful." The statement was spoken in a normal tone, and it wasn't boasting. Shaun truly believed that, and from what Gil had seen, he was powerful.

"How?" Gil asked. "I thought only Beo and even Tai could control the shadows."

"Bah!" Gil blinked as Shaun actually spat. His face was completely livid. "That man," he growled, "thinks he can take away power from others and use it for his own." Shaun gave Gil a bitter sneer. "The only power you can get is your own, and you use that power to break down your enemies to show who is superior. That is the way life is now."

Slowly, Gil nodded. He agreed. No matter how much people wanted to moan, complain or fight, this was their world now. It was impossible to go back to the way things were. This world of theirs was too broken.

"Yes," Gil agreed, glancing at the broken and grotesque remains of the Dusknoir. It was dead, and so was the main reason behind his hatred towards ghosts. He has set out to kill as many ghosts as possible before he finally killed the one that killed his father, but since it was dead so early on, and he hadn't been the one to make or order the killing blow, what was he to do now?

"What was that weak excuse for a pokemon to you?" Shaun asked, folding his arms as he caught the look.

Gil hesitated, eyes narrowing in on the still swirling shadows around his brother. "It mutilated and ate our father in front of me."

Shaun paused. "Our father," he mused. It was obvious from his tone that he hadn't thought of any of their family for some time. And on that thought, what about their mother? Gil hadn't cared much for family either, but it was a curiosity that was starting to nag at him. "How long ago was it?"

Gil shrugged. "A few weeks before I was recruited by Oak."

"Mhmm." They bother tilted their head at the same time, examining the other. "It seems we've strayed from the subject," Shaun finally said, tone becoming cold. "Now, brother, why are you here?"

The shadows made jerking movements, looking as if they wanted to strike. "I was sent to receive Beo's staff."

As soon as Gil said that, he certainly wasn't expecting Shaun to burst out laughing. "The staff! Of course, and how ironic and well planned that you would be the one to be sent to retrieve it." Shaun's face was very ugly right now as he sneered. "I'm afraid I can't allow that to happen." Gil tensed, as well as his pokemon. "Skarmory, kill them."

Gil's blood ran cold. He didn't know why he was feeling betrayed. His brother was like a complete stranger, but wasn't blood supposed to be thicker than water or something? "Yea, and so is peanut butter," Gil spat, reacting instantly as the green winged metallic bird spread his wings. "Growlithe, Ember!" Murkrow, Icy Wind! Riolu, Force Palm!"

Shaun let out a barking laugh, almost as if he were unable to believe that Gil could have any hope of beating him. Gil, reluctant though he was, knew there was no way he could win, but he couldn't just stand there and not fight back, right?

"Growlith!" his fire pup roared, realizing that they were all fighting for so much more than their life. Mudkip's death was on all their minds, and the thought of their impending death was more than enough to put them at their best and push through their ever weakening limits. Fire balls erupted from Growlithe's mouth forcing the cool air to become steamy and uncomfortable.

"Kroww!" Murkrow cawed, swooping around on the opposite side. His ice attack would have melted before he even opened his beak thanks to the heat, but at least far away on Skarmory's opposite he could hit it.

"Skarr," Skarmory groaned, wings shifting as the attacks pounded into him. He shook his sharp beaked head in agitation, much to Gil's pokemon's horror. This pokemon was shaking their attack off like it was nothing.

"Rol!" Riolu yelled, jumping at the steel type in a fury, fist drawn back before he slammed it right into Skarmory's head.

Gil could actually see his pokemon gulp as soon as it landed to the ground. Skarmory's head was turned slightly from the force, yellow eyes glazing with anger. It let out a terrifying screech and spread its wings even farther, sending the fighting pokemon skulking back in fright, but not fast enough. "Mary!" Wings coming down in a slashing motion, a blast of sharp wind slammed right into Riolu, cutting into the poor pokemon's skin and drawing blood from the many welts appearing on its front.

"Riolu!" Gil yelled, catching his pokemon as he flew at him. Grunting as he caught his pokemon, Gil looked at his brother in hatred as his hands began to get soaked by his pokemon's blood. His pokemon let out an apolgetic grunt before letting his conciousness fade. "Return," Gil whispered, eyes still glaring into Shaun's.

"Skarmory, enough playing around," Shaun barked his pokemon as he turned to the battle.

Growlithe was running around frantically, trying to fire Ember after Ember when he could before a blast of wind slammed into the spot he had been in a moment before. The same was for Murkrow, only the dark type was flying about and blasting Icy Wind. Every time it looked as if Skarmory was started to freeze it would shift its sword like featehrs and break the ice.

Gil gave a harsh grunt as he felt the air tighten around his lungs. Was he getting weaker? "Growlithe, Murkrow, keep fighting," he commanded with a loud cough.

"It's no use," Shaun told him coldly. "You and your pokemon are not used to this environment." With a bitter smile, he ordered, "Air Cutter!" and Skarmory's shrill screech filled the air, but before the metallic bird attacked, another shriek filled the air, and soon, to Gil's amazement, small black creature's were flying about.

Gil gapped before turning a glare at Sableye as it began to cackle and dance in ecstasy. It clapped its hands and chanted "Sabe! Sabe!" while Murkrow and Growlithe quickly ran to his side.

"Unown," he heard Shaun growl as his Skarmory was blasted by an attack by these strange creatures. He returned his pokemon with a savage snarl. "Damn you, Tai!" he screeched, "I'll kill you for this!"

The Unown were now encircling them, and Gil's vision was starting to fade, but he watched Sableye create a barrier around him before he glanced at Shaun as the enraged boy shouted, "You!" at a white furred pokemon with a black face and black scythe. It lunged at him, creating darkness around them and soon Shaun was out of sight.

"What's going on?" Gil growled, trying to get away from everything, his body staggering. "What are you doing?" he continued to growl.

"Sa saaa," Sableye chuckled eerily, grabbed Gil's chin. His crystal eyes glared deep into Gil's. "Sabe." With one last demonic grin, Sableye sunk into Gil's body, disappearing into his very soul. Growlithe and Murkrow cried out in fright, eyeing their master with worry, but Gil was too far gone to care, and sleep had finally come.

Jake laughed, quiet and nervously at first, slowly getting louder until his body shook with his roaring. What was the possibility of him meeting a legendary trainer, a member of the Elite 4? What was the possibility of such a strong trainer being held captive by Beo? Jake placed a hand over his face and stared at the man through the space between his fingers. He was really standing in front of him.

The boy took a step forward, inching his way towards the man as his hand fell from his face and reached for the dagger at his waist. He stopped, wondering if he really could go through with it. Could he really take a life?

The man raised his head and looked at Jake, causing the boy to back away just a little bit. From the harden glare covered by wet blue hair that was matted down against his face, Jake knew this man was the real deal. He dropped his hood, letting his head free and allowing the man to see his face in the light.

