    afternoon.

I have made a list of rules for a perfect pokemon party. and also a party corresponding (more or less) to said rules.

do you guys have anything to add to the list? slash, have any perfect parties of your own (list used or not)?

MY RULES (in order of priority):
    1.) cover your weakness.
as in, have a Ho-Oh with earthquake
    2.) anything can 1X anything.
anyone can put up a fight against anyone else
    3.) don't forget STABs.
no Metagrosses without steel or psychic moves
4.) try to cover all types.
24 moves and 17 types. easy, but low priority
5.) as little 4X weaknesses as possible.
one is OK, but 2 isn't
6.) keep it over 60 power.
sure there's plenty of awesome under 60, but they're not good enough (quick-attack types excluded)

    ...and the party.

i see 3 legends there lol

indeed you do. that doesn't mean it's impossible, just difficult :D

i mean people try to avoid legends in their party for competitive battle you know, uber maybe but not legends, unless they agreed on legends battle..
    i'm just saying ^^

Have a Ground, Fire, Flying, Fighting, Grass, and Water Type. Then you have an advantage over everyone.

Or, you do in Sinnoh at least.

Torterra, Magmar, Honchkrow, Gastrodon, Nidoking, Hariyama FTW.

um yeah your rules don't work.

You forgot the fact that the team has to be good.

    two things:
one, what's wrong with my team?

two, I said, if you have anything to contribute, i.e., helpful advice please do so... in fact, I was kinda hoping someone might.

what, like all of them? I have a honchkrow, he's like level 63, and I agree, he is AMAZING but the problem is his sp. def. and def. just SUCK, but otherwise he is amazing and I would have included him.

Honchkrow can get around his low defenses by utilising Sucker Punch to hit them first, or Giga Impact if something's setting up (nothing's taking that easily).

Nidoking is incredibly good. My favourite set is mixed, like this:

Superpower | Thunderbolt | Ice Beam | Earth Power

Superpower doesn't harm your other 3 attacks, which have coverage over, well, everything except Shedinja, who he can't harm at all.

Something to cover its' weaknesses, would be Honchkrow, immune to Psychic and Ground, and Vaporeon, which is immune to Water thanks to its' ability, and resists Ice