Bruno's eye grew bigger when he saw Jake's face, a look of surprise and disappointment on his face. A tear formed in the corner of his eye, traveling down the side of his face before stopping right on the tip of his chin. He spoke up, his voice cracked and low, but beneath it was the voice of a strong prideful man.

"It's crazy of life works, eh? For the past two years, I've watched you grown and now I'm going to be killed by your hands." Jake cocked his head to the side. He gripped the handle of the dagger at his side.

"What do you mean, 'You've been watching me'?" His grip tightened on the handle. He was beginning to think that whatever torment he went through had made him delusional. Jake's eyes twitched as shadows crept up the walls, dancing once more about the room. He fiddled his fingers in his free hand.

"It is not obvious? You weren't chosen for this dangerous journey out of fate, no, it was because I recommended you to Zypher. We all had a hand in recommending one of you." With this Bruno threw his head up and laughed. From his position on the other side of the room, Jake could see the pain in the man's eyes. It was the pain of the truth.

He shook his head. No, he didn't know this man and this man didn't know him. It couldn't be possible. He's stare of awe and sorrow quickly turned to a angry glare. "Recommended? What the hell are you talking about, 'recommended'? And who is the 'we' who recommended us trainers…and why?"

Bruno looked at the boy calmly, not affected by the glare the boy was giving him. He took in a deep breath, coughing bit to clear his throat.

"I'm in a group called the Lightning Mercenaries, and each of us was to choose a young trainer who would join the Clan of Hope. Basically you trainers were to take over when Zypher died." Jake's head jerked to the side. 'When Zypher died? Did they have this all planned out from the beginning?'

"We have been looking over your shoulders since before you began. I was always there in case you were in danger; unfortunately, Beo separated you from us at Viridian Forest."

Jake relaxed, taking in everything that Bruno had told him. For the longest of time he had felt like he had been watched and he always thought that it was the darkness that was watching his progress. Perhaps the feeling that the darkness was watching him was an illusion in itself, just like most things the boy saw. After all, he never felt threatened by the thing that was watching over him, and while the darkness seemed to be "protective" of him, it didn't really give him the feeling of being comfortable.

And if Bruno was really telling the truth, then that would explain why he and the others were chosen out of all the trainers available. After all, they could have easily contacted Vince, a trainer who had started his adventure two years ago and was probably a powerful trainer at the moment. Or maybe Wes, a loyal friend who wanted to help people cope with the darkness and set out with his Psychic pokemon to make that dream a reality. But no, they instead chose a boy who was struggling with sanity due to the darkness growing within him.

"When I first spotted you, ha, you were a strong willed boy, but the shadows broke you." Bruno lowered his head. "I'm very sorry I wasn't able to help…" Something snapped. Balling his hands in anger at the fact that this man before him said that the shadows 'broke' him, Jake yelled out. Bruno looked up surprised, as Jake, in a rage, ripped the dagger from its sheath and charge at him, fully intent on taking away his life.

As Jake closed the gap between them, Bruno calmly stood up and with one tug, ripped the chains binding him down from the wall. Shocked, Jake stopped himself from getting any closer, now caught in the awe of the man towering above him. A bit shaky, the boy tried his best to recompose himself and his sturdiness returned. No, there was nothing to fear now. He had to fight!

"So you really would kill a man? Are you already that lost, Jake?" Bruno's furrowed his brows, hardening his look at the boy before him. He reached into his pants' pocket; bring out a pokeball that looked quite small in his massive hand. "If you want to kill me, then you have to beat me in a battle."

He tossed the ball into the air and a light released the pokemon that was being held inside. It resembled a human, in a way, with boxing gloves and a purplish outfit. In a blur it punched the air, to what Jake thought was a few times, but in reality was at least double what he thought. Jake growled as he sheathed the dagger and reached for two of his pokeballs. He knew that one of his pokemon wouldn't be able to take this one on alone.

"Alright, Sasha, Hagi, let's go!" In a flash the Nidoran and Torchic appeared before the boy. They yawned, taking a moment to adjust to the new surroundings, but once they figured out what was going on they sprung up ready to battle. Hagi growled as he lowered himself to the ground ready to attack as Sasha looked ahead, not overly concerned about the pokemon in front of her.

"Alright! Growl and Leer!" In a instant Nidoran made eye contact with the Hitmonchan, narrowing his eyes trying to intimidate it. While doing so Sasha took a deep breath and let out a loud chirp, distracting Hitmonchan from Hagi.

Seizing the opportunity, Jake order a focus energy from Hagi and then commanded him to follow up with a double kick, while Sasha used the window of time to use focus energy as well.

Hagi charged the Hitmonchan and leaped, feet glowing. Using its quick reflexes, the Hitmonchan ducked under the first kick, and crossed it's arms to shield itself from the second one. The force of the second once sent the boxing pokemon stepping back a little.

"Scratch!" Immediately after Hitmonchan gained back its balance, Sasha assaulted it with a series attacks from her claws. Hitmonchan, dodge a few of the attacks, but to Jake's relief, wasn't able to dodge all of them. He quickly called out to Hagi to help Sasha out with a peck attack and the Nidoran did as told.

Bruno watched, monitoring the kid's battle style before shaking his head. "You've still a long way to go, before you can defeat me. Hitmonchan, agility." The pokemon gave a cry as it punched the air a few times and then disappeared. Confused, both Jake and his pokemon looked around.

"Stay on your toes…it could…" Before he could finished the sentence, Hitmonchan appeared before Hagi, its fist glowing silver. "Bullet Punch." Suddenly, without being 'touched' Hagi was sent flying into Jake, knocking the boy back. He landed on his butt with Hagi unconscious in his arms. 'Seriously? With only one hit?!! What…how strong is he?'

Jake looked back up, searching for Sasha. The fire type pokemon was wildly running around the room, quickly jumping here and there. Paying closer attention, Jake could see dents form in the ground where Sasha once stood when she jumped. Recalling Hagi, he grabbed Macey's pokeball, releasing his trusted partner into battle.

"Alright Macey, pay close attention to Sasha. When she's about to jump away, I want you to use water gun on the spot she's standing at!" Macey gave a nodded and squeal as she jumped into the fray, focusing all her attention on Sasha.

Tiring, Sasha's movements were becoming slow, and even though she didn't seem to take any of the hits, she was being scarped every now and then. Jake gulped, knowing that Macey would have to make her move soon if they wanted to stand a chance.

Sasha ran towards Bruno, breathing heavily. Abruptly, she stopped and used her legs to project herself to the side. As she did, a jet of water shot out at her previous location and in the split second that Hitmonchan was hitting the ground with its bullet punch, it was driven back by the blast of the water.

Sasha ran over to Macey's side and faced their opponent. She was breathing heavily and was suffering from a few wounds. Jake fiddled with her pokeball in his hand, tempted to recall her.

"Alright, we've got to do this. Sasha, I'll need you to use ember on Hitmonchan. Macey, use water gun at the same time." Both nodded and shot of the flames and jet of water. Hitmonchan smirked, easily dodging the attack. The two collided, creating a small explosion that resulted in the room filling with steam, making everything harder to see.

"Alright, Macey use rollout! Sasha, follow Macey and attack with ember when you see an opening."

Rolling her into a ball, Macey charged into the smoke and Sasha attempted to follow, but stopped once Hitmonchan appeared in front of her. The young chic pokemon gave a chirp, keeping firm to her ground.

"Ember!"

"Vacuum Wave!"

Sasha spat flames from her mouth, attempting to get a direct hit on Hitmonchan for being so close. However, she was a bit too slow as Hitmonchan punched the air in front of her, sending a powerful blast of wind at the chic pokemon and blowing out the flames. Unable to react in time, Sasha was blown back.

Gritting his teeth, Jake quickly recalled her before he body could hit the ground. He glanced at the Hitmonchan, who was gloating by punching the air playfully. However, its taunting was cut short as Macey slammed hard into its back, sending it down to one knee. It cried out, causing Bruno to call out to it.

Sweeping around in her rolling rampage, Macey circled around Hitmonchan, before driving her body into its face, knocking it into the steamy area.

Jake took a deep breath, hoping that Macey and he could pull something off. However in the back of his mind he knew they were no match for the Elite 4 legend at their current level.

Kerjo: That was still a very good post!!! Torchic grew to lvl 14! Nidoran grew to lvl 14! Nidoran wants to learn poison sting, delete a move to make room? Macey grew to lvl 18! Macey want's to learn bubble beam delete a move to make room? Macey wants to evovle will you allow it?

From his current position on one side of the room, Jake was oblivious to the battle happening within the steam that had concentrated in the middle of the room. Every now and then the sound of bodies colliding was heard, but whether it was from Macey's rollout attack or Hitmonchan's punches, he did not know.

"Hitmonchan, finish this off! Comet Punch!"

"Macey, get out of there!"

A few painful sounds echoed from within the steam and now Jake could see two figures moving within in. One was standing still, while the other was rocketing off towards him. Eyes wide, Jake jumped back and began to move, but was too late. A blue and white blue shot out from the steam and collided with the boy. He was knocked back, falling to one knee. He glanced down at the pokemon in his arms.

In his arms was a blue and white pokemon that somewhat resembled Macey. Long rabbit-like ears rested against on the boy's shoulders and that same long black wiry tail with the bubble end rested on the ground. He shook involuntarily realizing that Macey had evolved in the battle. He held her tighter as the glanced up. The steam was clearing. And before him were Bruno and Hitmonchan.

Jake lowered his head, somewhat disappointed at his defeat to a single pokemon. Grinding his teeth together he looked up at Bruno, glaring. He had somewhat given into the darkness, and what did he have to show for it? Nothing! Nothing, but the same old illusions and a loss to a man, who was once tortured by darkness.

Of course, there was a vast difference in the power that the two possessed. Bruno was a brute, known for his immense power, pure and raw. On the other hand, Jake had obtained a tainted power that probably would never become pure.

Jake began to doubt the power that darkness could give. Of course, power wasn't the real reason he had decided to join…but his personal reason would eventually lead to power.

"You're not lost yet, Jake. You can come back with me, and that would be the first step to working together so they we can figure out how to help you." Jake gripped chest, using the other to recall Macey back to her pokeball. Anger swelled up within his chest, a rage that he had never felt in his life before.

"Now, whoever said you needed help?" Jake's head whipped up as the creep, whisper like voice echoed in his ears. He turned around and once again saw the black cloaked man who was even scarier to Jake than Beo. The boy rose to his feet, turning to view the man. Behind him Bruno, glanced curiously at the boy.

"Jake? Jake, is it him? It is that guy that you're always seeing?" Bruno took a step forward, a concerned look on his face. Not hearing Bruno, or noticing him closing the distance, Jake took a step back.

"What do you mean? I need help to keep people like you away!" The cloaked man wagged his finger while shaking his head at the boy.

"You know exactly what I mean, Jake." He disappeared, reappearing right behind the boy and taking a hold of him. He leaned down whispering into the boy's ear, " Now it is time. You are ready to accept the darkness and shadows, and all you have to do…it just give in."

Jake's hand twitched, his body becoming encircled in a black aura, and turned to stare at Bruno, a red light reflecting from his eyes. He drew his dagger, skillfully twirling it in his hand. Bruno backed away, shaking his head. "No."

"That's it, relax. Let the darkness flow through your body, use it to do whatever you want!"

Jake smiled wickedly, running the blade down the side of his face, though making sure not to cut himself. A sick chuckle uttered from his throat as he approached Bruno, his intent to kill even greater than before.

"Jake! I don't know what you're doing, but whatever it is, I NEED YOU TO STOP RIGHT NOW!!!" Wes's voice ranged through the boy's head, momentarily stopping him. The aura quickly vanished and as whispers filled Jake's head he doubled over in pain.

"JUST SHUT UP! SHUT UP AND GO AWAY!!!!"

The cloaked man frowned under his hood. "It seems I came just a bit too early. No matter, it won't be long before you're really ready." With that he vanished, leaving Jake free from the voices.

Breathing heavily, Jake shot his head up and glared at Bruno. The man had a relieved look on his face.

"Jake, please, come back with me." Jake shook his head. He knew he couldn't go with Bruno. Beo knew how to get around, he knew how to separate them and Jake knew that if he went with Bruno, they would be split up again and Beo would defiantly kill him. Jake reached out for the dagger, gripping its hilt tightly and struggled to move. He knew what he had to do, but he just couldn't do it. Something was still holding him back…keeping him for doing bad things and giving into the darkness.

"Jake you can't stay here. If you do, then we're do…" Bruno stopped in mid sentence, the light in his eyes flickering. Jake took a deep breath, pushing himself to his feet. As he got to his feet, Bruno slumped to the ground like a dead log, lifeless before his face came in contact with the steel cold ground.

Jake looked down at the body, the dagger once again dropping from his hand. Slowly he looked up, taking into detail the man now standing behind the spot where the legend once stood. Tai Fayling stood there, a blood sword in hand. The look on his face wasn't that of a mad person. In fact, he was smirking, like something amusing had happened.

"Let's count that a favor, shall we?"

Before Jake could respond, he was gone, just like everyone else. Balling his hands in anger, Jake stomped the ground, tears threatening to fall. From his viewpoint, it didn't seem that it mattered if he chose to kill Bruno or not. It seemed like the man was destined to die either way. He gripped his head, wondering if fate was playing with him, leading him down a road with multiple paths, but no matter which one he took he'd end up at the same spot.

V2 C2 P2:Darkness Creeping

"damnit....I don't know what to do...it's like those bastards did this so I would have to kill a gym leader..." Grecko was getting angry as he realized the brotherhood put him in a no lose situation. He looked back over at Falkner who began walking towards Grecko.

"Well that wasn't a very pleasant welcome, I think I'm defiantly going to have to stick around a bit longer" Falkner says with a stern look of concern. "....." Grecko's mind went blank, he couldn't control himself any longer, the boy looked with rage as he tackled the unsuspecting Falkner from behind.

"Grecko what are you doing?!" Falkner screams out as he can notice some shadows begin circling around Grecko's ankles. "The darkness...." Grecko whispers but still with a look of anguish.

"Pidgey get him!" Falkner yells as he reaches and barley pushes one of his pokeballs buttons. "Pidgey!" The pokemon chirped as it emerged from the ball. "Go Beedrill!" Grecko grunted as he continued to hold Falkner to the ground.

"BEEE!" Beedrill buzzed, this was the first time it had been out of it's ball since it evolved from Kakuna. At first Beedrill soared in the air for a second but then flew down and hovered around Grecko. It seemed confused somehow, as if it noticed the change in its trainer.

"Ok Beedrill use fury attack on Pidgey!" Grecko commanded it. "Pidgey...uh...use sand attack as a counter!" Falkner shouted out with all his energy. "Beedrill dodge the sand attacks and continue in with the fury attacks!" Grecko countered.

"PIII PIII!" Pidgey chirped as it shot sand forward at Beedrill, but the pokemon was moving side to side to much and easily dodged the sand. "BEEEEEEDRA!" Beedrill hissed as it thrusted both spikes into the Pidgey tossing it down into the sand.

"Good job Beedrill!" Grecko congratulated the pokemon on it's victory. "Pidgey...return..." Falkner was able to return the unconcious pokemon to it's pokeball.

Now Grecko and Falkner were face to face and Grecko stared with anger as he rose the dagger and prepared to kill Falkner. "Why Grecko...why would you do this, you seemed like such a good kid." Falkner told the boy hoping to get him to stop. "You don't know me! You don't know who I am...I was a good guy, but I was tricked and now I want revenge!" Grecko's anger was out of control as more and more shadows began to swirl around his body.

"But what did I do to make you want revenge on me!" Falkner then responded with one last chance. "For one...when my father disappeared I had no where to go, so I went to see if could become a trainer at your gym and have a place to stay. I was thrown away because I didn't have a pokemon of my own, and apparantly Falkner the gym leader didn't like to train street rats. But whatever...I don't want reveng on you...your just in my way." Grecko finished as he threw on a crazy smile and pulled back the knife.

"Goodbye!" the boy said to the gym leader as he began to thrust the knife down. "GRECKO NO!" a voice yelled as shadows emerged and everything went black. "CING!" a vibrating noise sounded as Grecko's knife was stabbed down onto a steel bridge inside some sort of power plant. "Hey...what happened! Where's Falkner!" Grecko began to yell out as the shadows around him began to calm down.

"Grecko...that's not what you should have done" A familiar voice from the shadows said. "Erytin...what the hell was that you that brought me here?" Grecko questioned with more anger. "It was me Grecko, you were out of control." Erytin said to the boy which brought confusion to Grecko.

"But why...your a dark brotherhood member, so why wouldn't you want him dead?" Grecko asked hoping for answers. "Because...I'm not who you think I am." Erytin told Grecko which caused the boy to have more questions. "What...Where's Falkner?" Grecko questioned. "He's hidden, the dark brotherhood will think you have killed him and no one will question you." Erytin then replied.

"I don't understand any of this...who are you?" Grecko then stood up and began yelling in frustration. "You must never kill Grecko...no matter what the situation is do not let the darkness control you. And to answer your other question, i'm a friend" and with those words Erytin vanished...leaving Grecko to find his own way home.

As he found his way through the building he was in, Grecko now had so many questions, "who do I trust...Where's my father and why do I need to do all of these things for Beo when all I want is revenge, and just who is Erytin."

As the boy the exited from the building he was now standing over a giant lake, with a sign that reads "Cerulean City."

Kabir shoved the doors to the gym open and was surprised to find that as soon as he slipped up onto a particular landing, he could breathe without the thing. Kabir spat it out and breathed deeply, flopping down and rolling on his back. He stared up at the ceiling for a few moments, wondering where he should go to find the gym leader, and then finally shoved up from the ground. He stuffed the device Giovanni had given him inside his pocket, and then walked deeper into the gym. As he did, Kabir rung out his soaking hair and wasn't really paying too much attention to where he was walking. To him, he figured he'd notice if he saw a person.

Just as he had expected, Misty was closer to the back of the gym. He knocked in a door using his shoulder (which was most likely going to be bruised the next day) and looked about the locked room. It had a small pool in it, and sitting just before the pool on the opposite side was Misty. She glanced at him with heavy eyes, and Kabir frowned when he saw the bags under them. He opened his mouth to say why he was there, but suddenly a Horsea had appeared and was shooting a jet of water at his face. Kabir yelped and ducked, narrowly dodging. Kabir soon cursed under his breath, figuring that battling would be the only way to get her to listen.

"Rock throw!" Kabir commanded, tossing Geodude's Pokeball out quickly.

As soon as he appeared, Geodude slammed his body into the ground. The ceiling began to shake, and loose bits of it fell quickly towards the Horsea swimming in the pool below. Misty ordered a water gun, though Horsea wasn't aiming at Geodude. Kabir watched as Horsea aimed it at the wall and was shoved backward in just enough time to dodge the rocks, but not enough time to dodge Geodude's tackle. As soon as Geodude hit Horsea, the water type whipped around. Geodude rolled back away from Horsea, but not before it managed to shoot off a short burst of a water gun that hit Geodude directly.

"Rock polish," Kabir commented, watching as Geodude began to shake itself free of little bits and pieces of stone that normally weren't attached to his body. "Keep that going until you've done it so much you're faster than light." Kabir figured that Geodude would be able to get more attacks off this way.

"Horsea, use focus energy," Misty said, voice not holding hardly any strength. She sounded like she was about to drop dead, in Kabir's opinion.

Horsea closed its red eyes and sank down into the pool. Moments later, there was a slight flash and then Horsea surged upwards, shooting a bubblebeam attack in Geodude's direction. Geodude, however, smirked and simply rolled away from the attack. He was much faster now, and dodging all of the water attacks seemed to have gotten much easier than it had been only moments previous. Kabir then ordered another rock throw attack, and this time Horsea was too slow to dodge. It got hit in the head, directly, by one of the falling pieces and sank down into the water, only to pop up moments after and get hit by a finish-up tackle attack.

"Good job, Geodude," Kabir said, glad to see that Horsea was at least beginning to pant now. Misty seemed to notice this too, because Kabir saw her gaze grow harsh from the corner of his eye. "Use another rock throw!" Kabir ordered quickly, not wanting to give Misty an opportunity to attack and possibly faint Geodude.

Just as Geodude was about to attack, however, Misty ordered a bubblebeam. Just as soon as she did, suddenly an outer ring of water appeared out of the land, close to where Geodude was. Geodude, not noting the water because it hadn't been there previously, slammed his fist against the side of the wall and then launched backwards, looking rather pleased. Kabir however, was staring with open mouthed horror as his rock type grew closer to the water. Without knowing what the hell he was doing, Kabir leaped into the water closest to him, only to have Geodude disappear under seconds later. Kabir took a deep breath and swam down, watching his Pokemon go down like an anchor. Kabir cursed, choking on the water.

He then shoved the breathing thing in his mouth and swam deeper, soon hearing his ears pop. Kabir wondered how deep he was going, and soon felt the pressure begin to hurt. Geodude, however, had finally slowed in his sinking. Kabir grabbed his Pokemon's rocky arm and pushed off the side of the wall that was somehow still there, swimming up as fast as he could with the heavy anchor of a Pokemon he was clutching to. Moments later, Kabir broke the surface, lugging Geodude up and then pulling himself out of the pool. He glared harshly at Misty, who was staring at him calmly.

"What the hell are you trying to do, drown him?!" Kabir shouted angrily, glancing at his weakened Pokemon. Geodude grunted, spitting water out of his mouth and onto the deep side edge of the pool. "Where does that go anyway?!"

"The deepest part of the lake," Misty replied. "Now resume the battle, so I can finish you off."

Kabir glared at her and looked at Geodude, who didn't look to keen on keeping it going. Kabir recalled his rock type, and instead grabbed Poliwag's Pokeball. He tossed it lightly, and soon the water type appeared in a flash of light. It dropped into the pool just ten feet away from the Horsea, looking rather pleased about the water. Kabir, however, wasn't as pleased as Poliwag. He was leering at Misty, almost willing her with his eyes to go drown in the very pool she had tried to drown Geodude in.

"Poliwag, attack Horsea with double slap!" Kabir ordered, figuring that it wouldn't be too difficult to finish off the Horsea at this rate.

Just when Kabir was sure Horsea would manage to dodge, the Pokemon ran into a broken piece from the roof. Kabir smirked as he saw the Horsea shake itself from the brunt of the hit and then start to swim away again. By this time, however, it was too late for Horsea. Poliwag flipped around in the water and slapped Misty's Horsea multiple times with her tail, and soon Horsea gave a sharp cry and began to float to the bottom of the pool. Misty heaved a soft sigh and then there was a flash of red that signaled the recalling of Horsea. Moments and a flash of white light later, there was an odd water type in its place.

"Seel, seel," it barked, clapping its paws together once before launching into the water.

"Double slap," Kabir ordered straightaway.

Poliwag wasted no time in swimming around the Seel to confuse it and then moving in with a double slap attack. Seel's head whipped back and forth from the power of Poliwag's tail, until finally the attack ended. Kabir heard Misty utter an attack from her end of the field, but he could not hear what she said. Moments later, however, the Seel had slammed its hard head into Poliwag's body, knocking Poliwag back in the water and smacking her into the side of the pool. Poliwag shook herself off, though she looked rather worse for the wear. Kabir frowned, and then called for a hypnosis attack.

Rings popped out of Poliwag's mouth, and Seel looked them straight in the eye. It fell asleep almost instantly, somehow still suspended in the middle of the water. Kabir called for Poliwag to just keep up the double slap attacks, and occasionally follow that up with water gun. Poliwag took her time, shooting a jet of water through the pool and smacking into the Seel, making it tumble backwards in the water. After that, Poliwag smacked Seel in the face a couple of times, and then repeat the action. Kabir watched silently, crossing his arms and vaguely wishing that those little attacks would be enough to finish off the Seel.

Good things must always come to an end, however, because almost as soon as he had that thought the Seel's eyes drifted open. Kabir cursed under his breath and called for Poliwag to use yet another hypnosis, but before Poliwag could Misty ordered a head butt. The attack slammed into Poliwag, sending her floating away in the water. Seel then leaped out of the pool, and glanced back at its trainer. Misty simply nodded, and then the next thing Kabir knew the temperature seemed to drop ten degrees in the room. Just after that, a gust of wind blew through the gym and Kabir saw snow thud down to the pool, covering the top layer with ice. Kabir saw Poliwag down there, encased in a small block of ice that didn't look like would thaw anytime soon.

"Good job, Seel," Misty whispered, staring at the ice. Kabir found her practical emptiness a bit creepy, in all truth. She was just...dead. Her eyes were black pits without a soul, making her seem completely defeated and unlike the former leader she used to be. Kabir thought it was a little pathetic, but he wasn't going to go boasting about it. "Dive through the ice with headbutt, and then use the same attack to finish off the Poliwag," Misty commanded, voice ringing clearer than previously.

"Poliwag," Kabir muttered, and then stopped himself.

Seel took a leap, diving headfirst into the ice and thoroughly cracking through it, and that was when Kabir told Poliwag to use double slap. Just before Seel reached the little tadpole, it whipped around and slammed its tail into Seel with quite a bit of force. Seel, however, suddenly shot a burst of water (or a water pulse) right into Poliwag's back. The two Pokemon cried out and then their eyes closed almost exactly in the same instant, both slowly beginning to sink to the bottom of the pool. Kabir recalled Poliwag, barely managing to get it back through the hole. Misty did the same, and Kabir felt relieved. She wasn't going for another...

"I'm not done," Misty practically growled to him. Kabir swallowed harshly and grabbed Kadabra's Pokeball, wanting to prove to Misty that he wasn't quite finished either.

Kabir tossed Kadabra's Pokeball lightly, and in a burst of light the psychic type appeared. Kabir was sort of hoping for another water type (which he sort of also expected), but became a bit dismayed when he found a Starmie standing opposite of Kadabra. None of Kadabra's attacks would be super effective, thus possibly making this battle more perilous for Kadabra than Kabir had first imagined. Starmie looked tough, and Kabir doubted that Misty would've saved it for last if it wasn't.

"No problem," Kabir whispered under his breath, quickly scanning the situation. He sort of had a strategy, but really it would all be dependent on what moves that Starmie standing across from Kadabra knew. "Kadabra, start off with a confusion attack. Keep the attack up and see what happens," Kabir ordered, deciding he'd test Starmie's defenses first.

"Starmie, break it with water pulse," Misty uttered.

Kadabra's spoons twitched, and suddenly his eyes lit up blue as psychic energy was transferred towards Starmie. The water type let out a burst of water from an apparent hole at the top of its body, and that spiraled toward Kadabra as a big wall. Kadabra smirked, and suddenly the wall of crashing water twitched to a halt. It stayed there, suspended out of nothing save for the psychic energy. Suddenly the water whipped around and slammed into Starmie, knocking it into a wall. Kadabra's confusion attack continued on, swallowing Starmie whole then slamming it into a wall moments after. Kabir felt a bit better once he saw that Kadabra seemed to have a slight upper hand. Soon, however, Kadabra broke the attack. Starmie stood there, bruised and twitching.

"Recover," Misty stated. "Then follow with a rapid spin."

"Disable!" Kabir shouted, almost as soon as Misty had finished giving her attack.

Almost as soon as the Starmie had begun to heal itself, Kadabra shot out a single beam of energy from his spoon. Moments later, the Starmie began to twitch and suddenly the recover attack was cut off. Kabir let out a breath of relief, glad to see that Misty's Starmie didn't have enough time to completely fix all of the damage done. That, however, was when the Starmie suddenly launched itself into the air with quite a bit of force. Kabir wasn't exactly sure how it was physically possible for that to have happened, but nonetheless the Pokemon did it. It slammed into Kadabra before Kabir could utter a word, knocking it off its feet and to the floor. Kadabra grunted and suddenly his eyes glowed, and Starmie's rapid spinning slowed.

"Good job, Kadabra," Kabir said once he realized what had happened. "Slam it against the wall, then focus punch."

Kadabra flung the Starmie away and quickly cut off the attack. Then his fist began to fill with light. The Starmie slowly got up, shook itself, and then glanced at Misty. She stared at the ground, unmoving.

"...Water pulse and then rapid spin," she ordered. Her fight was gone once more.

Kabir frowned, watching the jet of water shoot towards his mostly frozen Kadabra. Kabir suddenly knew that the focus punch wouldn't work, but also knew that Kadabra had a plan if it didn't. So, in short, he wasn't super worried when the attack slammed into his Pokemon and the light suddenly faded from Kadabra's palm. Kadabra soon retaliated though, sending another confusion attack in Starmie's direction and consuming the Pokemon quickly once more. Kabir glanced at Misty, a bit disappointed with her gym leading. He had given up trying to convince her he wasn't going to kill her a while ago, and as Kadabra slammed Starmie into the wall and KOed it, Kabir wondered what would happen next. He wasn't sure if she had another Pokemon or not.

Misty and Kabir returned their Pokemon, and Kabir opened his mouth to say something when Misty interrupted.

"Fine. You win. Go ahead and kill me," Misty said, staring at Kabir with broken eyes.

"I'm not going to kill you, you stupid girl," Kabir said pulling at his hair in frustration. "I told you before; I'm not with the Dark freaking Brotherhood!" He was about to continue, when suddenly he felt an odd feeling. It was like...someone was standing right behind him. Kabir glanced over his shoulder, rather displeased to see a Dark Brotherhood member standing right behind him. "Dang it," Kabir grumbled."

Chapter 3
Electrocution Match
There you were standing in the presence of the famed Cerulean City Gym leader Misty, but the moment didn't last long… Sure you had come to see if she was still alive but no where in the description did Giovanni mention saving her life, but that's what had to be done as standing behind you was another cloaked trainer but this one was different, he wasn't the normal goon and you could tell that from the moment he sent out his first pokemon.

"Sorry child, but I've been given orders to execute that gym leader, and I always follow orders" the man said as you can see his grin and he tosses out a pokeball to reveal a Raichu.

After you defeat his pokemon he removes his cloak revealing an old worn out army uniform and blond spiky hair. It was Lt. Surge.

"Well kid I didn't have to beat you I was just buying time" he shouts at you as you question him immediately.

"I just love explosions and electricity… let's just say this gym is going to be your watery grave" Lt. Surge says as he begins to be shrouded in shadows.

"One last thing, if you do manage to survive this you can guarantee this won't be the last time we meet" he says finally disappearing as you run over to Misty who is still in pain and very weak. She was frail now from lack of food and other necessities.

"I'm sorry I doubted you" she said almost fainting when suddenly you begin to hear a strange countdown.

"10" the robotic voice said.

You quickly realize that the gym was rigged with explosives and you only had ten seconds to get out of the gym, without hesitation you hand Misty one of the breathing devices as you put the other in your mouth and head for the exit.
"3"

"Staryu!" Misty screams calling out the starfish pokemon as she was to weak to swim herself and then she quickly jumps in as you follow behind her.

Suddenly the gym explodes with a huge force causing the water behind you to erupt and shoot you out of the lake with a brute force causing you to fly into the air and land on the ground next to giovanni's feet.

"Hmph…" he said looking down at you, Misty sprawled out on the ground next to you as well.

Post 2
After about a half hour Misty was now being taken by several team rocket members into what appeared to be a type of ambulance.

"You did well Kabir, and because of you Misty is alive" he says as you begin to hope you are done working for Team Rocket and Giovanni. But at the same time you start to wonder why exactly he would save Misty….

"I had to… shes a gym leader like me" Giovanni replies almost as if he was reading you mind.

"I mean what good would the world be to me if Kanto is destroyed by that phsyco Beo anyways, I won't stand for it! Team Rocket will rule this land one day, and with Misty saved were one step closer!" He says as you stand up asking exactly what your purpose is in all of this mess.

"Your work isn't done yet Kabir, your path was chosen from the moment I was asked to chose one trainer to take over at the lead of the Clan of Hope" he replies as you are stunned at what you just heard. Not only had this man just recently put you in great danger but he was also the reason you were chosen for this whole crazy ordeal.

"I almost chose your brother, but I saw something in you he didn't have.. heart, drive, determination… the will to push through anything no matter how hard it may be that's what drove me to chose you" he says as you feel kinda of pleased to hear that but you then question why he had been given the rights to chose the new successor.

"It wasn't just me… When word got out of Zypher's illness we realized we needed to act quickly so the Lightning Mercenaries were chosen with the sole purpose of bringing six new trainers with potential to Zypher. And the rest is history" Giovanni says as he seemed a little on edge about telling you all of this. You also finally realize why Zypher seemed so messed up the day you met him, and why you couldn't see his face… he was dying. You shout to Giovanni that Beo has Zypher now and that you need to save him, for some reason you feel closer to the man now.
"I'm sorry but that's not your path, that is someone else's" Giovanni says once again as you finally ask him what your path is.

"That is the right question, your path is to find and rescue Misty, Brock, and Erika" Giovanni says as he grabs a purple pokeball from his belt. Everything was beginning to make sense and in a way it scared you that you actually had a purpose in this whole mess.

"Your next target is Brock, located in pewter city... I'll send you there" Giovanni says as he you wonder how he could send you to Pewter from Cerulean when suddenly he releases the pokemon from that strange purple pokeball revealing a strange looking pokemon with a long odd tail standing on it's hind legs.

"Kabir meet Mewtwo" Giovanni says as Mewtwo clings his three circular fingers together causing you to begin glowing and then suddenly vanish.

When you come to your standing on a huge mountain made of boulders or so you think.

Welcome to the new Pewter City.

Chapter 3
Little House of the Wicked
Post 1
You had moved on from the dead body of one of the world renowned pokemon trainers, which comes to make a case in point; had you finally lost control?

Ether way you were continuing, and with each step things began to become stranger. The air became thicker, the sky became a darker purple, and suddenly standing in front of you was a very interesting building. The building is what appeared to be at one point an old Victorian house built maybe two centuries ago, it was three stories tall with white siding. There were two windows facing towards you at each level and a big red door with a metal knocker on it. What was really off about this place was that there was actually sun shinning on it, and a yard with green grass. The final thing you notice is a big oak tree with a tire swing hanging from it.

For some reason you feel intensely drawn towards the building and you take one step onto the grass and suddenly the whole surrounding area becomes sunny and a full landscape of grass and trees... The fresh breeze hits your face; this of course is something you haven't felt in years. Your eyes quickly move to the view of the sky, it was a light blue color with pure white clouds floating across the it. Something was very off here.

Then suddenly a big gust of wind blows the front door of the house wide open and you decide it's time to figure out who exactly lives here. The moment you take that initial step in the doorway you immediately figure out whose house it is. Down a long hall way as you enter the door is a huge family portrait of a family of three.., You could tell they were rich as they were dressed in fancy clothing, but the child catches your eye… This wasn't just any house it was;

Beo's house.

It was as if someone had just destroyed the life you knew… Beo looked happy in that portrait, he was smiling…. Finally you continue looking around and then head up the staircase at the end of that hallway. At the top of the stairs you find three different doors as you try the first two you find they are locked tight. Finally you exhale opening the third one to find it is open, and as you walk in things just get weirder. The room was a childs bedroom you immediately realize it's Beo's of course. Then you notice a framed picture sitting on his desk and you take a look at it. You immediately recognize two of them as Beo and Zypher, but the third was a girl who you had no idea about. In the picture the three of them were holding arms and smiling, but something eerie caught your eye as in the background there is a man in a black cloak just standing behind Beo.

"What do you think your doing here?" A feminine voice shouts as you drop the picture and it shatters on the ground. As you turn around you find that standing behind you is none other then Sabrina the Saffron City gym leader.

"Well this just won't do Gil… Beo won't be pleased if I let you leave this place alive.. not after seeing all of this" She says as she grabs a pokeball from her belt, you were going to have to battle her.

After you defeat Sabrina she begins to laugh as a light purple glow begins to circle her body, she raises her left arm in the air causing your body to fly to the ceiling. You struggle to move but can't seem to break free.

"You may have beaten me at a pokemon battle, but the rules of the old league don't apply in todays world child… I can use my physic powers to trap you deep inside your thoughts…" She begins to exclaim as suddenly you begin to feel tired…

"Don't worry you won't die, not yet anyways" Sabrina says laughing as suddenly she begins to vanish, the walls around begin to change and suddenly you are lying on the ground looking up at a clear blue sky once again. You begin to wonder what happened to Sabrina, or Beo's house for that matter as suddenly you hear laughter. You stand up and head towards it, when suddenly you feel a sharp pain in your chest as you see your former self when you were five playing with a bellsprout right at the edge of your hometown.

The next thing you notice is a huge brick wall blocking your way out of any point of the city… And then all at once a black cloaked man attacks your younger self, killing the bellsprout in the attack. You quickly reach for one of your pokeballs only to find there gone as well. Suddenly your younger self and the cloaked man vanish.

What exactly was going on?

The rest of the post is just you exploring your old town; things can change as you explore it. This is basically your inner most thoughts combined into one city so make it creative and awesome!! Pure epicness!

Jake
Chapter 3
Rising Shadows
Post 1
You had been sent back to your stumbling over the fact that you were careless and watched a man who had nothing but love for you murdered by Tai. The worst part about it was that Beo thought you had done it. You hated Tai at that moment, at the same time though you were glad he killed him instead of you.

A few thoughts were moving through your mind, one was what was Beo going to have you do next? Two was this your destiny, or was there no such thing as destiny and fate? And Three what was Bruno trying to say before Tai killed him?

"If you don't come back with me were all do.." The words still rang in your mind as you saw Bruno's eyes turn grey and cold.

"Do you take me for a fool Jake?" The all to familiar voice of Beo says as you look to your doorway and there he was once again, but for you could answer his question he began to talk.

"It's funny how much a camera can pick up in a room" Beo said with an unpleased look on his face as you realize he saw everything.

"I'm going to let it slide this time… I'm much more intrigued with you now that I know exactly what it is that's bothering you" he said as he took a few steps closer to you.

"Exactly how long have you been seeing this cloaked man?" Beo asked as you are a bit surprised that he knows about him, you then question about it.

"Haha it's strange that's exactly how it started for me…. I was only five though when I had my first run in… They started as nightmares, vision's of chaos, destruction, death…" Beo said starting to trail off into his memories.

"One day I gave into it all, and from that point on I've been the most powerful person in the world, now I'm going to give you a gift, the gift of control" Beo began to persuade you like a bad salesmen but you start to wonder if there really was a way to control the cloaked man and the darkness starting to surround your life.

"I don't want anything in return, all I asks is you follow the commands I give you and in the end you will have control.. do we have a deal?" Beo asks grinning wildly with his hand out for you to shake… At first it's difficult to accept it, but something intrigues you about controlling the darkness, and you decide to give in.
"Good, that was the first step.. Now for your next step I need something's done, I'm preparing for a war.. and you've just been promoted to first in command my boy" Beo says as you question who the war is against.

"Everything" was his only reply as you follow him into another room and once there he lets you inside.

"I need you to go to my home, inside the reverse world, there you will find a collogue of yours unconscious in my bedroom.. I want you to carry him up to the top floor, once there awaken him with this awakening potion" Beo says as you ask him who exactly the collogue is but he has no reply as he simply snaps his fingers and you are sucked into the darkness. The final words you hear from him are simply:

"Oh and Jake my boy, please don't touch the staff that's for your collogue to have" as you pass out once more.

Post 2
As you slowly come to you, you find yourself laying in a bed, in a bedroom of what appeared to be a young boy. As you slowly sit up you notice a broken picture on the floor as you recognize two of them as Beo, and Zypher while the other is some girl.

"Ahhh.." A voice yells from across the room as you look over and suddenly you realize who Beo meant by collogue. It was Gil Tess one of the trainers from Oak's lab, and one of the others who joined Beo. But what exactly was he doing laying unconscious on this floor… What ever it was he was doing here, he seemed to be having an unpleasant nightmare. Ether way you decide it is best to follow through with Beo's orders and you pick the boy up slumping him over your shoulder and making your way out of the room.

The hallway was darker but you could slowly make out the figure of a staircase and quickly moved over to it. The staircase itself wasn't what you would think it would be inside of someone's home.. This staircase was different, it became harder and harder to breath as the air became thicker, the walls of the house were gone and instead replaced with a night sky. You could see stars that were real close. Almost as if you could reach out and touch them but you wouldn't dare try not carrying someone else on your back.

Every so often you had to stop to take breaks; this pattern lasted for about ten minutes before finally you reached the top. The top of the staircase was just a big huge round platform, and in the center of the platform was an alter. In the center of the alter was a long golden staff with a pokeball attached at the top. There was an immense power emmiting from it, it was drawing you closer as if you could reach out and touch it, when suddenly Beo's words echoed in your mind about not touching it.

You began to reach for the awakening to awaken Gil when suddenly you here a faint laugh behind you.

"Haha, stupid child trying to take the masters staff huh?" He said as you turned around to find a Dark Brotherhood member with a Noctowl on his shoulder.

"Get him" he ordered as his pokemon flew at you. You began trying to explain that Beo sent you here but it was no use the man just kept attacking. It was time to fight, you were getting angry, exhausted, and furious at everything that had happened to you over the past few weeks… Shadows began to circle at your feet just like with Bruno.

During the battle you become angrier, and more resentfull, the darkness begins to circle upwards your body. Then after you defeat him he just laughs and spits at you, calling you scum, worthless, and the last straw psycho. That's when something strange happens you hear Beo calling your name.

"Now Jake concentrate, focus your angry on this man" he says as you do, the darkness moves out from underneath you, it grabs the man by the ankles and throws him to the ground. Slowly it pulls him your way. Suddenly a dagger materializes out of the shadows into your left hand.

"Kill him" Beo shouts as the man looks absolutely shocked as if he was just used as a pawn for Beo. And then you take your first life, there are no choices this time. No this time you lost it.

A few moments later everything is back to normal, the shadows once circling you are gone, the dagger vanished… All that remained was a dead body of a worthless peon, and Gil.

You slowly walk over to the passed out boy, pull out the awakening and spray it over his face… You begin to wonder why exactly he slept through all of that? And what was his purpose in all of this?

Chapter 3
Johto League's Fate?
There you were at the outskirts of what used to be Cerulean City, what remained of the city was now submerged under a dark lake. As you look over across the opposite side you are shocked at what you see. Team Rocket members were now carrying Misty the gym leader away and standing there was Giovanni, along with someone you recognized from Oak's lab.

Kabir.

You begin to wonder what's going on when suddenly Giovanni releases a strange looking pokemon and Kabir vanishes, along with the rest of them. There were now many questions on your mind with not a lot of time. The main question you had to have answered right now was who was Erytin really working for?

The night sky started to become present as you realized you were running out of day time, and nobody liked to be outside when it became truly dark in Kanto anymore. But in all honesty you didn't care, you hadn't felt the same since you joined the brotherhood, in fact you just almost killed a man who had nothing to do with you.

"It's funny how things work out like that" a voice say from the sky above you and for a second you feel like your going to see another Dark Brotherhood member but this time it was someone you didn't expect.

You remembered back to the days you lived in Johto, actually you had only been in Kanto for as long as this stupid journey has taken… Which honestly you didn't know it seemed time didn't matter here anymore. Ether way you remember that your father was one of the toughest trainers in Johto and that he was always visiting the gym leaders for dinners and training sessions. So quickly you remembered this lady.

"It's good to see you again Grecko, my it's been awhile" Claire says floating down to you on her Dragonair. Claire was the blackthorn city gym leader in Johto. You started to wonder what all of the Johto Gym leaders were staring to do in Kanto. So you question her.

"Tsk, tsk, you didn't think we'd stay out of this matter for ever did you? I mean Falkner was just playing dumb for your sake, but we know all about the Brotherhood and we know all about you joining them!" She says with anger as she jumps off Dragonairs back and forces him into attacking you.

After defeating Claire she just begins to laugh. You begin to question what she is laughing about. Once again you can feel the anger welling up inside you, darkness begins to swirl around your fists.

"Your weak Grecko! Your father was wrong you can't fight the darkness you've been lost from the fight!" She says recalling her fainted Dratini.

"Boo hoo I want revenge on my father, get over it boy! Life isn't far and you could do a lot worse for a father" She says as suddenly her face turns white as behind you is standing Beo.

"Kill her, she is insulting your intelligence" Beo says as Claire is utterly scared, as if shed never seen Beo before, but maybe that was it she hadn't seen pure evil in human form.

"Grecko don't let him fool you, your not a killer" She said changing her tone from a minute ago to a more scared tone.

It was one thing to chose a side for one reason or another, but you are a boy who hates being told what to do the darkness continued to boil inside of you suddenly the darkness is now all the way to your shoulders. You can't control it and suddenly you find yourself darting at Claire with your dagger in hand when suddenly she vanishes.

There you were standing in the sport where Claire had once stood just moments ago as you were ready to strike her down you begin wondering what happened to you…

"The darkness is coming to you well child, much faster then with the other two" Beo laughs referring to the other two trainers from Oak's lab. You turn around to yell in anger at Beo that you only wanted revenge on your father but sadly he is gone.

You fall to one knee; things were getting out of hand. In one day you had encountered two gym leaders from Johto both of which you tried to kill but failed due to interferences… You wonder if Erytin also had a hand in saving Claire.

"No I had no hand in that one Grecko, someone stronger did, someone who is angered with you, but has watched you back since day one" Erytin says as you turn around to face him but he is not there.

"Don't worry I'm not actually hear I'm using a psychic pokemon to give you this message, if you want answers, and the one your seeking come to Mt. Silver and hurry we haven't much time before Kanto hits the fans" Erytin says as his voice fades out. One problem was how exactly you were going to get to Mt. Silver from Cerluan I mean on foot that was a few days journey and if you hadn't much time then it would be no good.

That's when things got really strange as in a blaze of speed a pokemon sped by you and then stopped to face you. It was like a gian dog pokemon, only it was blue and almost see threw at times, it had long purple hair on it's back and suddenly you realize it wanted you to fight it, almost as if to prove you were worthy.
